The physical edition is definitely meant to be a collector's item, and VL's operating model really disincentivies people from choosing physicial books if the goal is to actually read danmei. eBooks are really the only way to go with this publisher if the goal is to read a new series without either waiting an absurdly long time Regardless, I'm a sucker for pretty books and exclusive merch, and I truly am impressed by the design and attention to details in this edition. I know this sub loves to dogpile on VL (and I have been a part of these dogpiles on multiple occasions), but I am genuinely glad they occupy this niche. Ramblings aside, here is the proof that the books are real: Everything in the box. The two volumes come stacked with a nice double-sided sleeve that holds both of them. I wish Silent Hearts' physical books had gotten the same treatment just for bookshelf consistency. The inside of the sleeve is an interview with the author. Camera was out of focus here, but you can read the full interview on ViaLactea's twitter. Paper goods. Everything is shiny, and it really confused my camera. I really like the ticket bookmarks. So today I turned on my truck and I just got the GMC logo on the infotainment screen. 2022 GMC AT4. I started and stopped the truck multiple times. Opened the door to reset. Nothing. F(21) back in march on the 23rd i went over to my M(24) ex boyfriend’s place and stayed the night. he was planning on helping me change my oil in the morning. i had brand new 5qts of oil and an oil filter waiting in my trunk. my ex and i are super close considering each other best friends, we did mess around here and there still so there was that fwb aspect but there was alot more to it than just that. We broke up in October of 2022 (it was mutual so we could focus on ourselves) and shorty after that he was filling the void of loneliness by sleeping with a few girls including me still. One of them happened to be a complete psychopath. this girl he met grew a deep hatred for me and huge obsession for him. in the beginning she was stalking me on social media, i would see her name viewed my story and even accidentally liking my photos. It got so bad i had to block her and then i started seeing views from weird random accounts and even her SISTER. it got creepy and weird really quick, she was even stalking him but this time IN PERSON! she had his location too at the time and then he was started to get paranoid as well. he obviously kept her around cuz of the benefits of her having money and always buying him shit and another chick to fuck of course cuz men love their variety amiright? (i don’t judge i’m open) anyway long story short it built up to me waking up the next day from that night to my ex texting her fuming telling me she fucked with my car. I walk over and see the two drivers side tires slashed from what looked like knife indents, keyed all around from the knife as well i assume from how deep scratches were, and the worst of all pouring that 5 qts of oil i had in my trunk all over the interior, radio, seats, vents, everything was drenched and covered in oil. along with stealing my new oil filter…my car was behind a locked gate and unfortunately my dumbass didn’t lock my car, but she still managed to trespass my ex’s property through a different gate that was accidentally left unlocked that night. i used to be an uber eats driver so that really screwed me over financially, i have really bad mental and physical health issues that prevent me from keeping a regular job. the car estimate from all the damage was over $11k and she still owes me $500 for the damages my insurance didn’t cover. i made the police report immediately and now have a detective but it’s been really hard getting ahold of him. the last time i did talk to him i gave him evidence of an audio recording of my ex talking to her on the phone about it and her admitting to it, along with a screenshot from his phone of her admitting to doing it as well. so far i haven’t heard any updates and it’s been two months since i’ve submitted the evidence, my case still isn’t in their system either…i know its typical to be a long process but i’m still very concerned and anxious about this, i want her to face jail for what she did i literally had to get a new used car cuz the damage was that bad. restitution and jail is what sounds fair to me. i’m basically just asking for advice or insight from anyone that’s had any experiences similar to this or redditors who work in law or crime business, please it would be a big help! thank you for reading.

I think the mid-range line should touch the two corners of the top of the paint and taper off at about the same point relative to the sideline as the three point line. A shot between the mid-range and three point line would be worth 2.5 points. I know that half points don't look good, but I believe people will get accustomed to it quickly.
The reasons I think this is a good idea is that it allows for more varied offensive strategies and reward players who have not given up on this skill. Instead of the Suns being a second round exit, they would have been more competitive since they had three top 4 mid-range shooters in the league. A team like the Warriors could solve their spacing issue with Looney and Green on the floor at the same time by having them spot up or relocate, when spacing becomes an issue, behind the mid-range line. This is one example, but I am sure it could apply to many teams. The bulls could become more competitive simply for having Demar Derozan. Stars and superstars who are paint-heavy scorers wouldn't be pressured to develop just a three point shot. They can start from the mid-range and work their way up.
Now for the math:
NBA players shoot roughly 42% from the mid-range and 36% from the three point line in 2022-23. When adjusted for 2 pointers, that is 52.5% for the mid-range and 54% for the three point line. You may have noticed that the three point shot is still more valuable. I believe that the mid-range will close the gap and overtake the three point shot for efficiency once teams realize its strategic benefits and that it has almost the same value as a three pointer as of now. Even if, hypothetically, the mid-range shot becomes noticeably more valuable than the three point shot, the three point shot will still allow for better spacing for shots in the paint. The mid-range shot is also much easier to close out contest and to guard in general.
A short term benefit is that this will generate buzz for the NBA. Former players, especially 90s players, will constantly talk about how they would have averaged x number of points in this era. More casual fans would tune in to see what the buzz is all about.

We are allowed 6 unpaid sick days.
This policy is even applied from one year to the next (ie mid-2022 to kid-2023)
If you refuse to sign and ask to speak with HR they waffle and say that there is no such policy, and yet they enforce these written warnings (which prevent promotion, etc.) across numerous plants in different cities.

Every car I have purchase (I've only had 2) have been cash cars. I am relocating to a new city because I got a new job, and while my 2010 Hyundai Elantra that has 126,600 miles is not bad (it also is not the Hyundai that is easily broken in to) I would like to not drive it around in a new city because I still feel like I would be targeted. Also, my mother needs a new car and can't really afford it, she drive a 2004 Nissan Sentra and it's literally falling apart and I'll feel bad living 6 hours away with a piece of shit car. This would be my first time buying a car, but also with all this inflation and shortages I know it has driven the price of cars up. They have 2014 Honda Civic LX that has 100k miles on it for $14,998 and I think that's crazy, the car is almost 10 years old! before COVID that car would around 5-8k. But anyway do you think that a Used 2017 Toyota Corolla 50th Anniversary Special Edition Sedan 4D, that has 34k miles, is worth paying around $22k? personally, i'm not trying to have over a $300 car note, but that could just be me being cheap. If it helps, I'm a 29 year old female, and where i'm moving it's better to have a car because everything is spread apart. What are some price haggling tips to at least get it down to 17-18k?

I have two dates of loss for injuries 1/22/21 and 12/2/21. It’s been almost two years since I’ve last worked and almost six months since I’ve received treatment on my injury. Hired an attorney in October 2022 and frequency of medical treatment lessened then. With my adjusters lack of response in time, it’s been almost impossible to receive an MRI, CAT scan, cortisone injections or surgery. The extent of treatment I’ve received has been acupuncture and physical therapy.
I’ve had one QME in March 2022, Doc says that I haven’t received enough medical treatment to close the case anytime soon.
Loss of income has caused me to relocate out of state which indefinitely disrupts my case. My attorney is now searching for Dr’s in Texas to take a California Worker’s comp case. It is said to delay my case so much more than it has already dragged on.
At this point the injury is getting worse and I’m ready to seek treatment outside of the worker’s comp network as it seems I’m being dicked around by my adjuster, doctors, and now attorney. The financial impact the injury has have totally destabilized my life.
What is the best way to close my cases out for good? Any and all advice welcome. Thank you!

I am looking for any helpful legal advice. I'm a university student, renting a room in a university apartment. The rent is per room, but the apartment is shared between me and three others. Utilities are separate from rent, and are stated in the rental agreement and handbook to be handled by the occupants through a separate service provider. Utilities were handled by one of my other roommates. The account was made in their name alone.
I rented this room from July of 2021 to May of 2023. I did not occupy the room or apartment in any capacity from February 2022 to May of 2023. My room was essentially a personal storage unit. Breaking lease was far too expensive. I resided instead with my partner (and have been since February of 2022). It was very clear to my roommates that I was living entirely with my partner; I had stated this verbally on multiple occasions and even had one of my roommates check in with me, which is when I confirmed in writing that I do not stay in the apartment. My roommates were well aware of my absence in the period of February 2022 to June 2022 (essentially the spring semester).
Despite being entirely absent from the unit, I continued to pay a portion of the utilities through December of 2022. This is due in part to me being non-confrontational, and also a clause in the rental handbook and agreement that states heat must be on in winter months due to pipe maintenance (meaning heat would be on in my room, counting as usage on my part). To my knowledge, no lights or heat were used in my room outside of this period.
Given that I had indicated to my roommates that I was living entirely with my partner, I made no payment towards utilities after December. Heat was not needed at this point, meaning I made no contributions to utility usage. I only saw that payment requests were being made through a group chat, where the person managing the utilities would state a cost to be paid. I had communicated with this person on other matters outside of utilities. I was never once asked about missing payments. To me, it was clear that because I was not using utilities and that I would not be paying. The lack of follow up or even addressing it seemed to confirm this.
After everyone had moved out (with utilities having been paid in full and the account closed), the roommate managing the utility account messaged me privately and demanded payment, in full, for the months I was absent. I stated I would not be paying for the reasons above. She sent this conversation to the group chat, demanding payment from the other two roommates because I was “flaking” and if it was an issue they could take me to small claims.
They tried to claim that there's no way to know if I was residing in the residence or not. Both my partner and I have location storing on our devices, proving residence of a different property. I am in the process of getting that data downloaded. They then claimed they haven't stayed much there but they are paying, so I should as well. One roommate stated they were absent for the entirety of the fall semester, just like I was. I pointed out that I had remained absent, still making zero contributions to utility usage but paying for that period. Another tried to say that they often stay with friends, meaning they should only be liable for half of what they pay based on my argument. Again, they are still the ones using the utilities. I couldn't because I was never present.
My partner and I have done some research. In our area, average usage per month is roughly 970 KwH for a 2000 sq. ft. home in 2023. The apartment we lived in was 1000 sq. ft. After requesting billing statements, they somehow, with only 2 to 3 of them present, averaged 1200 KwH monthly. Either they were all constantly there, or decided to constantly leave utilities active, regardless of if they were present.
They also keep trying to say it was my responsibility to indicate my absence to ALL of them, not just the one managing funds. I had indicated that I was moving out with my partner when the lease ended. I also had told all of them I reside entirely with my partner. Again, this was evident given that I had already been absent and residing with my partner from February 2022. I had indicated I do not live at this apartment. They knew my room was used entirely for storage, as my bed wasn't even in the room. You could barely get past the door. They were saying I was responsible for telling them they needed to pay more, not the person managing the funds.
They then said I was responsible for paying regardless because there is a flat rate for access to utilities from the service provider, and then an additional monthly charge for usage. The flat rate is $9 a month in totality, not per person.
In my absence following December 2022, the utility bill spiked from roughly $10 a month per person to nearly (and sometimes over) $50 a month per person. Again, this is without me ever being on the property and them claiming to never be there too. They tried to cite an 8% increase in rates on the service provider's end, but that doesn't make any sense.
Their final arguments to me were about verbal agreements. They stated the agreement was for the four of us to split the payment. I stated that I did not ever agree to anything written first of all, and second, the verbal agreement could not count as I had indicated multiple times I was no longer living at that apartment. Nonpayment on my end was clear as well. It was the responsibility of the person managing the funds to follow up on nonpayment, and also to make appropriate adjustments.
Sorry for the long post. Am I liable for any payments? Would my roommates have a case against me in court? What I'm counting on is my location data to show that I was genuinely absent, texts showing that I had made my absence clear and photos showing that I could not reside in my room even if I wanted, extended gaps and redundancies in their arguments, and transactions showing I did pay for any utility usage that I was aware of and liable for.
If they take the case to court, I will be missing multiple flights home, and will be out several hundreds of dollars used towards being able to take my pet home (meaning vet bills, plane and airport fees, etc.). Would I be able to seek damages for this?
TLDR; I wasn't making utility payments because I wasn't using my apartment (rent and utilities are separate).
