    • Rare earth industry veteran Mr. Geoff Atkins, as Vice President of Business Development
    • Former Innovation Metals Corp.'s RapidSX™ Platform Design Manager, Mr. Jaan Hurditch, CEng, as Engineering Director
    • Entrepreneur, scientist, and government relations expert Dr. Ahmad Hussein, as a member of the Advisory Board and Government Liaison
Halifax, Nova Scotia--(Newsfile Corp. - March 22, 2023) - Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSXV: UCU**) (OTCQX:** UURAF**) ("Ucore"** or the "Company") is pleased to announce the strengthening of its executive and management team as it transitions to its production model in 2023. The company is strategically focused on the deployment of its RapidSX™ technology platform for the separation of heavy and light rare earth elements ("REEs"), the development of its planned Strategic Metals Complex ("SMC") REE processing facility in the US State of Louisiana, and securing upstream and downstream partnerships to support these endeavors.
All of these efforts have been enhanced through the recent additions of the following Ucore team members:
Mr. Geoff Atkins, Ucore Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Atkins is a skilled mining executive with 30 years of experience, including over 15 years in the critical mineral sector, focusing on the development of rare earth projects and joins the Company as Vice President of Business Development. He remains one of the few mining executives outside of China who has played a critical role in establishing two different rare earth operations, Mt. Weld with Lynas Corporation (Lynas) and Nechalacho with Vital Metals Ltd. (Vital Metals). While at Lynas, he was responsible for a range of functions, including the construction of the Mt. Weld rare earth project, providing corporate construction oversight for the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant in Malaysia, and developing long-term strategic plans.
Mr. Atkins utilized his particular skills in project delivery, finance, and corporate strategy to then found Cheetah Resources, which was subsequently taken over by Vital Metals. By applying this unique mix of expertise and experience, he will similarly develop implementation strategies to secure contracts with rare earth feedstock projects around the globe to support Ucore's SMC Business Model. He will evaluate each project's specific attributes to ensure a diverse security of supply with minimized geo-political risks and development timelines. The Nechalacho rare earth project in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada, best demonstrated this approach. Mr. Atkins finalized the acquisition of this asset in 2019, resulting in the commencement of operations at Canada's first rare earth mine within 2 years. This represented a remarkable achievement compared to the typical industry standard of 10+ year mining development timelines. Nechalacho was the first new rare earth project brought into production in nearly 10 years. These achievements and industry experience uniquely qualify Mr. Atkins to lead the feedstock acquisition efforts for Ucore's North American SMC strategy.
Mr. Jaan Hurditch, CEng, Ucore Engineering Director
Mr. Hurditch joins the Company as Engineering Director and leads Ucore's engineering activities. He formerly worked with Ucore's subsidiary Innovation Metals Corp. ("IMC") for the past 2-1/2 years as the RapidSX™ Platform Development Manager. Mr. Huditch has been the driving force behind the development of the RapidSX™ hardware platform, which is now undergoing commissioning trials at the Kingston, Ontario, Demonstration Plant and will soon be commercially deployed during the construction of the Louisiana SMC over 2023 and 2024.
Mr. Hurditch received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Technology from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia and has 18 years of experience in mineral processing, material handling and resource recovery. He has managed the technical objectives for projects in North America, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Mexico. Mr. Hurditch brings both managerial and technical skills with experience developing new and innovative systems and products, having strong competencies in team building, 3D computer-aided design, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics and rapid prototyping technologies.
Dr. Ahmad Hussein, Ucore Advisory Board Member and Government Liaison
In concert with the addition of Mr. Atkins and Mr. Hurditch, Ucore has significantly strengthened its Advisory Board with the recent appointment of Dr. Ahmad Hussein as Ucore's designated Government Liaison. Dr. Hussein is cultivating strategic relationships with Canadian and US government agencies slated to award billions of funding dollars over the remainder of the decade toward essential North American critical minerals projects.
Dr. Hussein's previous international success in launching, scaling, and funding renewable energy projects has enabled him to develop business connectivity throughout all levels of government. In addition, he brings potential partners across the supply chain that will add value to Ucore's proprietary RapidSX™ technology platform opportunities and long-term strategic plans. Over the last year, significant advances in the Company's technology, market presence, and commercialization efforts have created the impetus to accelerate the Company's goals by expanding the capacity and focus of its Advisory Board, to which Dr. Hussein is a very welcome addition.
"One of the key pillars of our business model includes building the right team to execute a fundamentally sound economic business plan underpinned by the best available technology," stated Pat Ryan, P.Eng., Chairman and CEO of Ucore. "The recent additions to the Ucore team allow the company to strengthen and advance this fundamental corporate tenet as Ucore executes its transition to a technology company entering into a production environment throughout 2023 and 2024. *We sincerely welcome Geoff, Jaan, and Ahmad to our remarkable Ucore team.*"

About RapidSX™ Technology
Innovation Metals Corp. ("IMC") developed the RapidSX™ separation technology platform with early-stage assistance from the United States Department of Defense ("US DoD"), later resulting in the production of commercial-grade, separated rare-earth elements at the pilot scale. RapidSX™ combines the time-proven chemistry of conventional solvent extraction ("SX") with a new column-based platform, which significantly reduces time to completion and plant footprint, as well as potentially lowering capital and operating costs. SX is the international rare-earth element ("REE") industry's standard commercial separation technology and is currently used by 100% of all REE producers worldwide for bulk commercial separation of both heavy and light REEs. Utilizing similar chemistry to conventional SX, RapidSX™ is not a "new" technology but represents a significant improvement on the well-established, well-understood, proven conventional SX separation technology preferred by REE producers.

42 – A possible future

[Temporary timeline, possible future.]
The portal shimmered. On the other side was the access route to the CARF, operated by unmanned machines and subroutines that not even Samantha knew what they were really there for, or who put them there in the first place. Still, the family lingered on the known side of the portal for only the least amount of time necessary before taking the plunge, deciding not to waste any rewindable time when they were this close to their target. Albert was back on full mana and the others were as ready as they could ever be.
The room on the other side, an unknown variable up until the very moment the trio emerged from the opaque portal, was empty. Albert was quick to scan it with his enhanced senses, draining a negligible amount of mana from his reserves, and confirmed that there was nobody there. It was, as predicted, an access route most people didn’t know, its presence a well kept secret. There were no windows to the outside, just a single reinforced door that could only be opened from the inside using a secret code.
Samantha entered it, looking at the numbers and letters appearing on her phone in quick succession. The Quadrangle was once again making their job much easier than it would have been otherwise. Then, as the door hissed open, the absence of windows in the room suddenly made total sense. They were several hundred meters up in the air, inside a concrete cube built almost at the summit of a rocky plateau of deep red stone, tall enough that the whole valley below was clearly visible, together with the signs of yet another storm brewing at the horizon.
At the top of a few flights of stairs carved in the stone, surrounded by tiny bushes of shy green leaves cooked by the cold, a helipad was built in the side of the massive rock pillar.
“I guess it’s time to show your grandson your skills as a pilot, old man.” Samantha said.
“Finally. Time to be useful!”
They were up in the air in a matter of moments, with the old man showing no signs of being rusty in the way he handled the helicopter like it was one of his own limbs. Now it was all a matter of reaching the CARF and land on its roof, a journey that was already not very pleasant due to the conformation of the land and the path the helicopter was forced to take in order to leave the valley they were in, and was made even worse by the rapidly deteriorating meteorological conditions. The storm, previously only a dark path at the horizon, now took up almost all of the sky, with tendrils of dark clouds obscuring the sun and taking over what little blue was left with incredible speed.
Strong air currents tugged at the helicopter, making it sway and move around.
“We are heading straight into the storm, get ready because it’s gonna get very bumpy from now on.”
Right on cue, the real turbulence began. And it ramped up quickly, turning the flight into a very disorienting and frightening experience for Albert, who had never even taken a plane his whole life. He tried his best not to look down, but it didn’t help that the helicopter was of the open variety, like those used by the military just without the guns, and the wind and hail pelted him with icy cold blasts and soaked his clothes.
Beside him, his mother was impassible. It was like she wasn’t even aware of the weather and of the discomfort, instead looking around and scanning the sky in search of something, her fingers gripping the trigger of her rifle. It wasn’t long before the shield around Albert began to shimmer to protect him from the elements, but even then his mother simply kept looking, disregarding everything else.
He didn’t speak. There was enough wind and noise to drown out any conversation, but even if that hadn’t been the case he still felt that he didn’t have anything to say. He knew the plan and he knew what to do once they reached the CARF, and until then it was all a matter of waiting and keeping his eyes open, careful about whatever threat his mother was worried about.
In truth, he knew well what she was worried about. He had seen PsyOps take off flying after he wounded him at the Pylon outside of Tryte. He wondered, though, if the man would be able to fly even with this weather and this far high without trouble.
His question was soon answered.
“We got incoming!” Lloyd yelled on the internal comms, while alarm bells went off and added to the already deafening cacophony of sounds that invaded the open cabin.
The helicopter suddenly left its former straight flight pattern and the world around Albert lurched, gravity no longer working as intended for a moment, and he caught glimpse of a shadow in the clouds, like a little floating silhouette in the distance. Then the missile that had been locked onto the helicopter, responsible for the alarms and the sudden evasive maneuver shot past, chasing one of the flares his grandpa had deployed instead of hitting them.
Albert cranked both [Perception] and [Bullet Time] to the max right as his mother shifted to grab the heavy guns she had loaded on the heli before taking off. She scanned the sky, taking stock of the presence of the silhouette after a few seconds of searching, and immediately started to shoot. The explosions inside the rifle accelerated the bullets to incredible speeds, and even with a five-factor time dilation Albert was almost unable to follow their path as they shot towards the shadow in the distance.
But he saw it. He saw it ditch the rocket launcher and dodge so fast it was almost impossible to follow it. Before a shot could hit it, the shadow moved and danced around, getting closer and closer and avoiding the shots like it knew exactly where they were being aimed at before they were even fired.
Because that’s exactly what he’s doing, isn’t it? He can read minds.
Then the mental attacks started. Right when Albert was about to join the skirmish with his fireballs, that’s when he felt his mental defenses trigger. [Mental Fortress] was a passive skill, and it activated immediately in response to the attacks, drawing whatever mana it needed to fend off the alien power trying to take over his mind. He resisted the attack, but it was clear that the other two passengers had not. Samantha groaned, realizing too late that her grip on the weapon had loosened and that her rifle was now tumbling down and into the void below.
Albert didn’t help her. He shot to the control cabin of the helicopter just as they were about to lose their upright position and shook his grandfather awake before it was too late. The old man woke up with a jolt and grabbed the stick tight, trying to stabilize the helicopter before he lost control of their flight. As he did so, Albert ran back to the open section and tracked the movements of the attacker, readying fireball after fireball and making them split into two right as they were about to be dodged.
There was a plan to deal with PsyOps, which made use of his telepathic powers to trick him into a false sense of security. Samantha made her firing patters more predictable. Albert kept throwing with just enough accuracy to scare but not to hit the flying man. After a while the fireballs, and the hail of bullets from Sam’s many weapons (she had packed many more than she could ever use for the occasion) forced the psion into a predictable flight pattern.
Then Samantha made her next shot a bit too easy to read, displaying it clearly in the front of her mind.
The psion bought it, dodging right where albert was aiming his next shot.
Both fireballs managed to hit, and the shadow seemed to fall, but then it resumed flying and disappeared into the storm.
“Shit. He’s still flying! How far is the CARF?” Samantha yelled.
“5 minutes out! Can you hold on?” Lloyd replied.
“Of course. You keep flying!” She said, and turned to Albert, who had disabled the time dilation skill to listen in. “It’s okay. This is all within plans.”
She was heaving, clearly fatigued after having been mentally attacked by the psion. “But! Another attack and I’m out.” She said, spitting some blood from a ruptured capillary in the back of her nose. “Fuck that guy. Listen, you nicked him. Good job. Now, we just fly straight and if you see anything move – shoot it.”
There they saw it, the helipad at the top of the CARF. It was a bright green circle, drawn in a special metamaterial that could be visible in any weather, glowing in a field of utter black. All around the descending helicopter was only darkness, but it was not because it was night – it was barely afternoon after all – but it was the storm that had robbed the day of its light. The powerful spotlights both on the helicopter and on the roof of the CARF, around the landing pad, barely managed to penetrate a few meters of darkness before the rain and hail ate their glow and swallowed it.
The whole roof was a blurry shadow of blacker black, without edge.
“Stay close.” Sam ordered, and the helicopter’s engines died, and the lights stayed on. They hopped off together, but when they went to the cabin to see why Lloyd was not joining him, they found it empty.
“Something is wrong.”
Albert looked around. Then he felt something.
He turned to face his mother. She was gone. What he had felt was a rush of space mana, and it was too late now to activate his Hazegem – even in bullet time – because a powerful force had sent him flying and his grip on the gem loosened. It tumbled on the ground, a luminous dot of purple.
But Albert was still outside the teleportation wards of the CARF. He tried to use teleportation to disappear in a hurry and reappear right where the gem was to snatch it and rewind before it was too late.
A fatal mistake, because as he concentrated on the Teleportation Map, his mental defenses went momentarily down. That’s when PsyOps attacked.
As images of his own plan to take down the psion flashed his awareness, mental attacks digging through his brain and finding old memories, the world shifted. He was falling. In his mind the conversation he had with his mother and grandfather played again and again, while Albert thrashed on the ground, spasming and convulsing. Then, as semblance of reason returned to his mind, he realized that he had indeed teleported and was clutching the gem in his hand.
But he also felt pain flaring in his arm. There was a boot there, he could only see the boot, pushing him down against the wet concrete. It ground and pressed until his hand was forced to open from the pressure on his tendons, unable as he was to use any skill with his mind turned to mush like that.
It was now or never. He struggled to push mana into the gem, feeling it activate.
PsyOps bent down to examine the Hazegem. He hummed. “So this is how you planned to take me down, eh? Interesting.”
He poured his own psionic energy into it, right when the gem activated.
Instead of Albert traveling to the past, PsyOps did. He appeared right at the CARF, alone, in the past.
“What the fuck?”
But it didn’t take him long to understand, not with the memories he now had. Pocketing the now unusable gem until its cooldown was over, PsyOps took flight, determined to kill Albert before he even had a chance to enact his plan. He knew where he was now.
“Albert, if you ever need to rewind, rewind back to this moment. If you do that we’ll see you disappear before our eyes and then teleport in, right?”
“Yes, that’s how it looks from the—”
Silence. Suddenly Albert looked distressed, as if in a state of panic.
“Shit. The Hazegem is gone.”
Then there was the sound of a phone ringing.
“Were you expecting calls?” Lloyd asked.
Samantha took out her phone. “This is impossible.” She muttered.
The others looked at the screen. The Quadrangle itself was calling her.

2023.03.22 17:25 visionjm The story of Jue Ming Miao Xing Bodhisattva: how a Great Bodhisattva from Sukhavati came back to the Saha World to save sentient beings

During the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, there were eight Taoist practitioners who gathered together to cultivate and study the path of immortality. Once, they gathered at a ritual site and performed a ritual to invite a deity to descend and grant them the secret of immortality.
As expected, a "deity" responded to their invitation and descended. Using the method of divination, the eight people asked the "deity" many questions about the past, present, future, and fortune. The "deity" answered every question accurately, gradually gaining the trust of the eight people.
After many rounds of questioning, the "deity" suddenly advised the eight people to practice Buddha recitation. The eight people asked, "Is Buddha recitation a good practice?" The "deity" replied, "Yes, it is the best practice." They then asked, "How should we recite the Buddha's name?" The "deity" replied, "Recite 'Namo Amituofo.'"
Finally, the "deity" revealed its true identity to the eight people. It was not a "deity" at all, but rather the Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing (觉明妙行菩萨).
During the reign of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing was born into a very poor family. He made a great vow, saying, "Due to my past karma, I have suffered such painful retribution. If I cannot see Amitabha and be reborn in the Sukhavati, even if I have to sacrifice my life, I will never give up." After making this vow, he spent seven days and nights single-mindedly reciting the name of Amitabha Buddha. Finally, he saw Amitabha Buddha, received a prediction from the Buddha, and passed away peacefully at the age of 75, being reborn in Sukhavati.
After being reborn, Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing made a vow to return to the Saha World to save sentient beings. In the sixth year of the Tianjian reign of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty, an emanation of Jue Ming Miao Xing entered the monastic life at the Jingyin Monastery in the Eastern Capital of the Northern Wei Dynasty and became a great bhikshu. He lived at the foot of the Jiming Mountain to avoid the chaos of war. At that time, he had eight disciples who practiced with him, but they were separated due to the war. Two years later, the Bodhisattva passed away in the Wu Lin Tianzhu monastery.
Later on, there was another life where Bodhisattva Jue Ming appeared in the era of Emperor Xizong of Tang. He was the eldest son of Prince Xian of Qinghe and later became a monk. At that time, there were still eight disciples following him in practice, who were the same eight disciples who had lost touch with him in their past life.
After more than eight hundred years had passed, these eight disciples were still wandering in the sea of samsara without liberation. It wasn't until the end of the Ming dynasty and the beginning of the Qing dynasty that these eight disciples gathered together again and began practicing Taoism and seeking enlightenment. Yes, they were the same eight practitioners mentioned at the beginning of the story. Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing and these disciples had developed an extremely deep relationship in their past lives. He protected and cared for them, and vowed to help them achieve liberation.
In this life, the karmic seeds for their liberation finally ripened. Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing carefully taught these eight individuals the method of reciting the Buddha's name, and instructed them to recite the Buddha's name to be reborn in the Pure Land. The teachings of this Bodhisattva were compiled by his disciples into a book known as the "Definite Pointers to the Western Pure Land" (西方确指), which was later greatly praised, certified recommended by Grandmaster Yin Guang. This book includes many teachings on the practice of reciting the Buddha's name, such as the saying, "Speak less, recite more; Concentrate on recitation, attain the Dharma body."
In this book, Jue Ming Miao Xing Bodhisattva said, "Good man, in the past I attained a wondrous and profound enlightened mind, which led me to illuminate all the Buddha-lands and all beings equally. With this wondrous and perfect enlightened mind, I initiated immeasurable and marvelous actions, benefiting all sentient beings. Therefore, Amitabha Buddha has bestowed upon me the name 'Jue Ming Miao Xing', which means 'enlightenment of the wondrous actions'."
Continuing the story, the Bodhisattva Jue Ming Miao Xing instructed the eldest of the group to go find Master San Mei (Samadhi) and become a monk under his guidance. Master San Mai was a famous monk of the Vinaya School at that time. When the eldest disciple met San Mei, he asked him, "Who sent you to me?" The leader then told him about Jue Ming Miao Xing Bodhisattva's instructions. San Mei was skeptical and said to the eldest, "Whether this Bodhisattva is real or fake, we will know after a test. Go back and ask him to compose a verse on the topic of the moon."
The leader then went back and relayed the message to the Bodhisattva. Upon hearing this, the Bodhisattva immediately composed the following verse:
"The moonlight holds a thousand worlds,
Reflecting boundless forms and dispelling confusion.
Know that the true nature is without duality, with its reward body adorned and unchanged,
but only manifest changes in accordance to sentient beings' roots."
After seeing the verse, San Mei was convinced and said, "This is definitely a true Bodhisattva." He then immediately ordained the leader. Later, all eight of them were reborn in the Pure Land.
As it says in the Commentary on Vasubandhu's Treatise on the Pure Land by Master Tan Luan:
"Therefore, one aspires: 'May there be countless great assemblies of Bodhisattvas throughout our land, who remain immovable in their original state, yet extend themselves throughout the ten directions in various emanations, practicing according to reality and constantly performing the activities of a Buddha.' It is just as the sun, while located in the sky, reflects itself in hundreds of rivers. Is the sun here on the ground, or there in the sky?"
The story of Jue Ming Miao Xing Bodhisattva guiding and helping his disciples to be reborn in the Pure Land from life to life is the best example of this passage.

2023.03.22 15:00 KhoaFraelich 2023 Ineos Grenadier review

2023 Ineos Grenadier review
Not only does it live up to the original Land Rover Defender brief, the Grenadier goes above and beyond but it's not perfect.
The Ineos automotive brand might be new, but what has led to the creation of the Grenadier wagon and soon, the Grenadier ute is nothing short of extraordinary.

With the absence of the Land Rover Defender in its original, tough ladder chassis form, the gap in the market for a fully capable off-road vehicle that feels at home in the city and one which you can hose the mud out of, was left to no other than British billionaire and chemical engineer, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The original idea was to simply buy the tooling and the manufacturing products from Land Rover and continue producing the Defender one way or another, but the British brand evidently wasn’t very keen and what was then conceived at the Grenadier pub in London almost as a ‘we can do it better ourselves any way’, became the Ineos Grenadier.

Imagine this; start with a near-unlimited budget for a passion project and hire the likes of Magna Steyr to engineer your vehicle, BMW to produce the engines, ZF to make the transmission and Bosch to supply a great deal of the other parts… then you buy a pre-existing Mercedes-Benz production facility and further invest a claimed $770 million AUD in upgrades to produce the vehicle.

That probably needs some context because if you don’t know, Magna Steyr happens to be the same company that makes a similar car, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class – or G-Wagen.

Yep, that’s right, the same company that produces what is probably the most famous SUV in the world also happened to engineer the Ineos Grenadier. Conflict of interest? Don’t tell Mercedes.

It gets better though; because having talked to the engineers who have made the project come to life, most are from the likes of Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, and even McLaren.

Thankfully, the Grenadier starts at $97,000 (originally $85k) and not the $400,000 on-road the G-Wagen has become, and that is perhaps what the Grenadier is here to do. It’s to provide a fully capable alternative to the ultra-expensive off-roaders that have become as much a fashion icon as anything else.

The main question isn’t about the Grenadier’s intent or its individual parts, however.

We know Magna can engineer a car, we know BMW can make great engines that work amazingly well with ZF transmissions, and we know Bosch supplies automotive parts to the absolute majority of other manufacturers.

The real question, is whether the Grenadier is a genuine alternative for the original Defender and befitting of a new model in 2023? The answer to that question is actually a resounding yes, but with some caveats that we will discuss in this review.

How much does the 2023 Ineos Grenadier cost?
As previously mentioned, the Grenadier saw a substantial price increase last year which added as much as $13,000 to the price of the Wagon and Ute.

Although Ineos has put this down to the increasing cost of materials – which is definitely a contributing factor – we also have no doubt that the increase is also driven by market dynamics of supply and demand and perhaps a repositioning of the brand itself given just how popular the original price point was with buyers.

2023 Ineos Grenadier pricing:

Utility Wagon

Base: $97,000 (up 14.8 per cent or $12,500)
Fieldmaster Edition: $107,400 (up 12.5 per cent or $11,905)
Trailmaster Edition: $108,525 (up 13.6 per cent or $13,030)
Station Wagon

Base: $98,000 (up 14.6 per cent or $12,500)
Fieldmaster Edition: $109,525 (up 13.5 per cent or $13,030)
Trailmaster Edition: $109,525 (up 13.5 per cent or $13,030)
Prices exclude on-road costs

If you were lucky enough to get in at that price, you have got yourself a bargain, but for the rest the price increase does genuinely position the vehicle in a place now that makes you really have to consider whether you can trust a first time manufacturer to produce a vehicle that costs well in excess of $100k.

While the price increase is unfortunate, options in the hardcore 4×4 market are limited considering orders for the LandCruiser 70 remain closed on the back of rampant demand unmatched by supply.

There’s also no haggling given Ineos is using an ‘agency model’ with fixed pricing. The company will control inventory and pricing, and pay dealer partners a “straight-forward commission”, much in the style of Mercedes-Benz and Honda.

Australia is a huge market for the Grenadier in terms of orders, coming in the top five, which means local market feedback and input has been well and truly taken into account. You can find a list of Ineos Grenadier retail locations here.

What is the Ineos Grenadier like on the inside?
First impressions when you get inside the Grenadier cabin are that of a modern and actually not all that austere interior. It was not what we expected and it’s fair to say we were pleasantly surprised.

The Recaro seats are comfortable in all available configurations, whether it’s cloth, vinyl or leather. We found the seating position in the front to be excellent for visibility and ease of access to the switchgear and cabin.

With the majority of off-road controls cleverly placed on the roof – inspired by aircraft cockpits – there is heaps of room in the cabin itself and it never feels overwhelming or unusable.

This is a case of what happens when a new company that has never made cars is allowed to rethink the basics. Having used the 4WD controls on the roof, the question becomes – why don’t all cars have this?

So front seat ergonomics are fantastic, but not perfect. There are a couple of issues for right-hand drive models that seem a little bizarre.

Firstly, the windscreen wiper does a terrible job of cleaning the edge of the right side of the screen. A decently sized area near the A-pillar on the right of the windscreen is basically untouched and given the wet and muddy conditions in which we drove the Grenadier in, it becomes a genuine visibility issue when turning right.

You get used to it and its likely not an issue for the absolute majority of the time you are driving, but it is nonetheless a strange thing to encounter in a modern car.

Secondly, right-hand drive vehicles are disadvantaged with the exhaust manifold of the BMW engines (diesel or petrol) both taking up an unusual amount of space in the footwell where you would usually have your footrest.

This means your left foot is sitting a fair bit higher than one would probably be used to and if you happen to use the car on a farm, with big boots, this further exaggerates the problem.

Again, we got used to this unexpected feature after a few hours of driving but as with the wiper, it’s not something you would expect from a modern car.

When quizzed, Ineos engineers told us they initially planned to change the engineering of the vehicle to address it, but it would have changed the cabin or chassis size and this wasn’t feasible.

It’s also worth mentioning that in some of the vehicles we drove, the fit and finish of the interior were not as great as we would have wished for.

From the roof control panel feeling easy to pull off to the outside door handles that jammed (we are told these will be fixed for all Australian-delivered vehicles), there is no doubt that first batch production vehicles have some room for improvement; and hopefully those improvements are passed on to the first vehicles delivered for our market.

For all the niggling issues, the interior is genuinely excellent for its intended purpose – it’s comfortable, it’s spacious and has heaps of storage.

The back seat is also a great place to be for long drives as you can easily fit two six-foot adults behind one another, given the ample leg and headroom in both rows. In saying that, while the front Recaro seats are ideal for off-roading, those sitting in the back have literally no support outside of holding on to the handle.

The 12.3-inch touchscreen display is super clear and very high resolution with wireless Apple CarPlay that works brilliantly. Ineos has outsourced the unique software and it’s on par if not better than some well-established manufacturers. You will have no issues using the infotainment system.

Without a traditional instrument cluster, though, you are forced to use the centre screen to see your speed and we did find that a little frustrating because, unlike other vehicles in which that is also the case (Tesla being the prime example), the Grenadier’s interior is vastly larger so the focal change point from the road to the screen is also more than other vehicles.

Given the Grenadier’s ‘instrument cluster’ is a tiny screen to show things like ignition light, check engine light etc, we feel it would have made a lot of sense to put a basic digital speedometer in that position.

The front and rear diff locks, plus the off-road mode and wading depth controls, are on the roof but to actually engage low range and lock the centre differential you need to use an old-school lever and, to be fair, it does look a little odd sitting next to the BMW-sourced gearstick which is super modern in design and appearance. So this is definitely a case of lots of parts being put together.

Even the steering wheel itself is interesting because, given the recirculating-ball setup, the number of wheel turns you need to do in basic manoeuvring lends itself to using a wheel that is not so circular and allows for a better understanding of the top and bottom.

The 1255L boot is huge, and the way the rear doors open allows super quick access from the left side using the smaller door, because opening the larger one on the right is not only a heavier operation (it carries the spare tyre) but also requires far more room to swing open.

What’s under the bonnet?
Ineos will offer 3.0-litre straight-six diesel and petrol options, both of which have been sourced from BMW and are codenamed B57 (diesel) and B58 (petrol).

Ineos says these engines, used across BMW’s sports cars and SUVs since 2016, have been tested in the Grenadier across 1.8 million kilometres and diverse climates. It’s not a straight fit and play, with ECU tuning taking place to better unlock torque down as low in the rev range.

The 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel six makes 183kW of power (3250-4200rpm) and 550Nm of torque (1250-3000rpm) and is capable of moving the Grenadier from 0-100km/h in 9.9 seconds.

The 3.0-litre single-turbo petrol six makes 210kW of power (4750rpm) and 450Nm of torque (1750-4000rpm) and is capable of moving the Grenadier from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds.

Both engines come mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission (codenamed 8HP51 for the petrol, 8HP76 for the diesel), with what Ineos calls a new “heavy duty” torque converter.

The WLTP combined-cycle fuel economy for the diesel is a rated 10.3 to 11.8 litres per 100km, while the petrol uses between 13.2L/100km and 15.3L/100km.

Both engines have stop/start, and the diesel also has a 17L AdBlue tank. The standard fuel tank with both engine options carries 90 litres.

All Grenadiers come standard with permanent four-wheel drive (4WD), with low-range accessed through a 2.5:1 Tremec two-speed transfer case. Matching the class leaders, the Grenadier will also have a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity.

There are no other powertrains confirmed for the Grenadier for the moment, however, the brand is well advanced creating a hydrogen fuel-cell version and is also working on a new model which will be a full electric version on a smaller and all-new platform for 2026.

How does the Ineos Grenadier drive?
The Ineos Grenadier came to life to meet a very specific design and engineering brief.

The wagon and utility versions are essentially a modernised iteration of what would otherwise be considered commercial vehicles; in fact they are very much considered commercial vehicles when it comes to tax purposes.

With that in mind, it’s vital that buyers looking at the Grenadier understand this is not a cheap G-Wagen, nor is it a new-old Defender. It’s its own unique vehicle, with its own set of characteristics and traits – some of those are better and some are worse than said vehicles.

When it comes to driving, we will break this down into two parts; on-road and off-road.

From an on-road perspective, the Grenadier rode exceptionally well, even on poorly surfaced roads. There is no doubt that you can drive this vehicle in the city and it will do an excellent job of keeping you happy and comfortable.

The suspension setup and the way the vehicle behaves on sealed roads is a credit to the engineering team behind it.

The diesel engine is undoubtedly the powertrain that makes more sense to most buyers looking to tow or do long-distance rural driving, with better fuel economy and more torque.

Nonetheless, if you’re buying this and intend to do a fair bit of inner city driving and actually enjoy the driving experience, the petrol is a fantastic option – it’s faster, more responsive, sounds great and makes the Grenadier feel far more engaging and purposeful.

This tester would pick the petrol regardless of requirements just for its capacity to overtake other vehicles on the highway with significant ease.

The ZF eight-speed transmission is mated beautifully to both powertrain and frankly, given this exact setup has been used in BMW vehicles for a number of years, there is no contention around the powertrain and its ability to perform day in day out. It’s solid and reliable.

What may catch out some buyers is the recirculating-ball setup steering box, something more suited to trucks than most modern cars.

According to Ineos engineers, the reason this particular Bosch steering system was picked was due to its incredible off-road durability and capacity. In other words, it has been around and used in heavy-duty vehicles with over 1,000,000 kilometres without issue, and Ineos decided to go with that to suit the rugged character of the vehicle.

This is all well and good but for on-road driving, it’s a bit of a handful, literally. The amount of turning you need to do to make a basic manoeuvre can get a little frustrating but even just turning left or right at an intersection.

It will often see you turn, and then turn again and again until you realise you have likely done one too many rotations and turn back to correct. It’s entirely unlike a normal modern hydraulic or power steering system and more akin to driving a light truck.

You absolutely will get used to it, and by the second day it didn’t feel as cumbersome as our initial impressions, but while this may be fantastic for those that only do long-distance drives mixed in with rural roads and off-roading, it’s not ideal for those looking to drive these around inner-city environments.

The other option we wish it had was adaptive cruise control. Model-year 2024 Grenadiers will have autonomous emergency braking (AEB) but it will still not enable active cruise, which is unfortunate because this vehicle will likely do plenty of highway kilometres and it would be great to that driving stress further removed.

Overall though, the on-road driving aspect of the Ineos Grenadier is much better than we expected due to the ride comfort, power and torque delivery. The cabin is also very quiet with low levels of noise, harshness and vibrations.

Take the Ineos off-road and it goes into its true element. This is a vehicle that was designed to go off-road before it was designed to go on-road. Most car companies tend to put car reviewers on off-road courses that you can usually do in a basic medium SUV, but Ineos didn’t hold back.

An Off-Road driving mode disengages parking sensors, seatbelt reminders and start/stop, and from a regulatory standpoint we’d imagine this function is only accessible in low-range. The hill-descent control function can brake each wheel independently.

We crossed some of the most spectacular natural terrains, in the water, up and down Scottish mountains, and four-wheel drive tracks that would make hardcore enthusiasts proud. There is not much to say except that we never got stuck and the diff locks and the powertrain worked spectacularly.

It can occasionally be cumbersome to engage low-range using the manual lever (neutral to be engaged first), with some occasional crunching – which occurred even to our Ineos engineers – and as there are no sensors to detect differential locking positions (to save complexity and weight), wheel speed sensors are used which means engaging and disengaging the front and rear diffs are basically manual and require movement that highlights the differing wheel speed (like a turn).

All-terrain tyres are supplied by Bridgestone (Dueler AT 001) or BFGoodrich (AT T/A KO2) depending on spec, and Brembo disc brakes come standard. Electromechanical Eaton diff lockers front and rear are also available either as standard or an option depending on grade.

Ground clearance is 264mm, wading depth 800mm, approach angle 36.3 degrees, breakover 28.2 degrees, and departure angle 36.1 degrees. Powder-coated skid plates and a fuel-tank plate are standard.

The other great thing is that the amount of accessories expected for the Ineos (given the company has made the blueprint for the car publicly accessible to support the aftermarket) will be huge, so those looking to start with a base car and build what they need will have plenty of options.

The Ineos is an excellent compromise between on- and off-road driving as it can one pretty well and the other spectacularly. The only place in which owners may find the driving dynamics challenging is in built-up, city areas that require a lot of close manoeuvring but even then, it’s an intimidating car that will make its own way.

Is the Ineos Grenadier safe?
There is no official crash test data from any resting authority for the Grenadier and there is every chance there never will be, given the position of this vehicle as commercial rather than passenger.

Standard safety features include:

Front, side and curtain airbags
ESP with trailer-sway control
Tyre pressure monitor
Reversing camera and sensors
ISOFIX and top tethers (five-seat versions)
There’s no mention of driver-assist active safety features such as autonomous emergency braking or lane-keeping aids, meaning a five-star NCAP or ANCAP rating looks impossible.

How much does the Ineos Grenadier cost to run?
The Ineos Grenadier is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of roadside assist.

Servicing intervals are recommended at 12 months for normal usage or six-month servicing “for continuous use in tough environments”.

As well as servicing Grenadiers at its retail centres, Ineos has cut a global deal with Bosch Car Service centres to cater to more remote operators. “Flying Spanner” techs based in the Australian HQ are also said to be available, if the service network needs help.

For owners who want to carry out work on their Grenadier themselves, Ineos is taking a novel approach by providing online 3D interactive manuals with support from the technical team at HQ a call or a click away.

“The vehicle has been deliberately designed and engineered to be easy to work on inside and out,” the company claims. It bills its “open source” approach, without trying to “ring-fence” buyers into its own ecosystem, as a point-of-difference for enthusiasts.

It’s not yet clear what conditions will be placed on DIY owners, from a warranty perspective.

CarExpert’s Take
There is a lot to love about the Ineos Grenadier.

It started life as nothing but an idea at a pub between friends, and ended up bringing together an enormous amount of knowledge from some of the best engineers in the world and huge amounts of investment to create an ultra-modern, rugged vehicle that is just as suited to the farm and rural areas as it is for a drive from Sydney to Melbourne.

The Grenadier is an excellent adventure vehicle and those looking to get out of the city, camp and enjoy a more outdoor lifestyle will also benefit massively from the number of accessories available for the vehicle.

The only asterisks for us are the niggling initial production quality issues that we are very hopeful will be solved before local cars arrive, and a steering system which will take some buyers a bit of getting used to.

A Surprising place To Help You to learn about Indoor Golf Simulator in Mississauga
Since the first golf simulator appeared in the 1970s, indoor golf simulators have improved dramatically in both technology and accuracy. The Golf Simulator is a high-tech system that allows you to practice your golf indoors in a near-simulated golfing environment. Indeed, the popularity of golf simulators has exploded in recent months. At Sgreen Golf, our Indoor Golf Simulator Mississauga lets you play golf anytime, anywhere in controlled, converted facilities with no restrictions on time, location or weather.
Our golf simulator has become a favorite pastime of golfers. Any golfer, amateur or professional, can use the golf simulator to practice, record and analyze their performance across the entire bag, from club to club. Our in-house simulation services give you precise distances so you know how far you're hitting each club.
They can show you the shape of each shot to help identify a slice or hook that you can fix. You can even get more detailed metrics like ball speed, club speed, spin speed, racquet angle, and more. When you can explore these specific steps, you'll learn what you can improve and work on while practicing.

How a Golf Simulator Works?

Data collection and presentation in the best indoor golf simulator is the same as if you were playing golf on the course. It starts with taking a natural shot from the mat and aiming for the net or net. After the bullet leaves the impact area, tracking and simulation technology will begin to collect data about the shot.
The data is analyzed and then used to predict where the ball will go, how far it will hit and the impact of spin. All this data is understood at a glance, projecting the movement of your ball across the impact area onto the screen. It indicates where the ball will land and provides stroke information to help golfers develop their game.

What Do You Need For A Indoor Golf Simulator?

Our Service Indoor Golf Simulator Mississauga Cover is a layer of protection around your hit zone and impact screen. It blocks out unnecessary additions, such as ambient light, to help provide a bright image on your impact screen and to help accommodate important equipment, such as golf balls.
At Sgreen Golf, we offer two different types of covers to protect you while golfing: DIY and Pro. Both are thumb-customizable and come with the option of three impact screens: Standard, Priority, or Premium. Do you have more space to work or want a richer experience? The Pro version is the go-to because it can be up to 20 feet wide, 20 feet deep, and is used for commercial simulators, golf courses, and even high-end human caverns.

What are the Benefits of Best Indoor Golf Simulator?

ü Available for home use
At Sgreen Golf, we have some of the best indoor golf simulators available on our premises. Whether you want to improve your skills with our golf coaching or you've booked a practice session with friends and want to have fun with our facilities, indoor golf simulators are perfect for both! Alternatively, you can also create a course that challenges your skills. Not only does it help you improve your skills easily, but it's also the perfect way to prepare for real-life lessons.
ü Perfect for beginners
If you are new to the sport, we understand that it can be quite challenging to practice immediately on an actual field. Not only do you have to learn the rules of the game, but you also have to understand how to use all the equipment. Our indoor golf simulator Mississauga will let you gain experience without having to learn all that. While there's no better way to improve than to practice on a real course, using a golf simulator will help you learn much faster.

2023.03.22 13:27 f_print 84mm Sportsman: a review of my new favourite knife.

A caveat: all of my Swiss Army Knives are strictly for urban carry. Although I have enjoyed the great outdoors in the past, right now its not something I have time for.
When I bought my first Swiss Army Knife, I was dazzled by the tools and the options. I bought a 4-layer Tinker Deluxe, because I thought “there’s no way I can live without scissors and teeny tiny pliers,” and almost to prove people wrong that its “too large to hold or pocket carry”, because I’m a giant and have giant hands and pockets. I love the Tinker Deluxe, and when I carry it with my wallet, I barely notice it in my pocket. I find it comfortable to use, and think the wide variety of tools in neat.
My second knife was a 111mm Adventurer, simply to test the waters of the 111mm range. The large profile of the knife was a perfect fit for my hands, and I began to see why people like 2 layer knives – they’re simple. They do what you ask them to do, the tools are easy to find and draw, and they do sit slim in your pocket. I love my Adventurer… even if the blade size is probably better suited for wilderness applications than urban carry (I haven’t been in any situations where I’ve needed a huge blade in town).
My third knife was the Skipper. After my love for the Adventurer, I thought I’d go for the awesome combo of pliers and inline Phillips screw driver. As it turns out, I absolutely hate it. I have actual regret for purchasing it. Its cumbersome and uncomfortable to carry and hold, and the tools are fiddly to deploy.
Overall you can see my general attitude towards SAKs has been “bigger is better”.
Then, I bought the Sportsman, and it all changed.
I had looked at the 84mm knives before and just assumed they were tiny little ineffective tools. People saying “tinker small is the best knife ever” seemed so ridiculous, because the standard 2 layer tinker already seemed so small and flimsy…
However, I really wanted a knife with a nail file. My nails are super crappy and often peel or chip, and instead of biting them all the time, I’ve found filing them to be really effective at keeping them functional. In addition, I wanted a cheap knife to take travelling with me to Indonesia, on the off chance that customs stopped me and took my knife. I didn’t want to lose my more expensive Tinker Deluxe or Skipper..
This little bad boy was with me all day every day for 4 weeks while on vacation, and it’s my new favourite knife.
Why do I love this knife?
It’s small, but not as small as I thought. Compared to my 91mm, it’s still a reasonably large and solid knife that fits my hand well. In addition, because of its reduced weight its very comfortable to just hold with your fingers (Left Tinker; Right Sportsman) for doing delicate work like cutting strings or thin packaging. The blade is almost the same size as a 91mm too, and the difference is barely noticeable when you’re cutting things with it (unlike the difference from 91mm to 111mm, which is HUGE). In addition, its supremely fidgetable. There’s something satisfying about the size and shape of this knife that make it a pure pleasure to just twirl around and handle.

It’s the perfect size for your pocket. I spent a lot of time with empty pockets. While my Tinker Deluxe slots into my pocket alongside my wallet perfectly, if I’ve got empty pockets, the bulk and shape of the knife becomes very apparent. If I’m rolling around on the ground with my toddler, the Tinker Deluxe can be quite the painful obstruction to roll over. The Sportsman is super light, lays flat, and is barely noticeable. Instead of taking my SAK out, the Sportsman was ALWAYS on my, which mean I used it a lot.

It broke my Phillips-head dependency. So far I’ve been sure to buy knives with Philips screwdrivers on them. I don’t drink wine, and I do like to tinker with things, so it seemed natural. While I was away I purchased some pedestal fans for the place we were staying, and I was surprised at how easily the can-openescrewdriver handled the Philips head screws on the two fans. In addition, I used the corkscrew to unpick a string, AND, I (purchased separately) used the mini driver to tighten one of the screws on my glasses that had worked itself almost completely loose (its funny that I never have to do this, but thankfully when it did happen on holidays, I was prepared). I guess, if I didn’t have access to the mini-driver, I might still choose the backspring Phillips, because the shape of the can opener prevents you from accessing even slightly recessed screws… but, with the mini-driver, it really is a case of “two new tools” (corkscrew and mini), or “more of the same” (another screwdriver. Yippee).

It's got a nail file. (Photo) As I said, nail files are really useful if you have bad nails like me. It’s also quite an aggressive file, and would probably deal with quite a variety of materials with no trouble. In addition, I’ve always been bothered by the second smaller blade on Swiss Army Knives as it feels like a complete waste of space for me. Maybe if I was roughing it in the wild, using my small blade to carve wood or something, I might appreciate having two blades… but in the city, I have never cared for the two. On my Tinker Deluxe I exclusively use the large blade. People talk about keeping one clean and one dirty, or one working sharp and the other surgical sharp… but these are all people struggling to find a reason for two knives. Look at all the lovers of the Compact, or the devoted of the Church of Alox – all these people easily gave up two blades, and never looked back. Heck - I used to carry just a single bladed folding knife, that didn’t even come with a toothpick or a screwdriver, and I got by just fine.

Its clean and simple to use. Like all 2 layer SAKs, it’s easy to find the tools you need, and its easy to access them.

I love it. Its light, cheap, easy to use, easy to carry, and adequately served my needs while away. It’s a fantastic knife, and if you’ve not tried the 84mm line up I strongly encourage you to do so.
My wife has never taken an interested in my Swiss Army Knives, but after seeing it in action on vacation, she actually asked if she could keep it in her handbag.
That’s okay… it’s given me the justification I needed to order another very similar knife…

2023.03.22 11:29 Arnoxthe1 Star Wars Jedi Knight XP Forces 2: Mysteries of the XP

Alright, guys. While this isn't a major issue at all and not something I really need solved, it is an issue that is now really bugging me and has piqued my curiosity.
So I have an incredibly powerful (for the time) laptop that can run every Windows OS from XP up. (More on that later on.) I got XP installed with all the drivers and it's running great. Quake 3 runs great. Applications for it work great. Except for... One very curious thing...
Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2
Now, I know this particular game gets tempermental, but at the same time, I'm running the game in what should be a good choice of an OS for it. The only better OS to run it in would be Windows 95 I guess. Further, the game boots up to the menu just fine and plays cutscenes perfectly fine along with the music fully working.
The problems arise with the video. Specifically, the game runs just fine in software rendering, but once I turn hardware acceleration on, I get MAJOR artificating. But wait, it gets way better, I assure you. I also have a copy of Windows Vista. Release To Manufacturing. And believe it or not, that can run Dark Forces 2 in both software rendering AND hardware accelerated modes just fine. But wait, there's more! Windows 7, again on the exact same machine, can't run Dark Forces 2 in software rendering mode without the colors glitching out, but it CAN run it fine in hardware accelerated mode!

Can someone PLEASE tell if they have ANY idea what's going on here? I would really like to know why Vista of ALL the Windows operating systems somehow runs Dark Forces 2 the best. lol

2023.03.22 07:35 OrdinaryBackground 29 [M4F] Oklahoma/Nearbyish - Who's going to Saw Con?

HI! I'm exhausted, tired, and I feel like I got the shit kicked out of me by angry dwarves. Work was rough today. I'm winding down for the night and I figure while I read things, listen to music, maybe a little writing, I need something special to top this night off. What's that, you ask?

Meeting you! Metaphorically of course. Meeting people you don't know off the Internet is a recipe for disaster. ...Or something great? At any rate, I don't roll like that, and I'd rather keep both my kidneys(though I don't rule it out if we REALLY get along!)

A little about me: I am a professional goofball, I enjoy video games, comics, manga, anime, the odd TV show and even movie when I have the time to binge-watch a series, the odd book - again if I have the time/attention span to spare - I highly enjoy tabletop RPGs such as D&D/Pathfinder(1st edition of course!) and board games, too. Outdoor things are as holy water is to a vampire to me, as my geeky nature might suggest, but I do enjoy camping and the odd fishing trip. Since attraction kind of matters, if absurdly tall, hairy and thicc ain't your thing, it might be you're better off looking elsewhere. I like to jiggle when I run, thank you very much. I am willing to trade pictures, by the by; I just don't like putting my face out there for everyone to see, yaknow?

On that note, I'm a decent cook and I bake the best brownies you'll ever have without adding a certain special ingredient. Speaking of special ingredients, I'm pretty straight edge(save for a nicotine addiction!), but I'm 420/psychedelic friendly; just don't expect me to partake! Likewise, since I'd rather be honest and up front, I'm - in stark contrast to most people who live here - an agnostic atheist, but again... live and let live right? I like to be open-minded and non-judgmental. In fact, I'm so non-judgmental that the only people I really judge are the judgy ones. Yay, contradictions!

What I'm looking for? Ideally, I wanna find that special someone, but as a wise man or woman once said, if you hold your expectations low, you'll never be disappointed! In keeping with that theme, I wanna have nice, easygoing conversation that, hopefully, will flow into something like a deeper relationship. As an aside, I'm okay with platonism if things don't really pan out romantically :o

Anyway, before this turns into a gigantiform list larger than the reply you'll get if you ask me 'what's Saw Con?', I ought to cut this drabbling off. Hope to hear from you soon, dear reader!

2023.03.22 06:07 odysseusnz Reviving my old A1200

I've just dug my two old A1200's from out of my Mum's basement after 16 years in storage, and much to my amazement they both (mostly) work! I was thinking to combine the best bits from both into one fully working machine and sell the rest.
I'm looking for advice on a) what obvious hardware issues or preventative maintenance I need to be looking at, and b) what mods I should make to be usable while keeping as close to original as possible. Happy for those to be links out to good advice sites.
  1. A1200HD/40 rev 1D, ROM 3.1, Blizzard 1260, 3.5" HDD crammed in, discoloured case with holes hacked in for external CD drive cable etc. My original machine with much sentimental value!
  2. A1200HD/40 rev 1D, ROM 3.0, original 40MB Seagate HDD, GVP A1230 with 4MB RAM and SCSI expansion, case in very good condition. One I picked up cheap as a spare when no-one wanted them.
I also have an external floppy drive,1084S monitor, RGB to VGA adapter, various mice and joysticks, and an awful lot of old magazine cover floppies. The power brick is an A500. I even have an original box.
Both boot without the accelerator cards, but the Blizzard only boots in 2), and the GVP doesn't boot in either. Also 1) booting without a card takes about 5-10 seconds to get to the kickstart screen. The GVP appears clean with no leaks and intact battery. Any suggestions on what to look at on the GVP and on 1)?
I plan to disassemble and clean the mobo's and check the caps once I have a plan in place. I may get them recapped depending on how they look.
For upgrades, I was thinking of a SATA SSD with IDE adapter (as they are more reliable and I have spares), an internal scandoubler with HDMI out (I no longer have VGA capable monitors), and max out the Blizzard memory. I'd then like an SD card for removable storage, and perhaps network. I could do either with PCMCIA, but not both? Is there an IDE to SD Card option that fits in the expansion port hole? Or will the scandoubler fill that? SD Card is more useful than network for me. Removing the floppy is not an option as I want to keep that. Open to suggestions.

Metanail Serum Pro Complex Reviews Reddit : My Experience On Metanail Complex ⚠️THE TRUTH⚠️

MetaNail is a topical formulation that combines 20 organic and essential nutrients to repair, rejuvenate, and improve the health of your nails.
Metanail Serum Pro
Many people have unsightly and unhealthy nails as a result of fungal infections. Many products claim to be able to strengthen and repair damaged nails, but the underlying cause is frequently ignored. Nail fungus is a common problem that can make you feel self-conscious about showing your toes in public. To treat nail fungus and other nail issues, doctors frequently recommend over-the-counter remedies and antibiotics. Some of these treatments, however, do not provide a long-term solution for poor nail health.
MetaNail Serum Pro is a "maximum strength" formula for nail repair, hydration, and renewal.

What is MetaNail Serum Pro

MetaNail is a topical formulation that combines 20 organic and essential nutrients to repair, rejuvenate, and improve the health of your nails. It is effective against fungus and brittle or cracked nails. The serum is simple to use and less dangerous than most oral and topical nail products.
According to the manufacturer's website, MetaNail Serum Pro is intended to provide superior and long-lasting results. It can improve nail and foot health without causing any negative side effects. The ingredients in the 20-in-1 formula are safe and effective.
MetaNail Serum Pro contains vitamins, minerals, and herbs that help to improve nail health from within. It contains no gluten, animal-based ingredients, or GMOs. The manufacturer follows GMP and FDA guidelines. Customers can expect significant improvements in the health of their feet and nails.

How Does MetaNail Work?

MetaNail Serum Pro is designed to eliminate dangerous nail fungi, including T. rubrum . Most Americans have nail fungus resulting from the T. rubrum variety. Specialists warn that the fungus is almost immune to the most widespread fungal treatment.
T. rubrum is dangerous and can lead to fatal health issues. Without proper treatment, the fungus enters the bloodstream and destroys specific organs, including the lungs and heart. MetaNail maker claims it can "infect the bones and cause permanent toe damage.’ The serum can combat most fungal infections, including T. rubrum. How does it work?
Hydrate Nail Cuticles – MetaNail maker reasons that cracked and brittle nails result from dehydrated cuticles. The serum improves hydration and strengthens the nail cuticles, thus warding off infections.
Support Cellular Health – There are different antioxidants, polyphenols, and anti-inflammatory ingredients in MetaNail serum. These support nail health by eliminating toxins and supporting cell rejuvenation. The antioxidant effect can strengthen the nails and combat various forms of infections.
Support Healthy Blood Flow – Damaged and infected nails can obstruct blood circulation in the feet and toenails. MetaNail Serum Pro can augment nutrient and oxygen absorption by boosting blood flow. Optimal blood movement accelerates healing, nourishes the toenails, and prevents fungal infections.
Improve Collagen Synthesis – MetaNail Serum is rich in vitamins C and E that support collagen production and functions. The serum provides nutrients that stimulate collagen production, thus strengthening, shaping, and improving nails. Brittle and unhealthy nails primarily result from low collagen levels.
MetaNail Serum Pro has multiple nutrients that enhance skin and nail health . Users may experience an improvement in the toenail's structure, shape, appearance, and texture a few days after using the topical serum.

MetaNail Serum Pro Ingredients

Each drop of MetaNail serum comprises 20 natural and safe ingredients. The manufacturer discloses all the ingredients in the nail serum upfront. The mixture of herbal extracts can enhance the health of skin and toenails. The active ingredients include:

Witch Hazel, Horsetail, and Scots Pine Extract
MetaNail maker refers to these three ingredients as "Powerhouse Trio," designed to eliminate fungal infections on the nails. The three nutrients are rich in multiple polyphenols and antioxidants. They work by eliminating toxins and free radicals damaging the nails . The three nutrients also soothe the nails and skin and augment blood flow.

Many beauty products and serums comprise glycerin because of its hydrating features. MetaNail is no exception. The nutrient works by hydrating the outer skin layer and nail cuticles. It can hinder the nails from weakening and cracking. Additionally, it can improve blood flow under the nails, thus boosting nutrient intake.

Rosemary and Pelargonium Graveolens
Rosemary and geranium are herbal extracts that moisturize the nails and skin. The duo can improve nail texture and appearance. In addition, MetaNail maker claims they may nourish the skin and strengthen the cuticles.

Gotu Kola
MetaNail Serum creator claims that Gotu Kola can hinder toxins from destroying the nails. The nutrient forms a protective barrier that prevents toxins and microbes from entering the skin and nails.

Vitamins C and E
The two vitamins are rich in antioxidants and thus common in most skin repair and immune-improving products. Vitamins C and E are abundant in most fruits and vegetables. MetaNail maker argues that the duo can improve healthy inflammations in the body and support toxin elimination. Additionally, a blend of vitamins C and E can enhance collagen synthesis. The compound is necessary for strengthening hair follicles, skin, and nails. Equally, collagen gives the nails shape, strength, and smooth texture.

Lemon Peel and Aloe Vera
The aloe Vera and lemon peel extract are dense in a particular protein, 14 kDa, designed to rejuvenate nail health. The specific protein strengthens the nail cuticles . Additionally, lemon peel and aloe Vera accelerate healing, reinforce nail integrity, and support growth.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is an anti-aging ingredient that may enhance skin health and prevent nails from becoming brittle. Hyaluronic acid is common in most skin serums because of its moisturizing effects. It can improve water retention and give nails a sturdy appearance.

MSM is a strengthening component in MetaNail Serum Pro. It can prevent the nails from becoming brittle and cracked. MSM fortifies joint health and can slow the aging process. Studies show that it may prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Jojoba Seed Oil and Sage Leaf Extract
Jojoba seed oil and sage leaf provides the nail and skin with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients. The pair can soothe and strengthen nails. Further, the two may prevent nails and skin from drying excessively.

Organic Green Tea and Hops
MetaNail Serum Pro formulator refers to the blend of green tea and hops as "true superheroes" that support skin and nail health. Green tea is dense in EGCG, and hops have various antioxidants to enhance skin health and fight nail infections.
Regular application of the serum can give users multiple health benefits. All the ingredients in MetaNail are organized in a Colorado-based facility that complies with the GMP and FDA manufacturing principles. The nutrients are all safe and within acceptable dosages.

Scientific Evidence on the Effectiveness of MetaNail Serum Pro

According to the official MetaNail Serum Pro website, over 74,000 users across the globe have tried the product. The creator claims the serum can curb mild-severe nail fungal infections.

T. rubrum is among the worst fungal infections that are also life-threatening. A publication in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology in 2003 indicates that the fungus is worse in patients with immune problems. T. rubrum is hard to manage and can enter the bloodstream when left untreated. MetaNail Serum Pro addresses T. rubrum fungus and other nail infections without expensive medication.

Green tea extract and other MetaNail serum ingredients can topically treat fungal infections. According to a 2015 scholarly study, green tea extract can treat candida albicans on tooth substrates. Additionally, EGCG constituents in green tea can fight multiple infections in the body.

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid can eliminate various fungal growths. In a 2018 study, researchers discovered that the vitamin could prevent the growth of Aspergillus parasiticus and Candida albicans.

In conclusion, MetaNail Serum Pro encompasses different moisturizing nutrients, antioxidants, and other ingredients that can heighten nail health. However, the maker recommends using the serum under the guidance of a professional doctor.

How to Use MetaNail Serum Pro

MetaNail Pro is a topical product that is easy to use. The manufacturer recommends using it daily to eliminate nail fungus and improve toenail health.

  • Clean the feet and nails with warm soapy water
  • Dry the feet using a clean towel
  • Apply 1 ml or one full dropper of the MetaNail serum on the nails and skin daily, preferably in the morning and evening.
  • It is best to use MetaNail serum without other moisturizers and beauty products to enhance its effectiveness.
Some users may experience an improvement in their skin and nail health after a few applications. However, MetaNail suggests using the product for a few months to repair, rejuvenate, and protect the nails.

Benefits of MetaNail Serum Pro
  • It can eliminate fungal and microbial infections
  • It can strengthen the nails and prevent breakages
  • It can improve the nail texture and appearance
  • It can eliminate feet odor
  • It may keep the nails smooth and hydrated
  • It can restore and renew the nails.'

2023.03.22 05:40 WhereIsMySun 25 year old guy, and can't date normally because of Covid

Hey everyone,
To keep things short, I'm 25 years old. I graduated from university a couple of months after the pandemic began and we got into lockdown. I live with my mother, who isn't in the best of shape. To make matters worse, she got breast cancer over the summer (but has thankfully recovered without chemo).
I'm currently the breadwinner for us. I opt not to go out, socialize, or get in close contact with anyone because I have this fear that I'll catch covid, give it to her, have her health worsen, and have it hit me hard enough to stop working/getting long covid and ruin my ability to work and earn money.
Thankfully, I work from home and have no issue with not going to parties/dinners/whatsoever for the foreseeable future. However, I'm only human and would like to get back into meeting women. I've been on the apps the past few months and have met gorgeous women and it aches me. I also would like to date and have that special someone, it it pops up (ideally, seeing her indoors not in public, or somewhere outdoors)
Thing is, all the women my age in my city (Toronto) have no worry about Covid at all. It's incredibly frustrating because they all go to work, party, restaurants, etc. I genuinely can't bring myself to see them at all because they all expect something physical ASAP and it's not something I can do without sending myself into a panic.
Also, Toronto is pretty cold throughout. Being picky about not going indoors isn't realistic except from like May till September lol.
Is anyone like me? If so, how have you fared? What do you do to go around it? Where do you meet people? Have you met people with similar concerns?

2023.03.22 05:38 Bumblemeister Dex-Based Eldritch Knight?

A friend is starting a 5E Modern campaign in Dimension 20's Unsleeping City setting, beginning at Lv3. Because openly carrying weapons can be problematic in the modern world, I've landed on Eldritch Knight as a way to have accessible arms without drawing attention. And that is largely where the metagaming has stopped!
The basic concept is: If you could make an IRL Navy SEAL a little magical, what would that look like? What would a slightly arcanified special operative have in his toolbox, given the inertia of traditional thinking in the military command structure? How would that structure lean into obvious solutions, while completely failing to appreciate the finer points of spell utility and control?
Race = Vuman, Magic Initiate: Wizard
Stats = 10, 15+1, 14, 13+1, 12, 8
Gear = Pistol and a Shortsword or Scimitar (flavored as a wakizashi or kukri). Probably better to use a rifle, but I like the pistol/blade dual wield aesthetics. Armor is still in question, but some kind of light armor is likely.
Cantrips = Fire Bolt, Message, Mending, Mold Earth
Lv1 Spells = Absorb Elements, Alarm, Cause Fear, Comprehend Languages
Next Feats will likely be XBE and SS
My current spell choices are based on what a conventionally-minded military trainer might consider "necessary", with an eye toward self-sufficiency in the field. Ex: Mold Earth is an instant, on-demand foxhole; Comprehend Languages makes it easier to airdrop him anywhere in the world; Cause Fear to disrupt enemy morale; etc.
I might swap Absorb Elements for Shield; other ideas are a little more nebulous. I know this isn't optimized, but that's kind of the point.
Backstory is roughly that this guy was on the officer candidate route after high school but was tapped for diversion into an "accelerated" training program. Magic Initiate: Wizard, Fighter levels, and successfully attaining the EK subclass are the step-stones of this nascent program, with the goal of creating the next-generation soldier through the targeted application of arcane training. The sheer strain and mystic nature of the program is intended to break the Umbral Arcana, if the candidate survives. He is considered an example of the program's resounding success and is subsequently deployed only to the worst situations. He goes off the reservation after realizing that there is no path beyond the program and that the "prototypes" are slowly being used up through increasingly hazardous missions. Now he's a deserter, trying to fly under the radar in the Unsleeping City.
TL;DR: Make your arcane super-soldier, but make him as if you have no knowledge of which spells are "best"! Where do we go from here?

2023.03.22 04:10 InfernoAA Blitz XVII ~ "DAMN, I'M THIRSTY. I WANT A BEER. WHAT ABOUT YOU? YOU WANT A BEER?" Results

STEEZ, he’s a hothead. Last week in Quebec some Canadian starts talking smack and STEEZ he just snapped. Beat him to death. Turns out that Canadian is a somebody and now STEEZ, he’s into the Canadians for a million.

Non-Title: FBE World Heavyweight Champion Inferno vs Simon Brown
With the lovely Simon Brown stepping back into the ring, the Junior Division original took it to the reigning FBE World Heavyweight Champion in a match they’ve long awaited since 2020, and it was every bit worth the wait for both men, nothing short of uber competitive in their conquests to leave victorious. Inferno dictated the pace here between the two, the more experienced under this ruleset, but Brown was just as natural in keeping up, putting on a Pure Rules performance many second-timers would be envious of. Feet on the acceleration from start to finish, the action only grew hotter with each passing second until they hit their top speeds, the smell of burning rubber accompanying Baba Blitz notching his career’s 70th win, remaining in top form as Unbreakable V continues to near!
Inferno (12) def. Simon Brown (0)

D Block: James Scott [0] vs Erick Koeman [0]
With the first two points of D Block in play, this was a true battle of hearts, once crowd favourite James Scott steadying his arrow at the apple sitting on the head of one of Blitz’s more popular recent additions, Erick Koeman. The Purest Protagonist wrestling an absolute banger in his in-ring return last week, it was clear he hadn’t missed a step in all those months, but with stakes to this one, he knew he couldn’t risk going 15 minutes again. Unlucky for him, the Flying Dutchman knew he’d need to drag his Aussie foe into deep waters if he wants a chance at drowning him, bringing exactly the opposite to Scott’s approach, trying to tire him out given the PROVINCE member’s more consistent endurance from being around lately. Though James would continue to run ahead of Erick by mere hair lengths, Koeman stayed on his tail without quit, falling just short of the finish line, Scott paring it first to take the points home!

B Block: Joey Joey Siwa [0] vs Hunter Maguire [0]
In true Past vs Present dream encounter style, OG Junior Division graduate Joey Joey Siwa faced off against its latest graduate, Hunter Maguire, in a battle of two twisted fellows upstairs (though Siwa having his screws somewhat knocked back into place after his Moore arc). JJS’s first tournament appearance in 3 years, a standout in the first Gedo Classic, the odds weren’t in his favour when paired against the latest Gedo Classic’s runner-up, yet he still shot out the cannon swinging, initially overwhelming the Death to Juniors member in an all Siwa start to the match, short and snappy offence working in his favour. As the pace gradually began to slow though, Maguire worked inversely proportionally, picking up his own game, draining the hope from the ex-Superbubbly bit by bit. Another encounter so close you could only thread a finger through it, Hunter’s comeback worked favourably, securing him his first win as a Heavyweight!

Desmond Caid vs Karma
When teacher and student met for the very first time, the world stood still, knowing it’d bear witness to something special. In a love letter of sorts to Magnum Opus, Desmond Caid and Karma turned back the clocks to their famed alliance of the year prior, the creatures of the darkness stepping under the Maestro’s spotlight to let their undoubted chemistry be illuminated. And much like Logan vs Corey weeks prior at New Beginning V, these two knew each other like the back of their hand, very evenly matched as time constraints pressured them into throwing down their best hits in rapid succession so as to not fall behind. Punctuated by constant references to old tandem moves now stripped down to solo acts, Karma certainly had the man who gave him a helping hand impressed throughout this bout, but at the end of the day, it was the teacher that held close to his chest his hidden trump card of wisdom, dealing his biggest and final lesson here to put Karma away!

D Block: Joshua Epps [0] vs Kentaro Sakamoto [0]
Two forces of nature here on Blitz, it was the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object when Joshua Epps and Kentaro Sakamoto stood toe-to-toe. Two fighters in every sense of the word, God’s Greatest Athlete summoning all the blood, sweat and tears poured into Hodges’ Gymnasium, and El Cráneo cocking and loading his guns for hands, a highly abrasive showdown had the crowd on the edge of their seats, Epps and Sakamoto pulling no punches. Every point mattering, it reflected in both men’s unyielding persistence here to not give the other a single inch, knowing just how easily that can turn into the full yard, rather keeping one another in tight quarters, holding strong the proverbial clinch on the competition. Though Kentaro shone, his barrel was empty when he needed it most, Epps firing the final bullet through his skull instead to score 2!
Joshua Epps [2] def. Kentaro Sakamoto [0] by forfeit

B Block: Cactus Mike [0] vs FBE World Tag Team Champion Capital STEEZ [0]
Hold onto your Smirnoff because this next one was a doozy. Denzel Washington front row for the action, there was but one question on the big man’s mind: have either of these two ever had their sh*t pushed in? Starkville, Mississippi firmly in hometown boy Cactus Mike’s corner, Capital STEEZ had a whole rowdy, packed 10,000+ capacity crowd to deal with, Humphrey’s Coliseum not letting the outsider off easy in Cardiac Cactus Country. Mike searching for redemption after their Lifeline Classic meeting two months ago, he poured his soul into the chase, giving his legendary foe an even closer and tougher battle than last time.
But it wasn’t just the FBE World Tag Team Champion that had to weather a storm, The Ark sent tossing and turning on the Seven Seas, though never sinking, Cactus keeping one hand on the wheel and another pointing at the mast’s flag reading ‘HAIL STATE’, fighting not only for himself but his people too. They were neck-and-neck till the very end, but ultimately STEEZ proved that King Kong ain’t got nun on him, scoring his career’s 75th win – ¾ of the way to the big 100!
Capital STEEZ [2] (8) def. Cactus Mike [0] (6)

B Block Standings:
Place Competitor Points Record

3 Cactus Mike 0 0-0-1
3 Joey Joey Siwa 0 0-0-1

D Block Standings:
Place Competitor Points Record

3 Erick Koeman 0 0-0-1
3 Kentaro Sakamoto 0 0-0-1

That’s Night Two of the Shining Light League in the bag! Some movement taking place in all blocks now, you can say the competition’s starting to begin now as competitors define the role they’re going to be assuming for the next couple months. Still a couple lads left to have their first block matches though, it’s going to be crucial for them to make an impact so as to not fall behind their peers in the game already. But that’s a matter for the next week’s show. For now, remember, pure rules.
