Thank you all for the great advice, and no thanks to the alarmists. I got a lot of DMs offering advice, potential buyers, and asking for updates. I learned a lot, so I figured I'd share. TL;DR at bottom.
My original situation, in a nutshell was that I had $250k in liquid assets to meet $1.3mm in capital commitments over ~2.5-3 years ($100-150k/qtr). I had excess savings of about $100k/yr annually after expenses, taxes, and conservative modelling of RE syndication distributions. Over the 3yr horizon, that is a total of $550k for my $1.3mm in commitments. I was in over my skis.
I was initially calm when I made the post, hoping for some sage advice. I had 1-2 quarters of runway, plenty of assets to sell, as illiquid as they may be, and some additional options depending on how much of my pride I wanted to swallow.
After reading some of the comments, I started to panic, thinking the situation was dire, that I needed to firesale high quality illiquid assets that I had accumulated, and that I would potentially have to wind down my firm and go back to big tech during a recession, and that my wife and baby's lifestyle were at significant risk. That was completely wrong.
The best advice I received, bar none, was to talk to some GPs, explain the situation, and discuss options. I prioritized the largest uncalled commitments and GPs I knew well personally. I spoke to 5 of the 7 fund GPs and here is a summary of what I found out.
1) Every single one of the GPs said I am not the first person to approach them with this issue. There are a lot of LPs, big and small, with liquidity issues.
2) Two of the five GPs I spoke with, without hesitation, asked me how much of my commitment I wanted to take down and said they could make that happen (one immediately on the call, the other a few hours later). One with no cost to me (another investor would assume my remaining calls as part of the fund's final close) and the other for nominal legal fees to assign the remaining interest to the new LP. Neither of these included a haircut or dilution to my current fund position. In total, this reduces my unfunded capital calls by $400k to $900k.
3) While the other three GPs understood and empathized with my situation, they mostly stated that they cannot reduce my commitment without some punitive costs. Some required me to sell full fund stake (including already committed capital) to another LP most likely at a steep discount to FMV, others shared that my existing position would be diluted (two or three different ways based on different LPAs). I did not avail myself of these unattractive options.
4) Even for the GPs that were unable to help, they all mentioned that their deployment pace has slowed, and they expect to call capital over a longer period of time, which buys me some extra time.
5) MOST importantly, almost all the GPs asked me about direct company shares I had, and offered to make introductions to potential buyers for the attractive positions. Most of my positions were too small for the institutional buyers, but a number of the HNW LPs expressed interest. I was able to reach an agreement to sell 1 position for 5% above it's 1Q23 market value (the fund manager marked the position down 40% from the last financing round, the buyer offered 5% over that value after I initially declined to sell), about $350k after taxes. I am also close to selling one more position for a 30% discount to the latest financing round, for ~$250k after taxes.
Original unfunded capital commitment: $1.3mm Current unfunded capital commitment: $900k
Original liquidity: $250k Post-Sale liquidity: $850k (assuming buyer signs the second deal)
TL;DR - Got out of some capital commitments with no penalty, and sold two direct positions leaving me with more liquidity than the unfunded capital commitments.

So I know a lot of people don't really like the introduction or reintroduction of this belt but personally I am really happy they did this. Even though I'm a big fan of HHH, I agree his introduction of the title wasn't stellar. So here's why I like it:
  1. The design has more of a classic look to it and it looks so much better than the WWE/Blueniversal Championships. Yes, it has the big logo on it, but that's what all the company's want nowadays, branding. it's the same with AEW and UFC
  2. Although, I'm not sure if it's confirmed I believe they are bringing back the lineage of the old WHC and associating it to this new belt. I'd much rather have that long history associated with a title, then the couple of years the Universal championship has. I mean honestly, outside of Roman's run, what reigns are really significant? Fin Balor's one day run? Fin is awesome, but that was a pretty crappy way to start off the history.
  3. Tying to the last point, they can just merge them into one WWE Universal Title. When Roman drops it, merge the belts and give us one belt with a redesign of a similar concept. I'm looking at you winged eagle, slap a big logo on that design and give us another redesign. (I only say when Roman drops it, because I don't think it's a good call to have a heel introduce something the fans may really like).
  4. Once both titles are updated, you can do the same for the women's Titles. Get rid of all this RAW/Smackdown garbage, and have Men's and Women's WWE World/ WWE Universal championships. Same name/same prestige. Similar designs but the women have the white strap. I think the white belts look cool, and it's more merch sales.
p.s. Same goes for tag belts. Tag divisions aren't deep enough for multiple belts.

*************************** if this is a secondary title because no one can beat Roman, why is the new champion the guy Roman can't beat? I'm sure many of you are better versed on this, but isn't Seth the only one to beat Roman during his historic run? Seems like the perfect guy to carry the title. it's not like the belt was just handed to someone that didn't beat the champ (looking at you HHH).
  1. Lastly, I've seen a lot of people say it's secondary because the match didn't close the show. I kind of recall people in outrage about the idea of Rhea and Charlotte closing night one at mania. Didn't matter the Rhea was a RR winner who was supposed to main event mania, everyone wanted the Sami/KO/Usos because it was the better story. If it was true for mania, it's true for NOC. They closed with the best story.... And it also seems like Rhea is just fine right now.
So there it is, and damn that's a lot but tonight is when I could take the time to put my thoughts together. Granted some is my wishful thinking, but some seems pretty solid in my opinion. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
