I’m worried, if I bring my hand up to the side of my face, will I feel a seam? Will it tell me exactly how much I really love her?
Before I go on I want to say I’m still absolutely in love with Hailey. It’s just that I’m not entirely comfortable with this last TikTok challenge. I want to give all of myself to her, I really do, but I’m just worried that it’s too much too fast. I guess I’ve never felt this kind of love before so I don’t know how to handle it.
“Can I bite your arm? I want to see if I can make you bleed.”
That was the first challenge that started down the slippery slope. She’d been on TikTok for a while already and had tons of followers, but she’d gotten into a community that was all about challenges recently. Before that she was mostly into making dance videos. She’s one of those people who moves hypnotically. It’s like she’s not even trying. I still sometimes scroll back to those videos.
But she’s also a person who can’t be contained. She has to push the boundaries of society, of what art can accomplish. She’s a wild fire.
Of course I let her sink her teeth into me. It took me a minute to steel myself for it, but we did it. And since it was on camera I even let the screams out. I have a high pain tolerance, but that nearly did me in.
Half an hour later though, she was already dejected. “I hate her,” she said.
“Who?” I asked.
“********1987, she completed the challenge before we did. It was all for nothing!”
My arm was still throbbing, but I could understand her disappointment. She puts so much of herself out there for her fans, only to see someone else beat her out by a few minutes and to steal the glory. Imagine how many followers she would have gotten if she was the first to do it.
“I’m sorry I hesitated,” I said.
“Do you really love me at all?” she asked.
When I went to the minor emergency after my arm swelled up the doctor looked at me like I was a lunatic. He unwrappend the yellow towel I’d wrapped my arm with, carefully unsticking the mess from my skin. “You did this for a TikTok challenge?”
I nodded my head.
“You need to get off that app before it kills you.”
I came in for medical treatment, not life advice, I wanted to tell him. But whatever. Most people can’t understand how meaningful it is to create this kind of content — Hailey is really pushing things to their limits. I mean, I’m not the one creating the content, but being part of it — being a part of her journey — is literally the most meaningful thing I’ve ever done with my life.
Anyways, the swelling went down with the antibiotics, so I was fine.
Still, I sometimes missed the innocent pranks we’d pull, like when we ran through the big box store in green track suits and masks knocking down all the displays and merchandise we could before bolting out the back door. The security guard was so pissed he couldn’t catch us. You might have seen the clip of his face — it went viral. Yeah, that was us. I mean, that was Hailey, but I helped.
Or there was the prank where we broke into a person’s house at night and waited in their closet until they got up to go to the bathroom, then we stole all their pillows and blankets and escaped out the window. That was a masterpiece. I still wonder what they did after that happened. Like, what would you think if you got back to bed and all the bedding disappeared like that? I’d be so freaked out.
I wish we could go back to things like that.
“I want you ring finger,” she told me.
“Like, you want to get married?” I asked.
“No, not yet. It’s for a video. Like, it’s a way you can show that you truly love me. We cut your finger off, and I’ll get it preserved, and if we decide to get married some day we’ll get it reattached.”
I would have said yes. A million times I would have said yes, even though we’d only been together less than a year.
“But, I need my finger for other things. It’ll be hard to type.”
“Do you really love typing that much? Come on, you love me enough, don’t you? I need this for my channel. Think of how many subscribers I’ll get! There’s no way any of the other girls will be able to win this challenge. They don’t have anyone who loves them like you love me.”
I got used to typing with nine digits. It’s ridiculous I was worried to begin with. It’s not like I spend all day in front of a laptop. And this time I told the doctor it was a freak accident with a lawn mower. He looked skeptical, but didn’t give me any grief about social media.
When I got home though Hailey wasn’t happy to see me. Her eyes had lost their bubbly joy and had turned venomous. “She beat us again.”
“********1987?”
“Yeah, her boyfriend let her chop off his ring finger AND his index finger. He loves her more than you could ever love me.”
She was distant for the next few weeks. Some days I’d wake up and she’d be gone making videos and I wouldn’t see her until I awakened in the middle of the night to her slithering into bed. I saw her post some dancing videos and wondered if she was getting out of the challenge video scene. In one video she was doing one of those K-Pop dances on a crowded sidewalk and a guy made an obscene gesture in front of the camera.
What a main character. I couldn’t believe someone would have that gall. Can’t he see she’s making art? Bystanders had to pry her off of him, but I could tell before the video cut out that he’d regretted his choice from the bleeding scratch marks clawed into his face.
I understood the importance of the challenge videos. It was so deeply meaningful to accomplish something first before anyone else could complete it. But she looked so happy when she danced.
“Do you even love me at all?” she asked me.
I brought her hands over my still unhealed finger gap. “I would give you all my fingers if it would prove my love.”
The next morning I woke up to a new sign on our door. It was the “ducks crossing” sign from our favorite park. A momma duck crossed the road and four ducklings followed her in down coats. We had one of our first dates at that park and kissed under that sign.
I cried a little. Maybe we weren’t doomed.
I called around and found a couples therapist with openings. I’m not the sort of person who likes to talk about my problems, but I thought if Hailey wanted to I’d be willing to work out any issues with someone to help.
“I don’t need to talk about my feelings,” she said when I brought up the idea.
“Then what do you need?”
“You know, when we got together and I was totally obsessed with you, I thought ‘This is it. This is the happiness I’ve been waiting for.’ I’d see you smiling lips and I’d fill up with this big feeling until I thought I was about to burst, and I thought I wanted that to be a part of me. But it wasn’t enough. Then my channel exploded and I thought ‘This is it. This is the feeling I’ve been waiting for.’ But that wasn’t enough either. I still have this void inside me. I need more.”
She went to the kitchen and grabbed to glasses. “These are us.” She pushed them together. “If I could just push them together so hard they became one glass, if I could just push us together like that, then I would know you really love me.” As she pushed the glasses together harder one of them shattered and sliced her hand open.
A week later she came home with the scalpel.
“There’s a new challenge I want to try. If you do it then I’ll know you truly love me.”
“But what if one of the other creators does it first?”
“They won’t. Remember, their boyfriends don’t love them like you love me.”
She explained how it worked. She’d give me a sleeping drug before bed, and if I chose to complete the challenge all I had to do is leave the scalpel by the bedstand and she’d do the rest while I slept. She’d take the knife and carefully cut the skin from my face and make a mask out of it. That way she could wear me any time she wanted. I’d truly be a part of her. If I didn’t want to complete the challenge I’d set the scalpel on the floor and I’d never see her again.
My grogginess is all encompassing. I can't remember what I chose.
“But will you think I’m ugly without my face?” I remember asking.
“Whenever I look at you I’ll only be able to see love.”
“Will it hurt?”
She brushed my stubble with the blunt end of the scalpel and left the room.
I’m so afraid to touch my face, to feel for the point when it either goes on, or doesn’t. What if I chose wrong? What if I didn’t love her enough?

Hi everyone! This summer the wife wants to visit friends in Idaho and Montana. We've discovered where we're staying has us in spitting distance of Grand Tetons and Glacier National parks respectively. Our fourth grader got the 'Every Kid Outdoors' pass so we figured we'd try to hit both on the road trip. My problem is, I don't know the first thing about either of them! What should we see? What should we try to do? As you can imagine, my Google and Instagram searches have been overwhelming so I thought I'd get a little more tailored suggestions from my friends at Reddit. Kiddos are 10,14, and 16 so they're not scared of hikes but we'll only have one day at each park. Help me NationalPark... you're my only hope.

We have been living the camper life since last November. Traveled across the country and then all over the PNW. Well, I got a job in Portland and now we rent a permanent spot.
We are wanting to get an apartment and are thinking about renting out the camper to make some extra income!
I’ve seen companies where you can’t rent out your RV/Camper. Anyone have experience with this?
What about using it for something like Airbnb? Where we are parked… it says you can’t rent out your camper but… how would they know 😅 what would happen if they did catch us? Would that stain our rental history?
Is there places where you can park your camper to rent out?
Would just be cool to make extra money!!

Partner and I are traveling to Portugal for a couple months, fly out to Austin in 2 days. Leaving the van at her parent's house in Albuquerque.
1) I assume draining water is best just so it isn't sitting unused for a couple months? Or is this not necessary? We use an RV filter when filling the 28 gallon tank. Our spare 5 gallon jug has sat around for a couple months and been fine, but just wondering if it's best to drain. Pump will be off either way.
2) Fridge will be emptied and turned off, router unplugged. I am debating turning off the entire electric system, or just keep it on so the roof vent can run. I'm not sure how the interior would handle the heat (whatever it would get to in temperatures up to 100 degrees when sealed up with insulation and reflective insulated window covers). We should get at least a couple hours of sun each day in the parking spot, so it should be enough to run the fan indefinitely. Might just set the fan to come on when it's hot (default is 78 degrees). That way it may get a rest for a couple hours early morning.
3) We have 2 pee jugs and one 5 gallon jug under the sink. These absolutely need to be cleaned and sanitized. We spent a couple weeks in Phoenix earlier in May, and due to the heat we stayed in my parents spare room most of the time and didn't use our water much. The sink drain and tank got REALLY nasty smelling. It either needs to be constantly cycled or cleaned. The drain hose itself is still smelly. What is a good way to completely clean and sanitize these tanks and the drain line?

I mean obviously. But here’s what doesn’t sit right with me.. he knows it’s a college town, he knows there’s likely a camera or two, even if just at the gas station. Therefore, I am so confused as to why he would drive his car around the house three times or why he would even bring that car to begin with. If he had simply worn something that covered his head/face and parked a mile down the street. The area between 1122 king road and the border of Washington is 2.4 miles. The average 25-30 yr old male can run a mile in 10 mins or 2.4 is 24 minutes, with Brian’s height he could probably do it in 15-20. On a bike it takes 15 minutes. I just don’t understand why he wouldn’t park his car somewhere he was positive Didn’t have any cameras and brought a small bike to go there and back. If he had done this and left his phone, there would technically be no way of placing him in the state of Idaho at all! If he had a mask on, he wouldn’t have been able to be identified easily especially on a bike. Also he could’ve easily gotten rid of a bike and no one would’ve thought twice. I know this is a stretch, but I’m just so blown away that he couldn’t find any other way other than bringing his car & phone and driving around multiple times even though he already knew the area and wasn’t lost. Am I missing something ? Maybe his OCD wouldn’t let him? Somethings not adding up to me because as a PhD student, he knows 1000 times what I know, what we all know. It’s common sense he leave his little evidence as possible, so why did he leave so much? he wasn’t stupid as shitty as that sounds to some

My RV broke down and I wont be able to drive it up anymore.
Spent $950 after fees and taxes. Will take $500. You can park your car and camp there even without an RV. Will get you WAY closer to CenterRoo. I have the pass already and can overnight ship it.

Hi, so I'm really new to all of this. I plan on splitting the cost, maybe, 3 ways with two others.
My biggest concern is my vehicle driving. That's about it. Oh, and being able to park overnight.
If you could, would you include what year of the model you suggest? As well as mileage or repairs to look for at certain miles?
I know as an amateur, renovating will take years(2) to make it home-ish. That actually excites me. I love learning and making things. I want to install a toilet and possibly shower(worst case a hose).
Now my budget, if I could have everything I wanted, would be way under 10k, but maybe my budget will allow for 10k+ in a year

Ford Transit(I find 200k miles and get nervous, but it's my vote) Honda Odyssey Short bus(can't park overnight so no) Ford e-250(2nd fave, again the price +mileage..I'm out of my element) Shuttle bus(I think that's what a e-250 is?) Ambulance(may not be taken care of due to business priority?) RV(way too expensive from what I've seen)

hey y’all. planning on traveling cross country in an RV and spending months at a time in new orleans. what are some good RV parks?
don’t wanna do the one by cemetery downtown, and totally fine with being outside the city, 30 mins or less would be ideal but open to more if it’s a good spot.

My grandma is 92. She is living in a house infested with bed bugs. Her boyfriend of many years rents an apartment in town they both reside in. When I found this out, I came to treat the issue. The treatments have been mostly successful. I spent approximately 300 dollars (and 30 to 40 hours). On steamer, vacuum, covers for the bed, silica powders. The house is a duplex and it's believed the bugs came from the other side and will return.
I'm currently living in a van and have it parked on my grandma's farm in North Carolina. I do not use any of the buildings but I stay in my van which is hooked to house power and I have charter internet to in my name. My grandma gave me person to plug in but I didn't specifically get permission to turn on cable internet in my name. No one resides on the property except me
Today, the boyfriend (I assume) called the cops and tried to get me trespassed off the property with my uncle who currently uses most of the buildings. Since my arrival he has put up deer cameras everywhere to watch me. One which he pointed at the door of my van when I moved it to point away from my entrance. He threw me to the ground and assaulted me.
After some back and forth, I was told that I have until tomorrow to leave.
I have been here over one month and have a bill in my name here. I am living in essentially an rv. Do I have tenants rights? also have mail in my name and a mailbox here that my mother and I have used for years. I think this is a matter for courts but the cops kept trying to get me to leave. Even though my grandma just kept saying I don't understand what's going on
Furthermore, should I contact social services about my grandma being forced to live with bed bugs which will come back?
Can I sue the boyfriend for services rendered. We had no verbal agreement and I have no intention of charging. However after the bugs became few in number and one month of treatment he is trying to get me trespassed from my grandma's lands. All of the products and appliances I bought to fight the bugs are still in his possession.
My uncle and aunt both knew about the bed bugs and refused to do anything. My uncle and his wife both work for extermination company for over 15 years.

My family and I will be staying at Fishing Bridge in the very near future. I understand camp fires, and cooking outside, are not allowed in this campground (because of bears). Hello! I have a toddler who I want to get outside camping in beautiful Idaho. I reserved a spot through Idaho Dept of Parks and Rec at Bruneau Dunes over the weekend, and it went well, and now I am looking for more places to camp, but am finding NOTHING decent available for the rest of the summer.
Am I missing something? Are there tricks to finding decent places to camp? Our group would be 2 families with 2 tents.

so i’m a renter but my landlord is the most laid back landlord ever. she knows i’m big on bio diversity and love plants so she has given me free reign.
my neighbors….. ugh. my neighbors.
on one side is an abandoned house that is currently mid restoration - love them. on the other side is house on a tiny lot. i should have known they were going to be problematic for me when they took out the ONLY garden bed to fill the entire “yard” with gravel. one of their tenants loves to garden but they restrict him to a potted garden only - no beds. the tenant used to mow my lawn for pretty cheap and i didn’t mind because i wasn’t able to work from home yet and didn’t have the capacity to start looking at what native gardening would entail. the tenant who kept the yard trimmed was always trimming the grass to less than .5” which is far too short when you have dogs and 90*+ days. so it always looked burnt and dead (because i refuse to pay for the amount of water that would be needed to keep it green when it’s that short)

fast forward. the owner of the neighboring property decided he and his gf needed an RV to travel and that my landlord needed to trim the trees so he could park the RV between our houses. TURNS OUT HE DEMANDED MY LANDLORD COMPLETELY REMOVE THE TREES. so now my house gets NO SHADE and is soooo hot. (we don’t have AC in this part of the state) then the RV he bought doesn’t even fit there because it’s too long for his property and he doesn’t even travel with it……. 🙃
now the tenant who used to mow my lawn is aging pretty rapidly and isn’t as able to help with my yard. totally fine! i have the time now to do it but i do like my grass to be tall so i don’t have to water it very often. i’ve told them this multiple times.
i wake up this morning and look out and my front yard has been cut down to less than .5” and looks dead AF now.
i’m livid.
i’ve now scheduled for a friend and their spouse to come visit and help me plant ALL THE WILDFLOWERS around the perimeter of my property.
ugh!!! city life is not for me.

My TT came equipped with the Winegard 365+ antenna. We were at a RV park 1 hour outside of Dallas, Tx and we could not get any channels to come in. We also could not get any radio stations to come in either. There is an on/off button on the panel where the coax plugs in, when it's on the light is red. The manual says the light should be green. I am wondering if something is wrong with the antenna itself or a bad connection somewhere. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

As an update: Went to https://www.antennasdirect.com/transmitter-locator.html and it looks like the RV park we stay in the Glen Rose is about 5 miles out of range to access 4, 5, 8 and 11. Oh well, we can just stream.

Hello everyone!
We are Burning My Crêpe, a breton-themed camp running since 2018. But what is breton-themed, you may ask? Well, it's the world's birthplace of crepes, in the western region of Brittany, France, where two of the initial camp lead trio originated from. We offer large gifting sessions (over 2 hours) of flamed crepes & pole dancing (best combination ever, by the way) at sunset on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Our little secret? The batter is made from scratch and from fresh ingredients, then flamed with a delicious orange liquor. In addition, we do have some playa shenanigans running at the camp, that could be considered extra gifting (sound healing, painting workshops, etc).
We are a small camp, counting 14 people today, with a pretty good diversity: almost 50/50 on male/non-male and 6 countries represented. We want to keep it small so everyone can spend time together and form a little happy group of burners (we have been 30+ in the past and realized only too late it was a terrible idea for the 'camp spirit').
Who are we looking for?

• Ideally, a small group of 2 to 4 people who have been on the playa before
• You should be autonomous with your logistics in and out of the playa - we may be able to carpool with our campmates but we cannot really promise anything (Bay area, south Idaho, Salt Lake City...)
• Ideally, you should have a camping solution already (RV, or tent, or w/e) - we have the option to provide an hexayurt but to be discussed
• We don't care much for where you are based or where you are from, our logistics are already set up

What do we provide?

• Enough space on our camp for your little setup, we usually have a good spot in the 4:30 sector (previous years we were in C or D, hoping for the same this year)
• Camp amenities: large shade structure with awesome lights and a new misting system, furniture...)
• A fully equipped kitchen (stoves, gas, coolers, ice...), as well as a shower and evaporation ponds
• Bad playa advice and pole dancing lessons
• Optional: a camp bike from our storage unit (for a reasonable extra fee)

What do we NOT provide?

• Food and water (we used to have a tank, but it's not worth it this year)
• Private portos - what did you think? :)
• Tickets and Vehicle Passes

What do we expect in return?

• Camp fees - everyone pays the same in our camp (530$ to be precise), the budget has been voted by all current campmates
• Participate to the camp, notably via the gifting (twice during the week), as well as strike (sorry...), and small things (we don't keep a list or a plan, we don't run after people, we just count on everyone's proactivity as a group of friends would do)
• Be willing to be part of the group and not running a boys/girls club at the back of the camp
