2023.05.28 04:55 baronobeefdip2 My cameras aren't working anymore, How do I turn them back on?
I have my surface pro that I have owned for almost two years already and for some reason my cameras (both the front and back) are refusing to open (I also had this computer attached to a docking station for a while to use like a desktop and it had a webcam attached to the docking station but this wasn't a problem until fairly recently). I am wanting to know how I reenable my cameras? I already went through the step of going into settings and enabling the cameras (It looks like it does see them in both here and in device manager) plus granting permissions to the apps installed on the device but still no dice. What else should I do to get them working again?

2023.05.28 04:53 unlmtdjuice (NY) What options do I have for an irresponsible landlord who occupies the other half of the duplex?
I’m in the capital region of NY, living in a two family home where the landlord occupies the top unit and we occupy the bottom. The landlord is really irresponsible and we have a recurring problem with these same two issues, among others:
- He and his friends constantly leave the front and back door unlocked and even open. We text him about it every time but he doesn’t seem to give a fuck.
- He has a young, poorly trained dog who constantly escapes. We find this dog everywhere and twice it has made a beeline for my 1.5 year old (didn’t seem aggressive, seemed playful, but he’s huge and a danger to her). He knocked her over once and she incurred some minor injuries. He lets the dog outside without supervision all the time despite it constantly escaping the yard and even busting into our bottom floor apartment a few times.
There are other issues, like us having to ask him to put smoke detectors in the unit (he wasn’t aware it didn’t have any and I had to tell him exactly how many are required by law), and some sanitation issues with a couch in the entry that smells like cat piss (he had a candle burning when we saw the unit and now we know why), but these two are serious problems for us due to the safety issues. I think he is both careless and inexperienced.
All I can come up with is asking him to install auto-locking deadbolts but I don’t know if I have any legs to stand on with that. Plus it’s not helpful if he doesn’t fucking shut the actual door. I’m at a loss for the dog other than calling the animal control officer, and seems like a nuclear (and ineffective, given our cops) option.

2023.05.28 04:51 PuzzleheadedStaff864 Missing Folder in Chamsys MagicQ PC: Unable to Access Saved Shows and Configuration Files
Hi I have a question/problem I am relatively new (7 months approximately) using chamsys MagicQ PC.I remember that in my first installation (windows 10) a folder was created in documents, where I could see the Head Files created by me, I could see the saved show file (the one I was working on). But after a new installation this folder is not created and does not exist. therefore I can not see my saved shows nor my configuration for chamsys. My question is this folder does not exist in the new versions? How can I save my configuration (internal chamsys configuration) to take it to another computer? The version I am using is 1.9.3.8. Update: Performing a search with Ubuntu through the terminal I found the location where they are being saved C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ChamSys Ltd\MagicQ PC\show Is this location normal? i also noticed that when i save a show i get archive fail https://preview.redd.it/j986f0bw3j2b1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&s=e58c5227a8e6cf1061db117d75e1c039599b1274 submitted by PuzzleheadedStaff864 to ChamSys [link] [comments]
2023.05.28 04:50 Ogiwan A Storm Comes
Had this story in my head for a while. Finally getting around to getting it out. Apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, as I'm writing this while inebriated and without the benefit of any copy editors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: Klarabad naa Qu'oria, kla Tur’a Sept
To: The Most High Eminences, Klanavian Host
Subject: Inhabitants of System K-3190, aka SOL SYSTEM
My most esteemed eminences of the Blessed Ones, I wish to convey the lessons learned upon interacting with some of the Lesser Races. Specifically, the inhabitants of the K-3190 system, which the inhabitants call the Sol System.
Klarabad looks up at the fresh sound of rumbling. He had always liked thunderstorms at his parent's lake house, but he did not like this storm. He continued writing.
We began our subjugation campaign as we always do: by attempting to insert contrary mores, beliefs, and practices into the subject species. Surprisingly, it worked even more effectively than the norm. Obviously, these "Terrans" are an even more fractious species than the norm. Fairly soon, we began our reconnaissance overflights; typically, this induces the subject species into a heightened sense of fear. Not so for these Terrans. This probably should have been a warning to us, but we ignored it. After all, some of our client species have blithely ignored our reconnaissance overflights.
The rumbling continued
We moved into the next stage: small-scale abductions, to heighten fear, and to study the future subject species for marketability as a client species. This is where we began to encounter.....issues. As my most esteemed eminences are aware, these small-scale abductions are usually carried out by recruitment teams primarily composed of client species, but with a single member of Our Blessed Race providing oversight and leadership. This member was always provided with an energy shield, but here we see the first issues with our attempt to subjugate these Terrans.
As my most esteemed eminences are aware, our shields are designed to stop certain speed and energy levels of projectiles, which is typically what most of these primitive species are armed with. Generally, primitive species will settle on a certain speed and energy level, and we can calibrate our shields to negate that specific ballistic balance, and nearby levels as well. However, the Terrans had not settled on a standardized projectile. Because of their fractious nature, they used a gamut of cartridges. Those of a higher speed and energy level would partially penetrate our shields, and those of a lower would drain our shields until they failed. Furthermore, regulations regarding personal ownership of weapons varied across the world; not only could we not prepare against a specific caliber, but we could not even prepare against kind of weapon. While in some areas of Terra, we seemed to run into an almost solid wall of projectile fire; in others, we faced bows, thrown weapons, and even melee weapons. We could not prepare our shields to protect against this gamut of weaponry.
Further complicating this, the Terrans quickly learned to kill the member of Our Blessed Species in command of our recruitment teams, which would lead to our client species defecting from our Just and Noble Cause. Despite our generosity in uplifting their primitive species, our client species would swiftly defect once their leader was slain. We attempted to use discipline collars, but after a few too many units spontaneously self-destructed due to losing contact with their leader, we discontinued the process. It lead to simply too much waste. We switched to recruitment units composed entirely of either members of Our Blessed Race, or Meklari automatons lead by one of our people.
The rumbling intensifies
It should be noted that we attempted to use all of the inducement policies that we have developed. Our messaging was foiled, regardless of the medium. While physical chastisement initially seemed to work, in the long term it induced the Terrans to either fight to the death or suicide upon capture. Even extreme and public chastisement did little but harden the Terran resolve to fight. While some Terran nation-states submitted to Our will, the majority didn't, and they eventually conquered our subjects on Terra.
We should have abandoned our attempts here, but the Terrans looked like a very lucrative subject species, due to their hardiness and creativity. This proved to be our downfall; after they had subjugated our client states on Terra, they then moved on our forward base on their planet's moon. Since they had previously visited their moon before, we thought little of it. However, their cleverness cannot be understated. They took the technologies they captured in their lunar assault, and learned from them. Before we could properly prepare, our position on the fourth planet from their sun was already under assault.
The lights flicker, and Klarabad looks up in concern. He quickly focuses back on his report.
After a great deal of time fighting against our species, the Terrans knew how to counteract our shields. Not only did they commonly fight with a wide array of projectiles, but by captured samples they unlocked the principles of magnetic linear acceleration. We could either prepare our shields to protect against these, or against their chemically powered projectiles. What is worse is that the Terrans began to employ a weapon of such horrific nature that it almost echoed our methods of physical chastisement. Apparently it was a weapon that had existed among their kind for a great deal of time, whose use had lead to its prohibition. Unfortunately, our attempts to induce subjugation convinced the Terrans to allow its use again, to our dismay. It would propel burning jellified incendiary material at a low enough speed that it would penetrate our shields, and badly burn the target.
The lights flicker again, and a loud rumble is heard. Soon gunfire and screams are heard. Klarabad begins to type quicker. "The storm comes," he thinks.
They took our position on the fourth planet of their solar system, and we had already departed their system, in what would have been a clear cessation of hostilities to anyone else. But they did not relent. Even our overt diplomatic attempts were rebuffed; the Terrans were stirred to a wrath we have never before seen in a sapient species. We began to evacuate this installation in the closest solar system to them, but they have apparently already reverse-engineered our faster-than-light technology. They are assulting our installation as I write this.
A bang is heard seemingly right outside his door. Klarabad mashes the "Send If No Activity In 15 Seconds" button
Please, my most esteemed ones, I beg of you, try to mollify the Terrans. They are a race bread for war, and I fear their retribution should they ever-
The door explodes inward, and two humans storm in. Klarabad stands up and tries to surrender as he was taught, but one of the humans grabs him by the neck and slams him against the wall. His breath blasted out of him, he cannot even whimper as the human's knife disembowls him. The human throws him to the ground, and Klarabad convulses in agony. One of the humans looks at the terminal Klarabad was working on.
"Oh, hey, looks like it was working on something. Should we do anything?" asks one.
"Nah, leave it for the intel boys. They can speak Tur'a." the other replies.
Klarabad tries to voice something, anything, but he does not have the breath. The two humans move out of the room, and the last thing Klarabad hears is the screams of his comrades.
After a few seconds, the terminal asks, "Are you still there?"
After a little bit longer, the terminal's message changes to, "If you do not do anything in the next few seconds, the AutoSend will commence."
After a few more seconds, the terminal's message changes again. "Thank you for using Kla'turWRITE, the best document creation program in the galaxy! Your document will be sent to your designated recipients now. Have a nice day!"

2023.05.28 04:50 DroiiidUser1882 Code problem
When unity opened up a new file, it already had this in it:
https://pastebin.com/ejp3ipuu Am I suppose to keep that? I don't know if it's needed since nothing was explained but now I realized I should've asked if it was needed
Or replace it completely with the code it said:
https://pastebin.com/j6fmuVqv If anyone has a better site to use than pastebin, let me know which can use for future, not easy on reddit site/mobile etc
Am doing this step: "
Implementing Character Movement with WASD and Jump with Space - In the Unity Project window, right-click and select Create > C# Script. Name it "CharacterController".
- Double-click the script to open it in your code editor.
- Add the following code inside the CharacterController class:"
Another problem:
When you open vscode chrome games and other things, what you last had up also opens up
Problem: When a different app (like unity) opens it by itself, then your tabs and everything you had up is gone
How to get back all tabs and everything? And how it was?
Gpt4 was wrong 2 times in 2 replies on this - thats a 100% error rate.
But was able to do a bunch of things so far that likely would've been much much harder and much more confusing without it
Does anyone use vscode here and knows about it, thanks
Theres also this strange error on the bottom right that doesn't have any explanation or what is going on with it. It happened after I installed some c# extensions that vscode auto-recommended:
The .NET Core SDK cannot be located: A valid dotnet installation could not be found. .NET Core debugging will not be enabled. Make sure the .NET Core SDK is installed and is on the path.
Goal is simple and tiny isometric game for fun, not sure how far I'll get with it all

2023.05.28 04:48 Correctionz Copy function not working in Firefox
Hello!
I have been having this issue recently with firefox, there at times where the copy function does not work at all. Right click copy and Ctrl+C does not work. If I try to cut, the text goes away but does not actually store anything into the clipboard.
Nothing I have tried has solved the issue: I have tried safe mode, Toubleshoot mode, Firefox refresh, clearing cache + cookies, removing all extensions ... NOTHING has worked.
I just wanted to make a post to see if there was anyone here that has had this issue and fixed it.. it is so disruptive that I am debating switching web browsers (I really really don't want to switch to chrome..). I have been a Firefox user for over a decade now and I really don't want to switch unless I have to.
To be clear copy and paste works in every other app, in fact I can copy things outside of Firefox and paste them into Firefox but the copy function within Firefox itself is broken. I have googled for fixes for this issue and there hasn't been a general consensus on how to fix this issue and the fact that the issue dates all the way back to 2015 is very alarming...
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any help anyone can provide!
EDIT: Clean install did not fix anything either.

2023.05.28 04:36 ReclinerRater Looking for the best wall hugger rv recliners? Here are some tips and recommendations.
Hi everyone,
I'm a long-time RV enthusiast and I love to travel in comfort and style. One of the things that makes a big difference in my RV experience is having a good recliner to relax and enjoy the view. But not all recliners are suitable for RVs. Some of them take up too much space, are too heavy, or are not durable enough for the road. That's why I prefer wall hugger rv recliners, which are specially designed to fit in tight spaces and require minimal clearance from the wall.
Wall hugger rv recliners are also easy to install, operate, and maintain. They come in various styles, colors, and features to suit your preferences and needs. Some of them even have massage, heating, or swivel functions to enhance your comfort.
So how do you choose the best wall hugger rv recliner for your RV?
Here are some tips and recommendations based on my personal experience and research: -
- Measure your available space and check the dimensions of the recliner before buying. You don't want to end up with a recliner that doesn't fit or blocks your access to other areas of your RV.
- Choose a recliner that matches your RV interior and decor. You can find wall hugger rv recliners in leather, fabric, or faux leather materials, and in different colors and patterns. Pick one that complements your style and personality.
- Consider the features and functions that you want in your recliner. Do you want a manual or electric recliner? Do you want a rocker, glider, or swivel base? Do you want a massage or heating option? Do you want a cup holder or a storage pocket? Think about what would make you happy and comfortable in your RV.
- Read reviews and ratings from other RV owners who have bought and used the recliner that you are interested in. You can learn a lot from their feedback and opinions, and avoid potential issues or problems.
- Compare prices and quality from different brands and sellers. You can find wall hugger rv recliners online or in local stores, but make sure you get the best value for your money. Look for discounts, deals, or warranties that can save you some bucks or give you peace of mind. To help you get started, here are some of the best wall hugger rv recliners that I have found online:
- RecPro Charles Collection 30" Zero Wall RV Recliner: This is one of the most popular and highly rated wall hugger rv recliners on the market. It has a sleek and modern design, a durable faux leather material, a padded headrest and armrests, and an easy-to-use lever mechanism. It also comes in various colors to match your RV interior.
- Thomas Payne Euro Recliner Chair with Footrest: This is another stylish and comfortable wall hugger rv recliner that features a swivel base, a footrest, and an adjustable headrest. It has a soft fabric material that is easy to clean and maintain, and a sturdy wood frame that can support up to 300 lbs. It also comes in different colors to suit your taste.
- Mcombo Electric Power Lift Recliner Chair with Massage and Heat: This is a wall hugger rv recliner that offers more than just relaxation. It has an electric power lift function that can help you stand up or sit down easily, a massage function that can target your back, legs, thighs, or lumbar area, and a heating function that can warm up your body. It also has a USB charging port, a cup holder, and two side pockets for your convenience.
These are just some of the
wall hugger rv recliners that I recommend for your RV. Of course, there are many more options out there that you can explore and compare. The important thing is to find one that suits your needs, budget, and preferences. I hope this post was helpful and informative for you. If you have any questions or comments about wall hugger rv recliners, feel free to share them below. I would love to hear from you.
Happy RVing!

2023.05.28 04:33 woerweike Changing bedroom carpet to match with the hardwood floor (rest of the apartment)
I have a condo (830~sqft). The bedroom is the only place that is using carpet. The rest is on engineered wood I believe. Is is possible to change the carpet in the bedroom to whatever material the rest of the room is using?
The problem is that the hardwood floor is installed when the building was built in 2009. I am concerned that I can’t find the same material anymore on the market after all these years. I actually don’t really know what brand or material it is using.
As far as I can tell, the hardwood floor is still in good condition. I think it would be wasteful to change the whole apartment just because I want to get rid of carpet in the bedroom. But I am worried that I can’t find the right material and it will look odd visually (color, pattern difference etc.)
Any suggestions on how to approach this? I am a first time home owner and this will be my first home renovation project. Any tips will be appreciated! Thank you!

2023.05.28 04:29 drumstix42 I created an Electron assistant app for the game called TemScanner
As someone who really enjoys playing Temtem, but also actively plays a lot of other games, I often find myself referring to the Wiki to remind myself about Tem traits, captures rates, type bonuses, etc. So, I began developing a local web tool which could automate all that information for me -- which then slowly evolved into a full Electron app. TemScanner Electron app How does it work? Internally, it uses an Autohotkey script which utilizes Window's built-in OCR to analyze the screen and update the app about which Tems you are currently battling against. Currently it only supports reading text via full-screen/borderless-fullscreen @ 1440p or 1080p resolutions. All of the code is open source on the repo linked below. It does NOT do any kind of game automation nor does it interact with the game itself at all. It simply reads text from the screen, analyzes pixel location/colors of UI elements to determine if you are battling enemies, and then looks up Temtem information using a public API. You can find more detailed information here, including a download link with install instructions, etc: https://github.com/Drumstix42/TemScanner-Electron Open to any questions/suggestions! Note: I'm completely new to making an Electron app, so bear with me if you run into any issues. Please take a look at the Install/Notes sections in the Readme. submitted by drumstix42 to PlayTemtem [link] [comments]

2023.05.28 04:26 UN_M Trusted (up to date) video tutorials?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently rentry.org is the trusted guide for modding a switch and keeping it up to date? What about gbatemp and switch.homebrew.guide?
I managed to follow some random youtube tutorial a while back and got some basic functionality up and running (BOTW), but the experience was very convoluted and impossible for me to know what I did, or which bits require maintenance etc.
Fast forward to now and tried to follow guides re: updating Atmosphere (and firmware somehow) etc for TOTK, and have a thousand questions that I can't find easy answers to, especially as updating seems to have ruined the installs I had there already. This is very precarious as big games like BOTW etc take ages to play through, and losing progress like that is not very nice.
I asked for an idiot-proof guide earlier, and got yelled at (downvoted to oblivion) for not being specific enough in my questions, though I thought that a thousand specific questions would be way more annoying than asking for a solid super-easy set of instructions or videos.
Case in point, the much-hyped release of the automatic sigpatches updater by TotalJustice; sounds great, well done etc. I followed the links to github, downloaded a zip, and none of the files in there look like any other app and I have no idea where to put them. Additionally, the readme doesn't address this, yet the whole community on there seems to carry on like a hive-mind where everyone else knows what to do, like it's obvious.
For the mere mortals, and the others too scared to ask dumb questions, I'd love it if someone could recommend a video that covers these things. I don't know my fusee from my hekate, my CFW from my EmuNAND or how to even use this little blue and red jig thing I ordered from Amazon.
Will this always be a fiddly intricate process or will it one day be self-contained on the switch and not require all this card-removal, unzipping, github navigating whirlwind?
Am in admiration of all your work and contributions, and hope to one day have a clue about some of it. Thanks.

2023.05.28 04:17 Kamisamasensei Any design ideas on what to do with this space?
I was thinking 1) clean up the space 2) install artificial turf 3) bocce court (never mind) 4) golf putting 5) kids play yard with a playhouse at the end 6) kids slide / tree house? I don’t know if there’s even space for a slide The space is 5x30 ft I definitely am leaning towards an artificial turf. I’d love to get some design ideas. I kinda also want to know what tools I need to put artificial turf on here. If it’s diy and easy I can do. If not, how much would a contractor charge? submitted by Kamisamasensei to landscaping [link] [comments]

2023.05.28 04:15 Exhausted_Badger Engineered hardwood installation: glue-down vs nail-down, direction, underlayment
I’m about to instal engineered hardwood floors on both floors of the house (7 1/2” plank) and after speaking with a contractor I’m left with more questions that I had before we started talking about my project. Perhaps you can help me out.
1. Nail-down vs glue-down: I have a preference for a nail-down installation. My reasoning is that it is conceivable that the floors will be updated at least once over the life of the house. Nailed floors can be relatively easily lifted. On the other hand, contractors I’ve discussed the project with seem to have a fairly strong preference towards glue. Why might that be? Are there strong benefits in using Bona glue product over good old nails? How hard it is to remove glue if the floors needs to be updated in the future? Is it possible to demo glued down floors? (I’m aware that for extra large plank manufacturers recommend “glue-assist”, basically nails and some glue. What contractors are talking about is glue-only install, with a trowel much like the tile)
2. Direction of the planks: The contractor I spoke to is adamant that the engineered hardwood plank should go orthogonal to the joists, to the point that he might not take the job if I’m unwilling to follow the recommendation. I’m slightly skeptical - the original 3” red oak hardwood floors that were in this house ran parallel to the joists in many rooms where the layout of the room called for that direction. Is the contractor right? Old floors were 3” natural hardwood, new floors will be 7 1/2” engineered. Perhaps there’s some nuance I’m missing? What’s the issue with laying new floors just like the old ones, same direction with the joists?
3. Underlayment: I’m installing hardwood on the second floor, which used to be carpeted. I love the look and properties of wood, but am concerned about noise transference. Now that the carpets have been removed, I am aware where another person in the house is as I can hear their every step over subfloor. We will be adding rugs over hardwood, and I want to improve noise situation the best I can. Is there any underpayment that can be put under nailed down or glued down hardwood floor? The owner of the hardwood store told me no such thing exists. Is that so?
Thank you all for your help

2023.05.28 04:13 Dragomir_X Dual-booting nightmare with Windows 10
Hi,
I'm trying to dual boot Fedora 38 and Windows 10 on an old HP Envy laptop. I have a Live USB for Fedora and a USB installer for Windows.
I started by installing Fedora, creating a main 500GB partition along with the EFI and Boot partitions. That went fine. All seems to be working fine.
I then install Windows 10, which also seems to be working fine.
The problem is as follows:
I want Fedora to boot by default, show the Grub menu, and give me the option to boot Windows 10 or Fedora.
I want to see the Grub menu on every boot, and I can't do that unless Fedora boots as the default. This is proving difficult. It seems like no matter what I try, UEFI always gives priority to Windows 10. I've tried installing them in a different order, messing with the Grub menu, turning various BIOS settings on and off. It seems like my BIOS doesn't have an option for changing the default OS to boot.
I've tried installing Fedora, then Windows, then Fedora again without deleting the EFI partition in the hopes that Fedora would become the default. It did not. Windows still boots every time unless I intervene.
To clarify:
• Both installations work perfectly fine
• This is purely a personal preference thing
• This isn't a Grub issue. Both show up just fine in the Grub menu.
I've scoured the internet for people with this problem. Most answers just mention things about the Grub menu, but I don't see how that will change anything, since I'm only seeing the Grub menu when Fedora is already booting anyway. I don't want to mash F9 every time I turn on my computer!
Any suggestions?

2023.05.28 04:09 jimboslice1234567 Ipad Pro Lidar
Hey guys, first time on Reddit. Anywho I'm a fabricator that specializes in custom handrails, guardrails, and gates for high end homes. The company is very small (only 5 employees), so I'm constantly running around. I take all the measurements on site, design everything on a CAD program, build it at our shop then install the final product. Roughly 95% of the time everything bolts up and sits just as it should, but cutting apart and redoing a project because a few angles are slightly off takes a lot of time and money. I'm always looking for ways to make our jobs easier and recently took the dive and invested into an ipad pro due to the appeal of the lidar scanner built in. Have any contractors/home owners tried using it to get a model and then design around it? We deal with angles every day, how accurately can the lidar read changes of pitch, ie for stairs going to a landing, walls not plumb, ect? If anyone has any other advice for a young guy fairly new to the contractor scene I'd love to hear it as well! I've heard plenty about reddit and this seemed like the perfect community to ask. Thank you!
