2023.06.03 02:21 redtadin [Online][PF2e][Beginner friendly][GMT] a Kingmaker homebrew world sandbox.

TDLR: Sandbox + kingdom management + exploration + camping + 6 player group
Do you want to run a kingdom with 6 other players and explore a large continent?
Join my thrilling tabletop RPG game in Pathfinder 2e, set in a captivating world heavily inspired by Pathfinder Kingmaker, but with its own unique twists. This is not your average campaign - it's a homebrew world where player agency and creativity take center stage.
Are you ready to embark on a sandbox adventure, driven by your own choices and actions? I'm seeking players who are actively engaged and willing to take the wheel. I need a couple of courageous PCs who aren't afraid to seize opportunities and tackle challenges head-on.
In this campaign, you'll shape your own destiny, establish meaningful relationships with NPCs, and carefully weigh the consequences of your decisions. This is not a campaign for passive players; if you prefer a more linear story, this may not be the right fit. Our sandbox-style gameplay requires active participation and a desire to drive the narrative.
I encourage players to create characters with clear goals and aspirations. The sandbox experience flourishes when players take the initiative, pursuing their own objectives and finding their own sources of enjoyment. While each character's goals should harmonize with the overall group dynamic, diversity is encouraged.
It's important to understand that the responsibility for having fun lies directly with the players. Your character's motivations are crucial, and simply having an orphan background and a few abilities won't cut it. Dive deep into your character's psyche, explore their wishes and goals, and make bold choices to ensure an immersive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
If you're ready for an exciting, player-driven campaign with limitless possibilities, join my table. Together, let's forge an unforgettable adventure in a world waiting to be shaped by your decisions.

Info:

I'm a mid 30s man and a beginner GM for pf2e. But I've been a DM for many months and a player for many months in other TTRPGs.
We play on Foundry VTT with Discord voice-chat.
Only players who are +18 years old.
6 players.
5 minute interview.
When do we start?:
When we have 6 players.
About the setting:
No lore document exists.
Not a serious setting
PG13
The homebrew world is very similar to Golarion, here is the similarities and differences.
Similarities: Same religions, gods, races, magic, monsters, creatures
Differences: Different states, countries, politics, NPCs, settlements, geography
Variant rules:
Free archetype
Restrictions:
Feats and spells that creates a token that has their own initiative number in combat. If we have 6 player characters then having more tokens takes up more time.
No long distance teleportation covering miles.
No Eberron, warforged, steampunk, inventor classes, ancestries, feats, and similar elements, sci-fi concepts like androids, robots, automatons, and firearms (crossbow as a replacement is OK)
Rules:
No evil characters.
No Player vs Player
No pick pocketing another player
No loot stealing
You are not allowed to keep secrets that can hurt the player character's group. (If the other players will know about that secret then it is OK so they will then roleplay that their player character is ignorant about what they know).
If you are absent then we will still play but your character does not gain XP. However, if more than 2 are missing then we cancel the session.
Sounds good to you? Then apply here

$2.50 for a 10 mile run. DoorDash must not think I’m struggling financially.
$1 per mile is my rule. Getting a high rating in Salt Lake City is near damn impossible if they keep offering me these slave wage runs. My car doesn’t run on air. Should I just keep declining these runs and risk getting fired?

2023.06.03 02:20 ncmtbiker Volvo Digital services subscription question

Does anyone know what if any functions go away if you do not get the Volvo Digital services subscription? Is Google Assistant disabled? Can you turn on the car seats by talking to it? Will the maps still work? Display on the driver center screen? Can you use Andriod Auto?
When I check the website it just says, .. “some apps and features may not be available.” But does not go into detail on what they are.
I was going to buy an XC60, but do not want to find out in 4 years if I don't get their subscription a lot of the features stop working.

2023.06.03 02:16 Professorplumsgun My Fetish

I spend 5 hours masturbating before my prostate exams. I edge, and edge, and edge, until a butterfly sneezing on my taint could bring me to orgasm. I tactfully shuffle my way down to the doctor’s office and when he lubes up I nearly cum every time. But I’ve trained my keggle muscles enough to the point where I can hold in Mount Vesuvius’s wrath. then as soon as he puts the smallest bit of pressure on my prostate I unleash with the fury of a lion hunting it’s prey. As the room gets covered in my hot sticky juices the doctor looks on disgusted and leaves the room. I always go to a hospital far away from where I live to get it so that I don’t have to go in for surgery under the doctor that I busted to. Best thing is we have free healthcare here, so the doctor gets me off and it’s covered by taxpayers. That’s my fetish

2023.06.03 02:15 Drakontion Help with Rise of the Runelords map confusion

Hi, I'm currently running RotRL via Roll20 and have the anniversary edition.
My players are about to do the retaking Fort Rannick section and I'm having a bit of confusion with the maps. Specifically, where exactly does the tunnel in the Fort Rannick (Underneath) map at area B37 - the lizard warrens - lead to? The only tunnels mentioned in the material are the ones you can enter through the waterfall. Does it lead back into that secret tunnel or does it go outside somewhere else?
My players are huger planners and over thinkers and I need to know where this goes so we're not going around in circles. They're currently outside with the surviving Black Arrows trying to plot their way inside.
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.03 02:15 Bookishturtle-17 Plan of Salvation isn’t Christian

I came back from a work trip and I work at a non-denominational Christian preschool. I love my coworkers and they know I’ve left Mormonism and tbh - when I started working there years ago when I was TBM, the tiny things made it plain to see that LDS church didn’t equal Christian. It added up quickly which concerned me.
Anyways, faith and love of Jesus is commonly said at work. I can agree with the themes of hope, grace and the idea of someone like Jesus wanting the best for us and helping us. (With deconstruction I’ve been all over the map of trying to identify my ideals. At the moment I’m just happy and free and trying to be a good person. But I love my job and coworkers so I’m happy to continue working there).
I shared over cups of coffee 😉 in the morning about the Plan of Salvation and I was getting into it! Telling them about the spirit world/prison, 3 degrees of heaven, outer darkness. They were shocked! I went on to explain temple work for the dead which snowballed into the temple and all that… it was a bunch of word vomit but I LOOVE being able to share about it!
What is the craziest part of the Plan of Salvation that you didn’t like when you were TBM?
I remember as a youth we didn’t have a Sunday school teacher for 3 months so we had a new sub every Sunday and guess what “generic lesson” they taught EVERY Sunday? The Plan of Salvation!
TL:DL the Plan of Salvation is messed up and isn’t Christian

2023.06.03 02:15 ArgoPanoptes Choose Desert as starting map if you have a low end laptop/pc

I started to play Satisfactory from patch 5 and chose the Grass Fields as starting map but quit after ~35h of playing because the performance were too bad. I skipped patch 6 and now I'm back with patch 7 with a new saving and chose Desert as starting world. I played ~30h and so far no big issues with performance. The thing is that with low end devices the vegetation and shadows are your enemy and the Desert map has a only few of them which help a lot. Setting the vegetation and shadows quality to low helps a lot too, but on other maps for me it is still laggy.
Maybe devs should add a benchmark section in the game where people can test their hardware on different maps. I know that the there are no different maps but it is a big one, but it still can help a lot players to enjoy the game on low end devices for long hours before they have to expand their factories on different maps.

2023.06.03 02:13 flash246 GPS Joystick Privacy Mode Broken?

I saw a recent post about the GPS joystick app by ninjas was all of a sudden not working. Sure enough, I check today and the map doesn’t load. Reinstalling the main app makes it work, but the privacy mode fake app doesn’t. The map is just blank. I’m on a rooted pixel 2 with android 11.
Anyone find a solution to this? Will not using privacy mode potentially increase the odds of a strike?

2023.06.03 02:09 Savings-Worker5283 H3 Campaign editor help

Hey everyone!
After so many years of playing this game, I'd like to create my own campaign in it. I have the concept of the story, I have set up everything in the campaign screen that can be set up and now comes the hardest part... Creating maps...
I have zero fantasy and even less talent for map making. I'd love to have my maps full of story and events but I just can't make my own maps. They look... well... sh*t... I'm aware that I can generate random maps and believe me, I have tried. But they are usually pretty meh... they take less time to edit than to create one from scratch, but still. It would take hours and hours to make a mediocre map out of a random one. I miss several features from the base editor. Like excluding some terrains when generating the map. That'd be awesome...
I have the Heroes 3 HD mod, no WoG and no HotA and I'd like to keep it this way. Any ideas on what I could do? I would need 12 different maps, all of them XL size.
Thanks for any tips!

CUBE STEP - Climb Collapsing Structures and Avoid Red Cubes!!!
I was working on posting a trailer for this game. and I going to release it in the Fall. The game when you're playing it has a really strong ability to make your feel tense and raise the steaks for each map that it plays on. You can feel some of that in the trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2f4TIyB63c&lc=Ugx4Izn_56I9Vg34A6N4AaABAg&ab_channel=IteratedDream

2023.06.03 02:07 mushpika C40 Apple Maps in the cluster after 2.9 update (bit disappointed)

C40 Apple Maps in the cluster after 2.9 update (bit disappointed)

You get additional cluster screen image when you screenshot your iPhone.

iOS 16.4. Less information is shown. Font is too large and map is too zoomed in.

after updating iOS to 16.5 everything became smaller and looks good. Showing remaining time and distance alongside the ETA.

vs. Built in Google maps
I like Google's color scheme better. Better blended in to the cluster. I like Google's next directions on the top. I like Apple's showing ETA, remaining time / distance.

I am one of very few who use Apple Maps over Google's. I stopped using Apple Maps since I bought C40 because built in G maps is better in this car. But ultimately, I really want to use Apple Maps whenever I carry a working iPhone. If I lose my phone, built in G maps would be the best alternative (compared to any other car manufactuere's own maps)
However, I am little bit disappointed that the Cluster view does not show the next directions. I will have to open Apple Maps on the center screen, in which then I find no reason to use the cluster maps.

2023.06.03 02:07 keyflusher Help request with small infrastructure item.

Hi folks, I regularly pass this broken street light base in front of the Gibson Health Hub at 5256 Gibson. Street View. I've reported it to the City via 311 and the app a few times over the last year but sadly it's still there. It makes the sidewalk hard to navigate for people with mobility issues (which is not me but still), is dangerous and sharp, and frankly just looks like ass and is an embarrassment.
Anyway I thought if a few more people were to report it, perhaps we can get it cleaned up before anyone is injured by it.
Thanks!

2023.06.03 02:06 Cooopy__ True balance

The key is to stop asking for things to be buffed or nerfed (looking at you survivor mains). I just feel like every time something gets Merced or buffed one side or the other complains. I play both so I feel like a good middle ground, I feel content with everything. When I play survivor, no killer perks stand out that much to me, and maybe it’s just because I’ve played a long time idk. When I play killer, every once in a while I’ll notice a dead hard or circle of healing, but nothing annoying. However I always see people complaining everywhere I look. I hear things like buff circle of healing, which I thought was fine, but apparently it needs to have a radius half the map large. And I’m gonna be honest I don’t see killers complaining (at least perks wise). In conclusion, BHVR please remove skull merchant.

2023.06.03 02:06 tuulikki__ [Aether][Siren][FC] Friendly, easygoing FC looking for more friends!

Looking for friendly players to chat and do content with? Searching for a chill place to hang out and enjoy the game at your own pace? Seeking a community of mature, like-minded people to be a part of?
Keepers of the Mists «Mist» may be the place for you! All players are welcome, regardless of experience or playtime. Our members typically skew older (out of college, “adulting”), but we care much more about maturity and mentality.
Our Philosophy
As a friendly, easygoing FC with a focus on being inclusive and supportive, we strive for a close-knit and personal atmosphere where our members aren’t just names, and random discussions on whatever topics—from game lore to hobbies, from raid strategies to food recipes—are always encouraged. We aim to cultivate a thoughtful and understanding community where players can relax, unwind, and be themselves. Life can be stressful enough; no need for the game to add to it as well!
About Us
«Mist» split off from a larger Free Company a little while ago and, when we couldn’t find another with the sense of community we were looking for, we decided to establish our own. We're continually looking to improve and make things better for the members, so we’re always open to ideas and feedback.
We have players working on everything from clearing end-game content to crafting, glams, and achievement hunting; we recognize that everyone has their own in-game goals and real life responsibilities, and we aim to help wherever we can. Most of us have completed Endwalker, but not necessarily all the side content and we are always happy to share in the joy of discovery as players progress through the story.
Generally, we're online in the evenings (Central/Eastern time), with a handful working from home (or with less traditional schedules) sometimes afk'ing in-game throughout the day for casual chatter.
Accommodations
We have an FC house (currently under decoration) overlooking the Empyreum's hot springs where the chocobo stables are attended to regularly.
Minions, mounts, orchestrion rolls, and other freebies are in the FC chest, including color-changing fruits and leveling items for your chocobo. We also try to supply Fashion Report item sets (free 60k+ MGP weekly!) when possible, and our gathering and crafting-inclined members would be happy to help you with gear and items!
Reduced teleportation costs and increased battle exp are up 24/7, except for Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays) when we have increased MGP. Other FC buffs are available for events or upon request.
Events & Activities
Events are run based on member interest and appetite; anyone can suggest activities, check interest, or host/request an event, and everyone is encouraged to do so! Things we’ve done run the gamut from daily roulettes to mount farms to Treasure Maps and PvP (just for fun)--anything is game if someone wants to do it! We’ve even done some progression-based events for those looking to get into harder content. We do try to take preferences and schedules into account to accommodate as many as possible.
For larger events, we’ll often poll interest beforehand and, every so often, we’ll have glam challenges, venue visits, and other more social activities, too. Currently, we have events on Wednesday, Maps on Sundays, and occasionally something on Saturday.
We do have a Discord server, but participation is not required; we mainly use it for coordination, resources, and out-of-game socializing.
~~~
If you think we would be a good fit for you, please reach out! To be able to get a better idea of what you’re looking for, we ask that you fill out this short survey:
https://forms.gle/aeSsPMsrvypLwcnV6
We'll try our best to get back to you within the week (depending on your preferred communication method) and go from there.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
2023.06.03 02:06 ComradePoolio Pyramid Head is a powerful killer with a cool toolkit. Pyramid Head also does not feel good to play or play against (optimally).
Pyramid Head is not a bad killer. Let's get that out of the way. He is very consistent, with a strong chase power that has decent counterplay.
At the same time, he is extremely flawed, with significant downsides for both the killer and the survivor.
Functionally, Pyramid Head does not feel very good to play on killer side. All aspects of his power can only be accessed by dragging his sword through the ground. People who played during his release might remember that he felt fairly fluid. You would wander the map, leaving trails as you went to trap areas that were frequented by survivors. Back then, putting his sword in the ground smoothly changed his speed to 110%, essentially changing his feel to that of a normal ranged killer. The issue came up with the technique many PHs employed, where they would chase survivors with their sword in the ground before transitioning into an M1, turning it into a die or die scenario. If you didn't dodge, you would get hit by Punishment of the Damned, if you did, it slowed you down enough for the killer to hit you normally. Some people were fine with this, others found it too oppressive with little counterplay. Regardless, changes were made that put us in our current state.
Currently, upon putting his sword in the ground or raising it up, Pyramid Head briefly slows to 92.5% speed. This feels incredibly jarring. It was "balanced" out with a cooldown reduction to his Punishment of the Damned, making it much more spammable and requiring much less thought when using at loops. Following the change, you will very rarely see PHs placing trails around the map as they wander, the slowdown is uncomfortable and leaving trails does not provide enough benefit to warrant the extra time, as most people will not wander over trails if they aren't forced over one. Trails are almost exclusively left around loops to force the survivor into being tormented or leaving the loop. There's not anything distinctly wrong with this use, I just think it's disappointing that passive use of his trails is actively discouraged and clunky. Whether or not it's made a huge effect on his chasing power is a different discussion, the main point is that it feels so bad that it entirely changes the way many people play the killer.
The second issue is one of design philosophy. Pyramid Head was introduced when tunneling off hook was a much greater risk than it is today. Back then, there was no guaranteed safety net after being unhooked, and survivors relied on the perk Borrowed Time to provide one. Regardless of how people felt about it, tunneling was supported more by the game's mechanics than it is today. Pyramid Head's cages were largely centered around countering Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. Essentially the cages were similar to Lightborn, if the survivors brought the specific perks, they could be negated, if they didn't, that benefit was moot. Today, with basekit BT, PH's cages counter a fundamental mechanic of the game. No matter what perks survivors bring, caging somebody almost always offers a substantial advantage that no other killer can experience, the ability to down immediately after a survivor is rescued. This leads to a problematic design philosophy for PH.
To play PH optimally, you must tunnel. There's no way around it. To fully use his powers in the most efficient way, you must torment a survivor, send them to a cage, find the cage, and proxy camp until they either die or are rescued, upon which you immediately down them and hook or cage them if possible. Plenty of people will say that they don't play PH like that, and that's fine, that's good even, but you also are not playing him optimally. Others will argue that tunneling is the most effective strat for any killer, and that's not wrong, but no other killers have a power that inherently nullifies game mechanics (sit down, Nurse) in such a way that enables tunneling so completely. This, to put it eloquently, is no good no fun. For survivors, it means getting forced out of the game early, which feels like shit. For killers, it means choosing between behaving like an asshole or willingly putting yourself at a disadvantage by using your power counter to its design.
In the recent PTB, PH's power was modified to torment survivors when they're struck by Punishment of the Damned. In chase, this felt great, though it did not fix his clunkiness, it gave him a reliable and active way to torment survivors, rather than relying on them being oblivious or forcing them into one of his passive traps. Unfortunately, it also shone a massive spotlight on the fundamental issues of his design philosophy, as it made tunneling even easier than before. Punish a survivor, cage them, punish them on being rescued, cage them again, punish again, kill. In today's announcement, this change has been reverted. I truly hope this isn't the last we'll see of tweaks of PH in the near future, because he desperately needs something. People talked about making the change a purple add on, but I think that's the wrong route. It's not a good idea to lean into the tunnel machine philosophy. A bandaid fix would've been making survivors who are uncaged immune to torment for 15 seconds, illustrated by a ring counting down around their HUD icon, visible to survivors only. I think that would've made the change decently balanced, but I don't think creates the perfect scenario either.
Pyramid Head's power is fundamentally flawed, encouraging toxicity, discouraging variety, and stemming from a dated sandbox and rulekit that has changed massively in the years since his release. His powers need a rework that keeps what people love about him, namely his chasing ability and a measurable benefit to giving up hook perks in favor of caging people, while also doing away with the elements that make him feel clunky and toxic.
Also his add-ons fucking suck and his ass holds a fraction of the power it once had. BHVR please increase his cheek girth by 300% basekit, more with add ons, and bring back the speaker destroying, earth shatteringly loud sound of his knife dragging from patch 4.3.1, thank you.
