To start... what am I doing here? I'm starting to wonder if I genuinely want a relationship or if I just like the idea of being in one. Though maybe I just haven't met the right people. I'm not in the best situation to be trying to meet someone in person at the moment. Between work and other things taking up the free time in my schedule. That being said I have a fair bit of down time during the day currently that I can make use of pursuing something online at least.
Why reddit of all places? Frankly just cause it's not a dating app. They encourage the worst of both men and women in dating. On top of that they help further promote a terrible dating culture. 10/10 not a fan, it's demeaning to both sexes in my opinion and only makes genuinely connecting with people that much harder.
So! A bit about me, I'm a home body. I prefer to spend my free time at home. How exciting, I know! Grab your bingo card cause I'm a pretty standard guy. Plays video games, watches anime, reads manga, big on movies, my music taste is ALL over the place, I ride a motorcycle, I have a few guns and go shooting every once in a while when I can spare the ammo for it. Usually make a day of it with friends/family. Probably (definitely) spend too much time on YouTube. I have an ongoing fascination with psychology/philosophy, always have and probably always will. Generally just a big nerd.
That being the case, my work keeps me active. I'm working at the airport currently fueling planes right now (this heat is so much fun), but I've done construction, restaurant work, planned on going into the Army but got out during basic (long story), and worked at a gym for a bit so I've always been in at least passable shape. I'm 6ft 170-ish lbs for an idea
What I'm looking for? Connection. To put it simply. Emotional and physical (get your mind out of the gutter) A kind of connection and bond you can't have with friends, even if you do kiss the homes good night Between snuggling/cuddling on the couch just lazing away watching whatever, talking about anything and everything, trudging through life's hurdles, learning about and being a part of each other's worlds.
That being said, and as much as I dislike it about myself I do find physical attraction to be really important, equally to personality. The lack of one can't be made up for by the other for me
With that out in the open I'm an open book! Except for a few pages I've ripped out... and a few others I've smeared in ink... and one or two that I've burned... but aside from those anything goes!
So I'd like to find out... does the abyss gaze back?

2023.06.01 01:29 JohannGoethe Moral EAN etymology
| M = 𓌳 The root letter of the word moral is letter M, which is based on the sickle: 𓌳, 13th letter, value: 40, the tool used to cut successfully grown crops 🌱, which translates as “food” and “clothing“ for society. On this basis, the Egyptians produced a yearly-changing set of 42 laws, called “negative confessions”, that regulated society towards this end of growing successful crops, intermixed with regulating other social taboos, e.g. lying, cheating, stealing, etc. Maat Maat, in the Egyptian scheme, was the goddess of universal moral order: Various depictions of Maat, the Egyptian moral order goddess. The bottom left image: 𓁦 𓏥 𓏏, might be a glpyh forerunner for the Greek Moirai (μοιρα) [221], or three fate sisters? Glyphs or glyph groups defining this goddess include: - Maat = 𓆄, meaning: “truth feather” 🪶.
- Maat = 𓁦, meaning: “morality goddess”
- Maat = 𓐙𓌳𓏏𓂣, meaning: Maat plinth, sickle (𓌳) [letter: M], bread (𓏏) [sound: ”t”], and arm (𓂣)
- Maat = 𓐙𓌳𓏏 𓂡, meaning: Maat plinth, sickle (𓌳) [letter: M], bread (𓏏) [sound: ”t”], and arm holding something (𓂡)
- Maat = 𓁦 𓏥 𓏏, meaning: moral feather 🪶 goddess, times three (𓏥), and bread 🍞 (𓏏)?
The so-called Maat plinth, symbol: 𓐙, is defined by Gardiner as the Aa11 symbol, the specifics of which are as follows: The Aa11 (𓐙) glyph definition according to Alan Gardiner, which define it as the phonetic symbol for “maa” or m3’ in guesstimated cartophonetic symbols. In the Greek rescript, the 42 laws of Maat became Dike (Δικη) [42], the goddess of justice. Dike in the Roman rescript, became Justicia, which is where the modern word justice derives. Alphanumerically, this 4th column of the periodic table, or 4-40-400 cipher, defined the Egyptian concept of moral, or letter M (𓌳), value: 40, choices “you”, or letter Y, value: 400, make. This is why Khufu pyramid, which is built at the tip of the delta (Δ) [4], or solar birthing location, is 440 cubits, or 40 + 400 units in base length. Moirai (μοῖρα) In Greek mythology, Moirai (μοιρα) [221], i.e. three sisters: Klotho (Κλωθώ), Lachesis (Λάχεσις), and Atropos (Ἄτροπος), were defined as the universal enforcers of fate, or a concept of a universal principle of natural order and balance. This model is thought, e.g. here, to be the Greek rescript of the three daughters of Maat, or something to this affect? Moros and Thanatos In 2650A (-695), Hesiod, in his Theogony, introduced the gods Thanatos, aka “death”, and Moros (Μόρος), aka “doom”, which seem to prefigure the later coining of “moribus” by Cicero in On Fate (2000A/-45). The Roman rescript of Moros is Fatum. Mor In Latin, the term “mor” translates as “death”. In Roman mythology, the god Mor and goddess Mors came to be associated with taking away dead bodies. Mores In Latin, the term “mores”, seems to have prefigured, by come centuries, the term “moribus” (Cicero, 2000A/-45), and eventually ”morals” in English. Cicero In 2000A (-45), Cicero, in his On Fate ( De Fato) (§1), is oft-credited with coining the term “morals” via the Latin term moribus, based on the Greek term ethos (ηθος), defined by axiomata (αξιωματα), which are explained further, as concerns the future, by dynaton (δυνατων), i.e. divine powers or forces, or something to this effect: Latin | Google | Yonge (102A/1853) | ... quia pertinet ad mores, quod ἦθος [ethos] illi vocant, nos eam partem philosophiae de moribus appellare solemus, sed decet augentem linguam Latinam nominare moralem; | ... because it pertains to morals, which they call ἦθος [ethos], we are wont to call that part of philosophy moral, but it is fitting to call the growing Latin language moral; | That branch of philosophy which, because it relates to manners, the Greeks usually term ‘ethics’, from: ήθος [ethos], the Latins have hitherto called the philosophy of manners. But it may be well for one who designs to enrich the Latin language, to call it moral science. | explicandaque vis est ratioque enuntiationum, quae Graeci ἀξιώματα [axiomata] vocant; | and to explain the force and reason of the utterances, which the Greeks call ἀξιώματα [axiomata]; | And here we have to explain the nature and force of certain propositions which the Greeks term axioms (ἀξιώματα). | What power they have when they say something about the future, and about what may or may not be done, is an obscure question, which the philosophers call περὶ δύστῶν [perí dýstón], and the whole is λογική [logikí], which I call the reason of disputing. | When these propositions relate to the future, and speak of possibilities and impossibilities, it is difficult to determine their precise force. Such propositions necessarily refer to the amount of possibility, and are only resolvable by logic, which I call the art of reasoning. | But what I have done in other books, which are about the nature of the gods, and also in those which I have published about divination, in order that a continuous speech may be explained on both sides, so that it may be more easily proved by both, which seemed to each the most probable, that in this discussion about the fate of chance some prevented me from doing so. | But I cannot avail myself in this essay on Fate of the method I employed in that other style of mine in which I discussed the Nature of the Gods, or in the book which I published on the doctrine of divination: in which treatises the sentiments of each philosophic school are explained in a continuous discourse; in order that each reader might the more easily adopt that opinion which appeared to him the more probable. | Ethos (ήθος) The following is the EAN of ethos (ήθος): Greek | English | # | Meaning | ή | e | 8 | Ogdoad water source of all. | ήθ | eth | 17 | Ennead, the supreme law defining god family, born out of Ogdoad. | ήθο | etho | 87 | Former + 360º (omicron), meaning: governed all days of the year? | ήθος | ethos | 287 | | Axiomata (ἀξιώματα) The following is the EAN of axiomata (αξιωματα), which Cicero says are at the basis of “ethos”, which thus defines his new Latin term “moralem”, i.e. “morals” in English: Greek | English | # | Meaning | ἀ | a | 1 | | ἀξ | ax | 61 | Former + 𓊽 (djed letter), presumably related to axioms that defined the laws or stability of the universe? Equals: nai (ναι), meaning: “yes; truly”. | ἀξι | axi | 71 | | ἀξιώ | axio | 871 | Equals: chaos (χαος), meaning: “origin“; aphros (αφρός), meaning: “sea foam of Venus”; including 5 other potential ciphers. | ἀξιώμ | axiom | 911 | | ἀξιώμα | axioma | 912 | | ἀξιώματ | axiomat | 1212 | | ἀξιώματα | axiomata | 1213 | | Dynaton (δυνατῶν) The following is the EAN of dynaton (δυνατων), which Cicero says relates to the power or force of moralem (morals) related to the future: Greek | English | # | Meaning | δ | d | 4 | | δυ | dy | 404 | Equals: endexios (ενδεξιος), meaning: “on the right hand; favorable”. | δυν | dyn | 454 | | δυνα | dyna | 455 | | δυνατ | dynat | 755 | | δυνατῶ | dynato | 825 | | δυνατῶν | dynaton | 875 | | In following quote, we see the dyna- suffix: ”In school, we learn about the dynameis (δυναμεις) 𓊹 of the stoicheia (στοιχεια) or letter-number elements.” — Dionysios of Halicarnssus (1985/-30), Demosthenes (52); cited by Barry Powell (A36/1999) in Homer and the Origin of the Greek Alphabet (pg. 22) We also note that dynamis (δυναμις) [705], a variant spelling, was found here to be possibly a part of the root EAN of the word etymology. Other Charlton Lewis and Charles Short, in their Latin Dictionary (76A/1879), give the following: mōrālis , e, adj. mores, I. of or belonging to manners or morals, moral (a word formed by Cicero; cf. moratus): quia pertinet ad mores, quos ἤθη Graeci vocant, nos eam partem philosophiae de moribus appellare solemus. Sed decet augentem linguam Latinam nominare moralem, Cic. Fat. 1, 1; “imitated by Seneca and Quintil.: philosophiae tres partes esse dixerunt, moralem, naturalem, et rationalem,” Sen. Ep. 89, 9; Quint. 12, 2, 10: pars illa philosophiae ἠθική moralis est dicta, id. 6, 2, 8; cf. “also,” id. 12, 2, 19 and 20: “epistolae,” Gell. 12, 2, 3. —Hence, adv.: mōrālĭter , in a characteristic manner, characteristically, Don. ad Ter. Ad. 5, 8, 35; Ter. Phorm. 1, 1, 2.—Esp., morally, Ambros. Apol. David. 6.—Comp.: “moralius,” Ambros. in Psa. 118, Serm. 1, 5. Wiktionary, of note, gives the following etymology of moral: From Middle English moral, from Old French moral, from Latin mōrālis (“relating to manners or morals”), first used by Cicero, to translate Ancient Greek ἠθικός (ēthikós, “moral”), from mos (“manner, custom”). Posts - Letter M: Based on Owl (Taylor, A72/1883) or Scythe (Thims, A67/2022)?

2023.06.01 01:27 dev_jp Manage your Basketball League with League Legacy (looking for feedback!)
Hey all, over the past year I've been working on a project for Fantasy Football Leagues called League Legacy - and just recently released support for Fantasy Basketball (and Hockey), too. I'd love to get some of ya'll to try it out and some feedback and suggestions on it and hopefully some of you find it interesting and useful.
You can find out more details at the website,
https://leaguelegacy.io, but in short - League Legacy allows you to automatically import your current and historical Fantasy Basketball seasons (from Yahoo, ESPN and Sleeper) - and then provides a ton of features for managing your League and league history - all time standings/rankings, league finances, member history pages, season stats, member vs member stats, record book, and a lot more.
There are additional tools as well for 'in-season' leagues, once that picks up again for Basketball (automatic weekly updates, in-season power rankings, playoff odds, etc). I also have a long roadmap of additional features that will be debuting over the next several months: Commissioner Tools, Automated Weekly Newsletters, Mobile App, etc.
It's been a fun project to continue iterating on and I'm excited about adding Basketball to support now too. So I would love to get some feedback and suggestions, and more importantly bug reports. There
will be some rough edges to work through, particularly around importing your leagues if you have any atypical league settings. But I will work on solving for them as soon as they're reported. And the more leagues we can get onboarded the more solidified we can make the whole platform.
Feel free to reach out and message me with any issues or feedback!
Thanks!

2023.06.01 01:25 Desperate-Carpet-533 Not treating BP of 205/ 105 on the floor?! Hospitalist mad I questioned that?!?!
Hi all, I'm an RN on a med/Surg floor. I am coming up on a year of experience.
I had a PT in for recurrent UTI and associated stone that would have to get lithotripsy once the PT got over the infection. This was an elderly lady who also has Addison's. So , they baseline have elevated BP 150s/90s nothing crazy but during my night shift they jump up to 205/105 then 200/120 then 210/99. So after the first one I page the hospitalist who is an NP covering nights.
They advise me to check for any Neuro changes/symptoms and make sure it isn't in pain, then recheck BP in an hour. PT is stable and no pain, not retaining urine. Nothing else medical history wise is blaringly causing this. On recheck PT is still in the 210/100 range and I update hospitalist, and add that we don't have any BP meds available should we need them. Next vitals a few hours later PT is still getting the same BP. I notify the provider, as I have to from the orders and say I'm concerned we don't even have an order for a med that could bring this down if she becomes symptomatic etc.
Hospitalist calls me back immediately angry that I'm questioning them and telling me I don't understand the pathophysiology of Addison's and to look it up. They make that mental leap just from the short page where I said I was concerned about the hypertensive crisis and med situation.
She says " we would never treat high blood pressure in someone getting replacement steroids for Addison's, it would be more dangerous, so I'll defer to the day shift doctors managing that."
I understand that yes we don't want to drop the PT too fast and that yes PT could have an adrenal crisis if they don't have enough steroids on board. BUT, there most definitely is a point where the risk of stroke/MI/ or other organ damage outweighs the cons. Also, plenty of folks have Addison's and get blood pressure treatment, albeit usually the doc will try to lower to steroid dose first to see if that's driving it up.
In my mind, it was ridiculous to make a sweeping statement like that, and I truly just don't understand why bringing this PT down with a med which acts on a completely separate mechanism would cause her more bodily harm than a BP that high for that long.
Please let me know if you have seen this situation and how you would have dealt with the nurse practitioner. I haven't gotten this kind of attitude from a hospitalist before, when I was just advocating. Thoughts?
TL/DR: PT super had super high BP all night, hospitalist got mad when I asked why we aren't treating the BP. Says I don't understand Addison's disease pathophysiology.

2023.06.01 01:18 Brittney_427 Family crusade campaign?!?
I’m starting a crusade campaign with my family. I play Death Guard, my husband Tyranids, one son plays Ultra Marines, another plays Necrons. I have all the campaign and crusade mission packs from 9th edition (I like the lore). We all have our Codex. So far we really haven’t played much, we have a lot of models that need built and painted still, so we throw games together limited by what is built. We are going to start with a force of 500 points each, and build/paint units as we add them. I plan on using rules available in core book and codex, points from Ark of Omen. Are these armies decently matched? Any super OP combos that should be avoided? Any recommendations on balanced-ish teams or tips for starting?
For my team I was thinking: -Lord of contagion -Plague Marines (5 or 7) -Myphetic Blight Hauler -Death Shroud or character(s). I love the idea of 7 plague marines due to lore. But 7 means no death shroud, instead maybe a plague caster or starting my Foetid Virion. I really appreciate any thoughts/advice provided.

2023.06.01 01:10 SeasonImaginary24 Twisted Series Ana Huang
I’m having a hard time getting into the Twisted Series. Granted, I made the decision to start with book 2 because I like enemies to lovers tropes and Rhys sounded cool. I’m coming off of reading a handful of dark romances/coming of age romances and I feel like it might be a little too bubble gum sweet romance for me right now (nothing wrong with that, just might not be what I’m looking for right now). I’m about 80 pages in and kind of bored. Did you enjoy this series?

2023.06.01 00:59 mystudentwellbeing Let's Go For A Walk! Monday, June 5 at 10:30AM - Meet at the quad
Hey
UManitoba!
With the beautiful weather out and receiving feedback from students wanting to just go for walks, I'm going to plan a walk to King's Park on Monday, June 5th
leaving at 10:30AM. My intent is to gather people at the quad,
leave for the walk at 10:30AM, walk to King's Park, and then have people back to the quad by 12:00PM. The timing should allow those with class until 10:15AM to join us and so that those with class at 12:30PM will make it to class on time or so people have time to eat lunch. I'll do my best to welcome everyone who shows up and introduce you to another student or group so if you're showing up on your own, I'll try to get you people to socialize with (unless you want to join for the walk but aren't in the mood to socialize, which is all good!). I'll be at the quad at 10:15 to start gathering people.
It's looking like it'll be a toasty one on Monday, so make sure to bring water. I'll have a blue hat on so people know where to meet around (and possibly a sign saying My Student Wellbeing). If weather changes and it's raining it'll be called off (I'll update this post if it's called off)
First 3 people to show up will get a Positive Affirmations themed word search book (oooooh, exciting I know)!
All are welcome! Registration isn't required,
but here's a RSVP form which can be helpful for me to know how many people to expect. Through the form you can also leave your contact information if you'd like me to send you a reminder Sunday evening and there's also a spot where you can leave any comments about types of activities you'd like to see us host throughout the summer.
Edit: If you can't make it at this time, fill out the form and there's a part you can let me know what days/times would work better for you so I can plan walks at other times if it works better for students!
If you have any questions about this, leave a comment here or send me a message.
Looking forward to seeing some of y'all Monday!

2023.06.01 00:53 Timely_Huckleberry97 (Part 29 of a series) The Retail Punishment in Clovis
(Part 29 of a series) The Retail Punishment in Clovis Considering the upcoming Jun 5 hearing, this is an important installment outlining a path forward for vigorous recovery.
Four sections:
- Who benefits?
- Who do we go after?
- The scene of a crime
- Mechanism for shareholder recovery
(1) Who benefits? Who are all possible beneficiaries of the poor sale outcomes that are being attempted to be finalized?
(a) Large BP Two other PARP inhibitors (Lynparza and Zejula) are doing annual revs of $1.5 bn, and these are not even peak sales. How convenient would it be to eliminate a competitor right on the verge of first-line approvals that would cut into their existing sales?
I find it galling that Astra Zeneca is part of the UCC when it is in its interest to eliminate Rubraca as a competitor.
The true promise of Ruca would be when it is sold ‘up’ to a stronger BP who can go to market with strength and also pursue trials for other indications. On the contrary, Ruca is being proposed to be sold ‘down’ to an insignificant player, in effect ‘burying’ the drug for good.
There are clear antitrust matters at play here that need to be dealt with.
(b) Creditors with short positions All creditors are bundled up in one committee which does not represent their actual economic interest.
Some creditors may have short positions that far exceed the value of their debt extended to Clovis. They would then be happy with *some* recovery but most definitely an elimination of equity. That would maximize their return.
On the other hand, some creditors are creditors in the true sense, only interested in their recovery.
My reading of the situation is that the major creditors do have massive short positions, and the ‘true’ creditors only have modest amounts at stake which is not worth fighting for.
An SEC initiated share count would help clear up matters. While it is perfectly fine to have short positions, it cannot be used to damage the interest of a separate class.
(c) Pat and other Clovis officers They have structured things in a manner that they could still have assets even after eliminating equity. First is Luci which they would still have control over since it is outside of the filing. Second is the back-door to Ruca that may be invoked at the opportune time. Third, they have a complicated offer for NOL that they may still pursue.
(2) Who do we go after? The answer is simple: We go after all those that have a fiduciary duty in this case. While BP and Creditors may have pulled levers, it is harder to prosecute, so we go after company officers that are immediately responsible.
As we turn the screws on the company officers, they will either choose to shift blame on the others (very unlikely) or somehow defend their indefensible behavior.
The concept of bankruptcy fraud (either hiding assets or undervaluing assets) can only have meaning if there is a basic standard to compare fraudulent behavior AGAINST. If no such standard or threshold existed, then how would the possibility of fraud even exist?? Anything that company officers would do would be protected and beyond question. That is not so. The three fiduciary standards are the lens through which potential fraud can be posited, explored, and prosecuted.
(3) The scene of a crime There are numerous items that indicate outcomes that are contrary to the fiduciary responsibility of the officers. I will divide them into two parts, the first ones strongly indicative of fraud, the other being supportive in indicating fraud.
(a) Strongly Indicative (1) Liquidation plan eliminating equity even when a particular asset is outside of Ch. 11. The company paid $200 mn. for Luci and in their own filings have mentioned that further trials were promising but not pursued due to funding issues. That initial purchase price along with the cost of further trials came from shareholders. How can the remaining Clovis entities (or the Liquidation trust) have the assets if equity is wiped out?
This clearly indicates a BK filing that at its origination was already against the equity class to whom officers have a fiduciary responsibility.
(2) An FDA approved, revenue-producing drug is being proposed to be sold for NEGATIVE dollars! Will the court take cognizance that an asset sale which is claimed to be exhaustive and competitive leads to a negative value outcome? Are we being told that the sale order included inventory to begin with, and all these bidders were submitting bids that were LOWER than inventory book value?
Ch. 11 liquidation allows officers to formulate terms. However, when the outcome is so contrary to the recovery of creditors and equity, each and every CRITERIA and DECISION leading to that outcome is under question, and investigated for fraud perpetrated by officers.
(3) The liquidation plan was filed well before the auction results of the assets The whole point of an auction is price discovery, how much will market entities compete to pay for assets? This is particularly important in the context of Athena success and the likely approvals for first-line. Clovis currently has no drugs in first-line, so how can they claim to have any idea of what that breadth of indication will be valued for?? Let the bidders who are much larger BPs come up with that determination.
But no, instead of waiting to see the auction results to file a liquidation plan, that plan was one of the earliest artifacts of the Ch. 11 process. This indicates that shareholder elimination was an objective of the filing to begin with.
(4) The magical appearance of the $500 mn in debt This is in line with the point above. Public companies do not magically discover debt. Such a large debt could not have been post-petition. If pre-petition, it could not have been incurred in a quarter or two. This company is filing with the SEC every quarter.
The timing and amount of this debt is indicative of further reducing the likelihood of equity recovery by moving the goalposts. After first bringing up that debt and then going silent on it is indicative of their guilt in this regard.
[VERY IMPORTANT: I need to check some details relating to that magical debt in documents provided either by Clovis or E&Y. Those that can point me to those materials please do so in the comments. If you have it in soft copy, please email me at jacaranda dot bloomed and then ‘at’ with domain being gmail dot com.
This is truly important! Please PITCH IN with your help here.]
(b) Supportive (1) Clovis have indicated in their filings that two of the criteria employed in choosing bidders was guidance from Pfizer and an aim to minimize transaction costs. Both are in opposition to maximizing recovery. Pfizer has a PARP product Talzenna so there is a conflict of interest. We need to see the full list of bidders that were either included or excluded due to Pfizer along with the reasoning why.
Transaction costs are completely irrelevant if the higher bids completely cover those transaction costs. It’s like saying ‘I won’t include Big Pharma because of transaction costs’. What the company officers are omitting is that those very BP can put in bids which far overshadow the (higher) transaction costs.
We need to see the full list of bidders that were either included or excluded due to transaction costs along with the reasoning why.
(2) The Rubraca sale outcome is completely contrary to the EU distribution rights being explored previously. Those EU distribution rights were in the region of $250 mn with Orion. How much larger is that sum compared to the full upfront value of $70 mn that is being proposed with Pharma&.
The outcome of auctions need to align with previous valuations and offers. If a particular outcome (NEGATIVE value for Rubraca) is such a strong outlier, it indicates a deficiency or fraud in the process to arrive at it.
(3) Not disclosing documents and last minute filing dumps UST had clearly filed that it reserves the right to object to the sale order when it gets filed. It was held back by Clovis. Separately, Exhibit F was listed but not disclosed until much later.
The whole basis of court procedures is to make documents available that allow them to be objected to. By not doing so, and pushing opposing counsel to short deadlines, is not acting in good faith, and indicative of an intent to manipulate proceedings.
(4) No recovery of NOLs Equity contribution has been in the range of billions leading to the sizable NOLs. Creditors, in contrast, have only a $900 stake. The tax benefits on the NOL are in the $200 mn plus range which is far greater than the upfront payments obtained for both FAP and Ruca combined.
Not pursuing the NOLs again indicates negligence in maximizing recovery.
There are other supporting points but I’ll stop here. Please share your own thoughts in the comments of OTHER REASONS that indicate fraudulent or fiduciary-opposed behaviors.
(4) Mechanism for recovery Here are my thoughts on the immediate steps that we need to do to work towards a proper recovery for all stakeholders:
(a) An immediate referral to the DOJ Antitrust division The debtors have gone on the record that Pfizer had input into the choice of bidders. Also, AstraZeneca is represented in the UCC.
The unfortunate outcome here is that a MARKETED Parp is being effectively buried in the hands of an insignificant overseas company that is much smaller in scale and expertise compared to Clovis itself.
This is being done to the drug that is displacing the SOC for Prostate Cancer after two decades. Unbelievable!!
(b) Full documentation on bidders that were included or excluded on the basis of each criteria that was exercised. Clovis and PWP needs to be compelled to produce all names that were excluded or included as per each criteria. Instead of well-funded BPs in the final round we have OVERSEAS bidders that made the cut, with whom it would be harder to claw back assets. One does not reach such outcomes by accident. This outcome has been engineered.
(c) Petition the judge to liquidate under Chapter 7 Ch. 11 allows officers to set the terms of liquidation. However, now that the outcomes are available we see that:
- Creditors have very low recoveries
- Equity has no recovery
- Rubraca is being proposed to be sold for negative dollars
It would be hard to argue that it would be difficult to obtain worse outcomes than what the officers have obtained for us.
A simple and direct way to get much better recoveries is for the judge to have it worked out as a Ch. 7 under court supervision.
The new terms will be
AS FOLLOWS: Clovis as a whole is up for liquidation. This includes FAP, Ruca, Luci, 3b programs, and NOLs. The minimum bid will be set at about $900 mn which is the total creditor liability. All companies that can reasonably meet this bar and put a nonrefundable security deposit will be allowed to the data room. All interested parties must put in a single maximum bid by the deadline. Highest bid wins.
There are three possible outcomes:
- No company bids the minimum bid: Fine, we go with the offers that Clovis has already obtained.
- Exactly one company bids exactly the minimum bid: All creditors can go happy, they are fully made whole. All equity is wiped out.
- One or more bidders bid more than minimum: Creditors get paid in full, and equity gets everything left over, however little or large. That is what the equity upside is all about.
Who can object to the above maximizing of assets? Step up and say why!
Obviously more detail is needed to flesh out the above, but it is completely aligned with recovery for ALL stakeholders, and preventing any antitrust concerns. Since it will be under the auspices of the court, it will be reassuring to all parties.
The above kind of liquidation protects all parties since Clovis officers have indicated their mal-intent and fiduciary opposition to equity in a
VARIETY OF WAYS.
Ch. 7 liquidation will be much more applicable in this case considering the abysmal Ch. 11 outcomes that the debtors have obtained.
And yes, the US DOJ and SEC need to be fully committed to seeing this through. We are setting a criminal precedent for the future if company officers can bury FDA approved, revenue producing drugs in the manner that Clovis officers are proposing here.

2023.06.01 00:49 bakariwolf Saga of the Professional DM! Part 2
This is a continuation of my other story. Now I was disappointed that my phone call seemed to get no respect but after a week of thinking about it I decided I might be in the wrong. Each DM has their own way of handling things and their own rules, so who was I to tell another DM how to run their game. Maybe the best was yet to come, maybe I should try to embrace it more, maybe it wasn't so bad? I mean I was hanging out with friends and we were playing, making progress, and the story had to go somewhere right?
That entire session was near torture. The DM had not only ignored the advice I had given but had doubled down on the roleplay demands. Wanting us to describe our clothing, what were the colors, how did they go together, how did we put on our armor, what were we having for breakfast, who was cooking it, describe how we are walking, when we rest the horses, were we brushing our teeth! Most everyone was zoned out only answering short answers at this point and each answer was getting shorter and shorter. How no one had walked away from the table was beyond me.
Of course her boyfriend was super into it and trying to get everyone to play along between the copious amounts of encouraging her and PDA. Hour goes by like this and we break for camp. Nothing interesting has happened and nothing interesting has been described by her. We get our random roll and once again after we pick our number she says "Wow you're the luckiest group I've ever seen, no random encounter. Isn't that amazing?" She was all smiles and giggles like it was the best thing in the world while everyone else at the table was literally groaning.
Another hour of overly intensive roleplay where the veterans and myself had just given up. We wouldn't answer any of the roleplay stuff. What are you talking about? Stuff. Are you taking care of the horses? Yes. Well roleplay. We travel till we set up camp is there anything important? I can see Wizard is visibly angry, the new players besides Bard are now looking at memes on their phones, and cleric and I are just bored. Another camp sight set and another "lucky roll." With no encounter, and another round of groaning.
This continues and it is near the end of the session. We have done NOTHING. Now I will never say I am a great DM, I am passable. I can create a story that people have fun with but I am by no means perfect. That being said one thing I find myself doing even as a player is looking around the table and seeing how engaged people are with the story. From what I can see this group is going to fail and fail hard. Everyone is at their wits end and if something interesting doesn't happen we won't have a game. So when the time comes for her to roll the random encounter dice and pick a number I say. "We choose to fail it."
The DM looks at me and asks "What?" "We choose to fail it, right guy's? Bring on the encounter. No roll needed hit us with your worst." Cleric started to laugh knowing exactly what I was doing but nodded along. Wizard smiled and said "Sure we choose to fail." The other new players look from the DM to me, and back again. "Wait that's an option?" One asks and they both agree "Ok we fail what do we run into?" I'm happy because everyone is on the same page, there is no second guessing here, we all chose to fail the roll and have an encounter and if the DM was angry we all said bring on your worst. Cleric even brought up a saying from our old groups of "Bring it scruffy." meaning we'll take as hard a fight as you want to throw at us. No pulling punches.
DM "Excuse me, I am the DM here, I am running the game and I will remind you I am a professional who has done this for fifteen years. That is not how the rolls work, you don't get to choose if you fail or succeed now pick a number."
Wizard, Druid, Barbarian, and myself were all just done. we couldn't take it. Our heads in hands on on the table visibly upset by this but she was holding to her ruling. That's when Cleric spoke up. "I know you have DMed for fifteen years however a game like this where roleplay is intensive and heavy is something that a lot of people wouldn't sign up for. Breaking it up with puzzles and combat is good. So you have all your players volunteering to fail the roll. This is a cooperative game and we aren't trying to step on your toes, but we do wish for some action. Also keep in mind I have been playing since AD&D."
I nearly laughed at the little flex there that she had been playing so long and this younger girl couldn't compete with that. Cleric always had a way about her to command instant respect even from the most stubborn people. So the DM flipped through their book and said as we were setting up camp a large snake slithered into camp. Not the most exciting of encounters but it was something! Everyone rolled for initiative and Druid got to go first. They asked if they could roll their animal handling to tame the snake. Which wasn't a popular idea for the rest of the party who had murder in their eyes. The DM said sure and after a good roll the snake left. The session ended and we asked about XP.
DM "No XP." Me "What? But we've been doing a LOT of roleplay and we had an encounter. We've done everything you wanted." DM "I have been DMing for fifteen years and how I always run it is XP is only given for defeating monsters." Cleric "We defeated the snake." DM "No you tamed it you didn't kill it. It's alive so you didn't defeat it. See you next week."
I was seething! I was so angry I wanted to scream, I talked to everyone after the game and asked their feelings, we were all in agreement that we'd give it one more shot and if things didn't improve we would walk out. Usually I am a calm person but I went home called her up and gave her a piece of my mind. Explaining that it is stated in the rules how to give xp for roleplay, that defeating an encounter peacefully is still defeating it, and I went on to explain to her that if she kept up this boring, demanding, and tedious way of DMing that everyone was going to walk out.
The next week came about and we all made it very clear we were done with the ridiculous step by step of our day. We'd roleplay ONLY when there were NPC's to interact with, if there wasn't anything going on we wanted a time skip. So either dump the human drama that we want to get away form or leave. This must have woken her up a little because we did get a time skip. We went forward in time to where we were a couple of days away from delivering the package to the king. Along the road we saw a group of eight orcs coming our way. We asked if orcs were common or peaceful in this area and she said common yes peaceful no we could tell they were bandits. Initiative was rolled and we were all revved up for a fight!
Druid went first and sent his wolf companion ahead because it could reach the orcs before any of us. I was worried because that meant the orcs got a full two turn to pound on it before we could get there. However when it came the orcs turn The DM declared "The orcs walk forward." I smiled because it was a good call. Not realistic but this was a new player and killing their animal companion would have been bad. We all moved forward and the wolf got in one attack. Next turn the wolf attacks, we all move forward and the orcs move forward. There is 30 feet between us now so the fighter types rush up while the ranged types stay back. The orcs have Druid, his wolf, Barbarian, and Cleric all on their front lines. While Wizard, Bard and myself stay back. It's the orcs turn and I wait to see how they will battle the group. What tactics and such.
DM "The orcs walk forward." What? I am a bit lost as she moves the mini's forward on the map going around those that are currently combating them to get to the spell casters. We aren't even a big threat so why did they all move? Why did they give up free attacks to move and do nothing? They didn't even attack us when they could have just moved and waited. I was so confused and trying to think of any game reason this could be happening. Perhaps she had it out for me? If so why wasn't I attacked? My ac wasn't that high? Was there something else going on?
The new players were super into it though and on their turn moved behind to hammer at the orcs. It got to the orcs turn and the DM skipped over them going to my turn. Cleric, Wizard, and I all noticed this while the new players were obliviously cheering how well they were doing. The DM looked to me and asked what I was doing. "I'd like to roll insight and arcana." I rolled and got an 18, and a 16. "Do I notice anything off about the orcs? Eyes glazed over, slack jawed, seeming in a daze, moving oddly? Do I know of any spell that would cause this?"
DM shrugged "No, what are you doing?" I was still confused thinking this had to be magic of some kind. "Umm, I try to touch one. Can I make a save to see if it's an illusion?" DM "The orc is real." Me "I'll hold my action then. Also I think you skipped the orcs turn." DM "Oh right. The orcs move forward." And she moves the minis PAST me and everyone in the back line. The new players are whooping it up. "Yeah run away! We got you now." While the rest of us just stared. What was going on? Wizard took his turn and cast detect magic and askes if he senses anything off about the orcs. No magic to be sensed. So from here Wizard, Cleric, and I just hold our actions while the turns go by with the DM "forgetting" the orcs turns and the new players killing them. We got a bit of loot. Some rusty weapons, a small amount of silver and gold, and a tiny bit of XP. We fast forwarded to delivering the treasure to the king with a lot of roleplay because "There are NPC's here." so we had to roleplay every conversation with every guard, captain, knight, lesser noble, high nobility, royal, and what not at the party.
When the DM had left we all talked again and I asked "Ok what was that?" The new players asked what I meant and I pointed out "Think about the fight." Druid "yeah that was great my wolf did so much damage!" Barbarian "Did you see me? It was like they couldn't hit me!" Wizard "They couldn't." Barbarian "What?" Me "They couldn't hit you because they never attacked." Druid "Wait, didn't they?" Cleric "No they only walked forward. Didn't you notice we all stopped attacking them? She never rolled a single die and stopped calling out their turns all together." Barbarian and Druid looked back and forth from each other and then nodded like it just dawned on them. I asked what we should do and they pointed out the one noble had asked us to investigate some thefts at the town so there was hope for a better story. So we all agreed to continue, somehow keeping hope that this would get better.... See you in part three.

2023.06.01 00:39 Chance_wolfhog Some Mage 20A/4E rules clarification.
If you can point me to the correct page in the book, please list the page number, but some rules I'm not fully sure of.
So I get mage is a lot about being subtle, and I have a player who is managing that wonderfully. But I have another who just wants to throw lightning and yes, she's being 'doxed appropriately.
The questions I have do with distance of spell effects primarily using forces and matter spheres, but if it's different for others feel free to say so. Also I am very aware a lot of the rules are up to ST interpretation.
- To throw a fireball or lightning bolt at range, do you need Correspondence? Or is that really just for things like teleportation.
- How do you determine the range at which those spells can go? Is it based on the 'Correspondence Sphere Ranges' on page 504, based on something like hits = so many meters, or just, whatever feels good?
- How about spell radius/diameter. Is there a way to determine that or just, 'does it make sense for the forces/arete/number of hits'?
I do see that Magickal Feats on page 502 does mention hits for different kinds of fire, which is why I listed that. Again, just wondering if there are rules or if I just make it up on the fly.
Thank you all for your help.

2023.06.01 00:35 Dismal-Jellyfish A big short in Treasurys? Traders are building up bets around a debt ceiling resolution
| Source: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/a-big-short-in-treasurys-traders-are-building-up-bets-around-a-debt-ceiling-resolution-5aedee28 Speculators have been building up a “historically massive” short position in U.S. Treasury futures ahead of what could be $1 trillion of new debt issuance on the heels of a debt-ceiling resolution, according to Macquarie’s sales and trading global macro strategy desk. Bond speculators have been taking up a large number of short positions in 2-year, 5-year and 10-year Treasury futures TY00, -0.05% (see chart), according to the Macquarie team, which pinpointed the combined tally of contracts at nearly 3 million as of late May, or the most since 2000. https://preview.redd.it/7q1m4idoba3b1.png?width=905&format=png&auto=webp&s=e72aec2dec4818df0d80f0c32263aba593f4d93e The buildup matters because much of Wall Street has been focused on the brief spike in yields on some Treasury bills due in early June to above 7%, or climbing U.S. sovereign CDS spreads as the U.S. teetered toward the brink of a default. But Macquarie’s team thinks the more important development tied to the debt-ceiling fight has been the significant number of wagers in Treasury futures in the past three weeks. A look at Commodity Futures Trading Commission data shows an explosion of speculation taking hold in Treasury futures, which Macquarie’s team led by Thierry Wizman pegged as the biggest buildup in short interest in 10-year Treasury futures since 2000. So has been the combined short interest in 2-year, 5-year and 10-year futures. Short bets are a wager that prices for a stock or bond will fall. Since bond prices and yields move in the opposite direction, fixed-income speculators would be focused on the potential for yields to climb when new Treasury supply outstrips demand. The Macquarie team said the heavy positioning likely reflect traders “attempting to hedge away or sidestep the inevitable issuance of new bonds,” in a Wednesday trading desk note. Positioning for a flood Like others on Wall Street, Macquarie’s team expects heavy U.S. Treasury issuance of $500 billion to $1 trillion over the next few weeks or months, once the debt-limit deal is written into law. “Markets are trying to get ahead of that as much a s possible,” said George Catrambone, head of fixed income and head of trading at DWS Group, in a phone interview Wednesday, adding that some investors are factoring in higher Treasury yields. “But I don’t think anyone is quite sure where the demand is going to be,” he said. Catrambone also said it’s hard to pin any single rationale to open futures contracts. He pointed to other “crosscurrents” at play in markets, including that Congress still has yet to do its part to increase the debt-ceiling. Investors also aren’t clear on the path lower for inflation to the Federal Reserve’s 2% annual target, he said, or about the mixed signals from Federal Reserve officials on if there will be another rate hike in June, or a pause. What’s more, the Treasury might consider getting creative to keep markets on an even keel, including by issuing 5-month bills or other maturities that suit investor needs, Catrambone said. How it could backfire Wizman’s team at Macquarie thinks there’s potential for short positions in Treasury futures to backfire if a flood of issuance from a debt-ceiling increase doesn’t cause Treasury yields to rise. They pointed out that the 10-year Treasury yield TMUBMUSD10Y, 3.647% climbed to about 3.8% in late May from about 3.4% over the past two weeks. Given the climb, “we’re not convinced that yields can rise further into the issuance of new bonds,” the team said. They also expect “pent-up demand” for Treasury debt to keep yields in check, given the lack of new supply since the $31.4 trillion debt-limit was breached in January. “So from a technician’s perspective, that’s a setup for a short squeeze that takes the 10-year and 5-year yields back to around 3.5%, with a little help from somedownbeat U.S. data over the next few weeks.” Treasury yields were mostly lower Wednesday, as were stocks, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.41% down 0.4%, the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.61% off 0.6% and the Nasdaq Composite Index down 0.6%, according to FactSet. The 10-year Treasury was at 3.636% at the end of May, booking its biggest monthly yield climb since February, according to Dow Jones Market Data. TLDRS: - A bunch of Wall Street gamblers have made a historically hefty bet against U.S. Treasury futures, with new debt issuance looming large - sounds familiar, huh?
- Poking the Bear: They've got nearly 3 million short positions on 2, 5, and 10-year futures, the biggest pile-on since Y2K. I guess they're expecting bond yields to climb when the new supply drops.
- Why You Should Care: Now, some are watching the spike in yields and the U.S. flirtation with default but Macquarie's team reckons the real game-changer is this swell of Treasury futures shorts.
- Riding the Wave: This could be traders trying to "hedge away" or dodge the flood of new bonds coming our way - between $500 billion to $1 trillion worth, once the debt-limit deal is law.
- The Plot Twist: But what if the yields don't climb as expected?
- We might be staring at a short squeeze in the Treasury market, driving 10-year and 5-year yields back to around 3.5%.

2023.06.01 00:32 Hot-Attorney-4542 Learning and doing
As a witch, is it harder for you to learn all the things at one time or better to focus solely on one subject? I've "practiced" for about 15 years, but the last 7ish years, life can't stop won't stop throwing sh!t at me, so I've become more of a collector of all things witchy. I feel like I never really "learned" any one thing. I've done spells and read cards here and there but I'm no professional. I want to read tarot professionally one day, but I'll settle with getting started. Like I can do a reading but I gotta bust out the guide book also. I want to be an astrologer also, but I'm a Pisces that hates water and can't swim. I used to use my pendulum a lot, but now I'm not real sure where it actually is. I wanna know all about dreams cuz I have some crazy ones!! Some books are so hard to read, they're someone else's BOS. I struggle to remember the "story" of tarot. But I also can't really put into words WHAT I want the books to do. I love being a student and learning the things, but these things are obviously a bit different to learn. I have better material things than when i started, but I started with some really wonderful things and created beautiful things. These days, I don't remember my gratitude journal every day. I lost all of those things I started with, so many were gifts from dear friends. About 7 years ago, I watched from my neighbor's back window as my ex-husband burned and destroyed belongings I'd had since I was little. He's no longer around(passed in 2021) so he can't hurt me any longer. I stopped practicing for about a year, moved across the country and bought new things. But although I adore and cherish my leather journal with cotton pages (all handmade, stitched and decorated in my fave color, also $$$$) is truly nothing compared to the dollar tree binder I had found and cut and pasted and colored and decorated and actual NOTES. Feels like it has been so long, I most likely pretty much have forgotten all those things. These days it is my greatest accomplishment to remember to LOOK UP the color associated with the day and dress accordingly.
Do you have any fave things you've acquired or made in your practice? What would be your best study advice? Is there one thing that worked really well for you? Did you decide what you wanted to focus on or did it just come to you? Have you ever lost your way? If so, how'd you get back? How do you start over? Any help is appreciated. Blessed Be. (I completely apologize for the rambling!!)

2023.06.01 00:26 eldersveld Just finished: Doctor Sleep, Fairy Tale, The Institute, and Mr. Mercedes
I'd been out of touch with SK's work since Desperation, so I decided to dive in and just marathon a bunch of his newer books. I knew almost nothing about them except that Doctor Sleep was a sequel to The Shining. The order in the post title is the order in which I read them, and, although I didn't intend this, I appeared to be reading them in increasing order of quality.
Doctor Sleep - Fun, but weak. Dan Torrance was the only character that felt truly fleshed out. Abra had some personality, but Rose was pretty much one-dimensional, and everyone else seemed inconsequential (even if they weren't, plot-wise). John Dalton and Abra's parents were cardboard cutouts, too thin even for supporting characters. Too many characters in general for this kind of story, which moved at breakneck speed. A page-turner for sure, but shallow. As a follow-up to The Shining it was disappointing, and, by itself, rather forgettable. I watched the film adaptation, which was competent (and holy shit that scene with Bradley Trevor), but it had some of the same problems as its source material. One other nag I had was that
the good guys don't lose any primary members. Fairy Tale - More heat in this one for sure, and I echo what other readers have said about it. Everything up until Empis was
marvelous. Mr. Bowditch was just wonderfully characterized, and Charlie was quite believable as a teen who has a checkered past but is gosh-darn good at heart. My biggest issue was basically the same as with Doctor Sleep:
once we hit Empis, SK wasn't as invested in that world as he was in everything before it, and after we slogged through Deep Maleen it was so much moving of chess pieces for the big showdown. Which,
fine, SK even said as much, it's a fantasy world with capital-F Fate and supernatural beings and all that... but IMO it simply wasn't given the same weight as Sentry's Rest, and most of us felt that.
The Institute - More solid than the other two, but still suffering from some of the same problems. Tim Jamieson was built up nicely, and then pushed aside from the main Institute plot, which was an expanded version of the Shop from Firestarter. Now, I
love the Shop and I was delighted to spend a lot of time with a similar organization. I expected indifferent/malicious staff, with varying degrees of craziness, and I wasn't disappointed, even if they were caricatures at times. Where it fell flat for me was the characterization of the kids. We didn't get inside the head of anyone besides Luke, and even he wasn't as memorable as, say, anyone from the Losers Club. I think building out at least a few of them would have made things much more powerful, but, as with the other two books, SK seemed mainly interested in moving the plot along. Returning to
Jamieson and DuPray was abrupt, but welcome, and I enjoyed how things ended with
a genuine philosophical difference between the good and bad guys (
link).
Mr. Mercedes - Okay,
now we're getting somewhere. Just a damned fun detective thriller, which, as far as I know, SK had never done before. It felt like he deeply cared about this one, and I was only somewhat shocked to learn that it was the first in a trilogy. My biggest gripe was that, as a
SK-written serial killer that's also a main character, Brady should have been at least as memorable as Annie Wilkes, and he wasn't. And I'm not sure how to analyze that. In Misery, we never saw things from Annie's point of view, but that was part of her power—we had only Paul Sheldon to help us guess at what the hell is going on inside her head, and we were scared shitless.
Here, we saw a lot of Brady's inner monologue, but he's as pathetic as he is scary, perhaps more so. In a way, I get it, it's a
detective novel and it's as much about the deductive process and the thrill of the chase as anything else, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was cheated a bit. All that said, I found the supporting characters in Mr. Mercedes to be stronger on average than in the other books and I've no hesitation about plunging into Finders Keepers.
