2023.05.31 23:46 Agitated_Pin2169 Bates YouTube- Full Analysis
I am still hoping to do a post with graphs and such, but I won’t get that done before tomorrow, when I am going to start my Instagram series. I at least wanted to get this analysis out before then.
Carlin and Evan
May 2022 Subscribers: 139k
May 2023 Subscribers: 174k
Total Gain: 35k
May 2022 Average Views: 150k
May 2023 Average Views: 156.4K
Difference: Up 6.4K
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Carlin’s Episodes Caught on Camera! Doctors Puzzled… Bringing Carlin to Tears!” 621k views
Most Watched Video of 2023: “I Thought She Might Bleed Out! New Problems and New Doctors!” 325k views
Last May, the Stewarts were the only ones who had passed 100k followers, now all 4 YouTube-active daughters have, though the Stewarts are still in the lead. Their content involves a lot of click-bait titles and their most watched videos (by far) involve Carlin’s health crisis, which is obviously not sustainable and I am curious what they will do content-wise as Carlin’s health continues to stabilise. Probably focus on the Layla Show. They have had good numbers and decent subscriber growth (20%), so right now I don’t think they have anything to worry about and it will be interesting to see where they go from here.
Katie and Travis
May 2022 Subscribers: 53.3k
May 2023 Subscribers: 124k
Total Gain: 70.3k
May 2022 Average Views: 120k
May 2023 Average Views: 169k
Difference: Up 49k
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Our Official Wedding Video” 488k views
Most Watched Video of 2023: “Our Birth Story Part 2” 513k views
Seriously, Katie and Travis are killing it. Last May, they only had 53.3k subscribers, now they have 124k! That is a growth rate of 132%, more than any of the other Bates except Trace and Lydia (who had just launched their channel) and they now have the second most number of subscribers, only behind Carlin and Evan (who had 80k more subscribers than then when I started this project in May 2022). Unsurprisingly their most popular videos are wedding and baby focused, but they manage to bring in good numbers every single week and their content is focused and enjoyable (and they don’t generally rely on clickbait titles). I am not sure I would have predicted these two to be as good at YouTube as they are, but they have done a genuinely good job building their channel.
Alyssa and John
May 2022 Subscribers: 90.7k
May 2023 Subscribers: 117k
Total Gain: 26.3k
May 2022 Average Views: 59.5k
May 2023 Average Views: 89.5k
Difference: Up 30k
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Official Gender Reveal Baby #5!” 392k
Most Watched Video of 2023: “Our Baby is Here” 243k
Alyssa was the first Bates daughter to get a YouTube but she has quickly been surpassed by her siblings. While Alyssa saw a subscriber growth rate of 29%, she lost her grip on second place. Katie has surpassed Alyssa in number of subscribers and Erin is right at her heels (only 3k behind), and while she has a decent lead on both Trace and Lawson when it comes to subscribers, she has the smallest average view count of any of the siblings. Having her miracle boy didn’t do much for her. At one point in 2022, Alyssa was producing two videos a week and that really dragged her average down, her numbers did bounce back when she went to one video a week but it is still under 100k average. I am not sure what Alyssa is doing wrong, but she is obviously not as engaging as her siblings and she has a hard time producing content.
Erin and Chad
May 2022 Subscribers: 84.3k
May 2023 Subscribers: 114k
Total Gain: 29.7k
May 2022 Average Views: 83.5k
May 2023 Average Views: 105.5k
Difference: Up 22k
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Big a news! We’re Moving” 380k
Most Watched Video of 2023: “Goodbye Tennessee Leaving All We Know” 225k
Erin and Chad have had probably the most fascinating journey over the last year. When I started this project, Erin was making all the right moves and I predicted she would soon overtake Alyssa and then came the hiatus and the switch to “purposeful” content and their numbers took a dive. Slowly Erin returned to tutorial style videos and looks into their life with 5 (soon to be 6 kids) on their farm and their content recovered. She still hasn’t passed Alyssa, but she is only 3k subscribers behind and she had a total subscriber growth rate of 25% (which is actually lower than Alyssa’s). I was surprised that her move to Florida were her most-watched videos of both 2022 and 2023, more than the birth of Miracle Baby Finley or the announcement of the next Miracle Baby. I guess Erin leaving Tennessee is more newsworthy than another baby (even with her missing ovary). I still think Erin is the one to watch, if she sticks to tutorial and lifestyle content, I think her channel will continue to grow at a good rate.
Lawson and Tiffany
May 2022 Subscribers: 59k
May 2023 Subscribers: 75.6k
Total Gain: 26.6k
May 2022 Average Views: 112k
May 2023 Average Views: 106k
Difference: Down 6k
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Baby Fever! Meet the Newest Member of the Fam” 199k
Most Watched Video of 2023: “Weekend With All 19 Siblings + New Baby” 175k
Lawson and Tiffany are all over the place. So many ups and downs this year, their content has been so inconsistent and not in a purposeful (if misguided way) like Erin’s content swerve. These two just give the impression that they really don’t know what they are doing, they have had big breaks between videos and often piece together footage from multiple different months. Yet, they have still managed to stay in the middle of the pack. They had a subscriber growth rate of 45% and while even their most watched videos haven’t broken 200k views, they manage to get all of their content to hover around the 100k mark. These two frustrate me because I think they could be very successful at it, if they got their act together. I think they also have to stop trying to format their content like a TV show and do more slice of life like the rest of the family.
Trace and Lydia
May 2022 Subscribers: 16k
May 2023 Subscribers: 51.8k
Total Gain: 35.8k
May 2022 Average Views: 75k
May 2023 Average Views: 99.9k
Difference: Up 24.9k
Most Watched Video of 2022: “Trace & Lydia’s Full Wedding Ceremony” 190k
Most Watched Video of 2023: “Finding Out I’m Pregnant + Surprising My Husband” 243k
Trace and Lydia have the newest YouTube channel of the family, they only launched their channel after their engagement (which was in March of 2022). They had a modest amount of followers when I started tracking and they have had a growth rate of 223%, so obviously they are growing at a really good rate. They are just narrowly missing an average of 100k views per video, so again they are doing fairly well. This coming year will bring the birth of Ryker and will probably give their channel another boost. They are very focused on their content, they advertise it reliably on Instagram and they stick mostly to slice of life, honestly Lawson and Tiffany could take some pointers from them on consistency.

2023.05.31 23:24 Ok-Supermarket4492 Seattle City Council Newsletter
Hi everyone! My name is Sharon, and I am a college student interested in civic engagement and politics. I have been working on a project with some other students to make the Seattle City Council meetings more accessible by putting them into short summaries. My friend Rachel has posted previously about it, and I am continuing this group project. I have put an example from last week below, though the real thing has a bit more formatting that doesn't translate into Reddit.
This project is relatively new, so we would really appreciate any feedback you may have and hope to make it as informative and accessible as possible! If you're interested in getting these newsletters every week, please click here:

2023.05.31 22:11 AcceptableBrain5127 My Girlfriend kissed and "touched" her ex 4 days after we first kissed
Me (22) and my girlfriend (21) have been dating for the past 5 months. I still remember the first ever time i saw her walk past by me, it was 7 months ago. We met again at an event in our college and we started talking. This was in November. We couldn't talk about anything much cause both of us were shy, especially myself. Then if you guys remember the FIFA WC 2022 stared and we both enjoy football so we were texting about that and she invited me for the WC final screening at a bar. She was with her classmates (she's my senior), I came alone as none of my friends were free. She stood beside me the whole time and also took me aside and we were standing while holding hands and drinking beer! She kept her head on my shoulder and i felt something i never felt before. I wanted to love this woman with all my life. She felt precious to me. After sometime of talking, we kissed that night for the first time. This was 18th December 2022. She later took me to her friend's place and we talked about how both of us liked each other and were shy to make a move but she got the courage and invited me to the screening. WE DID NOT HAVE SEX THAT NIGHT. Yeah we did make out a lot tho (it's important info). Next morning we met in college and she told me she's going back to her hometown cause she had holydays. She went back on 20th December and came back after new years on 7th January 2023. The whole time we were texting all the time, she even called me on new years! She was excited to finally meet me and talk after our first kiss at the screening. After she came back on 7th Jan we used to hang out daily with our friends and one day we went drinking, later that night she asked me to come over to her place for the first time. When we went there (this was 18th January), she was acting weird, i asked her if something was wrong? She said "i need to tell you something" I asked what is wrong? She replied, "While i was in my hometown, I kissed my ex" I couldn't believe what i just heard. I couldn't process it. I couldn't understand why and how, before i could ask her anything i just broke down. I cried, i completely broke down. Firstly she tried to comfort me and she was saying "sorry I'm sorry" multiple times. I couldn't stop crying, i asked her "Do you know how much i like you? Why you did this to me?"
She just couldn't believe, she said "Shout at me? Get angry at me please" She couldn't understand why i broke down so much, she didn't believe i liked her that much but whatever. Nothing happened then she we talked and she explained what happened,
"I got drunk before Christmas and i called my ex, he was texting me a lot prior that day. I had blocked him but when i got drunk i unblocked him and i called him over. That was the stupidest decision of my life *my name, I'm sorry. I couldn't lie to you before we start something new. It's up to you if you want to stay with me. I'm just extremely sorry and shameful, I felt horrible after kissing him, it was gross. I'm so sorry"
For context: Her and her ex broke up 6 months ago cause he cheated on her and lied about that for 4 months. But they were together for 3 years, btw is was the most toxic relationship ever. They used to fight all the time and he used to flrit with every other girl. Even after the breakup he obviously wanted to get back but she didn't want that. So they decided to hook up whenever she got back to her hometown from college. She had blocked him during December but he texted her on discord when she went to her hometown after screening. She told him about me and that she likes me, they had some argument and she blocked him. Later she went to a party with her family and when she got back she was drunk and she called him. It's what they did all the time and she just did it without thinking. They did not have sex as she was on her period, he came to her place and they kissed. They talked, she told him about me and he left.
She told me this on January 18th.
I was completely broken. After thinking for a long time i decided to give her a chance and stay with her. I didn't stop my love towards her. We started dating normally, she was so sweet, kind, cute everything you could imagine. Our relationship is absolutely amazing! We never fight and both of us are pushing each other towards our goals. We both can imagine our lives together. We both have done a lot for each other, she told me once while we were talking about our past experiences that how she got cheated on and how he lied to her. How bad that relationship was and how free she feels now! She said "he didn't treat me in 3 years as good as you did in 4 months" She is very loving and caring and i feel great with her. She's the love of my life. I love her since the first time i kissed her and i wanna marry this lady one day and live a happy life with her.
Whilst all of this, i did get anxiety because of that trauma sometimes and we argued, she always apologized and did everything so i could trust her. She has put in the effort. She has stopped drinking with any guy apart from me also. She doesn't go out without me, she doesn't everything to build trust in this relationship.
Last month tho, she acting weird after we had an argument on that same thing. Late night she texted me. "I need to tell you something" I asked again "what"? She said, "The only way I'll ever be able to completely let go is when i tell you what really happened. It wasn't just a kiss, there was touching. I didn't go down on him he didn't on me. Nothing extreme happened. There's no more secrets and therenever will be. It's your decision if you want to stay with me. I need you in my life and if you decide to leave itll be my biggest loss. Anything that happened that night, had nothing to do with you, I know itll hurt, I know how it feels. But I wasn't in the same place you were. To me, we had one kiss, I wasn't in love, I was confused. Im sorry that our relationship started out this way.
I'm really sorry that i dragged you into my relationship with him Idk if we'll ever heal from this, or where we'll go from here. Ive been nothing but faithful and in love since we started dating. There's no way in the world I'll ever cheat *my name.
The reason i didn't tell you this that night was that i didn't expect that reaction from you. (me breaking down) i didn't know you liked me so much. I'm sorry, i would stand by any decision you make. I'm just sorry."
Tbh i knew all alone it was more than a kiss. Without using complicated words, she gave him a HJ ig? Am i right? I later asked her everything and i asked when did he leave She said "I can't tell you details, just deciper it. I'm sorry" "He left when he was done"
I'm guessing he left after he came? Yeah so whatever.
Tbh i have lost some love towards her. I still love her but it's hard for me to process all this.
Current situation: we are dating and she's doing everything to rectify her mistake. She is sorry. For me, i can't forgive her as of now. I have a lot of trust issues in us and she knows that and she's putting in the effort. We will complete 6 months on 18th june.
I hope tell you guys will help me out! Sorry about the long read!

2023.05.31 21:58 redditnewbie6910 help with awkward friend group interactions, female opinion preferred!
this will be a long post, i will try to make it as short as possible, but i feel like i need to tell the full story for background and context
so back in 2018, we had a group of dog friends, it consisted of 6 "households", each household was either a single (or in a relationship, but their s/o was not part of the group) or a couple, no kids, and we all had 1-3 dogs. we would plan cottage trips, trail hikings, etc. we were fairly close. for the purpose of this story, here's the people that are relevant, all made up names btw.
me - guy - organize"leader" of the group
Tania - girl - vice organizer (if thats a word?), due to personality and language reasons, we had a special connection, nothing romantic or anything, i have a gf, she has a bf, but she and i are just very similar, and she would help me plan things, etc.
Lydia - girl - has a bf, they have 3 dogs
Jess - dog - 1 of the 3 dogs owned by L, a mid size dog
Sara - girl - started single, but got a bf half way thru
Bron - dog - a small dog owned by S
Timeline:
June 2019 - we invited Sara and her bf on a trip overseas, they werent our first choice, but they were the only ones available, and we actually had a nice time, altho they are very diff people from us in terms of interests and hobbies
Sept 2019 - we were at another cottage trip for a long weekend, everybody was there. and while playing around, Jess bit Bron, and left a pretty nasty wound. then later, due to a disagreement on the vet bills, Lydia and Sara had a falling out and werent talking to each other anymore.
Oct + Dec 2019 - I was always closer with Tania and Lydia, so we went on 2 road trips, just us 3 couples.
then covid happened, and we were forced to stop hanging out as much.
July 2020 - we were still trying to pretend everythings still normal in the group, so i organized another cottage for the whole group, cuz restriction was being lifted a bit at the time, to which Sara politely declined saying she had other plans, but we all know why she didnt wanna come. unfortunately restriction came back down, and airbnb host cancelled it.
Dec 2020 - tried to book another cottage trip, i initially asked to see whos in, cuz its non-refundable, and again, everyone except Sara was in. but in november, there was another covid wave with numbers spiking, and Lydia and her bf decided they wanted to stay home to be safe, but they said they willing to pay us their share, so i said okay. then Tania also said she didnt wanna go, but it was because she broke up with her bf, which i completely understand, and didnt want her to worry about paying for their share. but the thing is, as the organizer, i cant be seen playing favourites, i cant just be like, oh u backed out last minute, u gotta pay up, u also backed out last minute, but its ok, u dont have to pay, that will be very weird. ppl will be asking questions, so i urged her to tell the group shes not going because of the break up, so everybody will understand why im not asking her to pay her share. but she didnt want to, i kept pushing, and said if she doesnt, i will. eventually she snapped, announced it in the group, and left the group chat, and that was our fall out.
FIRST QUESTION - was I in the wrong here for pushing her to tell the group? she said she didnt wanna share her private stuff, but im not asking her to tell the group why they broke up, or any details, just that they broke up, thats why they are not going, so i can have a legit reason for not asking her to pay her share. otherwise i would have to also let Lydia and her bf not pay their share, so its "fair", but then we booked a place for 9 ppl, and now its down to 5, so cost practically doubled, and for no good reason cuz we wouldnt be able to use all the extra rooms and beds anyway. i thought i was being reasonable here, but what do u guys think? i realize this isnt exact asking for advice cuz it already happened, but i would still like to know for future reference
2021 - i dont remember when exactly, but I started talking to Tania again on and off, about random stuff, so we kinda "made up", but it was never the same again
May 2022 - we bought a new house in January, and invited them for a house warming party cuz it was finally warm enough for outside bbq. i dont remember if i invited Sara or not, but she didnt come, and Lydia didnt come due to some conflicts, but everybody else showed up, including Tania.
July 2022 - Sarah invited us and another couple (in the group but i didnt name, they were friends first, and they introduced Sara to Tania to dogsit for her) to her wedding, we were very surprised cuz we didnt talk to them for SO long, and we always thought we just werent that close. but i dont know, i guess maybe they thought cuz we went on that trip together in 2019? the other couple didnt show due to schedule conflict, we went, it was fine
Aug 2022 - we went on a road trip with just Lydia and her bf
Sept 2022 - Jess died, and we were there for them throughout the whole process, went to their house to check up on them, I helped them with calling vets and hospitals cuz their english isnt super good, etc.
fast forward to present day, and the real dilemma i have now. Lydia is getting married to her bf in July, and Tania got back with her bf a while ago and is getting married in August. now, Lydia has made it clear to me that its gonna be a small wedding, like 20-30 ppl, so she only invited very close friends, which included us cuz we were there for her during Jess's passing, but apparently excluded Tania. i always thought they were close too, but for some reason i guess they stopped talking during covid. Tania, however, has told me that shes gonna invite the whole group, except for maybe Sara. I have told Lydia that Tania will invite her, but she's still not inviting Tania, saying she doesnt care for the awkwardness when Tania finds out, and shes even planning to go to her wedding too. and I also told told Tania late last year that Lydia might be having a wedding sometime in the summer of 2023, but i didnt know if the plans are finalized cuz they didnt send out invites yet. that was a partial lie, i did know the dates were already decided, they just didnt work out the details yet, and i only got the invite few weeks ago. and i just got the invite to Tania's wedding yesterday.
SECOND QUESTION - should I tell Tania that Lydia is having a wedding in July but decided not to invite her? If i do, im afraid Tania will confront her about it, and lead to an actual fallout between them and uninviting them to the wedding, which then Lydia might end up blaming me for. but if i dont, i feel like Tania will confront me after she finds out, and be like, "why didnt u tell me she was having a wedding, and didnt invite me?" and possibly think i dont see her as a real friend.
if it was up to me, i would tell her, because from a logical and rational perspective, if Tania's gonna resent Lydia for not inviting her to the wedding, shes gonna do that regardless whether I tell her beforehand or she finds out later, so it shouldnt make a difference. or if i dont tell her, she shouldnt put the blame on me for not telling her, but on Lydia for not inviting her. however, from my experience, girls are a lot more emotionally oriented, and they care more about how they FEEL towards the matter, so logic doesnt really help too much here. so for all u ladies out there, if u were Lydia and/or Tania, how would u feel about this? and would u suggest I tell Tania about it or no?

2023.05.31 21:40 Jake_brake027 This kinda sucks
This kinda sucks
Before I get into the situation I wanna cover some things first to help give a bit of a perspective from me. I am 21 years old, I am a male, In highschool I held 3 jobs from 16-18, I had a decent work ethic regardless of my weight (I was like 330 at the time) I had graduated in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, school shutdown in like February and I graduated online, didn’t technically get my diploma because they never let me take summer school, that’s a while rant within itself for a different time. Anyway graduating during the pandemic has left a scar on my perspective of adulthood, it’s been rough, my work ethic has gone to shit, I haven’t hung out with anyone other than family since summer of 2021. And I was previously suicidal in the summer of 2022, an online friend of mine who went through a similar mindset has taken me under their wing and I’ve gotten better since. I have anger problems, depression, I have an ulcer due to panic attacks, and I haven’t had access to my medication in several months. I still live with my family, and I should be more appreciative of the benefits of this but it’s been difficult due to some underlying things, and that’s the main topic of this post.
So in 2017 we moved from the Midwest to the northeast, my dad decided to take it into his own hands, and he didn’t plan it out well, and we ended up living in a hotel for just under 3 years. All of our stuff we put in storage (that was sent to a temporary location in Florida) got swept away in hurricane Irma, and due to lack of preparation or whatever, we didn’t have insurance and lost everything we had in storage, we only had the things we could pack into two cars. We due to our situation at the time my parents had lightened up on their discipline because they felt bad about the problem, I was 15 and my sister was 7-8 years old when we first got settled in this hotel. And she grew accustomed to this lack of discipline, but this didn’t show until later on. In late 2019 we moved into a small apartment with one actual bedroom and some makeshift bedrooms for me n my sister. Mine was like an inlet to a hallway with two door connecting the back mud room and the rest of the house. My sisters room was a sunroom that had been kinda turned into a bedroom. Unfortunately this sunroom wasn’t very suitable for a year round bedroom, and just kinda held all my sisters shit while she slept in my parents bed with my mom and dad on the couch. Slowly but surely she turned my parents room into hers, spending most of her time in there on the phone playing roblox, eventually kicking my parents out of the room and leaving them on the couch, and again their lack of discipline in the past made her not really care about what they said, she had some hard times in school, this school left her with no friends except the one next door, and this kid was a devil child, I could talk all day about it, but to brief it up, she’s a child of a dad whose been in jail most of her life and a mom who spends most of her time running away from her age, and this kid usually gets abandoned to her grandma, you can probably guess this can result in a child that might have some crazy shit going on in her head, although I feel bad for her and genuinely hope she gets better, she was a terrible influence on my sister. But since she was her only friend my parents let this go on. Just over a year ago, we moved into this new house which is the first house we’ve owned ourselves since 2015. And I’m now 21 and my sister is almost 14. And the situation has only gotten worse. She has genuinely no respect for my parents, its crazy the amount of money she’s spent by sneaking my parent card numbers and gotten away with it by claiming people hacked the cards. She yells and screams at my parents say the most vile things I’ve ever heard, I get dragged into it and due to my personal issues it usually makes the problem worse if I can’t get it solved in a short period of time. My parents sleep downstairs on the couch regardless of our 3 bedroom house. My sister destroyed her room, and moved into my parents room, refusing to clean it herself nor let my parents or me In their to clean it ourselves, i can post videos and stuff in post to provide some visuals, and also provide text screenshots to show her attitude. Now I understand she has social anxiety, and I understand she’s got some shit going on in her head. I get it’s not fun, but by no means does it excuse the behavior, and it’s not all her fault she turned out this way, my mother and fathers lack of taking control and properly handling the situations in her life have definitely contributed and I know that I haven’t helped either, my issues have made it difficult to handle these things and I’ve definitely said things I don’t mean, I’ve gone to both her and my parents to apologize for my actions and reactions to the situation. There’s a few more things that make my home life terrible right now, such as no one except for me and my father put any effort into cleaning the house and I’m the only one who has taken responsibility for the yard, and since I don’t have my license (whole other story) I haven’t been able to get the things I need to care for it. You can guess we’ve had CPS and all kinds of people at our house, because my sister has refused to participate in schooling (home, public, cyber, all kinds) it’s been getting hard, my parents haven’t been able to help me get my life started, I’ve been trying to get working and my license and everything else in order but due to my sister forceing then to do what she wants all the time, I have been unable to go to places that can assist in this process of leveling up in life. There are many many more layers to this story that I can elaborate on if desired, such as life prior to the move across country, specific details about specific situations. And so on. I’ve tried to emphasize that I know I haven’t handled situations Well, and that I have my own habits that definitely don’t make the situation better. I’d like to move out but I’m by no means ready to do that. The only things I have going on that are beneficial to me and my life is that I’m trying to lose weight to the best of my ability, and I’m looking for work that can support my situation financially. I’ve been steering away from small dead end jobs that are going to make my mental health worse. I’ve been looking for things I can make a good pay and do things that I’m actually interested in, I know that I should probably take anything to get money to try and finance my desire to move out. But I guess that’s one thing I’ve decided to not back down to. If desired for more details or those videos and screenshots, you can DM me and I might send them to you after a brief conversation. Thanks for reading of you made it this far, I just needed to post this because I don’t have many people to vent to without sounding like a broken record. Thanks you

(I didn't catch the name of the interviewer, but he was very good)
Interviewer: Good work today
ProtoBanham: Good work
Interviewer: I'll ask right away, how are you feeling after winning?
ProtoBanham: I'm happy haha
Interviewer: Happy, hahaha. Lately, you've been leaving very good results at Sumapa
ProtoBanham: Ah yes, certainly
Interviewer: You've been in Grand Finals pretty much each time, and in good form, but are you planning on attending any big tournaments coming up?
ProtoBanham: Ah, I'll be at Maesuma TOP.
Interviewer: Maesuma TOP. By the way, I'd like to ask your goal
ProtoBanham: My goal is to win. Hahaha
Interviewer: To win, and the confidence for it. You're looking very polished.
ProtoBanham: I am pretty polished right now.
Interviewer: You've been going both Min Min and Lucina as your main fighters
ProtoBanham: Yes, I'm playing as a double main.
Interviewer: Maesuma TOP's brackets haven't been released right?
ProtoBanham: No. They haven't even opened registration yet. Haha (Note: Registration opened shortly after Sumapa)
Interviewer: Then, at Maesuma TOP, we're not sure who will be attending yet, but in Kansai, are there any players you want to play against? Or on the other hand, are there any players you want to avoid?
ProtoBanham: Ahh... I want to play acola-kun. I wanna.
Interviewer: Of course, you'd want to play against the player marked as Japan's number 1.
ProtoBanham: I keep feeling it, I really wanna play
Interviewer: Haha, without a doubt, a lot of the viewers want to see the match too. Well, I want to ask what character you'll be playing, but that would be spoilers, so I probably shouldn't
ProtoBanham: Yeah, hahahaha
Interviewer: Also, something that was memorable to me was in Losers Finals, KEN-san played Incineroar. how was it? What is your state of mind when you have to play Incineroar, what are you thinking?
ProtoBanham: "Maaan... he really pulled out the best character, Incineroar"
Interviewer: Hahaha, even to ProtoBanham-senshu, Incineroar is a scary character
ProtoBanham: Yeah, yeah yeah. No victory is guaranteed against that character.
Interviewer: Of course, it's a character that can turn things around immediately. Min Min seems very good at edge guarding him, but how is it? Like, are there points in the grounded neutral where Incineroar does certain things you're wary about? Or is it winnable, but there's some points where he breaks through and it's scary?
ProtoBanham: Well, it's both. If I had to say, it's really both. Haha
Interviewer: Of course. Overall, it's winnable, but you never know when something can happen.
ProtoBanham: Yeah, yeah, yeah. In neutral, if you swing an arm out, Revenge could come out, so you're on edge the whole time while attacking. That's part of the reads though.
Interviewer: Then, we've talked about Maesuma TOP, but are you planning for any other big tournaments?
ProtoBanham: At the moment, I'm not, but if there's anything big, I might go to it.
Interviewer: So for now, your time off continues, but you'll still show up at some offlines.
ProtoBanham: That's right. Well, offline, I've been here and there. Off stream. I've been keeping up with my practice.
Interviewer: Then, we definitely look forward to your activities.
ProtoBanham: Thank you very much.
Interviewer: Ah, lastly, can I ask one more thing?
ProtoBanham: Yes
Interviewer: At a previous Sumapa, you showed an Aegis, but are there plans for you to play Aegis at all?
ProtoBanham: No (before he even finishes the question)
Interviewer: No, hahaha. So what was that about?
ProtoBanham: For that, Shuton was seeded to play Skyjay
Interviewer: Hahahahaha
ProtoBanham: So, Incineroar, he was saying "it's impossible", so as an example, I played Aegis.
Interviewer: "This can work against Incineroar"
ProtoBanham: That's right.
Interviewer: That's amazing. I know it's a weekly tournament, but in a late match, that was Grand Finals right?
ProtoBanham: Ah... Yeah, it was
Interviewer: Showing that in Grand Finals, and then Shuton-senshu being able to beat Skyjay.
ProtoBanham: That's right, he won in a full set haha
Interviewer: Haha, showing off your bonds today, congratulations on winning Smash Party
ProtoBanham: Thank you very much
Interviewer: Please come again next time
ProtoBanham: Yes, I will
Interviewer: That concludes today's interview, congratulations once again
ProtoBanham: Yes, thank you very much

2023.05.31 20:48 goofbeast What is the Upside Down? My theory on it
Hi everyone! Hope you´re doing good. So, i´m a fan of Stranger Things since circa 2017, when i binge watched Season 1 and 2, and became fascinated with all the sci-fi side of the show - this unknown piece of alien mythology with psychic powers and Lovecraftian aspects in the mixture is so interesting. Basically the great question of all the series have been what the Upside Down - that strange dark copy of Hawkins from where monsters emerge - actually is, what is the origin of this world, and why it´s affecting only Hawkins? We haven't had any answer until Season 4, when Vecna was introduced as the true big-bad and it´s origins as the original test subject Number 001 have been finally revealed!
The link to everything that will be quoted here is at the end of this post, in the "Sources" section.
Now, we known from S4 that in 1979, Eleven acidentally unleashed 001 and he killed everyone at the Hawkins Lab, except for Eleven, who sended him to another world through a red portal. For all these years, 001 have been in this parallel world and this is the meaning behind all the Upside Down threat that emerged in 1983. However, what´s that world which 001 was sended to by Eleven? It´s the Upside Down? Or a different world? Well, in the finale of S4, we see brief flashbacks of 001 arriving at a strange new environment of floating rocks and dark orange sky, where he find the Demogorgons and where he find a cloud of dark particles which was molded into what we known as the Mind Flayer, the monster who attacked Will in Season 2. Michael Maher, the concept artist for ST, published in his site a bunch of concepts of this world which El sended 001 to, and he called it “Dimension X”. Dimension X is the actual in-universe official name for this dimension, as the recent released script of Episode 9 of Season 4 revealed to us. Maher described it as a “strange new environment which One would explore”.
This give hints that this world where El sended 001 in 1979 wasn´t the Upside Down. It´s a completely separated realm. The name is different, the design is different, there´s no spores in the air like in the UD….. and also, in various interviews the Duffer Brothers stated that they always wanted to answer from where these monsters are coming from when they have written the aspects of the mythology. The following quote shows this:
"pretty intricate in terms of what it all means, and where this monster actually came from, and why aren’t there more monsters”.
This is Ross Duffer describing the document they write to explain all the mythology in a interview of 2016. Notice that he says that the document answers where the Demogorgon actually came from, so he´s not native to the Upside Down, and it appears that they always have the idea of these monsters of the Upside Down coming from another world instead. This world only can be Dimension X, where 001 found the Demogorgons and the cloud of particles that would be transformed into the Mind Flayer. Another quote from a recent interview, which proves this:
“So we wrote this document — we spent like a week with our writers just writing out all the mythology and that really is where we really defined what the Upside Down was and where these monsters were coming from and what it all meant”. Again, they talk about answering where these monsters are coming from, so they´re not originally coming from the Upside Down.
So, Eleven sended 001 to Dimension X, a world existing in a different space-time spectrum and dimensional configuration from our world (which is the “Right Side-Up”). In Dimension X there are various alien species, like the vines and the Demogorgons. Also, there´s clouds of dark particles that form super-organisms of hive-mind intelligence. When 001 found one of these sentient beings, he molded it into the Mind Flayer and so created that giant spider-like entity we saw attacking Will in Season 2. Essentially, the Mind Flayer is a extension of Vecna´s psychotic conscience, and this is also what Jamie Campbell Bower, the actor who played Vecna, thinks, judged by the following quote:
“He created the Mind Flayer. That’s his creation, that’s his baby. That is an extension of his spiders that he loved growing up. The Upside Down itself feels like purgatory. It’s this never-ending desert of blood. It’s not blood, but you know what I mean?”.
The Upside Down is frozen at Nov 6, 1983, as we saw in S4. What this mean? This mean that the UD is not a active world copying Hawkins all the time, but rather, it´s a exact copy of Hawkins from Nov 6, 1983, the day which Eleven touched the Demogorgon and opened the Mothergate. I think that the UD was created in this day: when Eleven, at the Right Side-Up, touched the Demogorgon, from Dimension X, the two worlds touched and this created a finite world which is a mixture of Hawkins with Dimension X. The UD is this "amalgamation" of Hawkins with Dimension X, as it has vines and a dark atmosphere like that parallel dark dimension which Henry was sended to.
The brane-world concept of physics can very well explain how these dimensions works in ST. According to Oxford Dictionary of Physics, this is:
“A theory in which the four space–time dimensions of the universe that are apparent make up a surface, called the brane, in a higher-dimensional space–time, called the bulk”.
As i have understand it, the structure of our reality is organized in four dimensions, making a brane that defines the boundaries of our dimensional spectrum. However, we can have worlds existing in another branes, in another dimensional spectrums different to the spectrum of our reality, we can have worlds existing in realities organized in MORE than four dimensions, and we can´t see or access these parallel worlds. Dimension X is one of these worlds. The brane of our reality is separated from the brane of Dimension X by that strange hell-like environment which we´ve seen Henry falling before arriving at Dimension X. Michael Maher calls it “the Hellscape”, and describes it as a inter-dimensional space, so, this space of red lightinings and clouds is what separes the Right Side-Up from Dimension X. It´s a space between dimensions, between worlds.
When Eleven touched that Demogorgon while in the Void, the branes of Right Side-Up (only in Hawkins region) and Dimension X touched each other, breaking the Hellscape in that area and creating a fusion between Hawkins and Dimension X. While researching, i found a site called “Elwyns Big Bang Page” with a page explaining more deeply the brane-world cosmology, and here there´s a interesting idea with fits very well with my idea of the creation of the Upside Down:
“collisions between braneworlds can manifest themselves as big bang like beginnings, yielding universes that are parallel in time.”.
The collision of the brane that makes up the reality of Hawkins with the brane of Dimension X created a new finite universe parallel in time, the Upside Down!
Chris Trujillo, producer for Stranger Things, said something on a interview of 2017 to IndieWire that seems to fit very well with this concept of the Upside Down being a fusion between the two worlds, created when El touched the Demogorgon:
“Essentially, at the moment that the rift was formed and [unleashed] the monster, this dark dimension overlaps with the Hawkins’ world and it gets inflected with the vines and the spores”.
Chris said even more on the spotlights of Season 4, which puts even more credibility to this idea:
“The moment that the Upside Down was created inadvertently by Eleven, the set dressing and the world of the Upside Down is frozen in that moment”.
The Upside Down is frozen on Nov. 6, 1983, so it´s basically confirmed that it´s creation occurred on this day, when El touched the Demogorgon.
In a interview to GoldDerby, when asked about that strange world where Henry was sended to, Trujillo answered the following:
“In a way the Upside Down is almost this kind of amalgamation of this alternate dimension…..where we discover that Number One gets kind of pushed into this separate dimension….he essentially realizes that ‘oh i can use what i´ve found here..to sort of, create this world of my own’…and ultimately kind of land and wait for the time when the dimension opens up again..”.
So, it is basically confirmed that the creatures we´ve seen attacking Hawkins are, in fact, native from Dimension X, and that Henry created an army of monsters and then planned to contact Hawkins reality again, probably by putting a Demogorgon on Eleven´s void, creating the Upside Down, which is a amalgamation between Dimension X and Hawkins.
I think that the physics of the Upside Down works in this way: if you turn a light "on" in Hawkins, at the Right Side-Up, the energy charge running is not sufficiently to also move particles at the Upside Down in a way that also turns this light ´´on´´ in this parallel world, but, this event chain created by energy charge running at our world can move some electric particles at the Upside Down, creating a field of shiny particles around the Upside Down version of the light that was turned ´´on´´ in Hawkins! This field of shiny particles, if manipulated physically, can also move particles at the Right Side-Up, by this way, you can change light at Hawkins by manipulating this field of particles at the Upside Down, and this is what Will had done to communicate with Joyce using lights in S1!
This field of shiny particles is always around the Upside Down version of a light that has been turned "on" at Hawkins, as showed in S4E7.
With regard to how that whole hive-mind biology works, i think that Henry transcended his conscience into that cloud of dark particles. So, the dark particles now have Henry´s conscience on it, then any live being infected with the particles will also absorb part of Henry´s conscience and enter this hive-mind. That cloud of dark particles probably was a sentient being with a natural power of hive-mind, Henry only infected this hive-mind with his conscience and turned it into a monster that represents his thoughts and motivations. To truly end Vecna, i think there´s a need to destroy every piece of it´s conscience that is transcended: his physical body is only a way of manifestation to the real world, but he can also manifest through the particles. His mind is shared by every being he infected, so if we simply kill his physical body, he still will return in other ways.
When the Upside Down was created, a giant infectious gate naturally grown at the lab in Hawkins, and i think that a gate of the same kind also opened at Dimension X. Through this gate at Dimension X that Vecna sended the Mind Flayer to the Upside Down, but he probably wasn´t able to send any physical monsters, including himself, to the Upside Down, not until this gate at Dimension X have grown significantly, and this only ocurred some time at Season 3 or Season 4, when Vecna finally was able to pass physically to the Upside Down. The Demogorgon in S1 also had the ability to open mini Upside Down gates through Hawkins, and this probably is a ability that he absorbed due to it´s contact with Eleven in the void.
TL;DR: The Upside Down is a finite world created in November 6, 1983, when Eleven, while in the void, touched the Demogorgon. Upside Down is not a active world copying Hawkins all the time, rather, it´s a exact copy of Hawkins at the time it was created, mixed with the environment of Dimension X, the world where Henry was sended to by Eleven in 1979, and where he found the vines, the Demogorgons and that cloud of particles which later would be the Mind Flayer. When Eleven touched the Demogorgon, occurred a inter-dimensional contact between a being existing in the structure of the reality of Hawkins, at the Right Side-Up (Eleven), with a being existing in a different dimensional spectrum in another world, at Dimension X (the Demogorgon). The dimensional structure of the Right Side-Up touched the structure of Dimension X and this created a finite world that is a mixed copy of the two. This is the Upside Down. The existence of the Upside Down allowed Vecna to have some way to access Hawkins reality again and start his revenge.
What do you think about this? Any opinion and criticism will be greatly appreciated!

We’ll also see what some of the external teams contributing to the platform have been up to, including Gno.land’s first decentralized exchange, GnoSwap, and Adena compatibility with GRC20 tokens. Check it out.
Tendermint2 We’re making steady development progress on Tendermint2, which focuses on simplicity of design, minimal code, minimal dependencies, modular dependencies, and completeness. For the time being, Tendermint2 will stay in the main repo in a top-level folder named Tendermint2. This is the official location to develop and improve the consensus protocol until it is stable enough to be extracted from the Gno repo and become a standalone project. Currently, Tendermint2 depends on GnoVM, however, we are working to unlink this dependency and build a basic demo Tendermint2 chain and Client.
Tendermint2 JS/TS Client is a JavaScript/TypeScript client implementation for Tendermint2-based chains. The client will make it easier for developers to interact with Tendermint2 chains, with a simplified API for account and transaction management, removing a ton of manual work and allowing developers to focus on building their dApps. You can
read more about the client here. In addition to the Tendermint2 JS/TS client, we also created a Gno JS/TS client that just extends the TM2 one to provide Gno-specific functionality. You can read more about this here.
Game of Realms The incentivized competition to find the best contributors to Gno.land continues in phase one, with slow but steady progress being made. Nir1218 initiated an Evaluation DAO Kickoff discussion in
issue 792 to initiate testing code for the key smart contract infrastructure that will power the Gno.land platform. We are also interviewing architects for the core team with experience in governance modules and creating new economies on-chain, and a new DevRel team member will be joining us soon to create awesome tutorials and documentation to advance Game of Realms further. Gno.land must be built by the community and we will not rush to push Game of Realms to the second phase until we have found quality contributors to complete the challenge tasks and become the platform’s first founding members.
Gno IDE Our core development team is working on a web-based IDE for Gno.land that will greatly improve the developer experience, allowing builders to quickly spin up Gno realms and packages right on their browsers just by visiting a web app. Currently named Gno IDE but with a rebranding on the horizon, this intuitive product focuses on ease of use and improved UX, and will include all the features you’d expect from an IDE, such as auto compilation in the editor, debugging, extensive testing capability, and powerful APIs like IntelliJ to supercharge your programming.
Gno IDE currently has multiple modes to support different use cases, including a normal mode for everyday programming, similar to a standard code editor, a presentation mode for video calls or screen sharing, and an embedded mode to extend functionality, allowing you to embed the IDE directly into websites and blogs. You can also choose to edit your code in Emacs or Vim and easily switch between steps, from previous to next, making creating your tutorials and blog posts more intuitive. Watch out for more to come on Gno IDE soon, and if you want to contribute by creating a plugin for your favorite editor, open a PR to win contribution points.
Stack/Frames Management The stack/frames is an integral part of the virtual machine (VM) and the language. Stack/frames provide context for smart contract developers, enabling them to access useful information, such as the original caller, or to determine if a contract is being called through another one. The current implementation is limited in scope and relies on fixed positions in the stack which can lead to inconsistencies.
There is an ongoing
issue 683 open here and we have continued to work on enhancing stack/frames development over the last month. We’re adding a new function in the standard library std.PrevRealm (previously GetRealmCaller). Currently, we only have GetOrigCaller, which returns the user calling the first realm. This is not secure and we need a way to call the previous caller. This will allow a realm to handle GRC20 treasuries. See
issue 667 and
issue 634 for further details.
Dealing with Panics in Native Functions We have devised a solution for dealing with panics in native functions,
see pull request 732. Previously, when there was a panic in a native function, we could not recover it in Gno code. An example of this was the assert origin call, which panicked if the call was not a direct call from a transaction. Based on discussions with contributors, we’ve agreed that native functions should never panic, but if they panic, they panic with machined Gno panic. This gives us the choice in a native function to code a Gno panic, or, if it's a very bad panic, use Go panic so that we know the Gno code is unable to recover it.
Logic Upgrading Making it possible to upgrade your logic is definitely out of scope for the first version of Gno.land, however, it’s an important issue that we have begun to discuss so that we can place certain restrictions on it, such as allowing upgrades when we consider them safe enough to be compatible with imports. Another idea is to work on creating workflows where migrations become something official. This way, we could define ways to migrate a contract completely in a single transaction at the chain level. Once everything is working and approved as the previous contract is parsed or archived, the new one gets the data. We will revisit this topic after the first version of Gno.land reaches the mainnet.
Garbage Collection In terms of garbage collection, we don’t have memory leaks as such but we do have defacto memory leaks. By the VM having references to all objects, they won’t be released by Go’s underlying GC. We have some form of reference counting but it is only done at the end of a transaction. We have implemented a mark-and-sweep garbage collector and are working on the VM runtime to manage the objects and signal to the garbage collector to release them when they are no longer needed. This is done by adding the notion of a heap, which is managed by the garbage collector.
GnoVM Developing GnoVM is an ongoing task and we will likely need to fork the GnoVM to create different competing versions. GnoVM will be complete, limited in features, and serve as the only interpreter, an enduring reference point over time. Future versions of GnoVM will be designed to incorporate CosmWasm so that all Cosmos chains can have CosmWasm enabled and the VM can run directly on the browser and execute tasks on the browser without requiring to make an API call, making it faster. To do this, we can make a Gno compiler in WebAssembly without changing the code because Go supports WASM cross-compilation.
We plan on making a competing version of the original minimalist GnoVM, such as a Rust version with a JIT compiler using LLVM as a backend.
Ecosystem Updates Since our last update, the Gno.land community continues to expand with awesome teams and contributors building cool infrastructure and projects on the platform. Below, we take a look at the largest developments of the past few weeks and extend a special thanks to everyone helping us build Gno.land.
Teritori Teritori blockchain and multi-chain hub launched in November 2022, allowing IBC and non-IBC communities to connect, create groups, exchange tokens and NFTs, and launch new projects. Teritori’s idea for building on Gno.land is to create a multi-chain experience for users with a web portal, NFT marketplace, and social feed that will grow the community, and gradually integrate smart contracts and realms. This will promote Gno.land to more developers and showcase all the dApps being built through an easy-to-navigate dApp store. In the coming weeks, Teritori will work with the Onbloc team to integrate the Athena wallet into their portal as well as discuss ideas for promoting Game of Realms to new developers.
Onbloc Onbloc is one of the Gno.land ecosystem’s most active contributors, responsible for building the Adena wallet and the block explorer Gnoscan. The team has also been working on creating an official Gno SDK that will allow developers to interact with Gno.land more easily, and remove some of the current friction. Onbloc opened
issue 701 on GitHub primarily for developers who either have their own web app or are building a JavaScript app and want to work with Gno in some way. Currently, developers need to do a lot of manual work, which Gno SDK will abstract away, improving the workflow and developer experience. If you have any ideas or feedback, please contribute to the aforementioned issue.
In another cool development, Onbloc has rolled out a new feature in Adena and Gnoscan to provide support for GRC20 tokens. To store and send tokens, you can open your Adena wallet, click on "Manage Tokens”, navigate to the Custom Token page, and see which GRC20 tokens are available on Gno Testnet 3, searching by the symbol or path. To research on or discover tokens, head over to the Tokens page on Gnoscan for a full list of GRC20 tokens. You can click on any token on the list for detailed information, such as the total supply, owner, or other available functions built into the token. The Account Details page has also been updated to display all tokens owned by each address. You can help by checking out
issue 764, which discusses adding bigint to support a wide range of numbers and encoding binary, and
issue 816, which highlights a small bug the team runs into when coding.
Onbloc has also created a new
token resource page on GitHub for anyone to share or upload resources associated with their Gno.land project. This will serve as a shared knowledge pool about any dApp on the platform. If you wanted to create a decentralized exchange, for example, you would need all the information about the tokens available on Gno.land, such as their images, symbols, descriptions, links to websites, etc. Now you can find this in one handy GitHub repository. If you’re a developer or builder who wants your logo or any other static data posted, be sure to submit a PR.
And speaking of decentralized exchanges, Onbloc is also building Gnoswap, the first DEX to be powered by Gno.land, designed to simplify the concentrated liquidity experience and increase capital efficiency for traders. Its interface is built using TypeScript to be user-friendly, secure, and accessible for streamlining complex mechanisms such as price range configurations and staking as part of its core service. Contribute to its interface
here.
As for the contract side, Onbloc is actively working on its development with help from the core members of Gno.land. The code will be open-sourced for full transparency once the basic functions are ready.
New Core Contributors We’re excited to welcome two new core team members, Antonio and Zack. Antonio joined us in April in the core team, bringing with him vast experience in IPFS, and writing Git servers in Go. Zack is our first “tinkerer in residence” and will try to bootstrap the ecosystem of small contracts and small libraries. He will also be writing apps and helping us design a system to better share and showcase our work with a super UX for team builders and open-source addicts.
Antonio is already hard at work researching a benchmarking dashboard that will show performance improvements or regressions when we change the code. He’s assessing whether to use GiHub to track actions or run our own machine to execute GitHub actions. Take a peek at his research so far on
issue 783 here.
Zack is working on a microblog project. As an experienced web2 Go programmer, Zack is transitioning to web3. Since he’s interested in incentivized social networks, the microblog project will be his first realm, as a Twitter-style blog without titles, where each user has their own page based on their address. Check out
issue 391 for more details.
Developer Events Over the past few weeks, our core devs have been mainly focused on building but they’re preparing to speak at some exciting events in the coming months. Catch up with Manfred at BUIDL Asia, in Seoul, South Korea, from June 5 - 9. We’re co-hosting a side event with Onbloc, Code States, and Cosmostation on June 5, so be sure to register if you’re in town! 2023.05.31 20:14 rarebitt A timeline of events described in the People Make Games video
So I have been tying to piece together the events that happened in ZA/UM based on the interviews in the People Make Games video that was recently released. The events are spread a couple of years and hard to put together and is impossible to follow the chronology from one watching. That's why I have to the best of my abilities tried to reconstruct events here. It was kinda hard considering there are no exact dates for most events.
Also eventually I want to make a longer post commenting on the video so it was useful for myself for better understand what happened.
Keep in mind I have not included the following lawsuits and press releases, because I was more interested in the working of the company and the accusations of toxic work enviroment
- 15 October 2019 - Disco Elysium released for Windows after years of crunch
- All the Staff that worked on the game were given 3-4 months to rest, so they were back to work around mid January- mid February 2020
- 1 November 2019 - In an interview Robert Kurvitz announces that there will be an expansion and later a sequel to the game, an TTRPG he's going to write called "You Are Vapor" and an English translation of his Elysium novel "Sacred and Terrible Air" which is supposed to come out 2020. That translation never materialized. Instead we have two different fan translations (check the pinned post in this subreddit.
- Supposedly after the break work on Disco Elysium: The Final Cut starts
- Sometime in Early 2020 - Shares in ZA/UM are redistributed. Kourvitz, Rostov and Kender get around 10%. A ZA/UM UK ltd is established to control the Disco Elysium IP. 20% respectably are owned by Kurvitz, Rostov, Kaur and Kompus. The final 20% it is owned by Tonis Haavel's wife.
- 27 April 2020 - Disco Elysium is released for MacOS
- 1 May 2020 - And update for the game is released
- Sometime in 2020 New Elysium ltd is established which is supposed to control the IP for the DE sequel. Linamae controls 10% and Kompus 5% of this company. The rest belongs to ZA/UM UK ltd.
- Two weeks before the end of August Helena Hindpere learns for the first in a meeting that there are only 2 weeks left until script freeze and that the deadline for DE:TFC is March 2021. She was previously unaware of any deadlines existing. In a call Kaur Kender tells her that he just forgot to tell her.
- Shortly after she has a call with Tonis Haavel who screams at her and berates her.
- At start of 2021, Rostov asks Casper Tamsalu (shortly before Casper transitioned to working full time in February) to temporarily replace his as art design lead. Rostov said that he had to walk away because he couldn't take the "pressure cooker environment". This was supposed to last 1 month but extended up to 3 months and was later followed by Rostov's two month vacation.
- 30 March 2021 - Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is released for Windows (as a free upgrade for DE), PlayStation 4, 5 and Stadia
- Some time before the vacation Robert Kurvitz tells Casper that he plans to take Rostov and two writers and work on the sequel. From what I understand they were going to work out details during the their two month vacation
- Kurvitz gives writing assignments to two junior writers who had worked on TFC with the promise that if he likes their work they are going to be promoted to full writer. A day before he goes on vacation Kurvitz has a call with writer Justin Keen and ask him to give feedback to the writers and tell them that their submission were "good" but they wont be getting the promotions. (this may be related with his decision to work on the sequel for the time being with only two other writers). Later Justin heard from one of the writers that Robert told them that he didn't read their submission.
- Sometime in March-June Kurvitz and Rostov along with Arlo take 2 months of paid vacation. Supposedly they use the time to flesh-out ideas for the sequel.
- Sometime in June while Kurvitz is still in vacation Helen Hindpere is in a leads meeting which Kurvitz was not invited to. Robert (he's dating Hindpere) interjects in the meeting, taking her headset.
- 8 June 2021 Tonis Haavel sends Kurvitz an angry email saying he disrespected the hierarchical structure and was a bully
- Around the start of July Ilmar Kompus buys out the share of MM (Margus Linnamae's company) in ZA/UM for 3 000 000 Euros making him the majority stakeholder. He uses 300 000 Euros of his own money and takes a 1 300 000 Euro loan from ZA/UM UK lmt which Kaur Kender sings off on. He's still not completed the full payment though. At some later on, not clear when, Helen Hindpere discovers this by looking at the Business registry.
- Around the same Kurvitz and Rostov's position in the company were changed. They claimthey were demoted from leadership positions and for future titles. According to writers Arlo Tuulik and Justin Keenan they were assigned administrative counterparts who would interface with production and manage the writing team - Keenan for Kurvitz in the writing team and Casper Tamsalu for Rostov's in the art team. Kurvitz title was no longer a lead but according to Arlo he was still defacto running the writers team. Also according to Arlo a month or two after the cahnge in positions Kurvitz began being dissatisfied his new position and wanted to go back to his diretorial role. Also Arlo claims that it was Kurvitz who previously convinced Rostov to step out of the position of art director.
- Around Fall 2020 in a call with Tamsalu, Kenenan and Rostov, Kurvitz says he plans to create a separate company to work on the sequel and will invite both of them. According to Casper he was flying to talk to Kompos in-person at the time.
- Around October Kurvitz has another call with Casper and Justin and Rostov, where he proposes a plan where they work on a smaller project with Casper and Justin as leads and then return to the DE sequel where Kurvitz and Rostov will return in leadership positions.
- 12 October 2021 - Disco Elysium is released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S
- 17 October 2021 - Kurvitz starts an email thread with Ilmar from his and Rostov's name and subsequently there are a number of meeting with Ilmar. They discuss their roles as employees and shareholders in the company, their positions and titles. They also request a list of company documents.
- c. 1 November 2021 Ilmar stops responding to the emails.
- 2 November 2021 - Kurvitz asks lead technologist Pretteri Sulonen for Disco Elysium's source code and says that he plans to start a new company
- 9 November 2021 - Kurvitz and Rostov have a final meeting with Ilmar
- 5 or 6 days after the meeting Kurvitz and Rostov are fired
- couple of days later Hindpere is also fired
- In December of 2021 Ilmar effectively embezzles money from ZA/UM by buying an asset from then for 1 pound and selling it back to them for 4 300 000 pounds. He uses the money he took from the company to pay back the loan he took from the ZA/UM Ltd and to pay the money he owes Margus Linnamae for buying his share in the same company he stole from.
- 2022 - producer Yuan Zhang-Taal (Rostov's wife) leaves ZA/UM
- December 2023 Kompus offers Kurvitz and Rostov hush money to settle the lawsuit
A couple if things to add. Justin Keenan suggest that there was a "1-year sabbatical" for Robert Kurvitz which ended around the time gave the writing assignments to junior writers. Which would make it around April 2020 to April 2021

In compliance with the memorandum issued on April 17, 2020, by the Executive in Charge, Office of the Under Secretary for Health (10) entitled “Suspension of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Collections Activities and Extension of VHA Claim and Appeal Filing Deadlines”, and the end of the emergency period defined in 42 U.S.C. 1320b5(g)(1), this policy is no longer effective as of June 9, 2023, and 30-day timely filing for Beneficiary Travel Benefits will resume.
This means you can submit claims that are over 30 days BUT only until June 9, 2023 because then you are back to having to file by the 30-day timeframe!!!!!
This has come up a lot about submitting travel reimbursement on the BTSSS website and it is super frustrating and I have been working on all my travel claims today. I have really dived into this today and I hope this helps.
This the website/portal to go in and file your travel claims -
https://dvagov-btsss.dynamics365portals.us/ When you are in the BTSSS system you will see your claims and you can click on them to navigate through the claim process. You are eligible for mileage, hotel, tolls and meals in some instances where you have to travel for your appointment and stay over night and I have a video on that on my YT channel.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uZkD_2By_0o While in the BTSSS portal if you don't see your claim or appointment on your dashboard, you will need to click on the "create a claim" button (see screen shot). There you can manual do your claim. On the next screen you will see "chose an appointment" and you will click the hyper blue link "select" and create the claim and then submit the claim after you have added mileage and anything else you need to claim. If you still don't see your appointment you can scroll to the bottom and click "create a new one" (see screen shot)
Also, keep in mind if you are out of town and go to a VA ER you can claim that as well. You would just need to amend the address of where you were and then it will calculate for you.
For example: I fell and injured my ankle last month while in Virginia (we live in Florida). I went to the Hampton VA and today I filed the claim for it using the local address in Virginia I was staying at.
Now let's talk about appointments out in the community:
If the appointment is NOT at the VA but out in the community, you are going to need to have proof you went. Either a letter from your provider (see screen shot) or the VA CCN letter (see screen shot) that provides the EOB (Explanation of benefits) and this is that website -
https://veteran.vacommunitycare.com/ go create an account and you can access ALL your EOB's for any community care appointment that has been paid by the VA. That is clear proof you went to the provider.
**
I know everyone is frustrated with this and I hope this helps.***
Here is the OIG report!!
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) established the beneficiary travel program to reimburse veterans and caregivers for travel expenses for approved healthcare appointments. VHA spent over $1.3 billion on this program in fiscal year 2021. Both VA and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) have identified the beneficiary travel program as susceptible to significant improper payments.
In September 2016, VA awarded a contract to create a web-based system called the Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS) to automate the travel reimbursement claims process, reduce long-term costs, provide better oversight, and decrease the risk of improper payments. In November 2020, VA started using the new system nationwide. Complaints to the OIG suggested the new system had not been meeting its intended goals, prompting a review of its implementation.
Although VHA has made improvements since BTSSS rollout, the OIG found it needs to do more to ensure successful implementation. The Veterans Transportation Program (VTP) office, which oversees the beneficiary travel program, established four goals to measure success. The OIG found that from February 2021 through July 2022 (the review period), BTSSS fell short of all four metrics on increased automated claims adjudication, reduced manual overrides, greater new system usage, and more self-service use.
VA concurred with the OIG’s four recommendations. They included that the VTP director determine what system changes are needed to meet auto-adjudication goals and implement them, as well as conduct outreach to users, solicit feedback, and then consider whether system changes are needed to increase self-service portal usage. The OIG also recommended the assistant under secretary for health for operations create an action plan to phase out continued use of the legacy beneficiary travel function and coordinate with the VHA finance office and assess whether duplicate payments were made to veterans requesting travel reimbursement since the new system went live.

2023.05.31 19:00 Future_Vehicle_8307 22 Blue in 2022: 'THE QUICK LIST'
22 Blue in 2022: 'THE LIST'
Build Supermajorities of Democrats in the US House and US Senate
Here’s “22 Blue in 2022: ‘A Quick List’”:
- Florida 2. Ohio 3. Kansas 4. North Carolina 5. Kentucky 6. Arizona7. South Carolina 8. Georgia 9. Texas 10. Michigan 11. Nevada 12. Pennsylvania13. Missouri 14. Wisconsin 15. Iowa 16. Arkansas 17. Oklahoma 18. Indiana19. Colorado 20. Alabama 21. South Dakota 22. North Dakota
The 2022 Midterm Election is the most important midterm of our lifetime.Democrats must behave as if our lives depend on this midterm, because our future depends on the outcome.
”We the people” must deny the Republican party political power at every level of government for decades to come “in order to create a more perfect union.” With 48 States having some statewide contest(s), November 8th, 2022 is our best chance the Democrats will get to do that for the rest of this decade, at least.
”The List” encourages the election of a Democratic Supermajority in the US Senate in 2022. This is the best chance we will have to create a Democratic Supermajority in both Chambers of Congress for the remainder of this decade. This midterm could be a devastating loss for the democrats if good patriots ignore this election. If Americans of good conscience band together instead, we could could begin the exile of the Republican party from power, not for years, but for decades to come.
“The List” is a set of suggestions about where to focus collective activism today.
The election of Democratic Supermajorities to both chambers of the US Congress is the best outcome we can strive towards in the 2022 Midterm Election for many reasons. Among them: breaking the decade of gridlock in Congress, supporting President Biden’s agenda, and his re-election in 2024. My personal favorite is that this could commence the decades-long political banishment of the GOP from power, which the Republican Party so richly deserves.
The Republican party has proved itself treasonous on many levels. They are traitors to Humanity by supporting Trump. Traitors to the Nation for supporting Putin. Traitors to the government and betrayers of the constitution through their apologies for the 1/6/21 insurrection. To safeguard our country and the world, we must block the Republicans from power at the ballot box, at all levels of government, for at least a generation.
Political game playing may be inevitable among humans. Change the numbers, and then change the rules, if not the game. Cynical refusal to play at this time in history cedes power to NAZIs manipulated by Active Measures. That is a surrender to crypto fascism, not radical thinking, mere cynicism, or hipsterism.
In 2022, Patriots must unify to crush the Republican Party at the ballot box. We can defeat them in every State, at every level. We need the biggest turnout at the voting booth of any Midterm ever. We need to raise more money for candidates and organizations than we did during the entire 2020 campaign season if we are to accomplish this. We need to do this in the next six months.
This is what a “Blue Tsunami” REALLY looks like.
Electing a Democratic Supermajority in Congress is our hope for the future and retribution for America’s enemies. “22 Blue in 2022” is a roadmap to the beginning of that journey. “22 Blue in 2022” is our war plan. ”22 Blue in 2022” is our electoral battle cry. “22 Blue in 2022” is a way forward out of gridlock, a way to non-violently thwart those who would poison the body politic with their hate.
If we don’t try this hard in 2022, Trump will go unpunished and metastasize by 2024.
Resist In Power, my sisters, my brothers, and my others.
Resist Together, and elect a Congressional Supermajority in 2022!

2023.05.31 18:34 IzHyde Legal advice on what I can do about my neighbor
So about a year ago, we moved into a home and paid $2000 down and started doing rent to own. We make payments on the house and will be making payments for the next 3.5 years. Our neighbors got angry that we purchased the house, and asked our landlord if they could buy it in full, which he told them no because he wanted us to have it. So for the past year, she has been unhooking our water lines and we didn't realize it until November of 2022. We got a paper from the woman who owns the spring saying we are allowed to use it. So she began putting things in our water, and we didn't feel comfortable using the water anymore with our son being the one who drinks it. So we switched to city water. She purposely let's her dogs run all over our property, if we open the door the dogs go in our house and we have to shoo them away. When her dogs are in heat they sit in front of our door and howl. We contacted the police and they just gave her a fine after she bit my boyfriend and my sister, but she still allows the dogs to come onto our property. This morning she piled huge rocks on our driveway and says she owns the driveway now and we need to find a different way to get into our house. I told her she needed to get off my property, and when I tried to drive away, she jumped into my car and tried to pull my dog and my son from the car. I got out and told her if she didn't back up, I was macing her. She told us that as soon as we leave, she's lighting a match and setting our house on fire. We had this all on recording. Both of us called the law and they refused to do anything and called it a civil matter, and told us we need to get our land surveyed and file a restraining order. However they won't file the restraining order even with proof unless we have both of her addresses (both where she lives and where she stays on certain days). When I called the police department back and asked what they were going to do, they said "oh well, its not our problem it's the magistrates." And hung up when I asked if I could talk to a supervisor, because I fear for my son's safety. My sister said she is giving me the number for her lawyer, but I'm not sure they can even do anything. Is there anything a lawyer would be able to do in this situation?

2023.05.31 18:09 RISPOLITRON-9000 Hello, Are there any major issues with my resume? Career switcher looking for an Entry Level Position
2023.05.31 17:15 AutoModerator RepWeidianSneakers Member Guide and Rulebook: Read Upon Arrival and Before Posting!
Hello, and welcome to
RepWeidianSneakers! Whether you’re a long-time member or someone new who just straggled in from one of the other replica subreddits, this
recurring post will serve as an introduction to or reminder of the subreddit rules. This group runs in several key ways that may be different from other groups to ensure we maintain a high-quality group where well-informed replica buyers can engage in constructive conversation regarding the best batches for various shoes, batch flaws of popular and commonly purchased batches, and QC posts of new and old products alike.
Please do your best to stay up-to-date on the latest subreddit rules and cultural norms in order to make sure that your participation in the group is in accordance with how we run things here! All sub rules are visible along the side bar if on desktop, and under the "About" tab if on mobile. We appreciate your attention and diligence to subreddit policies, and hope you enjoy your time here!
The following rules will be outlined in the following ways:
- Most Important Rule of the Sub
- Post Formats (QC, Find, Help Me Find)
- General Subreddit/Reddit-Wide Rules
Rule #1: Sneakers from Weidian, TaoBao only This one should be self-explanatory - QCs for shoes purchased from middlemen are not allowed on this sub. I understand that many users value the input from members in this subreddit specifically due to their reputation and credibility, but we want to keep this sub as pure to its purpose as possible. If there are specific people from whom you want input from, feel free to post in the other rep subs and tag them.
Additionally, when users ask for recommendations on where to purchase, make sure to provide links to Weidian or TaoBao stores, and not middlemen. Middlemen sell Weidian/TaoBao products at a markup for convenience -
always focus on the actual product. Rule #2: QC Post Title Guidelines: [QC] {Price in Yuan} {Batch} {Shoe Name} from {Seller Name} When posting your QCs or Finds, use the following format: [QC] {Price in Yuan} {Batch} {Shoe Name} from {Seller Name}.
Example: [QC] 400¥ FK Batch Travis Scott x Jordan 1 High OG Mocha from A GDJ Supplier The Group Automod comments on every single post in this group with a reminder of this title format.
If your title does not include each of the necessary components in the brackets above, please be proactive and repost with the correct format. If you don’t delete the post, a moderator will, and that or repeated infractions may result in a temporary ban from the group.
This rule exists to ensure the group is easily searchable to help make researching batches on your own as streamlined as possible. Rule #3: QC Posts need W2C Link:
If you are posting a QC, make sure to post the W2C link. If the listing link is dead, please post the link to the store where the shoe was purchased instead. No W2C link will result in the deletion of your post!
You are welcome to post Weidian links, TaoBao links, or links from any shipping agent except for PandaBuy, given that PandaBuy forces you to login to see the item, whereas the other agent links do not.
Linking a PandaBuy link and not an alternative link will result in the deletion of your post. Rule #4: Help Me Find Post Title Guidelines: [HELP ME FIND] {Shoe Name} + Picture of Shoe If you are hunting for a certain pair, your
post title must include the Full Shoe Name and Colorway as well as a picture of the shoe in question. If either is missing, your post will be deleted.
This rule exists to reduce the number of repetitive “Help Me Find” posts, as a user will be able to search previously posted “Help Me Find” posts for the shoe they want. Example: [HELP ME FIND] Jordan 1 High Chicago
Rule #5: Find Post Title Guidelines: [FIND] {Price in Yuan} {Batch} {Shoe Name} from {Seller Name} Okay, so you’re on WeChat, and a seller has posted a new product. You want to be the first one to post about it on Reddit, so you rush over and make the post. Great, pat yourself on the back. Just kidding. Don’t just stop there - put some thought into the post. How does this new find compare to other products on the market? Do they have potential? You don’t have to be an expert QCer, but give your general thoughts.
In short, were these worth finding? The hope is that with this general subreddit policy, it will encourage people to post high-quality finds and reduce clutter from low-tier finds that don’t add much to the group. Rule #6: Be Respectful of One Another Please be nice and courteous to one another. All rules of Reddiquette apply. Your membership in this subreddit is contingent upon your overall Reddit activity, not just limited to this subreddit. To put explicitly, this includes but is not limited to: harassing or disrespecting others in other subreddits, posting hate speech of any kind, or spreading misinformation. Any violation of this will result in the banning of your account and any alternate accounts you may be known to have!
Rule #7: No Cussing In line with the previous rule, no cussing on the sub, please. Often, on the rep subs, the only time people are cussing is to insult one another, spread misinformation, or speak illy in general. For this reason, an AutoMod is in place that will regulate posts and comments on the sub. Your post/comment will be deleted and you will receive a message alerting you if this happens. Bonus: Mr. Frosty can't post or comment without some sort of explicit language, so this simple rule (and the accompanying AutoMod) keeps the sub safe
Rule #8: Support Your Statements with Evidence Essentially, cite your source. Let's avoid being like other rep subs where people make up rumors or decide their opinions without any research or evidence.
If you comment saying a batch is the best or better than what has been posted, show us why. Link reference posts, rep vs retails, QCs, etc. Show, rather than tell, us why what you're saying is correct. If your statement is a good one, this shouldn't be difficult. As above, don't default to name calling if you can't support your statement. It is okay to have a well-informed opinion - it is not okay to have an uneducated opinion that you spread as fact.
If you run into issues with a member or members in the group that are not participating in this group norm, please tag a mod, and the situation will be handled accordingly.
Rule #9: No Seller Ads Self-explanatory. This especially applies to lost middlemen posting their fake QCs to try to gain business.
If you are a member and see this, please report the post. If a post receives enough reports, it is automatically removed and sent to the mod queue. This helps keep the group clean through community effort.
Rule #10: No WeChat Verification Posts I understand that you may want your WeChat verified in order to communicate with sellers or see their WeChat Moments. There are other subs for WeChat Verifications though. Please do not make these posts here. Use the appropriate subs. Posts will be deleted.
Rule #11: No Memes This group aims to be a research-focused subreddit. It prides itself on providing the most objective information possible. Please keep the memes or satire posts in other subs. This includes meme titles or captions such as "how fast do I need to walk" or "fire up the rep machines." These posts add little to no value and are often unoriginal anyway.
Any use of meme titles will result in a 14-day temp ban as previously announced, as will repeated infractions of posting other memes.
Lastly, this Group is Not Meant to Be a Direct Line to u/poncecatchemall Please reference his guides and resources linked below for answers to most commonly asked questions. He does not read chats asking repetitive questions, and mod mail is not meant to be used to ask specifically him questions, so do not use it for that purpose.

2023.05.31 17:12 GingerBeardMatt Ionic recall or more like SCAM?
Device deactivated in November 2022, then some problem with SN number in their system. Approved for refund end of April 2023. Tells me it was approved too late for April batch to be sent. End of May. They don't know why it was not sent. They can't give a time frame. They can't even maintain a contact only tells me they will put me to higher support. Hours later they respond that higher support will place me to another one. When I ask for legal department, they say, "I don't know address for that" or "We don't have one". I want to send a demand letter and they won't provide an address for that... Sucks to be a fitbit customer. Let's make a one big, tasty lawsuit for all people who didn't got their refunds.
