2023.03.22 17:54 Tizbi Has anyone else run into the problem of Gourmia air fryer temperature being too hot? It would burn food at 170F

Wise people of the air fryer community, I’ve been struggling with this air fryer for a bit now and any help on this would be appreciated!
I bought the Gourmia airfryer (GAF826) and recently noticed the temperature seems to be always on the highest setting regardless of what the digital display says. It would burn food within 5mins on 170 F.
Edit: Also just wanted to add this air fryer is about only a month and half old and is very clean.
Is this a common defect and is there a way to fix this? Unfortunately warranty only apply to those in the US and I’m in Canada so I’m kinda stuck with this.

2023.03.22 17:46 Wrong_Machine_8779 [NAD] - does the story my dentist is telling me make sense?

Here's what happened. I got a filling done by my dentist about 2 months ago. A few weeks ago I started noticing pain in the tooth, both temperature and pressure sensitive. So I go in to get it looked at, and they tell me that somehow there's a "gap in the filling", not entirely sure what that means, and they want to do a bite adjustment. This to me is red flag number one - they specifically told me that the filling had no impact on my bite, yet I couldn't get a satisfactory answer as to why I need a bite adjustment when I never had a bite issue before the filling.
So then the dentist walks out and a different one comes in. Explains the situation, and says there will be no charge to me or my insurance. Now to me, this suggests that they messed something up with the filling initially, and are making it right. But neither of them would admit to the office making a mistake with the filling. Which is sketchy to me, red flag number two. Plus, talking to both of them, I just got weird vibes. It felt like it was a bigger deal of a procedure than it really was and they were trying to downplay it.
The final red flag was when I set up the appointment to get this done, they didn't put it in the computer, nor did they give me an appointment card. It all felt very "off the books".
So my options are let them do this work, free of charge, potentially off the books, or go to a different dentist and get a second opinion. What do you think?
EDIT Do not smoke, haven't drank in a few months, don't have x-rays but they told me that my xrays didn't show any signs of issues.

2023.03.22 17:32 Berfs1 [USA-TX] [H]PayPal, local cash, 2080 Ti 300 [W] 2080 Ti 300A

Hello again swappers, I currently have a 2080 Ti Black edition, however the cooler is swapped with my 2070 Super's cooler (EVGA designed these coolers in such a way no modification was necessary to do the swap), but the same 2080 Ti shroud and fans are still with the 2080 Ti. I also replaced the thermal paste with liquid metal (Conductonaut), and the SMDs are coated with nail polish, so no problems will arise. The reason I want to trade for another 2080 Ti is because this one is a 300 model, and while it can be reflashed, it can only be reflashed to other 300 models. Basically NVIDIA made two 2080 Ti variants, the 300 die does not support factory OC (but can still be manually overclocked by end user), while the 300A die supports factory OC. Now, NVIDIA thought it would be really funny to make the 300 model require 2x 8 pins, but limit it to 250W, or 280W with the extra power limit, however I will be liquid cooling this/a 2080 Ti soon, and I will be able to take advantage of the higher power limit, from 280W to ~375W if I can find a vBIOS that goes that high.
This card has been tuned, and with my near silent fan curve, the optimal clock/voltage is 1740 MHz at 800mV, with temperatures around 65C max with this undervolt. Memory has been overclocked to +500 offset in afterburner, it can do higher, I did do +1000 offset but it was borderline stable in games, so I backed it down to +500. I am not trying to sell this 2080 Ti (unless I get another 2080 Ti), but rather trade it to someone with a 300A 2080 Ti, preferably with an identical PCB layout such as EVGA's XC Ultra, and preferably it be another EVGA card. While I would also accept hydro copper variants, I already bought the waterblock for my GPU so I'd rather not go for the HCs. I am also willing to buy your 2080 Ti in case you don't want to trade! Local 78660
Edit: Here is a list of all 2080 Ti's that are compatible with my waterblock:

Countdown to Kickoff 2023: Portland Thorns FC

🌹🌹🌹 LET'S GET THORNY!! 🌹🌹🌹
You can check out the the original post with links to all other write ups for this year here.
Head Coach: Mike Norris
Formerly an assistant coach for the Thorns, Mike Norris took over the team in January of this year following the resignation of last year’s head coach, Rhian Wilkinson who stepped down after only one season. Her resignation came after a joint investigation by the NWSL & NWSLPA regarding a relationship developing with a current player on the team. While the investigation found Wilkinson did not violate league policies, Wilkinson left the team after player urging, regarding the broken trust between the players and Wilkinson, the legitimacy of the reporting/investigation process of the team/league, and potential retaliation amongst other issues.
Norris joined PTFC in 2022 as an assistant head coach under Wilkinson. Most recently, Norris was the goalkeepers coach for the current Olympic champions, the Canadian Women’s National Team, but Norris’s assistant coaching background in women’s soccer is extensive. After starting his coaching career in youth soccer, he quickly moved up through Canadian youth’s national system up to the senior team over the span of 8 years. Most importantly, Norris was hired with the backing of the current players. Expectations are high for Norris. The Thorns are coming off their third championship season with sights set on a repeat performance.
Technical Director: Karina LeBlanc - General Manager
Karina LeBlanc took over the role of General Manager in November of 2021 following a 3 year stint as CONCACAF’s Head of Women’s Soccer. The newly dedicated role in the Thorns' organization came after a separation between the Thorns management from their brother club Portland Timbers FC stemming from the fall out of the 2021 abuse scandal of the league. LeBlanc, a Canadian national team Hall of Famer, was immediately thrown into the mix, managing to make a splash with her first two trades within her first month, securing a substantial amount of allocation money and expansion draft protection. Unfortunately, LeBlanc stumbled a bit in her first NWSL draft, using her first pick on a player that was never signed by the club (due to transphobic/anti-LGBTQ+ social media posts). In just over a year, LeBlanc appears to be a breath of fresh air in the recent tumultuous years of the club. Just like head coach Mike Norris, there are high expectations for LeBlanc (honestly though, not protecting a known abuser would instantly shoot LeBlanc up to the best GM in Thorns history).
Captain: Chrstine Sinclair
Synonymous with Portland women’s soccer and needing no introduction, the Canadian GOAT Christine Sinclair has been the Thorn’s captain since the start of the league in 2013. While several players have worn the armband in Sinc’s absence, the captaincy is Sinc’s and truly Sinc’s alone.
Stadium: Providence Park, Soccer City, USA
Arguably one of the most iconic professional soccer stadiums in the US, Providence Park has played host to the Thorns since they joined the league in 2013. Located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood in Southwest Portland, the recently renovated stadium is home to both PTFC teams and can host over 25,000 fans.
Ownership: To Be Determined
I am not going to waste time talking about the Thorns' current owner; in no way does he deserve any more publicity and in mine, and I’m sure many others’ opinion, should not be allowed to own a club in the league. Thankfully, in December of 2022, it was announced the Thorns would be up for sale. While this could potentially hinder both the Thorns & Timbers’ mantra of “Two Teams, One Club”, the future is bright for the Thorns. Right after the announcement of the sale, it was reported that an all-women investment group led by Nike executive Melanie Strong was looking to submit a bid with a valuation of $60 million.
Mascot: N/A
While there is no mascot for the club, the prominence of roses can be seen throughout the club, including on merch, within the supporters section, and even awarded to players after home matches.
Kits: We’ve Got Some Mixed Opinions
The Thorns have had some really great kits in past years. However, the kits unveiled in 2022 really missed the mark. One comment pointed out that the 2022 kits looked as if someone took the 2021 kits and remade them in MS Paint. Switching to black kits the previous year, Portland’s primary kits kept with the theme of a black base with the inclusion of red vines/thorns. A nice little easter egg, the acronym dear to the PTFC supporters, BAON, is included within the neck tag (a feature added to the kits starting in 2020).
The secondary kits didn’t fare much better. The club kept with the primary colors of white and red, but other than that, not much else can be said about them.
2023 brings about a fun new kit for our Ed Hardy fans out there (at least we can say they didn’t play it safe???). The Thorns wanted to go bold and that they did. With an updated logo on the shorts, they definitely stand out.
Supporters Groups: The Rose City Riveters
Housed in the North End of Providence Park, the Rose City Riveters are a wild bunch of supporters. You can check out their Instagram or Twitter. The group provides plenty of volunteer opportunities, charity drives, and are never shy in supporting what they believe in. The Riveters are loud and proud (NSFW - language), creating one of the best sporting environments in the league. Very biased, but they also create some of the best TIFOs and banners; since I love a good TIFO/banner, here are few of my recent favorites:
Subreddit: /Thorns
The Thorns subreddit is probably above average in activity compared to other clubs. You’ll get the biggest news, fun social media posts, and the occasional hyped upvote party (we like excitement). Drop by to show your support!
News and Commentary: Stumptown Footy & Riveting!
Stumptown Footy & Riveting! are the two publications that you will constantly find Thorns-centric coverage & commentary. While STF is currently going through the SB Nation cuts of all soccer coverage, they still plan on continuing coverage of soccer in Portland. Both are great for not just coverage, but opinions on the Thorns & the league.

2022 Season Review
Three Stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐
The Portland Thorns were your 2022 NWSL League Champions! As any other season in Portland, the Thorns came in with high expectations following their Shield win in 2021, but their upset loss in the semi-finals to Chicago. Portland went into the pre-season Challenge cup in the West Division finishing 3-1-2, but missed out on advancing to the knockout stage to defend their Challenge Cup championship. The Thorns started off the regular season a little sluggish, going 1-3-1 in their first five games, falling all the way to 7th in the standings. Thankfully, they quickly hit their stride, going on a 10 game unbeaten streak. Following back to back thrashings from NCC & SD, the Thorns went on to not drop a match for the rest of the season. They ended the season with a record of 10-9-3 and a goal differential of +25! The race for the shield at the end of the season was wild, with Portland being in control of their own destiny, but couldn’t get it done, ultimately falling short by 1 point to OL Reign.
Focusing on the on-field storylines, there is one name that was the star of the show: Sophia Smith. Coming into her 3rd season in the league, Smith took off (for club and country)! Racking up 14 goals with 3 assists which lead to 3 Player of the Week nominations (1 win), a Player of the Month award, 2nd in the race for the Golden Boot, NWSL Championship Game MVP, and ultimately being crowned the 2022 NWSL MVP. Nothing could stop Sophia Smith last season and hopefully this is just the beginning for her.
Smith was not the only Thorns player to really step it up this year. Continuing on with the nickname of Goalkeeper FC (shout out the magical Thorns GKer coach Nadine Angerer), starting goalkeeper Bella Bixby tied for the most clean sheets in the league with 9 (10 if you include the playoffs). Rookie Sam Coffey made an immediate impact in the midfield, switching to a DM position and being an anchor our midfield needed. The Thorns also had 1 iron woman in 2022, defender Kelli Hubly who really solidified her starting role going forward (over an injured Emily Menges). Last, but not least, one of the biggest stories of the season: the return of Crystal Dunn! After giving birth to her very adorable son Marcel in May, Dunn returned to the pitch less than 4 months later. And who could forget Dunn’s game winner to send Portland to the championship?
Players Out
  • Lindsey Horan, MF - For now, Horan is still out on loan to Lyon through the summer of 2023
  • Marissa Everett, F - Retired (to pursue a career in nursing)
  • Abby Smith, GK - Free agency (signed to Gotham)
  • Yazmeen Ryan, F - Traded to ACFC
Players In

  • Izzy D’Aquila - Forward - Round 1 Pick 12 (signed)
  • Lauren DeBeau - Forward/Midfield - Round 2 Pick 24 (released by the team ahead of final roster)
  • Lauren Kozal - Goalkeeper - Round 3 Pick 32 (signed)
Preseason Roster
Thorns return 23 players from their 2022 season and added 3 new players through the NWSL Draft.
Goalkeepers (3): Bella Bixby, Shelby Hogan, Lauren Kozal (DRAFT)
Defenders (9): Kelli Hubly, Meghan Klingenberg, Natalia Kuikka (INTL), Tegan McGrady, Emily Menges, Meaghan Nally, Gabby Provenzano, Reyna Reyes (DRAFT), Becky Sauerbrunn
Midfielders (7): Sam Coffey, Crystal Dunn, Olivia Moultrie, Taylor Porter, Rocky Rodríguez, Christine Sinclair, Hina Sugita (INTL)
Forwards (7): Janine Beckie, Natalie Beckman, Hannah Betfort, Izzy D’Aquila (DRAFT), Sophia Smith, Michele Vasconcelos, Morgan Weaver
Predicted Preferred Gameday XI
Formation: A bit unknown what the formation will be this year with a new head coach, but the Thorns primarily ran a 4-3-3 last year. It’s going to be an interesting discussion to see how Norris handles where Sinclair goes. While I respect the Canadian GOAT, I believe Sinc would be best used as a super sub. Depending how Norris handles where Sinclair goes, there is going to be some variation within our midfield & forwards group. Predicting Sinc remaining in our starting line up, I would expect to see some form of our starting XI looking something like:
Likely Top Bench/Subs:
  • Emily Menges, D
  • Hina Sugita, MF
  • Janine Beckie, F (sike :( )
  • Izzy D’Aquila, F
  • Olivia Moultrie, M (again, Moultrie’s use is really going to depend on what Norris plans on. Moultrie was ramping up in minutes on the back half of the season last year. As of today, Moultrie is in the Starting XI for the Thorns first preseason match)
Returning Players (Almost Everyone):
GK: Bella Bixby, Shelby Hogan
D: Kelli Hubly, Meghan Klingenberg, Natalia Kuikka, Tegan McGrady, Emily Menges, Meaghan Nally, Gabby Provenzano, Becky Sauerbrunn
M: Sam Coffey, Crystal Dunn, Olivia Moultrie, Taylor Porter, Rocky Rodríguez, Christine Sinclair, Hina Sugita
F: Janine Beckie, Natalie Beckman, Hannah Betfort, Sophia Smith, Michele Vasconcelos, Morgan Weaver
The Vets
Almost every Thorns player is a veteran with the team at this point. The vets below are those who have been around the block a time or two in this league:
D: Klingenberg, Menges, Sauerbrunn
M: Dunn, Rodríguez, Sinclair
Something to Prove
  • Kelli Hubly (D) - Being the Thorns only iron woman is a feat in itself, but until the 2021 season, Hubly hadn’t been a consistent starter. With an aging backline, it will be seen if Hubly can continue on the upward trajectory in being that anchor of our backline
  • Sam Coffey (M) - Year 1 for Coffey went about as good as one could wish for. Like Hubly, Coffey’s “prove it” is if she can continue to be as good as she was last year, proving that year 1 wasn’t just a fluke (I don’t think anyone thinks this is the case though). If she isn’t called in for the World Cup (a long shot at making it at the moment), Coffey is going to be a key piece for the Thorns.
  • Olivia Moultrie (M) - The Child. (Can we even call her that anymore?). Moultrie & co. fought hard to allow her to play for the Thorns which led to massive changes in how the league handles U18 players. That said, Moultrie hasn’t really consistently shown that she’s as good as they said she was. A lot of it is due to playing time, it came sporadically and at times, playing only the last few minutes of the match. However, Moultrie has shown flashes of brilliance when she was in. She’s not afraid to be physical and she has the confidence to take her shot.
  • Christine Sinclaire (M) - Does Sinc really have to prove anything at this point in her career? No. However, we are unfortunately heading towards the end of Sinc’s career here. The big question is, how will she handle it? This will be Portland’s 3rd coach in 3 years and while the Thorns are far from rebuilding, it is yet to be seen where Sinc will fall in Norris’s game planning. However it shakes out to be, I have a feeling we will see Sinc be what Sinc always is, the GOAT.
Out for the season
So far, Portland is looking good as far as the SEI list (knock on wood). Jinxed myself on this one. Unfortunately, Janine Beckie went down in the preseason friendly against the U23 NT with an ACL tear. The biggest missing piece will once again be Lindsey Horan. Leaving at the start of last season, Horan left big shoes to fill. She will continue to be out until at least June (the end of her loan), but we most likely won’t see her return until after the World Cup. Fortunately for the Thorns, they do not lack depth in their midfield.
Realistic Best Case Scenario: 1st Place
The Thorns are returning almost the entirety of their championship team. And while they do have a new coach, Norris was there during the Thorns’ championship run. Expectations for the club will be higher than ever with the possibility of the Thorns going back to back a very realistic goal.
Realistic Worst Case Scenario: 5-7th place
The league is only getting better. While the Thorns did not lose any key players, many clubs right below them gained quite a few. Five different clubs were all within 4 points of each other at the end of the season. The 3 teams right below Portland were San Diego, Houston, and Kansas City. I won’t repeat what’s already been said in these write ups about those 3 teams, but the Thorns could’ve easily been 5th last year as they could’ve been 1st. Looking further back, you have a team like ACFC who should be returning many injured starters and could easily project themselves forward in the standings. The World Cup is going to be especially hard on the Thorns who will look to have ~7 players out which includes 5 potential starters. I don’t expect to see Portland drop out of the playoff picture, but the middle to back half of the season could get very interesting.
Realistic Most Probable Scenario: 2nd-4th
While the Thorns didn’t make any flashy trades or free agent signings, they stuck with what they know worked. Sophia Smith really hit her stride last year and is going to be looked upon to continue her dominance this year. The return of Lindsey Horan (if healthy) in the back half should really give us a push late into the season. Portland returns a team of veterans that know what it takes to win. Can they repeat the success of their 2022 season? We’re going to have to find out.

Q&A #68...Majestic Herbs Gynostemma for the Win!
Q: Hey man I just wanted to say I really liked the info you gave us about Gynostemma tea. I never even knew this tea existed let alone all the performance and health benefits that it offers.
You seem to know a lot about herbs as well as all the other bodybuilding supplements too. You are like an encyclopedia of knowledge and not just on drugs and training info.
I am an older bodybuilder closing in on 50 years old. I have been on and off the gas for over 30 years. I really like all the longevity content you are discussing and I find it very informative and interesting.
I have one complaint though. You didn't mention what brands of Gynostemma to buy? I am sure there are good and bad quality ones, like just about everything out there.
I found one called Majestic Herbs Gynostemma. Did you ever hear of it? If so please let me know what you think of this brand?
Thanks Coach for all the wonderful content!
Majestic Herbs Gynostemma is of the Highest Quality!
A: Hey man its great to hear from you. So you liked the info on Gynostemma tea eh? I am very happy that I was the one to introduce you to this nutritional powerhouse. It has so much good stuff to offer that its too good not to drink. Plus I actually love the taste of it too.
Yes I have heard of Majestic Herbs brand and it is one of the ones that I recommend. I am planning another article about all the different forms of taking Gynostemma and brands as well in the near future. But today I will cover the Majestic Herbs Gynostemma as that is what you wanted to know about.
With the two part series I did on the health and performance benefits of Gynostemma tea I received a ton of DM's with questions and praises. Today I want to give you an in depth look at one of the products that you mentioned and that is none other than Majestic Herbs Gynostemma tea.
I Love Gynostemma Tea!
Rare Medicinal Herbs at Your Fingertips!
First off when it comes to different companies that produce high quality herbs and teas, Majestic Herbs is one of my favourite. Now for those of you who don’t know, Majestic Herbs is located out of Thailand but it is run by a fellow Canadian who moved out there a decade ago. He created this business to fill the gap of sourcing rare medicinal herbs especially for those that live in areas where they are nearly impossible to find.
He also wanted to provide customers with the highest quality organic medicinal herbs and teas available at an affordable price. This would allow these rare medicinal herbs to be shipped right to your door. No longer would you have to search high and low trying to get your hands on high quality herbs. With Majestic Herbs being an online business, getting your herbs is quick and easy.
Gynostemma Offers Amazing Health Benefits!
What Does Gynostemma Offer Your Health and Performance?
Now for those of you who have missed my series on Gynostemma I recommend you go back and give it a read. I have provided a ton of information based on medical studies to help you understand all that it has to offer your health and training performance. Here I want to highlight just a few of the many positive benefits Gynostemma tea has on the human body.
  • Gynostemma can help fight and prevent several forms of Cancer

  • Works with chemotherapy to improve its effectiveness and reduce damaging effects that it is noted for

  • Prevents cardiovascular disease from several angles

  • Optimizes blood pressure to treat both low and high levels

  • Lowers cholesterol, triglycerides, and irregular heart beats

  • Strengthens the immune system against bacteria and viruses

  • Provides potent antioxidant protection against free radicals

  • Improves muscle pumps in the gym due to increased nitric oxide production
  • Helps to reduce mental and physical stress and replenish depleted serotonin and dopamine levels

  • Helps ease insomnia and regulates your sleep cycle
  • Increases training endurance and recovery between sessions

  • Now these are just a handful of the different things that Gynostemma tea has to offer those that consume it.

  • It has been studied by medical researchers for several decades with tons of studies that have been conducted on it. This is truly one of the healthiest teas you can drink.
Gynostemma's Performance Benefits are Amazing for Bodybuilders!
Why Do I Like Majestic Herbs So Much?
Now there are many different Gynostemma teas available on the market so what makes Majestic Herbs different? One thing that really stands out is the integrity of this company. For me this is a big thing and I am sure many of you reading this feel the same way. Majestic Herbs Gynostemma tea is first off organic. This is a big plus for me especially when you don’t want to be thinking about what kind of pesticides could be used. Majestic Herbs source of Gynostemma is a fair trade product grown by local hill tribe farmers.
Beautiful Gynostemma Farms in Thailand!
This provides income to local farmers that have in the past relied on drug crops such as opium to provide for their families. By growing and cultivating Gynostemma it has provided a way out for these farmers to earn money while not relying on illegal drug farming. This allows them for a better way of life and a way to take care of their families without resorting to past means. In fact, Majestic Herbs Gynostemma is not just pesticide free but no chemical fertilizers are used as well.
Organic and Fair Trade
These Gynostemma farms are also run under a project by the government to help solve the issues of deforestation and soil erosion to make it easy on the environment from every angle. Under this Royal Project program, only sustainable and organic methods are allowed and practised in the farming of these crops. These farms and their products are also licensed and inspected by the Thailand version of the FDA. Since no chemical fertilizers are used, these hill tribe farmers rely on compost and humus methods.
Making Sure Your Gynostemma is Free of Pesticides is a Must!
Once the Gynostemma is ready to be harvested it is hand picked and dried using the traditional pan drying method. This is one of there reasons why Majestic Herbs Gynostemma tastes amazing, but also why it is so potent. When someone purchases Majestic Herbs Gynostemma not only are you benefiting your health and wellness, but you are doing much more. You are also helping provide a legal income to farmers and help sustain the traditions and way of life for the indigenous hill people of northern Thailand. Now with all that I just mentioned, how could I not want to spend my hard earned money with a company based on integrity and transparency like Majestic Herbs?
How Do I Prepare this Amazing Tea?
Now many of you might be wondering what is the best way to brew up Majestic Herb’s Gynostemma tea. There are a couple ways you can do it but I will outline below the best procedure to make the tastiest and most potent method available.
Start with Clean Water!
Step 1: Use High Quality Water
I am assuming the large majority of you reading this do care about the quality of the water you drink on a daily basis. One important note is that to get the best taste from tea, using a high quality clean water is a must. It can be reverse osmosis, distilled, or any other high filtration method to make sure it is clean and toxin free.
Don't Over Heat Your Gynostemma!
Step 2: Dial in the Temperature
Now take this clean pure water source and get it heated up to around the 90 degrees Celsius mark. You can use a food thermometer if you like but I am sure many of you don’t have the patience for this. I do seem to know my readers well, don’t I? To make this even easier you can bring the water to a boil on the stove. Once you have reached this point, remove it from the heat source and allow it to cool for about three minutes. This will most of the time get it to the right temperature without all the hassle.

Step 3: Add in the Gynostemma Tea
Here you can add in 1-2 teaspoons for each 250 ml of water used. If you are going to make a litre of tea, simply add in 4-8 teaspoons of Gynostemma to help provide the optimal dosage. You can try with the lower amount your first time and then increase from there to help you see not only where you like the flavour best, but also for its effects as well.
They Don't Call it \"Wonder Grass\" for Nothing!
Step 4: Steep for Potency
Now the next thing you want to do after you add in the tea is to steep it. Here you can cover and allow the tea to steep for a minimum of ten minutes. This is the least amount of time you want because you want to extract all those amazing gypenosides that I discussed in my series. One thing I like to do is let it steep for a full two hours. Oh yea I like my Gynostemma tea strong that is for sure. This allows the maximum concentration of those healing saponins to be pulled from these delicate leaves.
Brew to Perfrection!
Step 5: Drink and Be Merry
Now that your tea is ready, its time to drink up all that goodness that it possesses. You can drink it anytime of the day or night without any concerns. Like I mentioned in my articles, Gynostemma is dual directional. This means that it will help provide energy throughout the day, and then help you calm down and relax in the evening.
Tips and Tricks
Now many of you might be wondering how much to drink daily to reap all the benefits. For the beginner I would recommend at least 2-4 cups each and every day spaced out. Don’t try and drink that much all at once as you will get better results spacing it out. In terms of when is the best time to drink this delicious tea, consuming it about half hour before meals on an empty stomach is best. You can also take it a couple hours after a meal as well.
Make Sure to Use Enough Dry Tea to be Potent!
Now in the above paragraph I recommended 1-2 grams of tea per cup of water. For those of you who are more advanced and have responded well to the tea, this can be increased to find your sweet spot. Remember Gynostemma is safe and non toxic in nature. It has been consumed for thousands of years by people who drink large amounts everyday. The thing noted by these people is not only their healthy bodies free of disease and illness, but also their very long lifespans as well.
How Do I get my hands on Majestic Herbs Gynostemma?
Now like I mentioned before, getting your hand on this amazing tea is simple and easy. All you have to do is go to their website which I will leave below and place your order. They also have a contact form on their website. This way if you have any questions or concerns they will get back to you. They even have a customer service and order line as well if you would like to reach out and call. I have always received fast and courteous service that goes above and beyond what other companies offer. This is another reason why I have always liked dealing with “Mom and Pop” businesses over large corporations where they care less about your needs.
Majestic Herbs Gynostemma for the Win!
So take it from me. If you are new to Gynostemma tea then you are in for a real treat with Majestic Herbs organic tea. For those of you who have read my articles over the last two decades, you know that I try and source out those hidden gems that are not so easy to find in a wide variety of niche areas that strength athletes can benefit from.

2023.03.22 17:01 Dekzo 2000 Nissan Frontier check engine light on

My check engine light just came on at 152k miles, I want to lay the symptoms out here and see if you guys can help with whats wrong to see if I can fix it myself. About a year ago my truck went from getting 265 miles a tank to about 215, and recently every now and then when I turn my truck on a warm start the engine will sort of chug for 10 seconds or so, and usually my bluetooth will say the battery charge is low (like 13.7) when this happens. I dont know if this could be related but 5 months ago my AC and bluetooth started acting weird depending on the temperature outside. If it was cold or night time my AC would work fine but if it was too hot it wouldn’t work until I was driving for a bit, then stop when I was parked. My bluetooth plugs into the cig port and if its cold or night time it only works in the opposite scenario (hot outside). If you guys could help that’d be awesome

2023.03.22 16:52 URDVine VEAI: Ending the AMD processor-related shutdowns by switching to Mac mini M2 - good idea?

So I recently made a post already about Apple confirming that iMacs with AMD GPUs are especially prone to frequent crashes and shutdowns when runnig Topaz VEAI. Just now I have word from the support Apple is working on a solution, but it will take some time.
I have been using a 27'' 2020 iMac and with the issues getting worse and worse and many hours wasted, I am finally thinking of putting an end to the whole hassle by getting myself a Mac mini M2 as a secondary machine, exclusively for running my Topaz projects pretty much 24/7.
I am not a big techie, but from my understanding the Mac minis use a built-in GPU specifically designed by Apple. This should eliminate the issue, right? And it does NOT seem to be caused by overheating because the crashes persisted in spite of using a fan acceleration tool keeping my GPU temperature consistently below 90. Has anyone already made the test and is able to confirm? Should I spend the money??

Hey all, I've been playing squash for a few years now and I just purchased tickets to go watch the World Squash Champions in Chicago May! Super excited
This will be my first time going to watch a professional squash tournament, so I am just wondering if there are any general etiquette that I should know and whether there are norms as to what to wear as a spectator to these events.
Thank you and have a great day :)

2023.03.22 16:18 letmeliveinmydreams What neighborhoods would you recommended I give a chance? Making 55k before taxes.

Hi, all!
I intended to move to Lake View East or Lincoln Park in the coming months but recently had second thoughts thinking of my longevity staying in Chicago. As of right now, I do not feel comfortable renting an apartment over $1200/month and worry about the rent renewal when my apartment lease is up. Of course, I did find some good apartments way under my hard limit but still I worry.
I have also heard that the two locations I would like to go to are very popular and expensive, and wondering if there are any other Chicago neighborhoods that would do me justice.
I am single, I do not have a car or children, I make 55k before taxes with around $350-$500 savings every month. I’m also execlusively looking into studios (my preferred type of housing.)

2023.03.22 16:15 Kazhext Strange sensation (Pain?) on filled Molar

Hi there, at the tail end of last year I had a filling in one of my bottom molars, it was a fairly deep cavity but I hadn't experienced any pain from the cavity at all. After the filling, the tooth was fine just typical cold temperature sensitivity for a couple weeks after.
Fast forward to now about 4 month period I've been experiencing a strange sensation in that area? It feels like a slight pulse or minor pain that lasts only 2-3 seconds at most then vanishes again, randomly. Everywhere I have looked doesn't really line up with my symptoms. Been happening for about a week now.
The tooth isn't sensitive to cold, to heat and there's no pain at all from touch or during eating. Is this something I should worry about?
P.S: The pain is about a 1/10 in terms of pain scale. Sometimes I barely notice it until I sit there and focus on it.

2023.03.22 16:14 Cloudy-orange469 Corned Beef Hash trick

I've always had difficulty with corned beef hash (canned) sticking. I've varied the fat type and amount, the temperature, the time, the preheat etc. Never could get it to not stick. Recently someone posted about frying onions periodically to even out their seasoning, and I thought-what if I fry onions immediately before the hash? It's literally just beef and potatoes, so fried onions would go great anyway.
So, 8" skillet, a tbsp or so of bacon grease and a small diced onion. Cooked at 3.5 (electric range) for about 10 minutes (onions are about half way between getting translucent and caramelized) and then add the hash. Let it sit to crisp up and turn a few times. No sticking and now my hash also has sautéed onions. Win-win.

2023.03.22 16:00 Opethfan1984 "Rook" A Cyberpunk story by GPT-4

In the murky depths of New Chicago, where the sun barely touched the cracked pavement, a man known only as Rook walked the razor's edge between life and death. Rook was no hero; in fact, he had made a name for himself as an anti-hero, a street samurai who lived by his own code in a world gone mad.
As the gap between the haves and have-nots widened, technology fueled an underworld of crime and vice. Knowledge was the new currency, and memory downloads were worth more than their weight in gold. Through cunning and guile, Rook had managed to steal a fortune in credits, using them to purchase illicit knowledge and mechanical body parts to augment his already formidable skills.
His latest acquisition was a rare gem: a memory download containing the collected works of Isaac Asimov, a writer from the 20th century who had prophesied a world not unlike the one Rook now inhabited. With this new knowledge, Rook saw the patterns of human behavior that had persisted through the centuries, and he began to adapt his methods.
One evening, as the neon lights of New Chicago cast a dim glow on the filthy streets, Rook found himself facing a new challenge. A powerful gang known as the Cyber Rippers had emerged, a group of criminals with abilities and enhancements that rivaled his own. Their members bought knowledge and mechanical upgrades on the black market, with the sole aim of controlling the city's underworld.
Rook, with his anti-hero reputation, had no love for the Cyber Rippers. Their ruthless tactics and indiscriminate violence were a stark contrast to his own code, which demanded justice, even if achieved through morally questionable means. As the Cyber Rippers tightened their grip on the city, Rook knew he had to act.
With the knowledge gleaned from Asimov's writings, he devised a plan to undermine the Cyber Rippers. He recognized that the gang's cohesion was built upon their shared dependency on stolen knowledge and body parts. Rook decided to exploit this weakness and strike at the heart of their operation.
Late one night, Rook infiltrated the Cyber Rippers' headquarters – a fortified warehouse where they stored their ill-gotten goods. Using his knowledge of robotics and cybernetics, he tampered with the gang's supply of memory downloads and mechanical body parts, ensuring that any new enhancements would malfunction.
As the Cyber Rippers began to suffer from the effects of Rook's sabotage, their unity crumbled. Members turned against each other, their trust in the gang's leadership shattered. Rook watched from the shadows as his plan unfolded, knowing that his actions had set the gang on a path of self-destruction.
In the end, the Cyber Rippers were no more, their members scattered and their criminal empire in ruins. Rook had achieved his goal, but he knew that the battle was far from over. There would always be others who sought to control the city, and he would be there to stand against them.
As the sun set on New Chicago, Rook disappeared into the shadows, his mechanical limbs carrying him into the darkness. A solitary figure, he continued his quest for justice, fueled by the knowledge he had gained and the code he lived by, forever walking the line between hero and anti-hero in a world where the distinction had long been blurred.

2023.03.22 15:58 LoretiTV Succession Season 4 (first 4 episodes) - Review Megathread

Metacritic - Universal Acclaim. Score 88
Rotten Tomatoes - Score 100%
Decider - "The first four episodes of Succession‘s final season are absolutely magnificent. Armstrong and his writers’ room finally let the metaphoric dominos they’ve been setting up for three seasons fall. The dialogue is as brutally sharp as ever and the ensemble cast pulls out some of their best, most devastating work yet. ... Succession Season 4 isn’t just good. It’s poised to handily sweep the 2023 Emmys." Score 100
Collider - "The core of what we find so fascinating about Succession is stronger than ever in Season 4. ... These are episodes that you won't want to miss, with moves that'll have you picking apart the Roy family dynamics week to week and dying to see who'll win the rat race to the top." Score 100
IGN - "The final season of Succession is one of the most anticipated television shows of 2023, and its first four episodes suggest it is not holding anything back. Powerhouse performances from the Roy clan offer a dazzling masterclass of buttoned-up emotions competing with years of desperately craving approval from the family patriarch. Each department behind the cast is at the top of its game, from regular Succession director Mark Mylod to composer Nicholas Britell. Swinging from comedy to drama helps keep the material fresh even when dealing with ongoing power struggles, and just when you think specific stories might become repetitive, something alters the course. If the rest of the season is as compelling, creator Jesse Armstrong’s choice to go out on top after this season will be the right one." Score 10/10
BBC - "All I can reveal without spoilers is that creator Jesse Armstrong has structured the season for maximum jaw-dropping effect. And that's just in the four episodes HBO made available to critics." Score 100
Empire - "Forget ‘boar on the floor’. Your jaw will be on the floor after watching this final season." Score 100
The Times UK - "Be assured, rugs are pulled, sharply, and you won’t be disappointed. Surprised, possibly, but not disappointed with the quality and the dark, dark humour." Score 100
Consequence - "The barbs sting as sharply as ever, while the drama escalates to the level one expects from not just a final season, but a final season of a show like this, one which has grown past its shaky early episodes to stand amongst the best series of the 21st century." Score 91
Entertainment Weekly - "Very important things happen, none of which would be right to spoil, but it's fair to say these events inform and propel the family's interactions in ways we have not seen before." Score 91
The Daily Beast - "There’s nothing particularly novel about Succession as it approaches the finish line, yet its stride is strong. ... The entire team is in top form, including Mark Mylod and his fellow directors, whose stewardship (all anxious handheld camerawork and charged snap zooms) is as sharp, rhythmic and volatile as the barb-laden writing." Score 90
Variety - "While the season takes a bit longer to catch fire than its predecessors, once the shady dealing begins in earnest, “Succession” is more intense than ever. And with the series finale in sight, the show has a full tank of gas and an 800-pound gorilla’s foot on the pedal. Better than ever doing business with you, Succession." Score 90
Rolling Stone - "Significant choices are made, by both the characters and the creative team, that cannot be taken back. It is full steam ahead to the end. Much of what happens is shocking and/or shockingly poignant, especially since it is a show about the absolute worst human beings alive. The one aspect that remains unsurprising is how incredibly funny the show is. ... Armstrong and company also continue to demonstrate a marvelously deft balance between the yuks and the tragedy of it all. ... It’s doing absolutely everything it wants to in the here and now." Score 90
SLANT - "There was never going to be a “winner” in the battle for the throne, the series has thrilled us with depictions of the extent to which the players lose in their quest. And as we approach the end, the Roy family’s journey toward self-destruction remains a darkly captivating spectacle." Score 88
The Hollywood Reporter - "Daniel Fienberg: I thought the season’s first two episodes were among the show’s weakest ever, which is to say, “Merely very good episodes of TV,” while I thought the two after that were possibly the best hours the show has ever done. Angie Han: I think I more or less agree. The first couple episodes — and the first episode in particular — feel very much like the table-setting episodes they are, and not among the show’s best table-setting episodes at that. But overall this batch has reminded me, simultaneously, of how sad I’ll be to see this series go, and how happy I am that it’s getting to go out on its own terms with a definitive ending." Score 80
The Guardian - "Everything we want and need is still here. ... The opening episodes of each season of Succession tend to subsume the family dynamic in the corporate intrigue, because there are always so many pieces not just to set up but to explain to a lay audience. This seems to have opted for a more equal balance." Score 80
The Telegraph - "We are no closer to knowing who will inherit the firm than we were at the start. With the end in sight, however, Succession is free to aim for the landing, and those of us who have been wishing the Roys would get a move on will not be disappointed – at least on the evidence of the first four episodes given to reviewers." Score 80
Chicago Tribune - "Succession is nothing if not consistent in terms of its level of quality as well as its flaws." Score 2.5/4 stars
Vanity Fair - "Just as Shakespeare and the Greeks tended to have something heavy to say about their ruinous and ruined royals, so too might Armstrong."
NPR - "Succession has always been a sharply written show, but there is a delicious restraint in this season that feels new."
Mashable - "As Kendall Roy would say, this season is "all bangers, all the time."

2023.03.22 15:57 jeremywater Discussion on staying in Taiwan vs moving to the US in your mid-20s

Hi All,
I'd like to ask for your opinion on the pros and cons of staying in Taipei, Taiwan versus moving to the US (major cities e.g. NYC, Chicago, Philly), especially for a mid-20s individual.
A bit of context: I grew up mostly in US/Western Europe, but moved to Taiwan during the Covid years and started working here at a 外商. Now that the Covid age is over, many people around me started leaving Taiwan for big cities in the US, though I haven't really been able to make up my mind. Below are some pros/cons I have thought of -
Pros of staying:
Cons of staying:
Pros of moving:
Cons of moving:
Please do note that the views above are, evidently, biased - though I'd love to learn about others' subjective views on this (i.e. feel free to tell me I'm wrong).
Thanks and have a great day!

2023.03.22 15:56 thinkofanamefast Does anyone know where to find Vix Futures Special settlement price from same day (this morning)?

Pardon me..."Special Opening Quotation" is the term. I'm actually asking for options I have, but same Wed. AM close as futures. I think I had read it prices at 2:15 AM Chicago time, which I assume has to do with Global trading hours on SPX, but I can't find that opening price except to look at Yahoo and Barchart overnight chart and estimate.
I know it has its own symbol VRO but CBOE site only has last Wednesday's number as of now. IBKR shows VIX open was 21.38, which is far from that Yahoo 2:15 CT AM number, so that must be regular trading hours open. Is it on some futures site maybe? Thanks.

Your health and your image are not the only things you can improve with our treatments. We are experts in beauty
Caring for and maintaining a good figure can sometimes be a little complicated, we live in a world that moves very fast, we have occupations and events that day by day take away the time to take care of our body as we would like.
It is evident that the most common reason why people do not take care of what they eat, is usually the lack of time, this is how people prefer to eat away from home, or being at home sometimes we prefer to ask for domiciles to avoid cooking or having to spend time to maintain a balanced diet in order to complete our daily tasks.
It is of great importance not to idealize the type of body we would like to have. Instead, we should think about what we would be willing to do to achieve the weight we feel good about. Neither should we fall into sacrifices, excessive diets or negative thoughts about our body, this can do us more emotional damage than not getting the figure we want.
That is why Elite Chicago Spa has devised a better way to achieve the weight you want without undergoing strenuous exercise routines, we also think of people who do not usually have the time to achieve it, with a single session of Coolsculpting Chicago, you will achieve impressive results, the best thing is that the sessions have a very short duration and you can return to work or your daily activities after performing them.
We are specialists in the art of sculpting your body. What is Coolsculpting in Chicago? This is a procedure performed for aesthetic purposes, in which cold is applied in order to freeze the fat cells through an applicator device, these cells are eliminated from the body naturally. It is necessary to clarify that Coolculpting Chicago il will help the body to reduce the volume in certain areas, especially where there is localized fat, it is often also called Cryolipolysis in Chicago.
Our Chicago Coolsculpting clinic implements this fairly new procedure which is a non-invasive and painless alternative to liposuction and is approved by the Foods and Drugs Administration (FDA).

2023.03.22 15:43 Ok-Tea273 What are foods you can keep in your room at room temperature?

I went to live with my parents months ago. Their house is a disaster. They have a rabbit that poops and pees in one spot in the living room and won’t clean it for days. Their cat was peeing and pooping in the only bathroom’s bathtub at one point where they would clean it up and now say he hasn’t done that in weeks (not too sure on this though). They let their white kitchen tiles turn solid grey before even thinking of cleaning it. They will also leave food out well over 4 hours before putting it in the fridge.
I’ve tried to clean and after doing that for so long, after leaving for a few weeks and coming back while sick, I didn’t clean for a week avoiding the common areas, but did my own dishes and ate my own food. I was told I clean less than them. Which is crazy because their version of cleaning is only wiping the kitchen counter and doing dishes, everything else they let pile up. I would deep clean as much as I could to sanitize the place before but now I’m burnt out.
I started buying my own food, but they will take things out of the fridge. Then they’ll forget to put it back in the fridge (to move things around with what they need I think) and this has included my food.
I’ve gotten sick 3 times with e. Coli. When bringing this up to them they had ‘no clue’ behind why I keep getting sick. When listing off anything that could possibly cause it in the house, they got mad at me for saying the house was dirty. Also even though I listed off things I know it most likely isn’t, like water when bringing up getting sick, they focused on one of the reasons it could be and tried saying I was blaming the animals pooping in the house. That I was in the wrong because I didn’t have a direct answer to what got me sick and that ‘the E. coli strand should determine what caused it’. So they want to wait on this.
I’ve also fainted, got a concussion by hitting my head on the wood floors. I was out for around a minute and afterwards had a hard time communicating with a full body sweat. They decided not to take me to the hospital because after an hour, I seemed ok. It was also late at night around 11pm when I fainted. I went to the doctor the next day and my primary doc is still following up with me on it. I could not drive the week following.
I have a hard time accepting their food at this point. They are stingy about anything that takes up power in my room, but will keep their tv on the entire day almost every day just to play pandora music. They also keep lights on intentionally when they go out of the house. This means a mini fridge is out of the question. They don’t want help with bills, even though I’ve offered multiple times, because they think I should save my money.
I also cannot move out right away. They offered to let me stay with them after I ended my engagement and lost my car in that relationship. I was going to try to move in with a friend but my parents insisted it would be better for me not to worry about rent while healing from my previous relationship. I trusted them on that. I know they meant well, I’ve been trying so hard not to complain because it’s the fact I think they mean well, but have no common sense on these issues. I even got them out of being beneficiaries in my insurance policies because I don’t think they’d know what to do if I ever got critically ill or died.
I’m used to everything being within walking distance throughout my life. They just moved to a more rural area after their kids grew up. So coming from that to having everything being a 20 minutes drive due to being in the mountains makes it hard to go anywhere without a car. I’ve been saving for a down payment, my credit was trashed during my previous relationship. I’ve been working on that but it’s been a slow process. So financing is out of the question.
While getting to the point where I can move out, does anyone know what food I can store in my room at room temperature that would be sufficient enough to live off of for the next couple of months or so?
