How does Visioothe Work?

VisiSoothe employs a natural strategy that goes at the source of vision problems. To rebuild and replace biological tissues, stem cells are naturally created. Additionally, the cells are in charge of restoring normal eye functions and vision. In order to function at the cellular level, VisiSoothe is mixed using a stem cell formula. The VisiSoothe nutrients encourage the generation of stem cells, which enhances eye health. Even those with macular degeneration who have stem cells in their eyes can regain vision.
Antioxidant-rich components in the supplement help to reduce inflammation. The antioxidants clear up fat buildup and blockages in the blood vessels. They also support the immune system’s defenses against poisons, germs, and viruses that might harm the eyes.

2023.03.27 06:52 FireyFrost34 First Chapter of my WIP - The Electric World. Help would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

The rapid clacking away on the keyboard filled the back of the van as the backlight shone on the young man’s face, his newest blog post about the ‘100 Year “Conflict”’ between the African Union and the United States of Expanded America filling the screen.
Their fierce arguments in the Neo-League of Allied Nations were the things of legend, as despite the uncompromising regulation of, ‘No Creative Abilities’, which included limiters, as they could be disguised, people swore that the Hall shook.

Sparing a few moments to refocus on the background radio, he shook his head at the protests and threats between New Russia and the Renewed French Republic regarding the Alliance of Free Nations.

His train of thought was rudely interrupted, but he pressed on.

Clickclackclickclackclickclack.

<Hey.>

Clickclackclickclackclickclackclickclackclickclackclickclack.

“What?”

“When I’m finished with this post, that’s when. And not a word less.”

Clickclackclickcla-.

He sighed and lifted his finger off the ‘y’ key, the trail of ‘y’s being automatically deleted by his Bio-Pal, or By, for short. Getting off his 3/4th king-sized bed as the screen and keyboard retracted into the ceiling and wall, he grabbed his beige ‘off-duty’ hat hanging next to his cameo reporting hat.

“Alright, By, where and for what are we going to today?”

“… Seriously. Bloomington, Indiana, for lunch or breakfast, depending on the menu; then Washington D.C for work, we have that assignment that’s due tomorrow. You know, May 21, 2020?”

Sliding the door open, he slid out from its hollow inside a folded red and black tri-motorcyle. As it turned on and unfolded from his hands touching the metal door handles, it revealed the floating two-seater, allowing him to enter. Grabbing the wheel while pressing two buttons, the roof covering rose and the EM Tesla Riders activated, one in the front and two in the back, gradually elevating them.
Simultaneously, Craig closed, locked, and shielded the 20-foot white van with a Spark of electricity that traveled from inside the ‘cycle and made contact with the van, another sent back as confirmation. As the GPS chose the quickest route out of New York City, he admired the skyscrapers.

“I still can’t get over the skyscrapers here… How ma-?”

“Yawn burgers with a side of snores, By. Just get us outta here. How long and which restaurant?”

<24 minutes and might I suggest Uptown Cafe?>

“Show me.’

The website was projected on the windshield in two tabs, one for the breakfast menu and the other for making reservations.

‘… Looks delish and easy on the budget. Reservation for 10:30, if you please, and get me the Malted Belgian Waffle with granola and hazelnut-flavored coffee.”

When they reached New York’s outer limits a few seconds later, By took them on a preapproved route to Kirkwood Ave., where they landed in an empty parking spot that quickly held the vehicle. Getting out, he went to the Cafe that was a minute away.

“Craig Williams.”

“Please follow me.”

Taking him to a table to the right of the bar, another waiter quickly came and gave him water, coffee, and milk. As she left, he glanced at the gold-covered bar dividing the room while sipping at the now-prepared coffee, grinning at the strange way his slightly tanned face was warped.

“Will ya lay off it, please? As I’ll remind you, it’s only because my mom’s ancestors escaped to America from those A.U jerks just 'cause they weren’t from the same tribe, while my dad was almost electrocuted, burned out, and genocided by the Nazis! Anyway, who are we meeting in Washington?”

“Right, right… Can’t believe I was one of the few that discovered who they really are… Remind me how I found and was able to remember them, again?”

“Only after an incessant mind- and body-draining interrogation that lasted for almost half an hour after I finished. I’m still surprised that they keep me in the loop about what they-, alright, alright, she keeps me in the loop. Anyway…”

His breakfast came with some coffee and after a few words of thanks, he began eating as By went through the facts of one J. Trakler.

Got into science in an R.F.R Elementary school after Io’s Rylu University said they were closer than ever to discovering the secret to F.T.L travel. In a specialized Middle School, he helped the Ney Collective on Neptune forcefully increase their crops growth and hardiness, while also kick-starting the research into the Saturnians’ recently implemented standard insertion process through the Saturnian Watch Program.
Coincidentally, he also started a life-long friendship with their CEO, who’s now the current Head of National Security in New Russia and the first Altered in a high position of power there. Craig, slow down.
In an elite High School in New Russia, he went to Neo France on Uranus on a student-swap with the now-Prime Minister of France, where they also struck up a life-long friendship during the ‘Port lay-over and the back-and-forth vi-com.
He’s now the Elite Omni-Scientist of the Middle East Scientific Alliance, or MESA for short. Williams? Please.
Their goal is-. LISTEN UP, YOU GLUTTONOUS HUMAN!!>

“GRR! By, this is one of the most delicious pancakes I’ve ever eaten, let me enjoy it! Anyway, this guy is the E.O.S of the MESA, and you were about to tell me their goal.”

<… So you were listening. You’ve gotten better at that. Anyway, their stated goal has been to help Rylu University with their goal of F.T.L travel, using Einstein’s, Tesla’s, and -ugh- Edison ‘The Amature’s, notes and prototypes.>

“What’s the trio’s history, again? Never mind, don’t tell me. So, how did this MESA come to pass, again? It was because of World War 2 and the Neo-Battlefield, right?”

“Isn’t that because everyone else is more focused on space and the so-called ‘bigger picture’?”

What MESA is also doing is giving the A.F.N resources to prevent an invasion from either France or New Russia, which certain parties from both sides are attempting to drum up.>

“Hmm… So, we have the Alliance of Free Nations and MESA on the one hand, the USEA and the AU on the other, and the Reformed French Republic and New Russia in the middle of all this, with one guy linking almost all of them together… Does this sound familiar to you?”

“It’s just a thought, By. Just a thought. Brunch is over; find me the fastest way to Capital Hill.”

Leaving a 45 Bolt tip then Sparking his payment at the front desk, he went back to his Tri while trying to not facepalm at the snarking Bio-Pal. Getting in while turning it on, he was quickly on his way.
As they landed in front of the Capital building, the man of the hour was briskly stepping down the steps, his Altered bodyguards bio-electrically holding everyone back and keeping a close, slitted eye on Craig as he dismounted the ‘cycle and made his way up the stairs.

“Mr. Trackler? Mr. Wi-.”

“Williams, ‘The Revealer’. Too many people here, so let me treat you to a drink.”

He stepped to the train track that ran in the middle of the street as a six-person pod was Sparked to his location, his bodyguards escorting Graig inside of it after quickly and almost unnoticeably searching him.

Before they knew it, they were seated in, The Electric Watering Hole, a bar just outside the city. Taking a sip of their drinks, they got comfortable.

“So, what does your current client, “The Scourge of Washington”, want with me now? The conspiracy theory about how I’m, ‘the Antichrist’, of Christian fame? Because, just to be clear, I’m not Jewish, European, or even Middle Eastern in any way, shape, or form.”

“No, no, sir. Although you are part French on your father’s side.”

“Which isn’t European.”

“… Right. Sir, I’m here to ask you about, ‘The Phoen-’.”

“Ah, yes, ‘T.P.P’. Don’t ask me about the acronym, wasn’t my idea. What do you want to know about it? Why we haven’t cracked Faster Than Light travel yet, or how I got things closer than ever with-?”

“Forgive me for interrupting, Sir, but what I was wondering was why focus on F.T.L, to begin with? With the upgraded GPS targeting program by Tesla Corp, everything, including organs, can be delivered practically into people’s and doctor’s hands.
Which reminds me that this is the hundred-and-twentieth year since the second anniversary of, ‘The Upheaval Years’, when the energy, vehicle, and medicinal industries disappeared, grocery stores vanished, and dozens of other fields went extinct with the inventions and discovery of Bio-Pal, E.T.F, and the Earth’s A.E.F, respectively. Thoughts?”

“To the idiots who are still trying to get, “Emotional Damage Money”: Why don’t you go back in time to stop mining and oil companies, teleportation operators, and maybe even timekeeping and metallic wire companies from-?!”

“Sir?”

“Forgive me, I get… passionate.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ve heard of the accidents on the gas planets where people had to be euthanized after the teleportation negatively reacted with their atmospheres and how I solved the situation. Don’t worry, I won’t go into the science.”

“Thank you. So, you’re trying to solve F.T.L because of health and technological considerations, right?”

“Right. There’s also the possibility of someone discovering another element that might have negative reactions to our electricity, and thus it would be safer and easier to use faster than light travel.”

“True, true. Where did-?”

Trackler’s By alerted him to an upcoming meeting, after which he shook William’s hand, paid for the barely drunk drinks and untouched appetizers with a Spark, and left. Taking the food and his drink, Craig went outside as the pod was turning to it’s left, further away from the city. Hailing another pod, he goes back to his cycle, gets in, and flies home.

Putting away the food and drink, he lays on his bed and starts typing the report for the, ‘Magnetic Broom’, getting to the point where he seamlessly transitioned into a review for the restaurant when they entered, then seamlessly transitioned back out when they were seated. He first sent the review to local and nation-wide Edisons, waited till he got paid, deleted the review, then sent the article to the ‘M.B’.

Going to the half-sized fridge in the middle of the van, he retrieved his drink and sipped it while leaning on the van door.

“How does 384 Bolts for a restaurant review a week sound?”

While he puts away his drink, “Isn’t that where-? Trackler’s being attacked. Safely ‘Port me there, By.”

<One time. You accidentally do it one time…>

He shows up behind cover, rather dizzy, as three guys and a lady are attempting to overload Trackler’s Bio-Energy, his bodyguards and the rest of the people in the conference room serving as unwilling Amplifiers.

“I’ll-ugh- f-f-figure it o-hurk, gulp!- out as I go! Isn’t t-that-urk!- how t-the bra-uuhhh- b-b-brain works best under-?!”

At that instant, a sense of clarity came over him, allowing him to roll away from the copper planters and deliver a powerful shock to the nigh-attacking person through their ankle, leaving behind a black hand print and one very dead woman.

Dodging more electric blows from the mysterious group’s lookout, he diverted the worse of the current and absorbed the rest while blocking and dodging, building up a brutal counterattack. When they unwittingly attracted a floating lightbulb to their right hand, Graig quickly unleashed the counterattack directly at it, exploding and melting it while leaving a lightning pattern on their scorched arm.
This also lead to a boost in the group’s attack, temporarily overloading and blinding them, both of which their Bys’ tried to circumvent and suppress. At that exact moment, the police arrived and took them down simultaneously.

A single nod, and he was gone, leaving no trace of his existence except a puzzled Trackler.

Back in the front of the van, he was kneeling over the toilet, vomiting while his Bio-Electricity was out of control, sending bolts all over the place. After he finished, he weakly crawled to his bed and partially got in.

Ugh, that’s… No… Even worse.”

T-thanks…

He was out like a light.

2023.03.27 05:01 unrulybeep My Two Tabbies: Mel and Emma

My Two Tabbies: Mel and Emma
I am the foster guardian (soon to be furever human) for two (2) tabby cats. They were once feral kittens. A kind person in the area decided to feed them, and eventually the ACP was able to trap-neuter-release (TNR). One of the Alley Cat Project's goal is to "Socialize semi-friendly kittens and cats so they can be adopted as pets". Since Emma and Mel were sweet, though shy, ACP decided to try and find them a furever home.
Mel's sad eyes captivated me.
Original adoption description from Petfinder.com:
We are sisters who are currently about 1 ½ years old. We have had a lot of ups and downs in our lives already. When we were first born we were living outside with our mother who was a feral cat in the Northgate area in Seattle in the summer of 2021. A lady was kind enough to put food out for us, when we were found and then fostered by a family. We slowly warmed up to people but have always been shy, and were adopted by a man who loved us in the winter of 2021. We bonded with our new owner and were greatly loved. Sadly, our owner passed away from natural causes a couple of months ago. We are back in foster case and have taken time to warm up to new people as we are shy. We do still sometimes hiss when we see a person the first time, but allow our foster mom to pet us if she also brings food. We are treat motivated once we settle in. We purr for our foster mom’s son who is 11 years old, but not our foster mom, yet.
Emma is the brave sister.
How It Started
I love TV shows about animals, so it was no surprise that I loved "My Cat From Hell" on AnimalPlanet. Jackson Galaxy's approach to cat rehabilitation was right up my alley. I felt skeptical watching the likes of the Dog Whisperer and his perpetuation of the alpha dog/pack mentality. Victoria Stillwell was much more my cup of tea with her positive-reinforcement approach, and Jackson's practice was in the same vein-only with cats.
In the later seasons of "My Cat From Hell" Jackson started working with community cats and I felt something take root inside of me. I decided to check out his website and see what organizations Jackson works with, which lead me to Alley Cat Allies[1], and then to the Alley Cat Project.
I first offered to be a foster guardian for kittens, as I thought I could use the sarotonin boost to help with my mental health and also help some feral kittens find furever homes. In the process, I came across Mel & Emma. I felt an instant connection when I read their story as my background is full of tragedy and instability, as well. I thought the three of us could be a cozy little family, so I wrote into ACP to ask about adopting them.
Since I was new to fostering former feral cats, though, the ACP wanted to start with fostering and then build up to adoption. The organization's support as I was learning the ins and outs of socializing cats has been invaluable. If you are interested in doing see, feel free to donate to ACP as they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

2023.03.27 04:54 StatisticianChoice87 Anybody care to share any TJ Tower experiences?

So I recently went to look at a unit at Thomas Jefferson Tower through rent monster and I won't lie, I love the look of the apartment. I actually liked it so much that I applied for a unit there and was approved. With that said I have since review some of the reviews on google as well as researched how they handle things like utilities and maintenance and I will say there are some red flags. With that said, is anybody in here a recent or former tenant within the last year or so? I know it's not perfect but I don't expect any complex to be. What I would like to know is is there anyone who is/has lived there who feels the pros outweigh the cons considering they're offering seemingly reasonable rates for the location? my main concern are 1) the price of parking. They're charging $150 for parking in a less than ideal parking lot but I heard I may be able to omit that charge and find parking elsewhere. Not sure though. 2) utilities. Hears they basically add up the total electric bill for the entire place including the restaurant and ballroom and split it between residents. I'm just wondering if anyone who has stayed there knows what water and electric come out to on average. if its not much higher that what I'd expect from the water & power then its not a big deal. 3) responsiveness of maintenance. This is a big one and from reviews seems like they may be kind of slow with repairs. I hear word that they're supposed to be changing ownership but that management is supposed to be H2 and I know their reputation isn't the best but I don't know if that's across the board. Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

2023.03.27 04:42 blury_come_clean 32 [F4M] Midwest/USA/Anywhere- I’m just a passionate introvert who’s tired of searching this crazy place for a compatible match. But I refuse to give up

serious note I’m interested only in meeting men that live in the US And I will NOT respond to any messages without a photo. I also want to be up front and honest that I am a plus size woman even though I don’t necessarily look it in my photo but I am. Just wanted to be open and honest about that since I know not every guy out there is into bigger women.
Hello :) my name is Kara. I do want to seriously say that I am looking for a serious relationship that’s monogamous. I honestly don’t believe In marriage though cause a piece of paper shouldn’t hold any value towards your love and commitment for your partner and also people change over time so I’d rather avoid that mess and drama altogether and just enjoy a stable happy relationship that’s based more on trust, respect, love, responsibility and reciprocation. Both sides always need to put in effort to make any lasting relationship work out in the long run And that’s the type of person I’d want to be with. I want someone to make me laugh whole Heartedly and make me smile not just cause they make me happy but they enjoy seeing me happy. I’ll admit that I’ve been single for quite a long time, it’s been 13 years since I last had a real relationship and was the first and last Time I was in love. im open to finding a compatible partner to fall in love with but i definitely dont fall easily and not just any type of person will fit my standards.
So, about me. The things that make me smile the most are animals, heavy metal music, peaceful nature landscapes, deep meaningful conversations where there’s mutual emotional and mental connection
Things that make me laugh the most are South Park, a random YouTube channel I watch that involves vulgar puppets, inappropriate words/drawings on random things that make said object appear more obscene than it is
I’m mostly a very friendly, chill person with a passion for traveling and animals along with enjoying doing my own thing. I’m not much of a follower, I prefer to walk my own path and indulge in my own hobbies and interests. I’d love to find others on here who enjoy doing that as well.I’m also a big fan of horror movies. If you’re also really into horror movies then that would be a big plus for me. I do prefer to connect with others who also enjoy horror movies. It unfortunately is disappointing to me if you’re not real into horror movies and I’ll be honest, not being into them or being open to them is a dealbreaker.
I won’t go into too many details on what I look for in a relationship but I do want to briefly state that I’m not the casual hook up type. If you’re into that then that’s cool, you do you. But that’s not for me and it never will be. I’d be most compatible with someone who also prefers something serious and long term. Someone who is honest, hard working, sincere, genuine, funny, emotionally intelligent, patient & considerate,is introspective, along with being physically affectionate , and loves animals as much as I do. I’m definitely not the religious type since I’m agnostic and I don’t ever want kids either. I don’t do drugs either so again, if you do them then that’s your choice. I won’t judge you but drug use is a deal breaker for me unless it’s occasional pot use for medicinal purposes. As a whole, I definitely seek a partner that will make me smile, make me laugh, support me, respect me and shares some of my values and beliefs. I know no one can tick off all of my boxes cause no one is a perfect fantasy. I just want you to tick off enough to where there’s enough chemistry to make a healthy long lasting relationship.
So yeah, that’s what I’m aiming for :) if I sound like we’d click well and hit it off then feel free to reach out. But I’d prefer you to do so if you have intentions of wanting to keep in touch. If all you message me with is “hi/hey how are you doing/how’s your weekend” I won’t respond cause I’m not here for small chit chat or lazy messages. I know ghosting is normalized in society and we all have our reasons for choosing that. I’m just not here to waste time or find a casual connection. That’s just not me. I also don’t mind a long distance relationship if we happen to hit it off well enough and I’d like to find someone who is open to that is well and would want to put in actual effort with communication and eventually meeting up in person.
Here’s a photo of me :) https://imgur.com/a/RISvYfo
If you message me, please include a photo of yourself. I really do want to see the person I’m interacting with.If you don’t send a picture, then I won’t respond to you. And physical attraction is definitely a must for me when it comes to relationships. I don’t expect you to look like a celebrity or a Greek god but I definitely am most attracted to a masculine, clean shaven (beards are a turn off for me, baldness/balding is also a turn off) looking face & a healthy body that’s just fit and can tell that a person cares about their health and how they look.First impressions matter a whole lot to me as well, I don’t particularly like when a guy comes on too strongly or comes across as too desperate. That’s all. And also I’m only interested in forming connections within the 24-36 age group. We’re probably more likely to have things in common that way. When it comes to the younger crowds in their mid 20s, I can vibe with them well but only if they’re mature for their age and can hold deep conversations on various topics and at least have some confidence in their social abilities.
also want to list a few dealbreakers cause I do know what I want and what I don’t want. Mainly my biggest deal breakers are if you want/already have kids, don’t want true commitment, have an immature/low confidence attitude, being condescending, being too cold/detached/lack empathy and understanding, and not liking animals. If you have an adorable dog then I’ll melt and be more than happy to gush over pics of them :) I truly wish I could have a dog but sadly I can’t have one. Also, I want to openly say that not having enough of your life together is a dealbreaker. By that I mean if you just have too much going on such as drama or are a workaholic. I do understand how a job you’re passionate about can be a big part of your life but I don’t want someone who prioritizes their work over a relationship. I just want someone who can strike a balance with work and friends and being a partner. That’s all I ask for.

2023.03.27 03:49 ALR24601 Sweeney Todd Revival Review - Fri, 3/24/23

Happy opening to Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street this evening! I attended the tale this past Friday evening and felt compelled to share my thoughts in addition to the opening night hype this evening.
On March, 1, 1979, the world was shocked by Sweeney Todd. With this being the 3rd revival on Broadway since it's original conception, there are both age old and brand new expectations that theatregoers are expecting that contrast the initial conception. No longer are we being introduced to a new production that has to prove it's worth to a new audience - people love this show. As a professional musician, I speak for many that pinnacle this the "magnum opus" of Stephen Sondheim - his greatest work. Musically, this brilliant score now has inspired 44 years worth of musicians, actors, and directors. This performance somehow shattered any preconceived notion of expectations I had going in or reviews I had read online. While I will showcase multiple perspectives, the vocal/musical performance will remain the primary focus.
Vocal Performance
Wow. Every singer on stage is incredible. Outstanding vocal performances from every soloist, duet, trio, quartet, and ensemble member.
The chorus/company ensemble is phenomenal. The diction is so clear that you can laugh, cry, scream because you hear every cutoff to every syllable. They carry this show on their back and love what they are doing. Every time they are on stage, you want more of them. Sopranos are in tune on the crazy high melodies and each soloist is great. They achieved such a balanced sound - I was so impressed. 10/10.
Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd) will get his own review, but Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett) sounded great. There are only a few times when Mrs. Lovett isn't supplying comedy in her vocal lines. These moments Ashford sounded so damn great. Specifically in "Worst Pies" and "Not While I'm Around", she gave an outstanding vocal performance that had charm, great tone, and was perfectly in tune.
I was so proud of Gaten Matarazzo (Toby) !!!! His voice sounds so good!!! His instrument is really starting to blossom. I believe he can start to slay dark tenor roles because he can confidently sing in his in chest and throughout the top register!! He is not straining at all and he sounds so healthy in his voice. 9/10
Maria Bilbao (Johanna), Nicholas Christopher (Pirelli), and Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman) are my honorable mentions for being so great!!!! Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin) sounded so similar to the OBC rendition that it was nostalgic. 10/10
I personally thought Jordan Fisher did a solid job as Anthony. For really only responsible for "Johanna", he did well. There were moments he sounded relaxed, free, and outstanding in the song. At times, he was out of tune and popped out of placement. A few inconsistencies across the performance but I liked it alot. My girlfriend and best friend who saw it with me agreed he was the most lacking vocalist of the evening. 8/10
Josh Groban's Vocal Performance - 10/10
Oh my god - the most anticipated feeling for this whole revival was for Josh Groban. I value Groban's vocal technique, timbre, and performance style so much that I showcase him constantly to my vocal students. In February 2023, I read the Playbill.com interview where he acknowledging not being the typical choice for Sweeney as an actor, but I knew he could sing the shit out of it. I never doubted his ability to sing the title character of Sweeney Todd and neither should you. Being one of the most iconic baritone roles in the contemporary musical theatre canon, I wasn't worried about Groban being able to access both the low and high registers that the role calls for. He has mastered in his tone a constant body of warmth and a balanced resonance. He approached every single melody with intention, a great breath, and a proper onset. I wasn't scared for his vocal folds during the chaotic moments because he's Josh Groban.
I knew he would slay tf outta "My Friends" and holy fuck did he. One of my favorite songs in the whole score and it was absolutely gorgeous. The line, "well I've come home" on the Db 4 was just outstanding. Anytime he was in this part of the voice (C-Eb) throughout the show, it seemed so effortless that you could truly be entranced by his voice. What was so beautifully to hear was the start, "These are my friends, see how they glisten." That was just melted butter over the audience. Warm, connected, smooth every time; his vibrato grew over the barline so well that I my mouth dropped. His placement was just perfect for the role - he really did it justice to what the role calls for in the score. This number is also one of the first moments we hear Sweeney sing solo for multiple bars since it happens early in Act I and I was in heaven. All graduate level baritones should listen to his rendition.
His voice never sounded tired or flat throughout the show. He portrayed Sweeney with a paced energy that had a natural eben flow to it. I appreciated that as a vocalist audience member.
Acting Performance
Overall, acting was outstanding. The dark comedy was hilarious. The tragedy was believable. Annaleigh Ashford is in her prime. She absolutely knocked this role out of the park. She was so funny and comedic that she deserves a Tony. I personally felt she had bigger shoes to fill with Lansbury than Groban did to Cariou (OBC). I had high expectations for the role and found to love her choices. The way she adds intimacy and sexuality to the role is refreshing and new. It really worked in terms of breaking the mold and not comparing it to Lansbury. It felt original and I loved it. Her physicality in "Worst Pies" and "A Little Priest" made the whole audience laugh and I applauded for her so loud afterwards.
Groban takes a more genuine approach that makes you feel bad for Sweeney Todd overall. I personally thought it really worked. When the role called for chaos and crazy he definitely gave it. But so often it doesn't - he is confused, questioning, and trying to understanding context too. Since I loved his vocal performance so much, I didn't need it to be crazy all the time. He really played with these themes/emotions throughout scenes and I liked that over crazy. His rendition "Epiphany" offers more voice over actions and I didn't mind it. Could have it been more insane physically and vocally? Sure, but you could understand that his mind cracked on stage in his choices. He absolutely slayed "A Little Priest" as he was funny and serious in his plan for revenge so I felt it was a nice balance. Ashford and Groban's chemistry develop so great over the plot. It was constantly sad and funny. 10/10.
Everyone else is so great too. 9.5/10
Choreo Performance
omg - they added new dance moments to some scenes and it was so great!!! It really added to the overall theatrical experience. The opening number has such a cool combo that they deserve a S/O.
Tech/Theatrical Performance
Whoever's idea it was for how Act I and II end deserves a Tony. Spoiler: the way the lights go out dramatically on both Groban and Ashford gives you no other option than to thunderously applaud.
The bridge set is awesome and really works from my MEZZ Balacony view. It really was quite minimal since the music is the main focus and I liked that. A real S/O is when Sweeney got his real barber chair. The was such a beautiful moment and I loved the crane. Also, anytime the razor was out, it would glisten towards the audience, almost playing a role itself. I loved that. Anything with blood was done super well. A woman behind me audibly gasped during the "Act II Sequence" when the real work of Sweeney starts. S/O to the fire oven and the harmonium - they are so cool and mesmerizing to watch.
Mics and sound production were great. Not too loud and no dropped lines. Bartenders are on it. Buy any souvenir you want because they are cool. The pit orchestra carries the score and sounds incredible. Big and full sound with an appreciation towards the slow and low moments. HOT TAKE: They got rid of the glass whistle sound which, honestly, is okay with me. We get it - it's a thriller. We don't need to hear the squealing after every murder anymore.
Overall Review
If you have admired this show for years, like I have, you need to see this show. If you loved Josh Groban's voice for years, you need to see him in this role in his prime. (He has recovered from this Mid-March sickness). If you are able to travel to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, you need to see this show. There is minimal wrong with this revival. The plot is digestible and more approachable than the original. Those who are going in blind have a solid chance of understanding the plot. For example, I believe a verse is cut from "Johanna" to have some dialogue exchange some plot. I noticed that a lot throughout the show and it felt refreshing to watch. Old expectation were met with creating new memories - signs of wonderful directing.

Of course, there are no perfect shows, but this is a near perfect rendition of how musically Sweeney Todd should be done. The leading/supporting roles are so dramatic, advanced, and challenging to achieve; everyone is seriously so qualified to do this show.
Overall Production: 9.5/10 - go see Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street NOW*.*

2023.03.27 01:24 tarvolon Tarvolon Reads a Magazine (or Three): Reviews of Clarkesworld, GigaNotoSaurus, and F&SF (March 2023)

In January, I started a new series, which I hope to continue all year, in which I read and review sci-fi/fantasy magazines. I’ve settled on three publications to follow this year: my two favorites from 2022 and a third that has been a titan of the genre for decades. I’ve yet to have a month without at least three stories I really loved among these three publications, and March was no different. So let’s get to it.

Clarkesworld

In my eyes, the March issue of Clarkesworld was something close to their median issue: one story I loved, a bunch of stories I liked, and one story that didn’t totally click for me. Issues like this don’t have me struggling to pick a favorite, but with so much to like, they’re exactly the sort of months that keep me a loyal reader. And I suppose it doesn’t hurt that my favorite story in the March issue was my favorite Clarkesworld piece of the first quarter of 2023.
The opening piece, Love in the Season of New Dance by Bo Balder, promised just the kind of alien communication story that I usually love. But while the lead’s cicada-like interlocutor’s obsession with completing the mating ritual before death may be realistic, it wasn’t necessarily the storyline I was hoping for. In fairness, I’m not sure the lead was hoping for it either, and there’s an interesting story to be found in her trying to make the best of an observation much more intimate than expected, but I nevertheless found it difficult to connect.
Angela Liu’s Pinocchio Photography blends the story of a college student trying to choose a career—amidst both social and parental pressures—with an exploration of pictures and memory. They come together in the form of a job photographing reanimated cadavers participating in those family moments they no longer lived to see. The narrative was enough to hold my interest, but it was the fascinating discussion of family and benevolent fictions that really made it worth the read.
Fiona Moore’s The Spoil Heap is an excellent tale of a former coder finding a robot on a trash heap after a technological apocalypse sent society back decades. Extensive flashbacks establish the character’s pre-apocalyptic life, informing both the catastrophe itself and the lead’s response to her present-day find. Probably not a story that will shock veteran readers, but it’s well-executed and a lot of fun.
The issue’s sole novelette, Shari Paul’s Bek, Ascendent, tells the story of a woman who until recently thought herself the lone survivor of her people’s destruction being sent to support their resettlement and finding herself thrown in with old friends and old enemies. It’s a short novelette that neither surprises with the twists nor fully explores all the nuances of the sprawling empire taking charge of smaller people groups recovering from disaster—though it does gesture at more going on under the surface—but it’s a plenty engaging read nonetheless.
Shih-Li Kow’s Failure to Convert takes up the story of clones who must jump through hoop after hoop after hoop to earn the recognition of legal personhood, in a society becoming increasingly prejudiced against them. It’s a well-written and often chilling piece that offers more questions than answers.
My favorite piece in my issue, and my favorite Clarkesworld piece of the year so far, came from an outstanding new writer who appeared thrice on my 2022 favorites list and is already starting on 2023. Isabel J. Kim’s Zeta-Epsilon is a heartfelt piece about a man raised from birth to provide a human bridge to the ineffable mind of a starship. It opens with a puzzle box—why did Zeta commit suicide, and why didn’t Epsilon prevent it?—before diving into Zeta’s childhood, his intense connection with the ship, and the aspects of his life that became untenable. It’s a fascinating story with emotional depth and even a pinch of humor. This one is the whole package.
After the intensity of “Zeta-Epsilon,” the next story continues the AI theme with a little more levity. Louise Hughes’ AI Aboard the Golden Parrot tells of a sentient theme park pirate ship that has taken to the seas collecting robot castaways. There’s still some tension in their mission to rescue imprisoned drones, and the details turn into a bit of a whirlwind at time, but it’s a fun read all told.
The fiction section of the March issue closes with perhaps the most mind-bending piece in the set, Love is a Process of Unbecoming by Jonathan Kincade. The dreamlike narrative is told mostly from the perspective of an organism that has infected and perhaps possessed the human who would ordinarily be considered the main character. It starts as a tense survival story from an upside-down angle, with the perspective then widening to glimpse the family struggles that have led to the story’s main action. Utterly disorienting but skillfully told, I suspect this story would reward a second read.
March’s non-fiction section opens with a dive into the parallels between certain real-world plants and famous fiction landscapes, such as The Book of Koli, Annihilation, and Semiosis. The two interviews are with Nadia Afifi and the people behind Galactic Journey—a fanzine I’d heard of but didn’t know much about. I have to say, I love their concept, and I also love a pair of R.A. Lafferty stories appearing as honorable mentions on their 1960s Best of the Year posts.
Finally, Neil Clarke closes with an editorial on the difficulty of surviving as a genre magazine—particularly in light of Amazon’s decision to end their subscription program—and the decisions Clarkesworld is making in an effort to move forward as sustainably as possible.

GigaNotoSaurus

GigaNotoSaurus rings in the month with what will be among their shortest pieces of the year, Once Measured, Twice Cut by Anna Martino, in which a half-human pharmacist in post-war England does his best to help both his human and his secret winged patients. It’s easy to read and immensely satisfying for readers who enjoy fantasy healers just trying to help people. Perhaps it all comes together a hair too neatly, but I was still happy to read it.

Fantasy & Science Fiction

After the January/February issue overwhelmed me with extended pieces tied to existing SFF universes, the March/April issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction was a breath of fresh air. The sixteen stories included just two novelettes and no novellas, and while a couple were situated within existing mythologies, this didn’t provide a true barrier to entry.
Let’s start with the pair of excellent novelettes, both of which brought their fair share of whimsy. Peter S. Beagle’s The Weremouse of Millicent Bradley Middle School has something of the flavor of an urban legend becoming all too real, with a witchy and vindictive math teacher terrorizing her students, who must either grovel or find a way to fight back. Sometimes a story just doesn’t have to break new ground to be an utter delight. Also delightful is Eleanor Arnason’s Mr. Catt, telling of the adventures of a six-foot, bipedal feline—in a world mostly consisting of ordinary humans, mind you—who decides on a whim to acquire a dragon. As you might imagine, things don’t go quite as expected, but they go wrong in an extremely entertaining way.
Circling back to the start of the issue, we find two short stories by authors I’d enjoyed immensely in longform and was excited to see here. Lavie Tidhar’s The Station Master offers an entertaining bit of slice-of-life in his Central Station universe, whereas Tade Thompson’s The Sweet in the Empty provides a heart-pounding tale of family and revenge in a fantastical long-ago Arabia. I’m not usually a reader of sword-and-sorcery, but I expect those who are will like this one even more than I did—which was quite a bit!
Continuing the theme of classic fantasy stories well-executed is Jonathan Louis Duckworth’s Spookman, the story of a man who can see spirits of the dead on a mission to find a runaway in a haunted forest. A fun read with an eminently satisfying conclusion.
Switching from fantasy to sci-fi, we find my favorite short story in the issue: M.H. Ayinde’s Piggyback Girl. The Black Mirror-like premise involves an influencer signing a contract allowing her followers to literally see through her eyes. The piece does demand that readers overlook the utter lack of genre-savvy by the lead character, but the sheer intensity of what comes afterward makes up for the credulity in signing the initial contract. The social commentary is on point, and the rising panic as the lead begins to see the walls rising on all sides makes for a truly gripping read.
The latter half of the issue didn’t blow me away quite like the first half, but I still found a lot to enjoy. There were a pair of looping, twisting sci-fi tales that have both reader and characters questioning what’s real. Matthew Lebowitz’s Ouroboros—about a scientist researching technology that can bring dreams to life—was a particular favorite, and Marlon Ortiz’s Mnemonic Longings was a solid tale of a sentient spaceship processing its relationship with the only human to survive a devastating extraterrestrial conflict.
Moonlight, Wing-Wake in Fog by Rick Hollon literalizes the concept of masking one’s true self from the world, telling of a group of shapeshifters trying to keep themselves safe from implacable colonizers bent on their destruction. It’s followed by Nuzo Onoh’s “The Madding,” which should appeal to readers who like some African folklore in their horror.
Amanda Dier’s Escape Velocity is a small-scale, personal tale about the transformations one undergoes while chasing their dreams, and how they live with those transformations. It’s followed by Lauren Bajek’s prose poem Pantoum on a Generation Ship, a flash piece whose title is a wonderfully clever play on the ultimate story. I have seen other reviewers marvel at the story for following the stringent repetition structure of the Pantoum style of poetry, but as someone unfamiliar with the form, the specifics passed me by. Still, a piece well worth reading!
Marie Vibbert’s The Subway Algorithm is Half-Constructed follows grad students talking about AI projects, but it’s much more a story of learning how to interact with other people—a subject in which every major character has their own struggles. K.C. Ahia’s Solar Boy also follows a lead with a fresh STEM degree, this time an engineer scrabbling for one of the scarce jobs working on spaceships. It’s not a hard read, but it’s simultaneously a story of trans belonging, a problem-solving sci-fi, and a story of intrigue and betrayal. For a piece as short as it is, it felt to me a hair overstuffed, and I would’ve appreciated just one or two of those elements having more time to breathe.
The issue closes with a pair of fun mythopoetic stories. Kathleen Jennings’ The Five Lazy Sisters is a fairy tale about…well, five lazy sisters looking for a way out of running a ferry for their whole lives. Then E. Catherine Tobler caps the issue with Remembered Salt, about a bewitched house flying up from its forest home and seeking adventure and pieces of memory. For readers who enjoy short fairy tales without too much emotional intensity, it’s an excellent pair to finish the issue.
As always, F&SF also has poetry and reviews, and this month had a fascinating dive by Arley Song into beloved genre magazines throughout history and what became of them. It’s a good read on its own and dovetails especially nicely with Clarke’s editorial.

2023.03.26 21:48 DrawingCharacter2316 Haunted DS game

Ok, the very thing I’m about to tell you may sound fake, dear reader. Despite that, I can assure you that this is very real.
For context, I’m 23, I live alone and this might not sound very surprising but I’m a bit of a nerd.
I dropped out of college due to personal reasons and since then I’ve been steadily building up a collection of DS games. From Diddy Kong Racing to the much harder to find Shepherd's Crossing. I’ve sunk a lot of time and money into this. Back to the main point, recently I’ve started using Ebay, as the local thrift stores inventories have been lacking to say the very least. Most of what I’ve purchased from there have all been in great condition, it’s something I’d recommend if you’re a collector like myself.
However, things took a turn for the bizarre. As per usual, around a few times a week I get a knock on the door, thank the mailman and retreat back into my cozy little sanctuary.
(Edit: *Mailcarrier. Because god forbid the mailman ISN’T a male man.)
I ordered “M&M’s Break ‘Em” , a forgettable yet guilty pleasure of mine.
When I finally opened up the box there was a note “Thanks for Purchasing from so and so” (I have no interest in giving them any recognition after what happened.) Underneath was the case, clearly resealed with tape and a bonus “Grab Bag” of other games I’m assuming they needed to get rid of.
I peeled the tape off of the case carefully and there wasn’t anything inside. Great. $22 (Plus a hefty and unforgiving shipping fee) for nothing. I tossed it aside and impatiently sifted through the bag. Many of the games were broken. Some of them I already had. One cartridge caught my eye. It was white with no label except for residue from the sticker that was once on it before. I swallowed my pride and loaded it into my DS.
I was greeted with a bubble “Please Enter Password.” I didn’t know that you could password protect games but it isn’t completely unheard of. I tried the easy stuff first: 123, 246, 369 etc. etc. Then, other combinations: 111, 222 and so on.
666 seemed to work. I don’t know what edgelord figured that it absolutely needed a password but whatever. There was a loading screen that seemed to go on for what felt like ages when the menu finally loaded. “The Adventures of Rap Boy and..” the rest of the title didn’t fit on-screen. That’s.. Weird. I’ve never heard of this. In the background a rapid beat started to play. Its so familiar. I decided to check the save files, nothing.
I started a new game, put a fake name because I don’t feel comfortable letting tech companies know about me, its almost technophobic in a way.
(Edit: Before you get pissy with my choice of words AGAIN, its a real condition that I’ve talked about with my therapist before. I’m working through it one step at a time.)
I chose something a little stupid that I always go with “Fartbu-” It would be bubble but there was a text limit. Another loading screen but this time it was in the style of the Batman transitions. A womanly sounding voice spoke urgently “Fartbu, I need your help! Someone took my purse!” Lol. Sweet. Anyways, instructions scrolled by too quick for me to read them and I was immediately thrown into game. I got it. I’m playing some weird Batman ripoff.
The controls didn’t work very well and I’d clip through the ground a lot. I was running through a city with a yellowy tint overlay. The type of yellow you’d see on a chain-smoking single middle aged womans living room walls. It almost looked like a GTA clone. There was one objective thus far: Return the womans stolen purse.
Cars sped by, items being thrown at my character. I took varying levels of damage but no purse to be seen. It seemed really unfinished. Eventually I clipped into an alleyway where lo and behold, there was an item I could obtain. It didn’t look like the rest of the game in the way that it was lower in quality, pixelated, while the rest of the game looked more akin to the iCarly game that I was much more accustomed to over the years. This. This was uncanny valley if I’ve ever seen it. As soon as I clicked on it, I was shown “Mission Completed” along with my score. It flickered between 20-40 points. I continued on.
There was a cutscene where my character was rewarded with a shiny golden medallion for his good samaritinship. Suddenly my screen went completely black. It restarted but this time I got the Health and Safety warning. I decided to take a break because I had spent nearly all day tinkering with the faulty controls. When I looked out my window it was already dark outside. I tossed my DS aside and went to bed.
When I woke up I decided to use my laptop, checking my emails and such when I realized an unknown senders messages flooded my inbox. Annoyed, I deleted the spam. I remembered, the game. I went onto Ebay to leave a review but the seller’s page was gone. So were my confirmation emails so I couldn’t go back and check to see if maybe they had any contact information. They screwed me out of my game but its fine.
There’s the daily knock on the door. I put on my slippers and dragged myself to the door where I looked through the peephole, nothing. I opened the door enough so that the door chain would keep the space between me and the outdoors small. No package either. I must’ve been hearing things. I checked back on the game but when I once again started it up, there was another password. It had changed. I tried my previous attempts and got it eventually. Everything that happened yesterday happened again. Loading screen and Menu. The music this time did not play and there was no title. It must’ve gone through some kind of error to completely reset it. My previous and uneventful playthrough did not save. But there was something waiting for me in my save files. An untitled game that seemed to have more progress than I had made. I decided to load it up. “Are you sure you want to load this save?” Yes. I’m sure, DS.
This time the mission was a little more complicated. Even a little different from your typical Nintendo game. I had to resolve some sort of conflict that had resulted in a shootout. The screen loaded more slowly this time. The music suddenly startled me. It was distorted and quite frankly made me a little nervous. The woman called out for help once again but she sounded strange..
I ignored it and went through with my mission. The same city, same cars and same shitty mechanics. I arrived to the spot the game had been not so subtly guiding me towards. These pixel people were throwing banana peels and other fruit. It was fucking stupid but I clipped through the ground and started a cutscene. The screen flashed red and white to simulate taking damage but by the end of it they were all defeated.
Another award ceremony but this time, I could make out my characters face. Is that… Eminem?? I pieced it together. An Eminem DS game. That’s.. Really fucking stupid. I didn’t ask for this nor had I ever seen anyone talk about it.
I popped the game out mid scene and tossed it, and the rest of the games out. I messaged my friend about this because it was stupid and I needed someone to share this with. He answered immediately.
Me: Hey lol. You know how I collect games and shit right?
“L”: Yea
Me: Well this fucker scammed me and I ended up getting a weird foreign ripoff about.. You’ll never guess. Emi-Fucking-nem
“L”: Like… The rapper??
Me: Yeah and it’s super buggy. Like, it doesn’t play well and it came password protected
“L”: That’s retarded. Why would you even play it
Me: I didn’t even know what it was. It didn’t have any kind of markings or anything.
“L”: You’re lucky it isn’t haunted. Do you know how many of those Creepypasta assholes would hound you for it? Lmao
Me: Maybe I’d at least get my money back. Its too late. I got rid of it
END OF CONVERSATION
Or did I…? I didn’t realize that I left my DS on. The game was… still playing? How is this even possible. I got rid of it and there was NOTHING in the slot either. Maybe my friend was right and it was haunted. No, its probably some weird ass virus it gave my DS. I did a full reset and it was back to normal. That’s a relief. I’d be pretty pissed if some fucking game broke my DS that I payed good money for. They’re harder to come across for a reasonable price these days. I’m rambling but what happened next was disturbing.
My DS started the game again. I didn’t touch anything… Why is it doing this.
Suddenly the title screen was indescribable.. A bloody mess of limbs and organs scattered in the background to make a fucked up pattern and the glitchy music was so loud that it violated every one of my orifaces that could be accessed. I couldn’t stop from playing it once more. I went to the saves. This is what got me. My full legal name was on the screen. My hands shook violently and I wiped the sweat from my forehead. This was no joke. How did it know who I was? The screen went black and the usual mission screen played through. There was no text but the music cut in and out with the occasional blood curdling screech. It loaded but this wasn’t just any city. I realize it now. It was MY hometown. What the fuck is going on?? Is this a joke?? If it is, it isn’t fucking funny. The streets were covered in realistic blood and innards. There were women and children screaming for help and now cars slowly cruised by yelling obscenities at me. About how I was a monster and how could I have done something so horrible but I didn’t do anything. This was the games doing. I quickly shut it and went to call the police but what for? What are they gonna do about a video game? My phone had no service anyways which added to my unease.
I had no choice but to continue. I recognized all the places. The park that was by my home, the schools and the restaurants. I know where the game is taking me.. Or.. him (my character) it’s taking us to my home. I looked outside the window, nothing. I’m not sure what I thought I’d find but that took a little bit of the tension off of me. I let the game do what it does. Realization sat in with me. This is the smoothest its run since I got the damned thing.
We were nearing my street, I chewed my lip in anticipation as I kept glancing outside when suddenly there it was. My house. I wasn’t in control anymore, it was coming up the steps. This wasn’t just my town either, this was in current time, my curtain was pulled back at the corner where I had been looking and I moved into my bedroom.
The screen went black yet again. Damnit. It died.
There was banging at my door. This has to be a coincidence. I checked through the peephole, nothing. I once again cracked open the door when a bloody hand forced its way through the space and reached for me. I kicked the door shut firmly and went to grab a knife. There was a sticky note waiting for me on the counter. “Its no use, I’ve already been inside your house. Love, Slim.” This isn’t funn- My thought was interrupted by the front door swinging open, bringing and inevitable darkness with it. I dashed towards my room and locked the door.
Music was playing, the music from the menu. Shit. My DS had turned back on and was now giving away my more than obvious position. There was more banging and then.. Nothing. It was over. Or so I thought. I glimpsed down at my DS. There was plain white text.
“I’m in the closet.”
Slowly staring up I saw the face of true horror.
Eminem with sunken in black eyes, blood stained yellow teeth and fingernails and tattered clothes. This can’t be Eminem. He hasn’t looked like this in years.
He pointed to me and beckoned me over with a long scary contorted finger.
He smiled at me with his sharp crooked teeth. “Its been a long time, ______”
“I don’t understand! Why me? Why now? What did I do..?” I dropped to my knees, pleading with him between labored sobs.
He chuckled “You really don’t remember, do you? You were always so forgetful.” He grabbed my arm and stared into my eyes
Oh my god. That’s right. My parents took me to see him in concert when I was just a toddler. That day has haunted me ever since. While performing one of his hit songs he stared right into what felt like my soul “I’ll see you soon, ____” He muttered under his breath
Memories were flooding back. I remember. He was the mysterious man in the background of all of our family photos. I met his gaze “You. I know you. You’ve been following me”
“I have, and now it’s time for my revenge. I want you to feel as alone as I felt all those years.” His jaw unhinged and then everything went black.
Its been a year since then and I’m still getting adjusted to my human flesh.
Love, Slim.
The End

Hi all,
I will be visiting Iceland from May 20-28th and drew up a rough draft of an itinerary. I will be accompanied by a friend and we are wanting to road trip around the entire island. Could anyone review my itinerary and give me tips? Maybe let me know if some things i have written down aren't worth seeing or places I should check out? Here is what I have:

We are looking for suggestions for Day 5-7 since we didnt plan out too far for those days. If anyone wants to suggest any restaurants, attraction spots, or anything else for any of our stops I'd really appreciate it!

2023.03.26 20:53 DrawingCharacter2316 Haunted DS game

2023.03.26 19:57 CovidCareGroup Bee pollen - nature’s multivitamin- is helping Long COVID patients in recovery.

Organic Bee Pollen: Nature’s Multivitamin February 15, 2023 from @TWC
When we consider the honeybee, most of us immediately think of the delicious honey it produces. This sweet syrup, however, is just one valuable product of these industrious insects. Another is Organic Bee Pollen, which collects on the legs of worker bees as they move from flower to flower, foraging for nectar and pollen. Once returned to the hive, bee pollen is packed into cells in the honeycomb along with honey and enzymes. This process yields a unique superfood with a bounty of health-promoting vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants.
Historical Consumption of Bee Pollen The historical use of bee pollen can be traced back to ancient cultures far and wide [1]. In ancient Egypt, bee pollen was known as “the powder that gives life.” In ancient Greece, it was called “ambrosia,” the food of the Gods. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, and Pythagoras, the influential philosopher, often prescribed it to their patients for its healing benefits.
Indigenous communities are believed to have carried pouches of pollen around their necks to provide sustaining energy for long journeys. Cultures as diverse as the Chinese, Māori, and Romans also held pollen in high regard, seeing as a cure-all for various ailments.
Given the degree to which bee pollen was venerated in the ancient world, it should come as no surprise that it remains a staple in the diet of modern people around the world. The question remains: what gives bee pollen its medicinal and nutritive power?
Health Benefits
Nutrient Density
Bee Pollen’s medicinal qualities stem partly from its incredibly high nutrient content. It is chock full of vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K, as well as minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc, which orchestrate a wide range of critical biological functions. It also contains essential amino acids that form the building blocks of proteins and are essential for growth and repair of the body's tissues [2].
Antioxidant Effect
But it’s not merely sustenance that bee pollen provides. Its high antioxidant content [3] protects the body from damage caused by harmful molecules known as free radicals, which are associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Anti-inflammatory Impact
Bee pollen also has anti-inflammatory properties, similar in magnitude to drugs such as naproxen [4]. This makes it a potential therapeutic for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and eczema.
Allergy Relief
Seasonal allergies are another health problem bee pollen has been shown to address. Research has revealed that bee pollen acts as an anti-histamine, inhibiting a process called mast cell degranulation, which triggers allergic reactions [5].
Anti-microbial, Anti-viral and Anti-fungal Potency
Not least of all, bee pollen has been shown to exert anti-microbial effects, which may make it a potent way to boost your immune system’s ability to fight infections [6].
How to Get the Benefits
At this point, you might be wondering how to incorporate bee pollen into your wellness routine. To derive maximal benefits from, it is essential to choose a high-quality, pure supplement that is free from additives, fillers, and synthetic ingredients, such as the product offered in our marketplace.
Instructions for use
Simply add a teaspoon to toast, granola, a smoothie, and enjoy the floral, sweet flavor of “the powder that gives life” and all the health benefits that come with it.

2023.03.26 19:12 Standard-Scene5606 I'm 36 years old, make $167k as a Product Manager in a MCOL city, and this week I worked on my estate plan

Possible trigger warning: Discussion of chronic illness, death, and suicide
Section One: Assets and Debt
*Note: My husband (M) makes around $180k but we have separate finances so all income, debt, and expenses listed here are mine, unless otherwise noted*
Retirement Balance:
· My poor 401k has taken a beating in the last year or so; it’s currently sitting at about $338k despite recently increasing my contributions significantly
· I contribute 16% to my 401k and my employer contributes 8%
· I receive a small pension from my employer; they contribute 3% of my pay per year to this fund but it doesn’t perform well and I’m not including this in my retirement planning
Equity if you're a homeowner:
· M and I purchased our home in early 2020 for $615k, right before the housing market went WILD
· We put down $100k (which was from sale of previous home), and our rate is 2.99%; we refinanced in 2021 and took out $50k equity for bathroom renovations and kept our same interest rate (thankfully!) so current mortgage balance is $515k
· Our home is now worth approx. $950k so we have about $435k in equity
Savings account balance:
· My personal savings is really low right now at $3k
· M and I have a joint savings account we use for home expenses and a 529 for our child, A, who is currently 7; I’m hoping to increase our 529 contributions soon
Checking account balance:
· Currently $137; I keep this pretty low and just use it to pay for day-to-day expenses after all my bills are paid
Credit card debt (and how you accumulated it):
· $19k in total, across 4 credit cards
· It makes me physically ill to type this out, but I am actively paying it down using my remaining funds after expenses are paid each month
· This debt accumulated over a number of years and was largely due to expenses/inflation drastically outpacing my income
Student loan debt (for what degree):
· $0

Day 1-Sunday:
7:00 AM: Slept in a little and it was glorious. Got out of bed, took my morning meds, chugged some water, and headed downstairs to check on A. He was already up for the day and he was watching a kids’ show on Netflix with M
7:15 AM: Made a green tea for my caffeine fix using half bottled, unsweetened green tea and half water to dilute it a little bit. Made breakfast for A; he wanted half a bagel with cream cheese and some green grapes. No breakfast for me since my morning fatigue med suppresses my appetite and I usually don’t start to get hungry until late morning or early afternoon.
7:30-8:15 AM: Hung out with A while he ate his breakfast, then I got dressed and headed to the gym
8:30-9:30 AM: Took a really fun cycle class where the instructor works with a live DJ. It makes it a really cool environment with great music, which makes the hour fly by
9:45 AM: Home from the gym, took a quick body shower and threw a load of laundry in the washing machine. Made some avocado toast with Ezekiel gluten-free bread, goat cheese, and eggs. I recently removed cow’s milk from my diet and I’m trying to also limit gluten; they’re both really reactive for my body so as much as I love ALL THE CHEESE and bread and pasta and ice cream, I know that reducing them may help with some of my MS symptoms. Sigh.
10:25 AM: Moved the laundry to the dryer and started the next load, then played Minecraft Dungeons with A for 30 minutes. He is an only child, so M and I play games and do various activities with him a lot. It’s sometimes hard when I’m really fatigued but I truly cherish all the time we get to spend playing with him and doing things he enjoys. I know I’m going to miss it when he gets older and decides he’s too cool to hang out with his parents.
11-11:30 AM: I only took half of my fatigue medication today, so I am dragging. I try to give my body a break from that medication once per week because I don’t want to become dependent on it. Unfortunately, I am exhausted on those days where I take a smaller dose or skip it. I made a chai tea latte with almond milk to try to get a caffeine boost (spoiler alert: it did not work). Talked on FaceTime with my mom and my little brother, who’s deployed overseas right now. Did light makeup and put my hair in a half-up/half-down thing while I was talking to them. I got dressed in comfy jeans, a coral-colored sweatshirt, and pastel Birkenstock sandals. M, A, and I left to go meet M’s family for lunch to celebrate M’s brother’s birthday.
12-1:30 PM: Had a really nice lunch with M and his family; I adore them and feel abundant gratitude for having in-laws I really like and enjoy spending time with. I wasn’t super hungry since I had a late breakfast, so I ordered some beef sliders and then drank 2 honey blonde ales. M’s family kindly treated everyone to lunch so no cost to us ($0).
1:30-3 PM: Took a little nap to sleep off the honey ale, while A and M hung out downstairs. Got up from my nap and made a snack for A of grapes and some chips. I munched on some grapes and gave myself a silent talking-to for overdoing it at lunch. Took my afternoon meds.
3:00-5:30 PM: A and I played outside with the dogs, throwing tennis balls for them to fetch and tossing a frisbee back and forth. We also practiced some soccer stuff. I did my daily French lesson with Duo Lingo, picked up the yard (dog owners-you know), and then A and I picked some fresh lemons, oranges, and tangelos from our citrus trees. We are really fortunate to have a huge backyard with tons of fruit trees and other plants. I washed all the fruit we picked, then used it to make a centerpiece for the kitchen island. We played some Mario Kart and another round of Minecraft Dungeons before getting ready for dinner.
5:30-6:30 PM: We had a quick dinner of leftover pizza, chicken wings, and salad. I cleaned up the kitchen while M did the dishes. M and I played a card game (Pinochle) while A took a shower and got his jammies on.
6:30-7:45 PM: M, A, and I finished watching “Rock Dog” on Netflix-it was cute. I packed A’s backpack and snacks for school tomorrow. It’s his first day back after Spring Break but he really enjoys school so he’s excited.
7:45-8:15 PM: Read stories with A for half an hour before he fell asleep. He wanted to know how to say some silly phrases in French, so we practiced that for a few minutes before I headed to my room to get ready for bed.
8:15-10 PM: I did my nighttime routine-brushed the dogs’ teeth (they both enjoy it and follow me to the bathroom at night when they know it’s time) and did my skincare routine. I have been loving products from The Ordinary and the granactive retinoid emulsion I use at night has been a game changer for my skin. I scrolled Reddit for a while before passing out.
Daily total: $0
Day 2-Monday:
3:30-5:00 AM: Woke up in the middle of the night after having a really stressful dream and could not get back to sleep. Scrolled Reddit and checked personal e-mails and texts until I finally fell back to sleep at 5 AM.
6:30 AM: Woke up after snoozing my alarm repeatedly. I checked my work e-mail and Slack messages to get caught up for the day; my team are all on the East Coast so they’re three hours ahead of me. Took my morning meds and drank a bunch of water.
6:45-7:45 AM: Went downstairs to grab my daily green tea and checked on A, who was doing a quick workout with M. A is very much into fitness right now and loves participating in whatever workouts M is doing. Made breakfast for A (bagel and cream cheese and grapes again), put away two loads of laundry, fed the dogs, showered, got dressed (pastel sweatshirt and yoga pants), helped A brush his teeth and get ready for school, picked up the yard again, and made an almond milk smoothie for my breakfast with pineapple and some of the citrus we picked yesterday. Before we headed out the door for school, A spotted a little rabbit sitting in our back yard, so we kept the dogs inside the house and gently chased the bunny out our gate to the front yard. I’m sure poor Peter Rabbit was terrified, but we didn’t want the dogs to get him. I realized that I have grown up to be Farmer McGregor!
8-11:30 AM: Dropped A off at school and sent a Venmo payment to A’s soccer coach for his soccer lesson later today ($35). Called my cellphone provider to inquire about an incorrect charge on my bill (they refunded it-$10), called my pharmacy to refill two prescriptions, and hopped on Amazon to order a new sports bra, some vitamins for the dogs, and some fancy gold sprinkles for cupcakes I’m making at the end of the month ($71.23). My first morning meeting got moved to later in the week, so I got caught up on all my e-mails, helped a coworker with some questions she had, and made a to-do list for my work tasks today.
11:30 AM: I made a quick lunch (breakfast?) of a breakfast burrito and finished an episode of “How to Get Away with Murder”; I am OBSESSED with this show and kicking myself for not starting to watch it until recently! I ate 2 cookies for good measure and headed back to my home office.
12-5 PM: Attended some meetings, prepped a presentation for tomorrow, and did other admin work. I talked to one of my sisters about issues our other sister is having while I emptied the dishwasher. I also completed my daily Duo Lingo lesson and typed up some of my Money Diary. Took my afternoon meds.
5-7 PM: M and A got home from A’s private soccer lesson and we heated up dinner (more leftovers) and ate quickly before A and I headed back to the soccer center for his regular practice. A was a rockstar and put so much energy into practice, as usual. I completed another Duo Lingo lesson while watching him practice.
7:15 PM: Home from soccer, ordered Dairy Queen delivery through Uber Eats ($26.73). It was a special treat for A since he did so well at his soccer practice and soccer lesson today. Am I going to feel terrible tomorrow after consuming so much dairy? Probably. Is it worth it? We shall see!
7:30-8:30 PM: A took a quick shower then M read him stories and put him to bed. I did my nighttime routine, watched another episode of “How to Get Away with Murder”, and then it was lights out.
Daily total: $132.96
Day 3-Tuesday:
4:45 AM: My alarm goes off and I begrudgingly crawl out of bed. I drink some water, take my morning meds, and make my green tea, before getting dressed for the gym. It’s still dark outside and it’s raining like crazy so my motivation to go to the gym is waning.
5:30-6:30 AM: I took a cycle class at my gym, with a different instructor and format than the one on Sunday. It wasn’t as challenging as the other cycle class, but it was also super early, so I am not complaining.
6:30-7:45 AM: Head home from the gym, shower, get dressed (a gray t-shirt and yoga pants), and hang out with A while he eats breakfast (bagel with cream cheese and some grapes again). I responded to Slacks from my team and checked my calendar for the day while I made another green tea. After A was done eating breakfast, we played some Minecraft Dungeons together. He doesn’t usually get to play video games before school, but he got himself dressed and ready to go in record time, so I didn’t mind making an exception.
7:45-8:15 AM: Dropped A off at school and headed home to finish getting ready for the day. I put on some light makeup and dry shampooed my hair so I would be presentable for the multiple meetings I have today.
8:30-11:15 AM: Took a bunch of meetings, two of which I thought would be really tough but ended up going well. Made a brunch of Ezekiel toast with peanut butter and strawberry jam and ate that while I typed up more of this Money Diary before my next round of meetings began.
12-4:30 PM: Lots of meetings and work to do in between them. I took a quick snack break and ate 2 cookies while I did today’s Duo Lingo lesson. I also took my afternoon meds while I had a break between meetings. I’m thankful for modern medicine but I would be lying if I said it’s not a pain to manage so many pills at different times throughout the day.
4:30 PM: Signed out of work for the day and-you guessed it-played some Minecraft Dungeons with A and M. A finished all his homework at school so we let him have some extra video game time before dinner.
5-8 PM: We had dinner (grilled chicken, quinoa, peas) then A and I had a dance party in the kitchen while I cleaned up from dinner. I snuck a leftover brownie and treasured every bite. We all watched a movie together then I read stories with A and put him to bed.
8:30-10 PM: I did my nighttime skincare routine, brushed the dogs’ teeth, scrolled Reddit for a while, then lights out.
Daily total: $0
Day 4-Wednesday:
5:45 AM: Woke up to the sound of a furious rainstorm outside. I live in a very dry climate so getting rain always feels like a luxury. I remembered today is the day I can begin making dining reservations for an upcoming trip to Disney World, so I log in to my Disney account and start looking at options. I’m surprised and delighted to get 3 different reservations I was hoping for right away. The last time we went to Disney World in 2021, I had to check daily for reservation openings, and I ended up just paying for a service that monitors restaurant availability in order to get the reservations we wanted. I was not expecting it to be so easy this time around! I had to pay to hold our reservations ($344.79) but will end up splitting them with my sister and her partner, whom A and I are going on the trip with. I have funds set aside in a travel sinking fund so using some of that for this expense. Note: A doesn’t know we are going on this trip and my sister, and I are planning to surprise him the morning we leave. I cannot wait!!!
6:00-7:45 AM: Made breakfast for A (Cheerios today) and got him ready for school while I drank my green tea. I got dressed (striped sweatshirt and yoga pants) and put on some light makeup since today’s schedule is pretty meeting heavy. I took my morning meds and started responding to Slacks, then checked my calendar to ensure I wasn’t added to any new meetings since yesterday afternoon. I started mentally preparing for a meeting I know is going to be difficult today. I try to treat everyone with kindness but there is a person I have to meet with today who does not seem to share that same value. Oh well, c’est la vie.
8:00-10 AM: After dropping A off at school, I got fully logged in for the day and jammed through all my e-mails and morning meetings. I took a quick break to work on the Money Diary and do today’s Duo Lingo lesson. I made a chai tea latte with almond milk and it went down a treat.
10-10:30 AM: Break between meetings so I used the time to empty the dishwasher and start a load of laundry. The rain finally petered out, so I picked up the yard and checked the mail while listening to a true crime podcast.
10:30-1:30 PM: More meetings, one of which was really fun! I really like my team and I appreciate that we can have a good time together, even when our work is stressful. Between meetings, I found a dermatologist with good reviews and called to make a Botox appointment. I paid a deposit to hold my appointment ($50); it will be deducted from the cost of my service. I’ve been hesitant to start getting Botox since I’m bad about keeping up with beauty routines, but I just need to do it and force myself to maintain it. I ate a quick sandwich with some turkey and grainy mustard on Ezekiel bread.
1:30-4:30 PM: Took my afternoon meds. Did some admin work, tried pulling a report in Snowflake but couldn’t wrap my brain around fixing the syntax errors so I called it quits for the afternoon. I really need to carve out time for SQL practice each day; my brain is not naturally good at coding and it feels impossible that I’ll ever get more comfortable with it. M and A got home and we celebrated A’s progress on his reading comprehension grades. He is extremely gifted with math and spelling but he has struggled a little bit this year with reading comprehension, so we try to really celebrate any growth he shows in that area. I downloaded some songs from iTunes ($5) and listened to those while I worked.
4:30-5 PM: I put together my to-do list for tomorrow, did one final sweep of Slacks and e-mails, and logged out for the day. A and M played Minecraft Dungeons for a few minutes while I finished working.
5-7:30 PM: M smoked a prime rib today, which we had for dinner, along with salad and leftover quinoa. A and I tossed around a football while M finished cooking the meat. I ordered invitations for A’s birthday party next month ($36, split with M so my total is $18). He is all about Minecraft right now so naturally that is the party theme he chose. I vacuumed the downstairs floors and cleaned the kitchen then we finished watching the movie we started last night. I ordered some clothing for myself and used a small credit I have from the store to bring down the total cost ($120.81).
7:30 PM: M put A to bed and read stories with him while I brushed the dogs’ teeth and did my nighttime skincare routine.
Daily total: $538.60
Day 5-Thursday:
4:45 AM: Woke up when M’s alarm went off; looked at my phone and saw how early it was then promptly fell asleep.
6:05 AM: Woke up to my alarm and dragged myself out of bed. I have a meeting at 7 AM my time so I need to get moving a little earlier than normal. M is taking A to school today so I get dressed (gray shirt, light pink Vuori pants), take my meds, put on some light makeup, and start checking Slacks and e-mails.
6:45 AM: A is still sleeping so I wake him up for the day. The dogs are so excited to see him so they accompany me to his room and jump up on his bed for kisses. I help A pick out clothes for the day and leave him to get dressed while I make his breakfast (Cheerios and grapes today).
7:00-7:30 AM: I log in to work and attend the early morning meeting; it’s a frustrating conversation and nothing gets accomplished, so will have to follow up with the stakeholders early next week.
7:30-8:00 AM: I make a Chai tea latte with almond milk for myself, fill A’s water bottle, and do a final check of his backpack to make sure he has everything he needs. I always pack A’s backpack each night with snacks, his homework folder, and any library books he needs to return the next day. It makes mornings a little less hectic and sets the tone for a less-stressful day for us. I kiss A and M goodbye as they head out the door, then go back to work. I had signed up for a short cycle class later this morning but I am not feeling it today; I cancel my registration and promise myself I’ll do a workout at home later in the day (spoiler alert: did not work out later).
8:00-10:00 AM: I listen to a podcast someone mentioned in their Money Diary (“I Will Teach You to be Rich”) while I do some admin work and put away the laundry I started yesterday. I have back-to-back meetings later today so trying to get any household and admin things done first so I can fully focus on those calls. I ate a quick breakfast of a tomato, goat cheese, and egg scramble with two pieces of Ezekiel bread toast.
10:00 AM-1:00 PM: Attended back-to-back meetings and coordinated follow-ups for our team as needed. My previous roles were always very meeting heavy, but a lot of those meetings felt pointless; I like that in my current role, people tend to only meet when it’s really necessary, so we get more out of the time we have together. Took my afternoon meds.
1:00-4:30 PM: Finished work for the day, had a brownie and a Dilly Bar made with coconut cream for snacks. I have definitely noticed a correlation between my level of stress at work and how much sugajunk food I eat. I stepped outside for a few minutes to get some fresh air and check the mail. I received my Disney redemptions gift card for $77 from my Chase Disney Rewards credit card. I browsed the Shop Disney website and debated buying some Snow White themed “Minnie ears” for the upcoming trip, but I already have a few pairs I will bring so I decided to hold off on buying it. I did purchase a new Magic Band + for the trip ($26.96). I got it at a discounted rate since we have an upcoming reservation on-property. While the Magic Band isn’t required, it does make life easier since you can use it as your room key, to purchase food and other items in the parks, etc. I had previously bought one for A which I plan to give to him when my sister and I surprise him the morning we leave for the trip. I completed my Duo Lingo lesson for the day and got about 90% of the questions correct! I feel like it’s starting to “click” and I’m making good progress.
4:30-6:00 PM: M went to see the new John Wick movie, so A and I decide to order burgers and fries via Uber Eats for dinner ($27.35). M usually cooks dinner each night and while I know how to cook and can make basic things, I was really tired so I took the easy route. While we waited for dinner to arrive, I helped A with his homework and hung out with him while he played Minecraft Dungeons for a few minutes.
Daily total: $54.31
Day 6-Friday:
6:30 AM: I slept in a little this morning since I have no meetings until later today. I checked my Slacks and e-mails in bed for a few minutes, then took my morning meds and headed downstairs to make my green tea. A is already up and dressed so we hung out for a few minutes and then got his breakfast ready. He wasn’t very hungry this morning, so I let him have a granola bar and grapes instead of a bigger meal. Every single morning, he tells me he isn’t hungry and I remind him he needs to eat something or he will be hungry and distracted once he gets to school, so this is a well-rehearsed conversation for us.
7:00-8:00 AM: A ate his breakfast then finished getting ready for school while I took a super quick shower and got dressed (a blue sweatshirt and workout shorts). I only have one meeting today so I decide to skip makeup and hair and just put on my moisturizer and some lip balm. I drop A off at school and get fully logged in for the day.
8:00-9:30 AM: I chat with my team on Slack about some data analytics we got asked to provide today; I feel very grateful to work with smart people who view things differently than I do. It challenges me to think outside of the box and I feel like I’m constantly learning new things. M and I decide to increase our contributions to A’s 529 account, so I update my budget binder to plan for $100 per paycheck to his account instead of the $75 I have been doing. M puts in the same amount each pay period. Note: I know there are so many online budgeting tools I could use but I really love having a place to write it down and make it a little more fun by using different colored pencils for different categories.
9:30-11:00 AM: I had an awesome meeting with someone I mentor; part of it was career-related and part of it was just catching up on life. We make plans to meet again in two weeks and I’m excited to talk to her again. After the meeting, I quickly catch up on admin work and e-mails.
11:00 AM-12:30 PM: M and I worked on our estate plan. It’s been on my mind for a while because of my MS and we recently lost a loved one at a very young age so we decided to finally get this done. We utilized a free legal service through my company’s Employee Assistance Program, which walked us through filling out the different documents we need. We created a trust and will to ensure A and our dogs go to the guardians we’ve chosen for them and specified how we want our assets and property to be divided up. We also put together a living will/healthcare power of attorney for me, which was way more emotional than I anticipated. I’m on a high-efficacy treatment but MS is progressive and as of now there is no cure. I’m doing what I can to stave off my disease progression, but I want to specify my wishes regarding my long-term care in case I ever become incapacitated (physically or cognitively). Assisted suicide isn’t legal in my state but I let M know that would be my preference if my disease progresses to a certain point; maybe by then it will be legal here and if not, we can go to a state where it is legal. I know it was difficult for M to talk about this but I feel better knowing he understands my wishes and is willing to do what I ask.
12:30-1:30 PM: After the estate planning conversation, I needed an emotional palate-cleanser, so I scrolled Reddit for a few minutes and made a quick lunch (breakfast) of scrambled eggs with goat cheese, tomatoes, salsa, and guacamole. I called my sister and caught up with her for a few minutes and then went back to work to wrap up some admin tasks. Took my afternoon meds.
1:30-3:00 PM: I reviewed some proposed documentation to provide feedback, listened to another episode of “I Will Teach You to be Rich”, and watched a how-to video for SQL database creation. I placed an Amazon order for some health and beauty items ($58.59) and talked to M about the plans for tonight. The PTSA at A’s school is hosting a family game night so we chatted about what time to go and whether we should eat dinner first. I am currently running for a position on the PTSA Board at his school and I love events like this so I’m looking forward to it.
3:00-3:30 PM: M picked up A from school and they did some soccer drills in the backyard while I finished work. I also did my Duo Lingo lesson for the day and confirmed my reservation at a local restaurant tomorrow morning. My family and I try to get together every few weeks and tomorrow morning we are meeting there for an early breakfast.
3:30-4:30 PM: It has been a long, stressful week and my work is done for the day so I log off a bit earlier than usual. I check the mail, pick up the yard, and relax for a little while before it’s time to leave for the family game night.
4:30-6:30 PM: We ate a quick dinner of leftover pizza and salad then headed to the family game night. A had a really nice time playing the different carnival games and hanging out with his friends.
6:30-8:00 PM: We played Minecraft Dungeons for a while, M mixed a delicious cocktail for me, then M put A to bed while I did my nighttime routine.
8:00-10:00 PM: M and I watched a movie together then lights out.
Day 7-Saturday:
6:30 AM: Woke up with my alarm, took morning meds, and headed downstairs for green tea and cuddles with A. We watched some cartoons on Netflix then A and I started knocking out our Saturday morning chores while M was at the gym.
7:30 AM-10:00 AM: A and I went with my family to breakfast and it was delicious. A ordered pancakes and sausage and I had a delectable avocado eggs benedict dish and a cold brew with almond milk. My stepdad paid for everyone which was really nice ($0). After breakfast, my family came back to our house for a few minutes. We showed them our garden since A is really proud of the progress his fruit trees and veggie plants are making. M went grocery shopping for the week (my half was $90).
10:00 AM-1:30 PM: My family left and M, A, and I spent a couple hours just hanging out, playing some video games, doing laundry, and having lunch. I dropped off a return at the local post office (will be $35 once refunded) and put some gas in my car while I was out ($30).
1:30-4:00 PM: A had a soccer game in the afternoon; his team lost but he played pretty well and received good feedback from his coach. M headed to a friend’s house for a party and A and I went home. I did more laundry and played outside with A and the dogs since it was a nice, warm day. I placed an Instacart order for some candy for A’s Easter basket and a couple other items I forgot to have M grab at the grocery store ($40.78). A and I drew and colored for a while then made paper airplanes.
4:00-8:00 PM: A and I played some Minecraft Dungeons then had a dance party in the kitchen while I made dinner for the two of us. We had gluten free pasta with meatballs, garlic bread, and peas. After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen and more dancing ensued. We watched some TV and then put away A’s laundry and made the beds with the bedding we washed today.
8:00-10:00 PM: A and I watched some TV and I let him stay up later than usual since it’s a weekend night. A fell asleep around 9:30. I did my nighttime routine and scrolled Reddit until 10 or so when M got home from his friend’s house, then lights out.
Daily total: $160.78
At the end of each day please tally up your daily expenses. Then at the end of your diary please tally up all expenses in the following categories:
Food + Drink: $184.86
Health + Beauty: $108.59
Clothes: $120.81
Transport: $30
Travel: $344.79
Other: $156.19
Total: $945.24
Lastly, reflect on your diary!
Man, I have so many thoughts on this diary. I’m in this kind of weird space where I want so badly to pay off my debt because I have a lot of shame associated with it. On the flip side, I want to travel and enjoy the time I have right now because I don’t know if my health will permit that in the future. Overall I spent less on food than I usually do, partly because our families generously treated us when we went out with them. I feel grateful to make enough money to start paying off my debt more quickly, even though I have a long way to go. I’m also proud of how far I’ve come from the terrified 18 year old who didn’t know how I was going to pay my rent and still eat each month. If you made it through this super-long diary, thanks! I’d love to hear from anyone in a similar place with their health regarding how you balance responsible finances with having fun and enjoying your life.
