Finished watching the show for the first time a week or two ago. I was incredibly happy at the end of S4. It was what i consider the best outcome, with the best ending, especially the moment when they finally meet each other and say Hi (i was so happy for them, all my body muscles contracted because of happiness i was experiencing). But also because of the abrupt ending with no afterscene, at the end i adopted an incredibly huge void that's sucking my stomach in. Bleh...
So i went and watched all 4 seasons again, and i got in love with the show even more, and now all of my feelings are doubled, including that void i mentioned.
This is by far the greatest show with this much character development, unparalleled by anything i've seen. It's inspiring, sweet and sometimes very mature. It's rare for me to experience such attachment, i'm extremely picky when it comes to shows/movies/comics.
The only titles i recall doing the same to me are:
  1. Sword Art Online (1st season only)
  2. Hooky (Webtoon by Míriam Bonastre Tur (an amazing work, i'm surprised there isn't a show created about it))
  3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
And now, StarVStheForcesofEvil has claimed my heart. I'm missing this show already, so much.

Currently i'm trying to watch something new, but no matter what i try, it feels dull, difficult for me to progress farther than couple episodes, and i don't know if it's the post effect after witching StarVStheForcesofEvil, where i just compare everything to it, or if the title is just not for me.
Here are titles i've tried recently:
  1. Amphibia - i decided to take a brake on S2E9, because it feels like the majority of episodes have their individual story that finishes in 10 min and has no meaning later on, except for the part that the main characters create bonds, but other than that, it just feels like the show is barely progressing, and each episode is more of a casual filler than an actual story related part. It did accelerate when the S2 kicked in, but it's still not quite "there" for me. Too much "water" i suppose. I'll try to finish it nonetheless.
  2. Niko and the Sword of Light - stopped at E2, probably because it's a little difficult to watch at my age (i'm 25), i guess i need something mature than that, something at least at the level of StarVStheForcesofEvil.
  3. Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia - stopped at E2, same situation as with the title #2.
I'm yet to get to Steven Universe and Adventure Time, although something tells me that these shows are close Amphibia, where there's a lot of "water", but i could be entirely wrong, and if i am, i apologize for being dismissive.

I guess where i'm trying to go to with this, is i wanted to see if anyone can recommend something similar to StarVStheForcesofEvil. I understand that this show is unique, unparalleled as i mentioned before, so there probably won't be exact matches to this day, but if it's at least similar to where it's an adventure, but you kind of grow up along with the character, it would be great. And if it has romance, then that's even better. Ideal even.
I also try to only watch titles that you can "Learn from", if you will. Learn something about life. If it's just an "okay" title that you "could" watch simply to spend some time, like a casual comedy, i end up feeling sick, like i'm wasting my life, so i tend to ignore these.
If you could provide with your personal suggestion that would be great. It doesn't have to be cartoon only, it could be anything, a movie, a show, a book, comic or even video game.
Here are some titles i am fond of, if you're interested:
Hooky (very similar to StarVStheForcesofEvil), The Dragon Prince, The Forgotten City game, Sword Art Online, Gurren Lagann, Lost in Space, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kyle XY, the Mass Effect game trilogy, Arrival, Merlin, Daredevil, The Dark Knight, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Gravity Falls.

If there's a title that you could share, i would appreciate it. And who knows, perhaps this post might help other people in search for something they could enjoy while developing their inner "Me".

Biography
Before absorbing any of his siblings, Hoaqin starts as himself, before he merged to form the legendary slayer White. A kid from the Arie family who desired to surpass his father's sword. A prodigy unlike any other of his age. One day he managed to meet his father, the Head of the Arie Family: The Irregular Arie Hon. He led him to outside his floating city and to one of his castles where he displayed him that he will never surpass him. Not if he remained there with the rest of the Arie.
If he wished to surpass him, then he must become a demon and fall into the sin, he should use his rage and hatred towards him and devour the soul of the weak. Maybe then and only then he could surpass him, or fail in the attempt.
Once he became a High ranker and his plan failed because of the Zahard princess. He escaped and sealed himself due to an admin contract within the Hell train in awaiting of recupering his power. His plan failed as well due to the collective effort of a group of regulars 600 hundred years ago, where a regular called Roen gave her soul to seal him.
When Daniel, one of the regulars who sealed him (who was in love with Roen) awake him to try and resurrect her, there he gets interrupted by 25th Baam, a slayer nominee. FUG had plans for both of them, as some of FUG upper powers didn't want him to reawaken. So Pedro, a servant of Slayer Karaka who had taken control of the Hell Train organizes the Dallar game, whoever won should become the true slayer nominee.

Shinsu

Shinsu is the fundamental basis of the tower, it exist everywhere in the tower and is the source to energy and several elements in the tower: be it light, fire or the water. It can change in infinite ways: "it is the world itself"
By controlling high concentrations of shinsu the characters are able to control energy and elements itself, as so, everyone in the tower uses shinsu to fight, some uses includes reverse its flow within someone to stop them and many other uses.

Shinsu resistance

Shinsu is a high concentration energy even at its most basic form, it hinders the move of even rankers themselves, the capacity to withstand high concentrations of shinsu is called shinsu resistance, those with high shinsu resistance are able to resist energy and elemental attacks better than others.
Note: Shinsu and spells/magic are NOT the same thing, Shinsu is the basis(in the tower) of energy and elements.

Spell of Soul-Eating

The spell of soul eating is a spell that Hoaqin received as a child, after his encounters with his father, Arien Hon. The spell was supposedly, given to him by a demon, rotten to the core. With the intention of making Hoaqin powerful, according to him, he can still feel the demon inside him. It was used to merge alongside his siblings: Arie Vicente, Arie Albelda, Arie David and Arie Anna to form the Legendary slayer: White.
White power comes from souls he absorbed and the energy he gains from "burning" souls, like they were a power battery. If he runs out of souls he becomes weaker or starts losing power.

Arie Style Swordsmanship

Arie swordsmanship is one of the sword styles of the Tower, used by the Arie family, it's a sword style that only they can do perfectly as they are able to do 'anything' with swords. Composed from sword techniques that use several forms of space bending—disappearing attacks, several simultaneous attacks that persecute you from every direction. Its inherent unpredictability summed with its unreplicability makes it impossible to fight against. It's the pinnacle of swordsmanship with no equal in the tower.
Space bending - The Arie swordsmanship main characteristic is its capability to bend space coming from every direction, changing midway through the swing appearing through another direction, it's "the space itself controlled with shinsu"
Homing attack - A subsection of its capability to bend space innate to Arie swordsmanship, is that their sword strikes follow you, being described by Baam as "flying towards me like a ghost"
Simultaneity - Their attacks are several simultaneous slashes in a single swing, from all directions, varying in number depending in the skill of the Arie swordsman or the technique being used, at the level of high rankers, they can create several hundred of simultaneous slashes with a single swing
Unpredictability - It's impossible to parry due to its unpredictability as well as due to its strenght as it may be due to being law of the tower
Unreplicability - The Arie swordmanship is a sword style that only the Arie swordsman can use at their truest, as they posess the bloodline of Arie Hon and are able to do anything with swords

White (Hoaqin), The Tenth Slayer of FUG

Biography

Once an infamous Slayer, he was a powerful high ranker. He got to the Outside Floor and cursed a country tp absorb the souls of anyone who died in it. Then he dethroned a corrupt King and became a prosper and benevolent king himself, then gave his position to his right hand. Centuries passed and he saw how that Kingdom became overrun by corruption and greed. He gathered the poor and crated another prosper kingdom which threatened the stability of the other, an so they waged war.
He then absorbed the souls of their citizens that died during the war he himself caused gaining incredible power, everytime they tried to do peace he manipulated them, raped innocent saints and killed war heroes to ignite the hatred between them. But finally, a Zahard's princess found out and battled him, ultimately winning.

General information about ‘Omniscient Reader’s Point of View’ (전지적 독자 시점)

Omniscient Reader's Point of View (‘전자적 독자 시점’) is an original ongoing series written by SingNSong (싱숑), and it's being distributed by Naver Series (네이버 시리즈), and Munpia (문피아). The official Korean art is done by 검넴 • BLACKBOX. The Webtoon version is adapted by UMI, and the art is done by the Sleepy-C (슬리피-C ) team and is being uploaded globally through LINE WEBTOON. The English Version of the Novel was uploaded to Webnovel. Translated by ‘Rainbow Turtle’ (from chapters 1 through 362) and ‘A_Passing_Wanderer’ (from chapters 363 through 551).
There are currently 3 versions of ORV available: The Novel, Webtoon, and Ebook.
Omniscient Reader's Point of View (‘전지적 독자 시점’) is also known and referred to by different names. Its common abbreviation is ‘전독시’ in Korean, While ‘Omniscient Reader’, ‘ORV’, or ‘OR’ are common abbreviations in English.
Note: The literal translation of ‘전지적 독자 시점’ is not Omniscient Reader’s ‘Viewpoint’ but Omniscient Reader’s ‘Point of View’. I am using the literal translation for this post.

→ ORV (전독시) Novel’s first chapter was updated on January 6th, 2018, and the last chapter was updated on February 2nd, 2020 (on Munpia).
  • The first chapter was updated on May 21st, 2018, and the last chapter was updated on February 3rd, 2020 (on Naver Series).
  • ORV (전독시) Webtoon was the first chapter updated on May 26th, 2020, and is ongoing.
→ The Official English version of the novel was first updated on December 21st, 2018, and the last chapter was updated on March 6th, 2020.
  • The Official English version of the Webtoon was first updated on August 19th, 2020, and is ongoing.
→ The Ebook version was first updated on March 17th, 2020, and is still ongoing.

What do I mean by Ongoing?

ORV has already been completed with 551 chapters in total. However, Naver and Munpia have marked ORV as ‘ongoing’. This is because side stories are still being updated, the Ebook is still being uploaded and the Webtoon has a long way to go.
  • There are currently 4 side stories: Two are free and the other two are behind a paywall.
  • As the Novel is being revived and uploaded as an Ebook, it currently has 372 chapters and is still ongoing.
  • The Webtoon currently has 120+ chapters, and it's still being updated, with no announcement of a hiatus for the time being.

Where to find Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint Webtoon and Novel, in both English and Korean.

From where do I start reading the Manhwa?

⬤ If you just started to read the Novel, are thinking of reading it, or if you are a novel reader and are confused about the changes the Manhwa has made to the story, here is the reason: The Webtoon follows the revised version of the novel, the Ebook. This version differs from the novel, as some aspects are changed, scenes are cut out, and more characters, interactions, and moments are added.
Starting from chapter 100 is where you see the most noticeable changes in the Manhwa and Novel. There are some scenes that are changed in the early chapters, but they won't matter much. I recommend you read from the beginning; it is a good read with lots of inner dialogue and narration.
If you don’t feel like reading 100+ chapters all over again, it's alright! I will only recommend you start from chapter 100 or the beginning of the Disaster of Floods. After chapter 100 the Novel and the Manhwa start having noticeable differences.
→ Note: I will soon start working on a small project of mine consisting of rereading both the Novel and the Manhwa at the same time and listing all the changes for those who are wondering what they are.

It is under the name 'Omniscient Reader'. It currently has 117 available chapters and 5 paid chapters. (Yes, the English Webtoon is 3 chapters behind the Korean Webtoon.)

Alright, I will be honest, the Webtoon does not have the best translation. It is inaccurate, and it uses Western terms in place of Korean Terms, downgrading the reading experience and taking away the meaning of the words. However, this is my own opinion. If you haven’t heard Korean terms/honorifics or don't really care whether they are present, you won't really care about it. It’s up to everyone’s opinion. Aside from still keeping the honorifics, for overall translation FlameScans is the better choice.

FlameScans

➤ One thing you can do to support the Series is to read on FlameScans website, but always upvote a chapter on the Webtoon App, if possible buy the paid chapters as well. It helps a lot.
Note: If you noticed the similarities between the first 15 chapters of FlameScan are the same as the Webtoon, here’s the reason: FlameScans picked up ORV in chapter 16. They didn't see the need to translate all those chapters, therefore the first 15 chapters are from the Webtoon.

English Version of the Novel

Now, for the Novel.
You will find the Novel on Webnovel, under the name ‘Omniscient Reader’. There will be 618 results. However, only one is the official translation. It has 551 chapters and 24.8M views. There are 42 available chapters and 509 locked chapters. Sign in to unlock them.
ePub: You can download it in the 'Books' App or ‘Apple Play Books’ if you have IOS, or search for any 'ePub reader' apps until you find the most suitable for your device.
The ePub also recommends some options.
The EPUB was tested on and thus we recommend the following readers: · Apple Books · Kindle (Paperwhite 4, Firmware 5.12.3) · KOReader - HTML5 style needs to be enabled! Unzip the EPUB if you wish to find scripts and documentation on how it was created.

I recommend you read up to chapter 362 in the Webnovels App, and switch to Ebook. In chapter 363+ the translation changes and name changes come along. It is very annoying and confuses many readers. You can either start reading on Webnovel and then move to the ePub or start from the ePub altogether. Some people also don’t mind the changes and would rather stick to the Webnovels App, if so, refer to 'List of Name Changes' in order to view the list of name changes.

Korean Version of the Novel and Webtoon

For the Korean Versions I recommend you download Naver, Naver Webtoon, Naver Series, and Munpia.
To start things off, you need a Naver account to log on to Naver Webtoon, Naver Series, and Munpia. Making a Naver account is like making any other email. However, it may be challenging as Naver is in a different language. There is a translator on Naver and you can select English or your preferred language. I will also leave some videos and a free translator. I recommend you use a photo translator; they are faster and easier if you cannot use Naver’s translator.
꧁Please note that Naver sometimes doesn’t allow new sign-ups. A message may appear telling you “We aren’t accepting new Sign Ups at the moment.” and it might take a couple of tries. It’s alright, just try the next day or after.꧂

About Getting Cookies and Chapters in Naver Series and Webtoon.
— You don't need to pay for cookies if you just want to purchase a chapter of the novel (not the Ebook) or KR Webtoon.
You have to play some games or whatever Naver wants you to do. Usually gives you 2-3 cookies a day. One chapter of the novel is 1 cookie. First 26 chapters of the novel are free/100+ chapters of the KR Webtoon are free.
➤ Paid chapters of the Webtoon are 2 cookies each, your free chapter will last 2-3 days.
➤ All paid chapters of the KR Webnovel are 1 cookie each, your free chapter will last 2-3 days.
