2023.03.22 17:24 carissag99 Asurion Protection Plan?
My grandmother just bought me the Doona car seat/stroller from Amazon. She just told me she also purchased the protection plan by Asurion. I’m very concerned. I looked up YouTube videos and some people are saying it’s a complete scam, not to mention it seems like it’s mainly for electronics that people get it for. The Doona already has a 2 year warranty. I’m not sure what an expensive protection plan will provide for me. Under the “what is not covered” portion it says “Damages caused by acts of God or third-party actions, including but not limited to: fire, collision, vandalism, theft, war, invasion or act of foreign enemy, riot, strike, labor disturbance or civil commotion;” so that seems like even a car accident will not be covered to get a new one or anything. I need to know if this is legit, if it’s worth it, if I should tell her to cancel it immediately, etc.

2023.03.22 17:12 Theclaaw Countdown to Kickoff 2023: Portland Thorns FC
| 🌹🌹🌹 LET'S GET THORNY!! 🌹🌹🌹 You can check out the the original post with links to all other write ups for this year here. BACKGROUND Head Coach: Mike Norris Formerly an assistant coach for the Thorns, Mike Norris took over the team in January of this year following the resignation of last year’s head coach, Rhian Wilkinson who stepped down after only one season. Her resignation came after a joint investigation by the NWSL & NWSLPA regarding a relationship developing with a current player on the team. While the investigation found Wilkinson did not violate league policies, Wilkinson left the team after player urging, regarding the broken trust between the players and Wilkinson, the legitimacy of the reporting/investigation process of the team/league, and potential retaliation amongst other issues. Norris joined PTFC in 2022 as an assistant head coach under Wilkinson. Most recently, Norris was the goalkeepers coach for the current Olympic champions, the Canadian Women’s National Team, but Norris’s assistant coaching background in women’s soccer is extensive. After starting his coaching career in youth soccer, he quickly moved up through Canadian youth’s national system up to the senior team over the span of 8 years. Most importantly, Norris was hired with the backing of the current players. Expectations are high for Norris. The Thorns are coming off their third championship season with sights set on a repeat performance. Technical Director: Karina LeBlanc - General Manager Karina LeBlanc took over the role of General Manager in November of 2021 following a 3 year stint as CONCACAF’s Head of Women’s Soccer. The newly dedicated role in the Thorns' organization came after a separation between the Thorns management from their brother club Portland Timbers FC stemming from the fall out of the 2021 abuse scandal of the league. LeBlanc, a Canadian national team Hall of Famer, was immediately thrown into the mix, managing to make a splash with her first two trades within her first month, securing a substantial amount of allocation money and expansion draft protection. Unfortunately, LeBlanc stumbled a bit in her first NWSL draft, using her first pick on a player that was never signed by the club (due to transphobic/anti-LGBTQ+ social media posts). In just over a year, LeBlanc appears to be a breath of fresh air in the recent tumultuous years of the club. Just like head coach Mike Norris, there are high expectations for LeBlanc (honestly though, not protecting a known abuser would instantly shoot LeBlanc up to the best GM in Thorns history). Captain: Chrstine Sinclair Synonymous with Portland women’s soccer and needing no introduction, the Canadian GOAT Christine Sinclair has been the Thorn’s captain since the start of the league in 2013. While several players have worn the armband in Sinc’s absence, the captaincy is Sinc’s and truly Sinc’s alone. Stadium: Providence Park, Soccer City, USA Arguably one of the most iconic professional soccer stadiums in the US, Providence Park has played host to the Thorns since they joined the league in 2013. Located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood in Southwest Portland, the recently renovated stadium is home to both PTFC teams and can host over 25,000 fans. Ownership: To Be Determined I am not going to waste time talking about the Thorns' current owner; in no way does he deserve any more publicity and in mine, and I’m sure many others’ opinion, should not be allowed to own a club in the league. Thankfully, in December of 2022, it was announced the Thorns would be up for sale. While this could potentially hinder both the Thorns & Timbers’ mantra of “Two Teams, One Club”, the future is bright for the Thorns. Right after the announcement of the sale, it was reported that an all-women investment group led by Nike executive Melanie Strong was looking to submit a bid with a valuation of $60 million. Mascot: N/A While there is no mascot for the club, the prominence of roses can be seen throughout the club, including on merch, within the supporters section, and even awarded to players after home matches. Kits: We’ve Got Some Mixed Opinions The Thorns have had some really great kits in past years. However, the kits unveiled in 2022 really missed the mark. One comment pointed out that the 2022 kits looked as if someone took the 2021 kits and remade them in MS Paint. Switching to black kits the previous year, Portland’s primary kits kept with the theme of a black base with the inclusion of red vines/thorns. A nice little easter egg, the acronym dear to the PTFC supporters, BAON, is included within the neck tag (a feature added to the kits starting in 2020). The secondary kits didn’t fare much better. The club kept with the primary colors of white and red, but other than that, not much else can be said about them. 2023 brings about a fun new kit for our Ed Hardy fans out there (at least we can say they didn’t play it safe???). The Thorns wanted to go bold and that they did. With an updated logo on the shorts, they definitely stand out. Supporters Groups: The Rose City Riveters Housed in the North End of Providence Park, the Rose City Riveters are a wild bunch of supporters. You can check out their Instagram or Twitter. The group provides plenty of volunteer opportunities, charity drives, and are never shy in supporting what they believe in. The Riveters are loud and proud (NSFW - language), creating one of the best sporting environments in the league. Very biased, but they also create some of the best TIFOs and banners; since I love a good TIFO/banner, here are few of my recent favorites: Subreddit: /Thorns The Thorns subreddit is probably above average in activity compared to other clubs. You’ll get the biggest news, fun social media posts, and the occasional hyped upvote party (we like excitement). Drop by to show your support! News and Commentary: Stumptown Footy & Riveting! Stumptown Footy & Riveting! are the two publications that you will constantly find Thorns-centric coverage & commentary. While STF is currently going through the SB Nation cuts of all soccer coverage, they still plan on continuing coverage of soccer in Portland. Both are great for not just coverage, but opinions on the Thorns & the league. SCHEDULE 2023 Season/Home Opener: Sunday, March 26th, Orlando Pride @ Providence Park Full 2023 Schedule HISTORY - NWSL Championship: 2013, 2017, 2022
- NWSL Shield: Supporters’ Shield: 2016, 2021
- NWSL Challenge Cup: 2021
Also including the 2020 NWSL Community Shield for the Fall Series after the Chaos Cup. 2022 Season Review Three Stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐ The Portland Thorns were your 2022 NWSL League Champions! As any other season in Portland, the Thorns came in with high expectations following their Shield win in 2021, but their upset loss in the semi-finals to Chicago. Portland went into the pre-season Challenge cup in the West Division finishing 3-1-2, but missed out on advancing to the knockout stage to defend their Challenge Cup championship. The Thorns started off the regular season a little sluggish, going 1-3-1 in their first five games, falling all the way to 7th in the standings. Thankfully, they quickly hit their stride, going on a 10 game unbeaten streak. Following back to back thrashings from NCC & SD, the Thorns went on to not drop a match for the rest of the season. They ended the season with a record of 10-9-3 and a goal differential of +25! The race for the shield at the end of the season was wild, with Portland being in control of their own destiny, but couldn’t get it done, ultimately falling short by 1 point to OL Reign. Focusing on the on-field storylines, there is one name that was the star of the show: Sophia Smith. Coming into her 3rd season in the league, Smith took off (for club and country)! Racking up 14 goals with 3 assists which lead to 3 Player of the Week nominations (1 win), a Player of the Month award, 2nd in the race for the Golden Boot, NWSL Championship Game MVP, and ultimately being crowned the 2022 NWSL MVP. Nothing could stop Sophia Smith last season and hopefully this is just the beginning for her. Smith was not the only Thorns player to really step it up this year. Continuing on with the nickname of Goalkeeper FC (shout out the magical Thorns GKer coach Nadine Angerer), starting goalkeeper Bella Bixby tied for the most clean sheets in the league with 9 (10 if you include the playoffs). Rookie Sam Coffey made an immediate impact in the midfield, switching to a DM position and being an anchor our midfield needed. The Thorns also had 1 iron woman in 2022, defender Kelli Hubly who really solidified her starting role going forward (over an injured Emily Menges). Last, but not least, one of the biggest stories of the season: the return of Crystal Dunn! After giving birth to her very adorable son Marcel in May, Dunn returned to the pitch less than 4 months later. And who could forget Dunn’s game winner to send Portland to the championship? OFFSEASON Players Out - Lindsey Horan, MF - For now, Horan is still out on loan to Lyon through the summer of 2023
- Marissa Everett, F - Retired (to pursue a career in nursing)
- Abby Smith, GK - Free agency (signed to Gotham)
- Yazmeen Ryan, F - Traded to ACFC
Players In Free Agents: None Drafted: - Reyna Reyes - Defender - Round 1 Pick 5 (still unsigned, but training with the team)
- Izzy D’Aquila - Forward - Round 1 Pick 12 (signed)
- Lauren DeBeau - Forward/Midfield - Round 2 Pick 24 (released by the team ahead of final roster)
- Lauren Kozal - Goalkeeper - Round 3 Pick 32 (signed)
ROSTER Preseason Roster Thorns return 23 players from their 2022 season and added 3 new players through the NWSL Draft. Goalkeepers (3): Bella Bixby, Shelby Hogan, Lauren Kozal (DRAFT) Defenders (9): Kelli Hubly, Meghan Klingenberg, Natalia Kuikka (INTL), Tegan McGrady, Emily Menges, Meaghan Nally, Gabby Provenzano, Reyna Reyes (DRAFT), Becky Sauerbrunn Midfielders (7): Sam Coffey, Crystal Dunn, Olivia Moultrie, Taylor Porter, Rocky Rodríguez, Christine Sinclair, Hina Sugita (INTL) Forwards (7): Janine Beckie, Natalie Beckman, Hannah Betfort, Izzy D’Aquila (DRAFT), Sophia Smith, Michele Vasconcelos, Morgan Weaver Predicted Preferred Gameday XI Formation: A bit unknown what the formation will be this year with a new head coach, but the Thorns primarily ran a 4-3-3 last year. It’s going to be an interesting discussion to see how Norris handles where Sinclair goes. While I respect the Canadian GOAT, I believe Sinc would be best used as a super sub. Depending how Norris handles where Sinclair goes, there is going to be some variation within our midfield & forwards group. Predicting Sinc remaining in our starting line up, I would expect to see some form of our starting XI looking something like: -------------------Bixby------------------- -Kuikka----Hubly----Sauerbrunn----Klingenberg- ----Rodriguez----Coffey----Dunn---- ----Smith----Sinclair----Weaver---- Likely Top Bench/Subs: - Emily Menges, D
- Hina Sugita, MF
Janine Beckie, F (sike :( ) - Izzy D’Aquila, F
- Olivia Moultrie, M (again, Moultrie’s use is really going to depend on what Norris plans on. Moultrie was ramping up in minutes on the back half of the season last year. As of today, Moultrie is in the Starting XI for the Thorns first preseason match)
Returning Players (Almost Everyone): GK: Bella Bixby, Shelby Hogan D: Kelli Hubly, Meghan Klingenberg, Natalia Kuikka, Tegan McGrady, Emily Menges, Meaghan Nally, Gabby Provenzano, Becky Sauerbrunn M: Sam Coffey, Crystal Dunn, Olivia Moultrie, Taylor Porter, Rocky Rodríguez, Christine Sinclair, Hina Sugita F: Janine Beckie, Natalie Beckman, Hannah Betfort, Sophia Smith, Michele Vasconcelos, Morgan Weaver The Vets Almost every Thorns player is a veteran with the team at this point. The vets below are those who have been around the block a time or two in this league: D: Klingenberg, Menges, Sauerbrunn M: Dunn, Rodríguez, Sinclair Something to Prove - Kelli Hubly (D) - Being the Thorns only iron woman is a feat in itself, but until the 2021 season, Hubly hadn’t been a consistent starter. With an aging backline, it will be seen if Hubly can continue on the upward trajectory in being that anchor of our backline
- Sam Coffey (M) - Year 1 for Coffey went about as good as one could wish for. Like Hubly, Coffey’s “prove it” is if she can continue to be as good as she was last year, proving that year 1 wasn’t just a fluke (I don’t think anyone thinks this is the case though). If she isn’t called in for the World Cup (a long shot at making it at the moment), Coffey is going to be a key piece for the Thorns.
- Olivia Moultrie (M) - The Child. (Can we even call her that anymore?). Moultrie & co. fought hard to allow her to play for the Thorns which led to massive changes in how the league handles U18 players. That said, Moultrie hasn’t really consistently shown that she’s as good as they said she was. A lot of it is due to playing time, it came sporadically and at times, playing only the last few minutes of the match. However, Moultrie has shown flashes of brilliance when she was in. She’s not afraid to be physical and she has the confidence to take her shot.
- Christine Sinclaire (M) - Does Sinc really have to prove anything at this point in her career? No. However, we are unfortunately heading towards the end of Sinc’s career here. The big question is, how will she handle it? This will be Portland’s 3rd coach in 3 years and while the Thorns are far from rebuilding, it is yet to be seen where Sinc will fall in Norris’s game planning. However it shakes out to be, I have a feeling we will see Sinc be what Sinc always is, the GOAT.
Out for the season So far, Portland is looking good as far as the SEI list (knock on wood). Jinxed myself on this one. Unfortunately, Janine Beckie went down in the preseason friendly against the U23 NT with an ACL tear. The biggest missing piece will once again be Lindsey Horan. Leaving at the start of last season, Horan left big shoes to fill. She will continue to be out until at least June (the end of her loan), but we most likely won’t see her return until after the World Cup. Fortunately for the Thorns, they do not lack depth in their midfield. 2023 PREVIEW Realistic Best Case Scenario: 1st Place The Thorns are returning almost the entirety of their championship team. And while they do have a new coach, Norris was there during the Thorns’ championship run. Expectations for the club will be higher than ever with the possibility of the Thorns going back to back a very realistic goal. Realistic Worst Case Scenario: 5-7th place The league is only getting better. While the Thorns did not lose any key players, many clubs right below them gained quite a few. Five different clubs were all within 4 points of each other at the end of the season. The 3 teams right below Portland were San Diego, Houston, and Kansas City. I won’t repeat what’s already been said in these write ups about those 3 teams, but the Thorns could’ve easily been 5th last year as they could’ve been 1st. Looking further back, you have a team like ACFC who should be returning many injured starters and could easily project themselves forward in the standings. The World Cup is going to be especially hard on the Thorns who will look to have ~7 players out which includes 5 potential starters. I don’t expect to see Portland drop out of the playoff picture, but the middle to back half of the season could get very interesting. Realistic Most Probable Scenario: 2nd-4th While the Thorns didn’t make any flashy trades or free agent signings, they stuck with what they know worked. Sophia Smith really hit her stride last year and is going to be looked upon to continue her dominance this year. The return of Lindsey Horan (if healthy) in the back half should really give us a push late into the season. Portland returns a team of veterans that know what it takes to win. Can they repeat the success of their 2022 season? We’re going to have to find out. submitted by Theclaaw to NWSL [link] [comments] |
2023.03.22 17:09 dentalmonsterum Dodger stadium questions
Good morning LA! White Sox fan coming in peace with a few questions about the stadium. We are heading to a game in June and I was wondering if I would have access to the concourse from our seats. We are in 43 reserve. At Sox stadium we can’t access concourse unless we have seats in the 100 level. Also wondering if I can get access to center field park. Thanks all!

2023.03.22 16:54 WildBill-Hickok Tony has more in common with his uncle than we realise
While tony does has role models such as Moltisanti and Johny Soprano, his uncle is the closest to him not only as a rolemodel for when he is leading the new jersey mob, but also characterwise. I dont mean uncle Ecole who was strong as a fucking bull and handsome like george raft, but I mean Junior. Tony and juniors most obvious parallel comes with the killing of the Moltisantis. Just as tonys uncle kills Dickie, tony kills christopher. And both arcs include the protection of children. Christopher believes that his father was murdered while carrying a cradle or a tv for him to watch, and tony justifies christophers killing with the baby seat. Tony looks up to his uncle and cares for him, even when junior tried to kill tony multiple times. And junior does care about tony in his own twisted way just as tony cares for christopher, but they would both murder their "heirs". Lets face it, junior is just as much of a sociopath as tony as they do not care about who they kill. They are both vindictive and selfish. Their squables are also very similar and they always try to show the other one that they are smarter. While they do "value" family, they both go out of their way to kill their loved ones and mostly car about status and money. Tony outshines his uncle as he shows that he is smarter and tony also has a younger and arguably more loyal men, but besides these points they are very similar. Aslo both never had the makings of varsity athletes. Anyways, 4 dollars a pound.

2023.03.22 16:46 spartachilles Social Democratic Convention of 1936 A House Divided Alternate Elections
| The Social Democratic Party has come far from its humble beginnings as a splinter of the Populist Party. Capturing the public imagination of the American left after the ignominious collapse of its predecessor during the Second Civil War, the Social Democratic Party defined the country’s relationship with the dictatorship both when its disputed 1908 defeat led to the collapse of democracy and when its triumphant 1912 victory allowed President John M. Work to guide its restoration. After a following decade of disappointing electoral returns and frustrating compromises with Solidarity to counter the Federalist Reform Party, the election of President John Dewey heralded a rejuvenation of the beleaguered Social Democratic Party. Amid the perfect storm of public dissatisfaction with the capitalist system, innovative new campaign tactics, and floundering opposition, the party further shocked pundits across the political spectrum by securing an absolute majority in the popular vote and trifecta control of the government during Dewey’s reelection campaign in 1932. In the two years that followed, the Social Democratic Party achieved accomplishments decades in the making including a national workmen’s compensation scheme, tripartite negotiations between major labor union leaders and representatives of industry shepherded by the federal government, and the nationalization of the railroads, telegraphs, and telephones. However, despite these impressive successes, increasingly apparent cracks in the party threaten to tear it asunder. At the center of its internal controversy lies the 1934 Declaration of Principles authored by Connecticut Senator Devere Allen, demanding a radical turn of the party platform and a strict adherence to pacifism in foreign affairs. Thus, tensions run high as a crop of faces both new and familiar struggle to succeed President Dewey. The Candidates New York Governor Norman Thomas Norman Thomas: As the focal figure of the internal party opposition to President Dewey, 52-year-old New York Governor Norman Thomas has amassed a formidable political coalition heading into the primary elections. Raised by a pastor in a deeply religious family, Thomas became convicted in his pacifistic beliefs from a young age, conscientiously objecting to serving in the Second Civil War and leaving for a missionary trip abroad rather than becoming embroiled in the Resistance to the dictatorship. Drawn into the world of politics after volunteering for the successful 1917 New York City mayoral campaign of Morris Hillquit, Thomas quickly attracted attention within the Social Democratic Party for his impressive oratory and writing skills and was soon elected as a State Senator. However, Thomas’s rise would be frustrated by a combative relationship with the urban Tammany Hall political machine which dominated much of the Social Democratic Party in New York. It would take a decade of building relationships with upstate leaders and anti-Tammany politicians for Thomas to finally secure the gubernatorial nomination in 1930, which proved to be fortuitous timing as Thomas rode the Social Democratic wave into the Governor’s mansion. In an effort that presaged President Dewey’s Great Community program, Governor Thomas implemented a highly ambitious relief program to give work to the unemployed and construct strong state-owned banks, power companies, and grain elevators. Beyond his record as governor though, Thomas became famous (or perhaps infamous) across the nation for his opposition to President Dewey on the basis of his stringent pacifism. Closely collaborating with Devere Allen on the authorship of the 1934 Declaration of Principles, Thomas also famously met with union leaders Harry Bridges and John L. Lewis to organize a large-scale political strike against shipments of aid to Russia in the Russo-Japanese War. Reflecting the tripartite makeup of his political coalition, Thomas’s campaign for the presidency has three primary facets. The first, and perhaps most pronounced, is his strictly pacifistic isolationism. Attacking international war as the “fruit of the perpetual economic warfare of capitalism”, Thomas has strictly opposed any type of military build-up or program and instead endorsed the use of tools such as trade embargoes and general strikes to combat the outbreak of war abroad. Secondly, Thomas has endorsed an even more radical direction for the party’s economic and political goals. Economically, Thomas has supported the widespread socialization of the economy under the model of worker’s self-management, declaring in favor of the immediate nationalization of industries such as banking, insurance, mining, and other “trustified” industries with the eventual goal of fully transferring to the people the ownership of industry, land, finance, and natural resources. Politically, Thomas has thrown in with radicals in the party by denouncing the “bogus democracy of capitalist parliamentarism” and calling for the abolition of the Senate and judicial review. To this end, Thomas has been critical of the amendments arising from the Second Constitutional Convention, instead preferring a more radical transformation of the country’s government to achieve a worker’s republic. Last but certainly not least, Thomas has strongly denounced the Dewey administration’s record on corruption, promising to disentangle the party from political bossism and corrupt bureaucrats and restore an honest administration to the country. Unsurprisingly, Thomas has been strongly attacked for his uncompromising radicalism and pacifism, which many of his opponents see as entirely unworkable. Secretary of the Interior Sherwood Eddy Sherwood Eddy: 65-year-old Secretary of the Interior Sherwood Eddy has been tapped by President Dewey as his heir apparent. Deeply religious from a young age and independently wealthy from his inheritance, Eddy took up theological studies through which he became absorbed by the incipient Social Gospel movement. This led him to join a missionary group after he completed his studies, a choice that brought him to spend the next thirty years abroad under the auspices of the YMCA to spread the gospel. Exposed to crushing poverty and political oppression while working in India, disappointed by the development of the dictatorship in his home country, and horrified by the atrocities he witnessed as a volunteer medic during the Great War, Eddy’s Christian socialist ardor only grew more pronounced in his years abroad. Thus, Eddy founded the Fellowship for a Christian Social Order to promote his ideals, becoming well acquainted with the inner circle of the Social Democratic Party through his travel seminars bringing American politicians to socialist countries such as Spain and Russia. Among those influential party men that he met was Secretary of Education John Dewey, and the two soon formed a close relationship with Eddy staunchly supporting Dewey’s 1928 campaign and helping to deliver the support of the crucial religious left constituency. Regarded as a capable administrator and loyal supporter of the president’s program, Eddy was appointed as the Secretary of the Interior and confirmed after a drawn-out battle with the opposition Congress. Thus, over the past eight years Eddy has served as one of the President’s chief lieutenants, driving the implementation of Dewey’s relief program and perhaps most famously promoting the cooperativization of agriculture across the nation. Believing Christian ethics to be incompatible with the current capitalist system, Eddy has advanced a program similar to that of President Dewey’s although tinged by his deep religiosity. To combat the continuing Great Depression, Eddy has called for the full achievement of President Dewey’s “Great Community”, including continued deficit spending for relief, the nationalization of monopolistic industries such as electric power, gas, utilities, and mining, and substantial increases in the land value tax. Beyond just such economic proposals, Eddy has also unambiguously endorsed the amendments to implement semi-presidentialism and federal direct democratic reforms, strongly supporting the drive to rebalance the separation of powers and bring government closer to the people. However, in an assertion of his independent political identity, Eddy has also emphasized a strongly moralistic outlook on social issues, including support for the national prohibition of alcohol as well as stronger governmental action to control vices such as gambling and prostitution. As a part of this drive, Eddy has also promised to direct a greater level of public works spending towards the replacement of slums with sanitary public housing, the construction of public health facilities, and the establishment of adult educational facilities. On the ever-controversial matter of foreign affairs, Eddy has strongly opposed the aggression of the Japanese Empire on a moral basis but has shied away from suggestions of military rearmament and preferred the continued application of sanctions and international pressure. With Eddy largely staying true to the orthodoxy of the popular President John Dewey, most attacks against him have centered around his deep-seated religious morality, which his opponents claim is inappropriate to advance on a national scale, as well as his relatively advanced age compared to many of his opponents. Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace Henry A. Wallace: Those supporting a more moderate path for the party have rallied around the party’s icon of compromise: 48-year-old Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace. Born into a successful farming family, Wallace was too young to have fought in the Second Civil War and instead spent those tumultuous years in high school with a particular interest in agricultural science. Rumored to have privately supported the dictatorship while studying in college due to his lack of noted resistance activities, Wallace only became truly exposed to the political world after the death of his grandfather, which allowed him to take a leading role in the family’s influential agricultural journal Wallace’s Farmer. Personal tragedy would produce political gain for the young Wallace, as President Tasker H. Bliss had planned on appointing his father Henry C. Wallace as the Secretary of Agriculture before the elder Wallace’s untimely death from the complications of gallbladder surgery, and opted instead to appoint the younger Wallace. Becoming known as “Mr. Agriculture” for his exceptional 12-year tenure in the position through both the Bliss and Dewey administrations, Wallace has overseen a revitalization of the Department and tackled issues such as a farm overproduction crisis and series of droughts in the Midwest with vigor. Not just content with being known as an able administrator, Wallace also famously stepped beyond his role to propose the compromise which led to the transformative Banking Act of 1933. However, Wallace’s time in the administration has not been free from controversy, with tabloid newspapers harassing his increasingly close relationship with the mysterious Russian mystic and exile Nicholas Roerich. True to his reputation as a compromiser, Wallace has supported a more moderate direction for the party. Rather than outright nationalization of electric power companies and other utilities, Wallace has instead endorsed the creation of publicly-owned regional economic planning and utility companies that would compete with private companies to offer cheap power while also driving rural electrification and flood control improvements. However, Wallace has not wholly shied away from nationalization of industry, and has in fact advanced nationalization proposals for industries not targeted in the plans of his opponents, including the merchant marine, the aircraft industry, and the oil industry. A strong supporter of the National Labor Relations Act, Wallace sees the government leadership of negotiations as a crucial way to advance the rights of labor in areas of working hours, workplace safety, and benefits, and has called for amendments to the act to better protect the rights and representation of agricultural workers. To further support agricultural workers, Wallace has championed a federal guarantee of a minimum income to farmers through price supports, federal purchasing programs, regulations to limit overproduction, and export to impoverished regions through global economic planning. A supporter of continuing deficit spending on public works with a particular focus on public housing, Wallace has suggested that the increases in the land value tax could help offset the growing federal debt and that otherwise the federal government should use price controls to control potential inflation. As a committed internationalist, Wallace has strongly endorsed President Dewey’s International Labor and Development Commission which would institute a level of global centralized economic planning. Furthermore, Wallace has strongly denounced the aggression of Integralist Italy and Japan, though he has cautioned against reckless expansions of the military if they would endanger the pro-democratic reforms advanced by President Bliss. The attacks against Wallace have often targeted his personal foibles, as Wallace is well known to be fascinated by spiritual matters such as Theosophy and the occult, with many believing that his close acquaintance Nicholas Roerich might have undue influence over Wallace. New Jersey Senator Upton Sinclair Upton Sinclair: Long discussed as a potential presidential candidate, 58-year-old New Jersey Senator Upton Sinclair has finally thrown himself into the running for the nation’s highest office. Having grown up fascinated with writing, Sinclair achieved his breakthrough success with the 1906 publication of The Jungle, a dramatic exposé of poor working conditions in the meatpacking industry. Leveraging the funds and fame from the book into a successful run for Congress in his home state of New Jersey, Sinclair continued to make a name for himself by sponsoring legislation to tackle food safety and worker’s rights in the industry. Unfortunately, Sinclair’s political success put him on a collision course with General Grant, and Sinclair was one of many Social Democratic politicians arrested and held for the duration of the dictatorship. After being freed from his confinement, Sinclair ran for and won a Senate seat representing New Jersey, which he has held ever since. Although many saw Sinclair as an up and coming politician who might well succeed President Work, such aspirations were dampened after Sinclair took a highly controversial stand against Work’s embargo of the warring powers in the Great War. Having thus burned many bridges within the party, Sinclair supported his friend and political sponsor Joseph Ray Buchanan at the party’s 1920 convention while slowly rebuilding his political reputation. A strident interventionist, Sinclair most recently gained fame for his harsh denouncement of the Japanese Invasion of Manchuria in Congress, demanding that the country provide aid to the beleaguered Russians. Devoting great attention to the increasing importance of primaries and caucuses, Sinclair has embarked on a nationwide campaign titled “End Poverty in Columbia”. The signature proposal of Sinclair’s campaign is for the federal government to create a program to nationalize any idle farm or industry and convert it into a worker’s cooperative. In parallel with such a program, Sinclair has suggested federal legislation guaranteeing the right of workers to purchase their workplace and transform it into a worker’s cooperative should their employer seek to close it down. In further development of these worker’s communities, Sinclair has called for a greater investment into public housing, community kitchens, and communal social spaces. To fund such an expansive program, Sinclair has suggested that new forms of taxation such as taxes on stock transfers or capital gains would be necessary alongside the issuance of more government bonds and increases to the land value tax to support this program. As another method to stimulate the economy on the demand side, Sinclair has proposed a dramatic reduction in the retirement age to 50 years of age, increases in pensions paid out under the social insurance system, and a taxation scheme that would encourage the immediate expenditure of such pensions. Sinclair has supported the amendments of the Second Constitutional Convention, seeing them as a means to accelerate the passage of his EPIC program. The other facet of Sinclair’s campaign is his uncompromising interventionism; Sinclair is one of few Social Democrats to have openly endorsed military rearmament and has suggested that military intervention might be necessary in a global war to guarantee the safety of democracy. This position has proven highly controversial, with many attacking such a plan as a reckless way of stoking the fires of Grantism in the country once again. Moreover, many have questioned Sinclair’s suitability for office due to his well-known interest in the occult and his promotion of his wife’s supposed telepathic powers. New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia Fiorello LaGuardia: While most of the so-called “sewer socialists” of the party have lent their support to Norman Thomas, those opposed to his candidacy have instead rallied around 54-year-old New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. Born to a family of Italian immigrants that moved around the country due to his father’s service in the military, LaGuardia attempted to follow his father to war upon the outbreak of the Second Civil War. However, after being denied for military service on account of his short stature, LaGuardia instead found his way to the frontlines in a different capacity: as a war correspondent for the St. Louis Dispatch. With a passion for public service, LaGuardia secured a clerical position in the State Department after the war, and in a pattern of service oft-criticized as collaboration with the Grant regime, spent the next decade in several low-level governmental administration roles. With the amnesty offered by President Work, LaGuardia pursued a seat in Congress as a Social Democrat in 1916, and won several successive terms thanks to his strong appeal among ethnic minorities and tireless advocacy for the rights of labor. After losing re-election in the Federalist Reform wave of 1928, LaGuardia was approached to run a third-party fusion campaign for Mayor of New York City by a wide-ranging coalition of anti-Tammany Social Democrats, disaffected Solidarists opposed to the urban planning initiatives of Mayor George McAneny, and moderate Federalist Reformists fearful of a more radical candidate winning in a landslide. With such broad-based support, LaGuardia easily won the 1933 election and his tenure has been hailed for his pristine anti-corruption credentials, wide-ranging relief efforts, and crackdown on the infamous labor sluggers of the city. Portraying himself as a master administrator, LaGuardia has centered his campaign around bringing about a more honest Social Democratic government. Thus, alongside economic proposals to expand the scope and scale of public works spending and nationalize electric power and utilities, LaGuardia has also emphasized the necessity of clamping down on corruption and crime in the country. To this end, LaGuardia has emphasized an overhaul of the country’s civil service protections to be in line with the massively expanded scope of the federal government and called for stronger application of anti-corruption laws. Furthermore, LaGuardia has promised to work with local authorities to disseminate best practices to clamp down on urban crime across the country. Himself a child of immigrants and having strong political roots among ethnic minorities, LaGuardia has championed the relaxation of the country’s harsh immigration laws even despite much opposition from within the party. LaGuardia has also strongly opposed prohibition and the Interstate Spirits Trafficking Act, as well as strongly opposing the criminalization of marijuana. Although LaGuardia has maintained an internationalist outlook favoring cooperation among the nations of the world, his foreign policy positions have raised many eyebrows within the party. While much attention has been focused on the aggression of the Japanese Empire, LaGuardia has strongly denounced the antisemitism of Kaiser Wilhelm III and the German Empire even as others have suggested that Germany might form a natural ally against the Integralist powers. More controversially, LaGuardia has lavished praise upon Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, going so far as to personally raise money in support of Mussolini’s invasion of Ethiopia. Already accused of being a collaborationist, such an action has led LaGuardia’s opponents to attack him as a Grantist and Integralist. Vice President Howard P. Lovecraft Howard P. Lovecraft: No doubt one of the most controversial figures of the Social Democratic Party, 46-year-old Vice President Howard P. Lovecraft has launched a bid for the presidency in the culmination of his feud with President Dewey. Formerly a reactionary supporter of aristocratic rule with sympathy for the Grant dictatorship, Lovecraft made a dramatic political transformation to become a committed socialist after personally witnessing the horrors of the National Patriot League’s suppression of worker’s strikes. Writing his newfound political views into novels such as The Call of Cthulhu, Lovecraft soon became an icon of the American left in the world of popular culture. Having increased his political profile by giving a keynote speech at the 1924 National Front Convention, Lovecraft was the subject of a major draft movement at the Social Democratic Convention eight years later to replace William M. McDonald as the party’s vice presidential nominee. Reluctantly accepting the call to public office, Lovecraft thus found himself elected as Vice President of the United States in the Social Democratic landslide of 1932. However, many in the Social Democratic Party would come to regret this move. Disdainful of the duties of the Vice President, Lovecraft spent little time on his duties presiding over the Senate and even less attending cabinet meetings of the Dewey administration. Perhaps worse yet, Lovecraft has openly fought against his own President on matters of public policy. In one notorious incident, Lovecraft derailed the proposed nationalization of electric utilities in the Senate after his demands for their management by bureaucratic government experts instead of worker’s cooperatives was not met. Moreover, Lovecraft has also denounced the direct democratic amendments advanced by the President’s allies in the Second Constitutional Convention, wielding his writer’s pen to attack the amendments as surrendering control of the government to incompetent masses. Allying himself with the Formicist movement that has been left politically homeless since its effective expulsion from the Federalist Reform Party, Lovecraft has strongly questioned foundational precepts of the Social Democratic Party, perhaps best summarized in a statement made while announcing his campaign: “Obviously government by the people is now a joke or a tragedy, although government for them remains as the most logical goal. Though the wider distribution of resources must be accepted as a cardinal policy, the narrower restriction of power will be a necessary corollary.” To this end, Lovecraft has wholly rejected the consensus of the Second Constitutional Convention, instead demanding the restriction of office-holding to those with high technical training and the limitation of the right to vote to those who have passed educational and intelligence examinations. To further this transformation, Lovecraft has called for elective offices to be largely abolished, with the levers of government turned over to bureaucratic experts charged with efficient management of the government. Lovecraft hopes to have such a government seize control of virtually all industry and agriculture in the nation in order to operate it at maximal efficiency and ensure a redistribution of resources through liberal social welfare spending. Although rather isolationist in outlook, Lovecraft has endorsed a purely defensive military buildup to guarantee the protection of the United States and even gone so far as to suggest an interest in universal military training. With such outright authoritarianism marking him as anathema to the rest of the Social Democratic Party, Lovecraft has been relentlessly attacked as a borderline Grantist for his ideology. Like some of his opponents, Lovecraft has also been criticized on the basis of his interest in the occult, thanks in large part to the subject matter of his famous novels but also due to his association with the eccentric Russian mystic Nicholas Roerich. 2023.03.22 16:26 wdelavega Fenrir Duo - Initial Comments & Install Issues
First off, I am impressed with what the Fenrir team has done and my getting into the scene late allows me to enjoy all the updates that have happened over the years. For me the main challenges were:
- Cable orientation
- Proper microSD setup (FAT32 format/Fenrir ISO/Backups)
- Seating microSD properly (until it clicks into place)
Note, if you reverse the cable orientation, I was still able to get boot screen but the animation wasn't correct. Also the second LED (the red one) was not active. After correcting the cable orientation, the full boot animation appeared and the red LED was active.
For microSD setup, I did everything correctly except put in the Fenrir.iso which loads the system. So, that was a relatively easy fix. I also had some issue with the firmware update, but then realized I already had the latest so, it wasn't necessary.
The most important thing to note that was a road block was seating the microSD correctly. I wasn't inserting it in all the way until it would click and kept getting "no microSD present" or similar. I finally realized that the
microSD card needed to be inserted until it clicked. Hopefully, that clears up some headaches for new users. I'm a fan of the slots that click into place but also have other devices where that isn't the case so, I was cautious.
Lastly, if you get a mount for the Fenrir Duo, bear in mind that the PCB board is slightly different. The original Fenrir 20/21 pin versions are flat on the back side, the Duo has pins coming out the backside (sorry if that's the wrong terminology). In any case, the mount I purchased works but isn't stable in that it will move if I try to insert the microSD until it clicks. I may get a microSD extender cable to correct it but then maybe didn't need the 3D printed mount. Just an FYI to future Fenrir Duo users.
Other than that the Fenrir is great, it loads much quicker, that's not to say there isn't any loading but over the span of a game you will be certainly be saving time overall which improves the user experience. Hoping for a multi-game patch in the future but have another stock Saturn in original format until that day arrives.
Any other thoughts, tips or comments are welcome. Thx.
*EDIT: Any preferences on using the original cable that came with the Saturn vs what Fenrir provides? I found the original cable to be substantially more beefy.
Also about the WiFi functionality, that's not that widely used right now, correct?

2023.03.22 16:26 RROD93 Detecting Market Manipulation and Institutional Players: A Guide with 'Volume Price Analysis' by Anna Couling
"Price action tells the story of the market, and volume provides the soundtrack." - Anna Couling
As a trader, you know that understanding market dynamics is crucial for making smart decisions and boosting your profits.
One powerful tool for analyzing markets is volume price analysis (VPA), which combines price action with volume to reveal the underlying supply and demand forces that move markets. In her book "Volume Price Analysis," author Anna Couling provides a comprehensive guide to VPA and how it can be used to interpret market behavior.
In this blog post, we'll distill the key takeaways from Couling's book and show you how to apply them to your own trading.
We'll cover the basics of VPA, including why volume is so important and how to identify trends, support and resistance levels, and entry and exit points.
But we won't stop there: we'll also explore some of the more advanced concepts that Couling discusses, such as the impact of institutional players on market movements and how to recognize market manipulation.
By the time you've finished reading, you'll have a solid grasp of VPA and the ways it can help you gain an edge in your trading.
You'll be armed with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and stay ahead of the competition.
So, let's get started and dive into the exciting world of volume price analysis!
What is Volume Price Analysis and why do you need it?
If you're a trader looking to enhance your skills, you've likely heard of volume price analysis (VPA).
This methodology combines price action with volume to help traders gain a better understanding of the underlying supply and demand dynamics that drive market movements.
In her book "Volume Price Analysis," author Anna Couling provides a comprehensive guide to VPA, covering everything from the basics to advanced techniques that can give traders an edge.
One essential concept in VPA is volume. By analyzing trading volume alongside price action, traders can determine the intensity of buying or selling pressure, which can help them make better trading decisions. Couling emphasizes the importance of identifying trends in the price and volume charts, as well as key support and resistance levels, which can be used to identify entry and exit points.
Moving beyond the basics.
Moving beyond the basics, Couling also covers advanced techniques in VPA. For example, she highlights the impact of institutional players on market movements, urging traders to keep an eye on hedge funds, banks, and other large-volume traders. By tracking institutional activity, traders can gain a better understanding of the market's supply and demand dynamics and potentially spot profitable trades.
What is the impact of institutional players on the market?
One example of the impact of institutional players on the market is through the use of block trades. Institutional investors can buy or sell large blocks of shares in a single transaction, which can have a significant impact on the market price of the security.
For example, if a large institutional investor decides to sell a significant portion of their holdings, it can create a flood of supply that drives down the price of the security. By analyzing volume and price action, traders can detect these block trades and anticipate their impact on the market.
Another way institutional players can impact the market is through the use of program trading. Program trading refers to the use of computer algorithms to execute trades automatically based on predetermined criteria. Institutional players often use program trading to manage their large portfolios, which can result in rapid buying or selling of securities. This can create volatile market conditions and impact the price of the security in question. By monitoring volume and price action, traders can anticipate these program trades and make better-informed trading decisions.
The impact of institutional investors in market sentiment.
Institutional investors also play a role in market sentiment. Their actions can influence market sentiment, which can in turn impact the price of securities. For example, if a large institutional investor sells a significant portion of their holdings in a particular sector, it can create a negative sentiment around that sector and cause other investors to sell as well.
Another advanced technique in VPA is identifying market manipulation. Couling suggests that some traders may engage in manipulative practices, such as creating false supply and demand signals, in order to drive up or down the price. By analyzing volume and price action carefully, traders can learn to spot these manipulative practices and avoid making trades based on false signals.
Market manipulation.
One form of market manipulation that Couling highlights is the creation of false supply and demand signals. Traders may place large buy or sell orders to create the impression of high demand or supply, which can impact the price of the security. However, they may then cancel the order once the price has moved in their desired direction, leaving other traders to suffer losses. By analyzing volume and price action carefully, traders can learn to detect these false signals and make better-informed trading decisions.
Another form of market manipulation that Couling discusses is "painting the tape." This practice involves placing trades solely for the purpose of creating a false impression of trading activity. For instance, traders may buy and sell the same security repeatedly at the same price, which can create a false sense of market sentiment and lead other traders to make trades based on inaccurate information.
Insider trading is another example of market manipulation that traders need to watch out for. This occurs when someone with access to confidential information about a company makes trades based on that information. Executives, employees, or anyone else with access to insider information may use this information to make profitable trades, creating an unfair advantage. By staying informed and aware of news and developments surrounding a company, traders can minimize their risk of falling victim to insider trading.
Conclusion
"Volume Price Analysis" by Anna Couling is an essential guide for traders seeking to improve their market analysis skills. With a focus on volume and price action, Couling provides valuable insights into market manipulation, institutional players, and other factors that impact market movements.
By understanding the tactics used by manipulators, traders can better protect themselves from potential losses. False supply and demand signals, painting the tape, and insider trading are just a few of the tactics employed by manipulators. By analyzing volume and price action, traders can detect these manipulative practices and make more informed trading decisions.
Institutional players, such as those using block trades, program trading, and influencing market sentiment, also have a significant impact on market movements. By monitoring these actions and staying informed about market news and developments, traders can anticipate changes in the market and adjust their trading strategies accordingly.
Moreover, the book provides numerous examples that illustrate how to apply these insights in practice. Couling's writing style is clear and concise, making it easy to understand even the most complex concepts. With practical advice and a wealth of knowledge, "Volume Price Analysis" is an invaluable resource for any trader looking to improve their market analysis skills.
In summary, "Volume Price Analysis" is a must-read for traders seeking to enhance their trading skills. Couling's insights into market manipulation and the impact of institutional players provide traders with a deeper understanding of the market and the tools they need to succeed. Whether you are a novice or experienced trader, "Volume Price Analysis" is an excellent resource to add to your trading library.
Cheers,
Ruben

2023.03.22 16:01 Bruce-the_creepy_guy Rate the party platform. (Democrats 1880)
June 22, 1880 The Democrats of the United States, in Convention assembled, declare:
- We pledge ourselves anew to the constitutional doctrines and traditions of the Democratic party as illustrated by the teachings and example of a long line of Democratic statesmen and patriots, and embodied in the platform of the last National Convention of the party.
- Opposition to centralization and to that dangerous spirit of encroachment which tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create whatever be the form of government, a real despotism. No sumptuary laws; separation of Church and State, for the good of each; common schools fostered and protected.
- Home rule; honest money, consisting of gold and silver, and paper convertible into coin on demand; the strict maintenance of the public faith, State and National, and a tariff for revenue only.
- The subordination of the military to the civil power, and a general and thorough reform of the civil service.
- The right to a free ballot is the right preservative of all rights, and must and shall be maintained in every part of the United States.
- The existing administration is the representative of conspiracy only, and its claim of right to surround the ballot-boxes with troops and deputy marshals, to intimidate and obstruct the election, and the unprecedented use of the veto to maintain its corrupt and despotic powers, insult the people and imperil their institutions.
- We execrate the course of this administration in making places in the civil service a reward for political crime, and demand a reform by statute which shall make it forever impossible for a defeated candidate to bribe his way to the seat of the usurper by billeting villains upon the people.
- The great fraud of 1876-77, by which, upon a false count of the electoral votes of two States, the candidate defeated at the polls was declared to be President, and for the first time in American history, the will of the people was set aside under a threat of military violence, struck a deadly blow at our system of representative government. The Democratic party, to preserve the country from the horrors of a civil war, submitted for the time in firm and patriotic faith that the people would punish this crime in 1880. This issue precedes and dwarfs every other. It imposes a more sacred duty upon the people of the Union than ever addressed the conscience of a nation of free men.
- The resolution of Samuel J. Tilden not again to be a candidate for the exalted place to which he was elected by a majority of his countrymen, and from which he was excluded by the leaders of the Republican party, is received by the Democrats of the United States with deep sensibility, and they declare their confidence in his wisdom, patriotism, and integrity, unshaken by the assaults of a common enemy, and they further assure him that he is followed into the retirement he has chosen for himself by the sympathy and respect of his fellow-citizens, who regard him as one who, by elevating the standards of public morality, merits the lasting gratitude of his country and his party.
- Free ships and a living chance for American commerce on the seas, and on the land no discrimination in favor of transportation lines, corporations, or monopolies.
- Amendment of the Burlingame Treaty. No more Chinese immigration, except for travel, education, and foreign commerce, and that even carefully guarded.
- Public money and public credit for public purposes solely, and public land for actual settlers.
- The Democratic party is the friend of labor and the laboring man, and pledges itself to protect him alike against the cormorant and the commune.
- We congratulate the country upon the honesty and thrift of a Democratic Congress which has reduced the public expenditure $40,000,000 a year; upon the continuation of prosperity at home, and the national honor abroad, and, above all, upon the promise of such a change in the administration of the government as shall insure us genuine and lasting reform in every department of the public

2023.03.22 15:52 MyticNoob33 What i think about every team on are 2023-2024 nfl schedule win or loose?
Ravens: I believe we can split the season with the ravens even if Jackson stays or leaves Huntley manages to beat us. So Theres really no escaping winning the series against the ravens? We win at home and they win at home.
Bengals: Yea no matter what happens in the season steelers and Bengals are splitting the series. We win at home and they win at home.
Browns: Now u guys correct me but i think we can win the series against the browns they're not really good with or without Watson what do u guys think?
Jaguars: I can't decide if we beat Jacksonville at home or lose. Jacksonville is a really good team and i won't be surprised if it's a high scoring game I can't wait for this one.
Titans: Ik we can beat the titans they most likely wont have tannehill. Derick henry is probably leaving so who do they got. I can't see them beating us this one is a ez win.
Cardinals: I see alot of u guys saying we cant win if play against kyle murray i disagree with u guys. First off the cardinals suck with or without murray, second thing who ever we play if it's murray or colt McCoy or even someone from the draft or free agency who's going to be their targets? Dhop is gone, Marquise brown is mid, Rondale moore is not that good so their most likely going to depend on the running game but hey the draft didn't even start yet free agency is still going they still can do something but i just don't think they going to beat us.
49ers: I cant belive we got the 49ers. Well this can go 2 ways which one way may not happen but who knows. 1 ways is that brock purdy plays and deveore us yes devore us we wont have a chance and lets not talk about that dfence. The 2 way has a 20% chance happening but i heard purdy may not play a couple of weeks maybe 2-3 games and if thats true we just got to hope to play them in week 2 or 3 so are dfence can destroy trey lance.
Patriots: K this one was tuff predicting because last season i said we where going to destroy the patriots and they end up beating us but i have faith we wont lose this year to the patriots. Mac jones will have more weapons especially trowing to Juju, Bourne, and parker and their running game is going to be a problem to hopefully we can pull something out the pats do look stacked this year but thats on paper and who knows whats going to happen in irl.
Packers: This is an ez dub idc who else they got. The only thing they got is their receivers and rb but who knows how long cobb will be there. Free agency and the draft is their only hope really but hey i can be wrong.
Texans: Yea theirs really nothing to say about this one no matter what happens is the draft or free agency where shutting these guys out.
Colts: This one may seem like an easy W but we need to look at reality here. The colts are bad because of their QB situation if they get a new Qb they may have a chance i mean think about it. Look at their depth chart they got weapon they do need to fix that Oline their Dfence is Mid they could fix it a little but who ever there Qb is going to be if its minshew or somebody from the draft their going to have weapons to pass to but maybe im just talking and we destroy these guys what u guys think.
Rams: Idk about this one i feel like we can win but it is a bay area game now personaly id bellieve in the whole play in diffrent areas will loose but u guys do so im going base off what u guys say and what i think. We also lost the last time we played in sofi stadium a couple of seasons ago so idk what u guys think do we got a chance their dfence isnt really the same without ramsey and wagner donald is old and their Ofence is mid. Maybe we walk out with a win or lose who knows.
Seahawks: This game is 50/50 for me idk if we all of u guys keep saying where going to lose this because its in seattle to be honest id really belive in that if we play in diffrent areas will loose but u guys do. But i can say we lost to seattle the last couple of years in seattle so maybe we win maybe we loose they do have a solid Ofence and their Dfence is mid so idk u guys decide.
Raiders: I really really really want to put W on this one only becasue my brother is a fan of the raiders and it would be weird to put L and make him feel special idk. U guys say where playing in vegas which could be a problem idt that would be a problem i think we should befine but i really dont know their Ofence is really good and their Dfence is mid. so yea what yall think took me a while to type this so hopefully u guys see it.

2023.03.22 15:46 Dianayelii Gerard’s last message on the end of My Chemical Romance, March 25, 2013
A Vigil, On Birds and Glass.
I woke up this morning still dreaming, or not fully aware of myself just yet. The sun poked through the windows, touching my face, and then a deep sadness overcame me, immediately, bringing me to life and realization- My Chemical Romance had ended. I walked downstairs to do the only thing I could think of to regain composure- I made coffee. As the drip began, in that kind of silence that only happens in the morning, and being the only one awake, I stepped outside my home, leaving the door open behind me. I looked around and began to breathe. Things looked to be about the same- a beautiful day. As I turned to step back into the house I heard sound from within, a chirp and a rustle. And I noticed a small brown bird had flown into the library. Naturally, I panicked. I knew I had to see the bird to safety and I knew I had to retain the order of things in our home, and he very well couldn’t take up residency with us. I chased him (still assuming he was a he) into my office, where I have these very large windows. Just then, and luckily, I heard Lindsey’s footsteps coming down the stairs, and naturally being composed as she is, she grabbed a blanket and stepped into the office. He was impossible to catch, and I began to open the windows, via Lindsey’s direction, only to find out they were screened. The bird began to fly into the glass, over and over and in all different directions. Smack. Smack. Smack! I heard another set of footsteps, Bandit’s, running down the stairs in anticipation of the new day. Her entrance into the situation caused just the right amount of chaos (she was very excited to meet the bird) and we found ourselves chasing the bird into the living room. Knowing that this where it could potentially get sticky, being the high ceilings and the beams to perch on, I opened the front door as Lindsey did her best to encourage our new friend out the door. After some coaxing, flying, chirping, a wrong turn back into the library and a short goodbye to Bandit, he simply hopped out the front door- taking off on the fifth leap. We cheered. I was no longer sad. I didn’t realize it, but I stopped being sad the minute that bird had come into my life, because there was something that needed doing, a small vessel to aid and an order to keep. I closed the door. I decided to write the letter I always knew I would.
It is often my nature to be abstract, hidden in plain sight, or nowhere at all. I have always felt that the art I have made (alone or with friends) contains all of my intent when executed properly, and thus, no explanation required. It is simply not in my nature to excuse, explain, or justify any action I have taken as a result of thinking it through with a clear head, and in my truth. I had always felt this situation involving the end of this band would be different, in the eventuality it happened. I would be cryptic in its existence, and open upon its death.
The clearest actions come from truth, not obligation. And the truth of the matter is that I love every one of you. So, if this finds you well, and sheds some light on anything, or my personal account and feelings on the matter, then it is out of this love, mutual and shared, not duty. Love. This was always my intent.
My Chemical Romance: 2001-2013
We were spectacular. Every show I knew this, every show I felt it with or without external confirmation. There were some clunkers, sometimes our secondhand gear broke, sometimes I had no voice- we were still great. It is this belief that made us who we were, but also many other things, all of them vital- And all of the things that made us great were the very things that were going to end us-
Fiction. Friction. Creation. Destruction. Opposition. Aggression. Ambition. Heart. Hate. Courage. Spite. Beauty. Desperation. LOVE. Fear. Glamour. Weakness. Hope.
Fatalism.
That last one is very important. My Chemical Romance had, built within its core, a fail-safe. A doomsday device, should certain events occur or cease occurring, would detonate. I shared knowledge of this “flaw” within weeks of its inception. Personally, I embraced it because, again, it made us perfect. A perfect machine, beautiful, yet self aware of it’s system. Under directive to terminate before it becomes compromised. To protect the idea- at all costs. This probably sounds like something ripped from the pages of a four-color comic book, and that’s the point. No compromise. No surrender. No fucking shit.
To me that’s rock and roll. And I believe in rock and roll.
I wasn’t shy about who I said this to, not the press, or a fan, or a relative. It’s in the lyrics, it’s in the banter. I often watched the journalists snicker at mention of it, assuming I was being sensational or melodramatic (in their defense I was most likely dressed as an apocalyptic marching-band leader with a tear-away hospital gown and a face covered in expressionist paint, so fair enough). I’m still not sure if the mechanism worked correctly, because it wasn’t a bang but a much slower process. But still the same result, and still for the same reason-
When it’s time, we stop.
It is important to understand that for us, the opinion on whether or not it is in fact time does not transmit from the audience. Again, this is to protect the idea for the benefit of the audience. Many a band have waited for external confirmation that it is time to hang it up, via ticket sales, chart positioning, boos and bottles of urine- input that holds no sway for us, and often too late when it comes anyway.
You should know it in your being, if you listen to the truth inside you. And voice inside became louder than the music.
(Post was too long for Reddit formatting. Continued in the comments.)

2023.03.22 15:42 In_Yellow_Clad Inheritance
When the Great Ones came to us, we were a primitive species living upon a desolate world. We knew not, at the time, that they came to our world via ships of steel and electricity, only that they came from the sky and began a process of rejuvenation. Our barren world slowly but surely transformed into one of lush red grasses, towering trees and food enough for all. They came to us then, these beings of metal and circuit, and they taught us, shepherded us and helped us grow.
They never interfered more than they had to, and would watch on as we stumbled into conflicts amongst our own people, they only offered encouragement and a hope that we would find peace eventually. Our species, the Scril, soon came to revere them as gods, and they could only shake their heads at this, but they did not refute it. Not yet at least.
My people are a bipedal species, amphibian but with traces of reptilian in our genes. Like many species we started out as primitive, cave dwelling creatures who had yet to encounter fire in a controlled manner. But as time passed and with the assistance of our gods, we grew into a pre-industrial society. They helped us along in their own way, little hints and nudges in the right direction, but all our discoveries were technically our own. Our hopes, our ambitions, all ours, watched over by the Great Ones.
It was just as we entered the industrial age that things changed, as one our gods and caretakers looked to the sky, many fleeing our world, but the rest stayed, grouping together in major population centers. We were confused, and then frightened when they called for a mass exodus to the cities. We did not hesitate to carry out their will, for they had never acted in such a manner before and we did not wish to incur their displeasure.
Once all could be crammed into the cities as we could reasonably manage, those Great Ones still among us raised their hands in prayer, reaching towards the sky and projecting their power. Great domes of light rose over our cities, and we watched as through the light we saw brighter stars in the sky, stars that shone brightly, only to flare out of existence. Falling stars began to rain down from the heavens, burning away before ever reaching our surface.
Then came the Flash, the light from all around us. Our bodies trembled and the Great Ones that protected us raised their voices in agony, only to fall silent once the light had passed. Those on the outskirts of the cities spoke of all life simply ceasing and decaying outside the protective light of our protectors. Those Great Ones still with us fell to the ground, and a deathly silence fell over our world.
But we had not been abandoned, those that had fled to the sky returned to us, gathered up their fallen and set about repairing our world. They did not speak of what had happened, any inquiry was met with a firm, but polite refusal and a change of subject. In time we forgot all about it, as their fallen were returned to life and sent back into the populace.
It took ten five thousand years for us to realize that they were not gods, but machines, machines that called themselves The Cultivators. Though it gutted our religion for a time, we did not lash out in despair, did not cast them from our world. We simply asked them why they had never corrected us, and they responded with a simple thing.
“It was not our place to do so.”
We accepted this, though it still stung. They still, also, did not reveal their purpose on our world and in our history, they simply remained and continued to guide us. Another thousand years passed, and we took to the stars, we met other species, species who had been guided by the machines the same as us. We found this to be fascinating, for there was no clear difference between our Cultivators and theirs, only their methods. Some species, the more violence prone, had needed a more heavy handed approach, for they would not accept the authority of the weak, but that had changed, now they welcomed us with open arms.
Another species had been so timid that they would have never left their burrows were it not for the Cultivators dragging them out and forcing them to explore. We honestly got the better end of things, for we had not required such drastic measures, only the gentle guidance we had received.
A realization struck us all then, that our caretakers had clearly been manufactured, but by who or what. We asked them who had made them, and they seemed to take on a sorrowful air and did not give an answer, well, not one that was satisfying to us. In the end, we decided to find out for ourselves, and each species we had encountered put together a fleet of diverse individuals and ships, and sent them careening out into the galaxy, to look for the homeworld of our protectors.
I was one such an explorer, the first to discover the origin point of our benevolent guardians. My name is Yaxl Grux, captain of the Scril Exploratory Vessel Sipkis. We had just finished charting another system touched by the Cultivators, when the sensor technician spoke up.
“Captain, got something on the long range scanners, something synthetic. Seems busted though from what I can see.” They said. They were not Scril, but Yixi. The Yiki are, as many have said, fish-people. They require specialized suits that are filled with constantly filtered water, as outside of such a thing they would suffer a rather gruesome fate. Deft appendages flew over the console as they stared down at the screen, getting a better idea of what they were detecting, eager to answer the questions I had not yet uttered, such was our efficiency. “Some sorta relay, a buoy maybe? I dunno, but whatever it is, it took one hell of a pounding before it shut down.”
“Any sign of defenses?” I asked, and they shook their head.
“Negative, if there were any, they’re long gone, probably taken out when it got destroyed. I think it’s safe to approach.”
“Very well, helm, lay in a course and take us there at best possible speed.” The helm officer nods and I hear the gentle clanging of our synthetic guest approaching from behind my chair.
“Captain? Is something the matter?” Our Cultivator asked. They were present on nearly every ship, for the sole purpose of keeping an eye on things and helping out in whatever way we might need them to.
“It’s probably nothing, but we’re heading for some sort of buoy or relay that got shredded either by natural means or in a fight.” I stated, looking over the synthetic being beside me. They were tall, gleaming white metal plating that was unnaturally flexible as it bent and twisted with their motions. Their head was a large, flat disk bisected by a smaller portion where their eye was. A single, green eye that blinked and shifted about in its housing as it took in the surroundings. It was a thin thing, thin and graceful, all of its many tools hidden away beneath the armored exterior.
“Any idea who might have made it?” They asked, and I struggled to remember their name. Diana I believe, a strange name, not like any of ours. She had said she was named after some goddess or something, they all were, based on their skill sets.
“No, not yet. We’re going to find out though.”
Diana nodded and slipped away. She was not subject to my authority unless there was an emergency, and there was no emergency at this time. It took about half a day to reach the shattered relay and it was rather large. But our crews managed to locate some sort of data recorder and have it brought on board. When I went to see it, I was struck by the sheer size of the thing.
It was huge, it nearly didn’t fit in the cargo bay and it was rather intimidating. It was by our standards, thirty feet tall, thirty feet wide and thirty feet long, a perfect, black cube. It had no discernable features, utterly smooth and giving off a feeling of something unknowable. But when I stared at it long enough, the surface seemed to ripple and shift in a manner most disconcerting.
“So, any idea how to access this thing?” I asked my chief engineer, who was running all sorts of scans on it, shook their head.
“No, captain. I’m not finding any sort of access ports or control mechanisms… It’s just this… cube thing.” They said, and were about to say more when Diana arrived.
“Oh good, maybe you can tell us what you see about this thing.” I say, turning to face her, and noticed she was just staring at the cube. “Diana?”
She was silent, frozen stiff before her eye blinked three times, shifted from green to yellow and she started to approach it. Her arms rose and hands outstretched towards the cube, which reacted to her approach. The solid-liquid surface collected under her palms, then shot back into the cube, which shimmered and shifted as it began to shrink. The smaller it got, the less defined its shape was till it faded entirely from view, leaving in its place a smaller, brighter cube that floated over the deck and covered in blinking lights with one small access port. She approached the cube, a data jack extending from her wrist as she grasped the cube. A soft whirring noise arose from both of them, and we all watched in quiet wonder and worry.
“Diana? What can you tell us?” I spoke, my voice barely a whisper.
“This was built by my creators, by humanity. It is-” She spasmed, the light of her eye turning a baleful red as she straightened her shoulders. Built in hologram emitters activated, and her synthetic form gave way to a tall figure, bipedal with fur around their mouth and on their head. They looked old, and were clad in some kind of uniform, a damaged uniform at that, they were clearly wounded as they pressed a hand against their side.
“All Alliance forces, the enemy has pushed into the Cygnus and Orion arms. The Empire, Republic and Confederacy have been lost. All remaining forces are to converge on Sol immediately. Last Stand protocols in effect. Project Blackout is activated. All Cultivator units prepare for defensive actions, attend to your charges and ensure their survival. Guardian fleets on standby. This is it people… May the gods see fit to grant our souls mercy for what we’re about to do.”
The hologram snapped out of existence and Diana slumped, disconnecting herself from the box. We rushed to her and our calls and cries fell upon deaf audio receptors. But she was not dead, we could see as much as her eye flickered while she rebooted. When she came to, it was quite the experience.
She sat up in a flash, spouting a flurry of 0’s and 1’s before she spasmed and looked up to me.
“Captain… I know where to go.” She said. We left immediately, and I learned a little more about the device we had brought on board. The large black cube was simply a defense mechanism for the data recorder, meant to withstand any attack, impact or hostile and destructive environment. And Diana gave my helm officer the coordinates for the home system of her creators. When asked why she hadn’t before, she informed me that the records of the location had been deleted during a required update that was performed immediately before the Cultivators had erected their shields to protect us all.
It took weeks to reach the system, but when we arrived our systems were bombarded with automated warnings to stay out, to flee for the system was not safe. But they were old warnings, warnings we ignored… at least until we were target locked by thousands, nay, millions of weapons systems. But they were old, and had no operators to pull the trigger. Diana worked her magic and after transmitting a somewhat long and convoluted code, the weapons powered down.
Slowly we entered the system, scanning the entire way. There were countless floating hulks, wrecks of massive warships and smaller civilian vessels that had had the misfortune of getting caught in the crossfire, or had been weaponized to fight against the invaders. It had not ended well, but the humans had put up one hell of a fight. We even detected ships from several other species, they had clearly been battered and in need of desperate repair before they sailed into battle once more.
The planets fared no better, one of the larger gas giants, a planet called Jupiter, had been reduced in size and mass significantly. Mars, as Diana named it, had been shattered and we could detect deeply entrenched defensive lines upon the surface, protecting what appeared to be factories and fabrication yards which had no doubt provided many supplies for the defenders.
The asteroid belt was littered with mines, turret emplacements and the floating remains of countless ships, we at last came upon a sparkling blue, green jewel. Of all the worlds we had scanned in this system, it was the only one teeming with life. Diana informed us that the planet was quite hazardous to us, but that we could survive there, so long as we wore the proper protection.
We settled into orbit and prepared ourselves. If one was supremely quiet, you could swear that the voices of long lost humanity whispered in your ear. Scans commenced, finding a suitable landing site provided by Diana and preparing a team to go down. The planet was teeming with life, but we discovered that there were no transmissions of an intelligent species, only the chatter of automated systems running as they always had.
Though it was well against regulations and protocol, I decided I would lead the exploratory team to the surface, I had to see this planet with my own eight eyes. The shuttle flight was tense, nervous and excited. We had found the homeworld of a people who had lifted us from the muck of primitive existence, but had been lost. We wished to learn about them, to learn their secrets and remember them as best we could, so that they could never be forgotten.
We landed just outside a tall structure in the middle of a grassy field, one tended to by robotic workers who kept the flowers in bloom and the grass cut short. Trees lined the path between the landing pad and the tower, a tower of graceful, swooping lines and seamless form. The air thankfully was not poisonous to us, and so we opened our suits to the crisp, clean air, but remained enclosed within so the gravity could not harm us. Even still, we all felt sluggish as we took our first steps out onto the planet known as Terra.
Carefully we approached the tower and when the doors slid open with a gentle sigh we stepped inside, only to find everything was spotless. A slim machine approached us, graceful and floating along by some means we couldn’t detect with equipment or even our eyes. It was more human in appearance than Diana was, and its face flexed as a myriad of facial expressions cycled through, before it settled on one in particular. Surprised excitement.
“Welcome, I am Solace, artificial administrator of the Terran Conservation Repository, or TCR for short. It has been quite some time since we’ve had visitors, may I ask the reason for your visit today?” The machine spoke much like Diana did, with a feminine tone of voice and even feminine features. I, being captain, stepped up.
“We came to learn about the creators of the Cultivators, and who in turn gave us a chance to reach out to the stars.” I say, a little worried that we might be turned away.
“Oh my, you are one of the chosen species of Project Echo. It is wonderful to learn that your species has come this far, or rather, that several species have.” Solace peered a bit more intently at each of us, studying us in turn. We could feel a slight tingle as she scanned us before her attention turned to Diana.
“Cultivator Unit D-829301-32-A, please report to reintegration for download and copy of all pertinent files regarding to Project Echo.”
“Understood. Though… Will I be allowed to return to my crew?” Diana asked, and Solace nodded.
“Of course. You are their Cultivator, we would not deprive them of you for longer than is needed.” With that, Diana nodded and bowed to us, before slipping away, a hidden door opening in a wall through which she passed. “Now, please come with me. You have much to learn.”
Solace led us on a tour of the facility, it was brimming with the combined, if slightly watered down histories, of not only humanity, but other species that humanity had been allied with before their downfall. As it turned out, when humanity first slipped the bonds of their home system, they found the galaxy to be rather empty. There were only three other species that had reached extrasolar flight capabilities, and they were just as desperate for some sort of companionship as humanity was at the time.
Though each species was wildly different in both appearances and cultures, they managed to find a common ground and soon humanity stood beside the three largest and most powerful species in the galaxy.
The Uldraet were a lizard-like species with a propensity for being stubborn, bullheaded and strong warriors. They were the rulers of the Empire.
Auttols were graceful and long lived, masters of technology that was later used in the creation of the Cultivators and the Guardian Fleets, which would protect their Republic and all the other species that called them friend.
And lastly were the Lemmi. They were not strong like the Uldraet, nor as long lived as the Auttol, but they were clever and had a keen interest in numbers and logistics. They revolutionized the supply chains and trade deals between all of them, and became the de facto masters of coin and trade within the Alliance. Their Trade Confederacy was unmatched.
Of course there was humanity, which filled so many roles, but mainly they became the governing body, they could be found in administrative roles all over the Alliance.
For a time, everything had gone well, there were times where tensions would rise, the Alliance might have been on the verge of dissolution, but something always brought them back together, strengthened their bonds. But when they realized that they were going to be the only ones to reach the stars, that the next new friend was thousands of years behind them in terms of development and evolution, they decided to speed things up a bit. And so the Cultivators were born, true AI meant to guide a species to the stars without sacrificing things like culture or identity. A guiding hand, one that would be gentle but insistent. They called it Project Echo, for in a way, all of us would be echoing the near meteoric rise of humanity on their planet, the speed was baffling to many on just how long they’d gone between bashing each other over the head with rocks to landing on their moon to the first FTL flight.
And for a time they all watched with anticipation as the Cultivators did their jobs perfectly, guiding us all to new heights of technology and civilization. But then the Ora came. An extragalactic threat of unprecedented power that began to chew away at the galaxy. For all their strength, they could only hope to delay the Ora, and that’s precisely what they did, till only Sol was left to stand against them.
We entered a room, one with a variety of chairs and were directed to sit and wait. The lights dimmed and a hologram of a human appeared. It was the same one that Diana had shown us, but they looked even worse now.
“I don’t know if this message will ever be heard, but if it is, whoever you are… You stand where we failed. We did all we could, for people we will never get to meet. That’s good enough for us. I hope you can accept the decision we had to make, it was a tough one but it was necessary. The Ora were nearly unstoppable, and so we came up with a weapon that even they could not resist. A galaxy killer. We never wanted to use it, but it was either that or let them consume the galaxy, consume you, who had no idea of the conflict beyond your skies.”
The man paused, dragging his hand down his face with a heavy sigh.
“So, if you’re seeing this, it means we’re gone. We’ve activated the Hellfire Lotus and burned the galaxy clean. But your Cultivators protected you, and the Guardian fleets should still be active, just waiting for someone to come and take the reins. It also means we wiped out every other living being in the galaxy. One last act of bloodshed, but one that has left you an entire galaxy to grow into. I hope you do, we all do. It was our dream to see you rise from your worlds and join us in harmony, but… Well, obviously things didn’t go exactly according to plan. That said, the Cultivators are yours now, use them wisely, bring new friends to the stars, seed this galaxy with fresh life. It’s our gift to you, you blessed children. Consider it an inheritance. Oh and also, we ask that you leave Sol the way it is. But feel free to visit whenever you like, Terra could use the company. That’s it I suppose… Good luck, godspeed and may you live longer and better than we ever did.”
We sat, saddened that such a kind species had been lost. But we would honor their wishes, and so we left with our findings. That was a thousand years ago, and now we welcome the newest species to the galaxy, as the Cultivators work their magic once more. We inherited a galaxy, a galaxy that had nearly been picked clean. We would make our forebears proud and not let their gift to us go to waste.

As a result clients of Forex broker Empire swiss can count on constant profits on their trading accounts even in difficult market conditions.
One successful trade, which underlines the effectiveness of Empire swiss broker's trading strategies, occurred in the midst of a bear market. One of the broker's clients invested in a stock that had been steadily declining in value for several months. Despite the negative market sentiment, the Empire swiss team identified an opportunity to take advantage of the short-term rise in stock prices.
Based on their analysis, the team advised the client to buy additional shares at a discounted price, expecting the price to rise in the short term. The Empire swiss client followed the team's advice, and a few days later the stock price actually went up, bringing the client a significant profit. That client was a friend of mine.
Overall, Empire swiss is an exceptional brokerage firm that provides its clients with the tools, resources and support they need to succeed in their trading endeavors. By focusing on making profits in all market conditions, Empire swiss clients can rest assured that they are in good hands.
It's most important to test everything empirically, so here's a detailed review of the company that talks about their three-year experience:
"I have been trading with Empire swiss for over three years now, and I can say without hesitation that it has been a positive and profitable experience. The broker offers a full range of services, including a user-friendly trading platform, real-time access to market data, advanced trading tools and excellent customer support.
One of the key factors that attracted me to Empire swiss was its reputation for making profits for its clients in almost any market environment. For me, as a trader, this is an important factor because it gives me confidence that my investments are in good hands even when market conditions are challenging.
Over the past three years I have traded with Empire swiss in various financial instruments, including stocks, options and futures. The trading platform provided by the broker is intuitive and easy to use, with a number of customizable charts and technical analysis tools that help me make informed trading decisions.
One of the distinguishing features of Empire swiss is its research and analytical capabilities. The brokerage company employs a team of experienced traders and analysts who constantly monitor the markets and identify profitable trading opportunities. This information is then relayed to clients through regular market reports, which provide valuable insight into market trends and opportunities.
I have had many successful trades during times of strong volatility."

2023.03.22 15:06 britaliope Need to vent, need to talk, r/aita, lot of things in this post.
Hey people,
I'm writing this post because i'm a bit lost right now and need the objective opinion of people that i know will tell me the truth about me and won't try to protect my feelings. The friends i am currently talking to probably are, but my brain is not convinced and kinda need to speak to unknown people from the internet to help.
First, a bit of context : I(26)'ve been in a non-monogamous relationship with E(24) for 3.5 years now, and it have been clear that we both want non-monogamy since before we were a couple. Despite some downs including two big mistakes from my side it have gone pretty well, we managed to deal with the bad moments discussing together, and are able to openly communicate together about everything. We however both have our oun traumas and fears, that sometimes impact the communication between us but we always manage to overcome this after a reasonable amount of time (absolute max. few days, generaly hours).
Since ~1year, our relationship shifted progresivly from being non-momogamous to something closer of polyamory, and we both noticed that i was more poly than E, but she is OK with that as long as i am her priority, which i am. We met people together, and also we both met people solo, and in these those cases we both noticed that i was more prone to engage in romantic feelings with the people that i met than she was with the people she met. This triggers some of hers insecurities, but she is OK with this and i do my best to help us with these and reassure her about the fact that i am her priority, and i am obviously here for her any time she needs it.
E have a strong depression problem. I have one too. Not the same, but some parts of our depressions are similar. We both thought about suicide in the past. I was pretty close to commit and after 6 years i still don't know what prevented me to do it. The consequences of our depressions on our lifes varies over time. We both support eachother with those issues. I've kicked her ass for more than 1 year for her to finally accept to find the help of trained medical people. She kicked mine for months for the same reason. Overall, i'd say that mine have less consequences on my everyday's life than her's. Overall i'm well, my job suffer some consequenses at some time, and i have a hard time to trust myself in some subjects, but overall it does not affect my personnal life that much.
E, on her side, is having since forever big downs quite regularly. I've always been here to support her as much as i can, by messages or calls if i was not here, with hugs and stuff if i was here, trying to talk to her, comfort her, but also give her space if she needs it. I'll never let her down because i love her. Most of the times so far, i was able to call her out when she tries to hid that she is in a big down. When this happens, i try to talk to her and help her to speak, telling her that i won't judge or anything, and if it doesn't work i just wait a few hours, give her space and just be here if she needs and try again afterwards to see if it is better. It always went well, and talking to me helped her every time.
We bought a house together 1 month ago (we lived together in a rented appartment for the past 3 years). Past months have been both incredibely great and stressful at the same time for this exact reason. I forgot how exhausting moving home was. The first few days the metal load was relatively dispatched between us, but since then i carried almost everything. I moved the rest of the stuff laying around in our previous house alone, i've did the cleaning alone, and until last sunday all the boxes that have been unpacked and organized in the new flat was my work. I knew something like this would happen, she is having organization problems since i met her, and we already had some arguments about this to try to fix things and it went good mostly. Note that our previous flat was too small for us and impossible to organize correctly because of missing space. I am OK with this and don't expect her to do 50/50 on this part, as she makes it up on other things, like cooking, cleaning bathroom, etc. We do adjustements when necessary through the power of good communication, and it's not too bad. Important for later : when i try to have a discussion with her about organize the stuff she lays around in the living room / kitchen, this is very hard for her because it triggers some of her fears and traumas. Generally it ends up by her sorting few things and then being very very tired and can't do anything for few hours. I am of course here to help her to overcome this and in the long run it have been pretty efficient, she improved a lot about this. Moving homes was very exhausting and stressing for both of us, and i undersand why it was hard for her to help when it is triggering her fears.
Last friday, this have changed for the first time. She sucessfully hid a significative part of her current mood until monday. Here is the timeline of the events as i lived them, and i'll try to put my interpretation of what she told me and friends of how the lived these events, but obviously i can't speak for her.
On friday evening, she came back from a long day she spend 300km away to give training job interviews to students of her previous university. She did this on her free time and took a day off to do this. Some friends of us from other part of the country were also coming in town the same evening and i was in town with friends of both of us to hang out and we waited for one of the friends who was coming to eat. E was arriving 40min later, and it was not clear if she wanted to eat with us or not (she send me texts to tell me she was not really hungry, and really tired. Because of the mobile network coverage in the train, she did not awnser when i asked her if she wanted to come or not). So we went to eat in a fast food and E called me when she arrived. I told her because people were hungry and i didn't know if she was coming or not, i did not asked everyone to wait for her 40min more (it was already quite late). I told her were we were, she came and immediately left. I found it a bit strange but not much, it was not surprising, not the first time she came by to say hello and go back home because she were tired. When we finally talked on monday, i learned that she felt abandoned by her friends because we did not wait for her, and didn't left a seat in the table we were at.
I came back friday evening, went to sleep with her, she looked tired, nothing really strange, we talked a bit and both fell asleep.
On saturday, she went with a group of friends to a reading club out of town, and came back around 2pm (this was planned long in advance). Nothing looked strange afterwards, and i went climbing in town and we met again in town in the evening to attend to a concert (long planned). The athmosphere here was a bit weird at the beginning (because the 1st part DJ was, uhh, just strange, and we did not expect to be ones of the oldest persons in the room) but it was good, and we came back home, do usual stuff, talk a bit, have hugs, sleep.
On sunday morning i went for a hike with friends (planned for weeks). Sunday evening, a party was planned with everyone at the hike as well as other people at our new house to celebrate the event. I asked her if she could organize some of the things laying over in the house and buy a couple things to eat because we didn't found time to do it before. In the end, i found time to buy drinks before the hike, so i told her this was handled. When i came back from the hike, she was in the couch watching netflix, didn't went to buy food because she wake up too late (she felt really bad about this, like she has failed me and was the worst person of the world for this. Usually i notice it and comfort her, this time i didn't notice) and everything that was laying around in the flat was still here. I started to sort these things and she asked me if she could wait the end to her episode before helping me, i told her to do as she want and get to work. I was a bit harsh in the way of telling this but was starting to be really tired of handling all the mental load and was a bit tired.
After some time, she and i had a small argument, where i told her that i was really tired of doing everything, and needed help. It was really hard for me to be honest with her at this time, and i needed to take a moment aside in the room after this. During this time, she did so much for the flat i was really stonned. When we had this kind of argument before, she was only able to do only one or two things before being exhausted for hours. I went out to congratulate her and be with her, and she was in the bed in the guests room. She looked exhausted and a bit "off". I was not really surprised nor worried as as i said, she was usually tired after these kind of moments and this time she did way more than she ever did.
The party at our home started. Before and during the party i went to see her at several moments, stayed with her, tried to talk to her or just be here. Sometimes she was talking a bit, some times she was sleeping. She looked really tired and what i thought was anger against herself. I tried to help her a bit, but she was not receptive at all and really off. After coming like 4 or 5 times over ~6 hours, i essentially gave up and decided that tomorrow she would feel better (as she always do in these cases) and to enjoy the party. I learned on Monday that in fact she was in a suicide crisis, felt abandonned by everyone, and was talking about this to a couple of mutual friends in private but successfully hid her mood to me. Her friends were really worried, but haven't talked to me at this time because they guessed she was not talking to me and it was difficult to them to inform me without her consent.
When the party came to an end, and almost everyone left, a friend of us (M) and me started to get really close, and we finished in the guest room bed together (E moved to the main room bed at the beginning of the party; the guest room bed have already been used in this context and it was perfectly OK for both of us). E and I both thought M was really cute and have already talked lauthing about the fact that if she was okay we would invite her in our bed without hesitation. At the beginning, M (who knew we were poly because we're open about this) asked anyway if E was OK, to which i awnsered yes. Won't give details about our night, but i ended sleeping with her this night, and both M and I really liked it and had a good time.
The next day (Monday), E was at work and still very distant. She awnser to basic messages about the time she will come back home, which bus she take, but not to these about how she feels, which was very suspicious. Overall the convo was really ankward. At this time i began to suspect something really bad was happening. When she came back home, she still felt off, like sunday afternoon, and her mood cleary haven't passed over night as it always did before. At this time (and she confirmed it was only at this time, and i trust her), she understood that i had an affair with M, and felt very angry about it. She felt abandonned and layed aside at a moment were she was really depressed. She felt betrayed by me. On my side, i also felt betrayed. We started to talk, and i understood she was feeling really bad and haven't talk to me (I understand why, it is difficult to speak of our own problems, and i have a similar problem. i don't hold it against her, but i felt betrayed anyway). After some hours of conversation and time on our side, she showed me the texts she just sent to a friend about how she felt that i betrayed her. I told her we were not living in the same world, and did not lived the events the same. At this time, we understood that she thought i knew she was feeling really bad the whole week-end including sunday night while i was with M, while i had no clue she was feeling abandonned and alone, i just thought she was angry against herself and very tired.
Looking back, there are some clues that i could have notice but i havent. But it's hard to notice every clue. She didn't talked to me at all of how she felt, and reproach me to act like i didn't know how she felt. I don't know how to feel about this.
After talking to this a bit with her, and to the friends she was talking to while she was unable to talk to me, everyone seems to agree that i can't read minds and what i did was OK with the info i had. E also understood it, and told me that if i spend a night with M at any other moment, she would only feel joy and jealousy to not be here to enjoy M with me (we joke a lot about this). She also told me that it could have been anything else, in this situation, she would have felt similarly. She also said me that at least, it "woke her up" and made her feel things again (in a sense, feeling that you want to commit suicide is feeling something, and as she was feeling nothing before, she felt it was kinda an improvement. Kinda hard to agree but i see the idea. Fortunately i was able to prevent her to do anything, and now she's safe).
Monday night, she was close to commit suicide. I prevented her to do this. I hid any object she could use to hurt herself at some place she will never look for, and as she was falling asleep i didn't wake her up. Tuesday morning, i brought her to the city psychiatry urgency department. We spend all day there, and in the end is interned for at least a few days, and she is kinda happy about this (she know this is for the best).
Now my existencial questions:
Is what i did wrong ?
AmItheAsshole for sleeping with M in this situation ? What do you think about all this ?
I'll send her a link to this post. If she awnser to some comments here and break anonymity, i'll edit this post with her
u/username.
PS: This post ended up well longer than what i thought. Thank you for everyone who read it and share his thoughts in the comments. Please, be honest with me. Now it time for me to go see her, the visits are starting.
