A few weeks ago I asked Crocell, Andrealphus, Vapula and Seere (and later Lucifer too) to help me prepare for a very important exam. I sat for the exam last week and it ended up being much easier than I expected... I think I did well (thank you so much! I am in shocked at how powerful this magick is and how in sync I feel with it, and grateful to have found it!). I wanted to perform a ritual to express gratitude, first mostly out of fear (I'm still trying to deconstruct my beliefs regarding demons), later just out of respect. I have a chronic illness that makes me more susceptible to big life events and I had been feeling in not a very good shape these days, but I didn't want to continue putting off the ritual, so I decided to do a very light, passive offering of candles and incense. I drew the sigil of each demon and lit a candle on top of it (as a way to dedicate the candles to them), and then lit the incense stick. The incense stick WAS ON FIRE, the (biggish!) flame didn't go off until it almost reached the incense holder, and I think that took less than five minutes. I'm pretty sure I also felt a shift in the energy in the room. Could I have performed invocation accidentally? Was this just a manifestation of them accepting the offering?

My husband and I have been together for 5 years as of next month. We got together when we were 16 & 17, were long distance for a couple of months, and when I turned 18 I ran away from an abusive home and moved in with him. His family was really toxic and has continued to do so, but were now on our own and not living with them anymore. When we first got together my husband was obsessed with me - worshipped the ground I walked on, I could do no wrong. As time went on all of the effort and all of the constant love he showed me faded. The dates, the sweet text messages, the constant reassurance and making posts about me all over social media, it all went away. I've tried so so many times to express how I feel like there isn't effort on his part, and how he can help me feel loved and valued by him - and then it turns into him saying I'm calling him a terrible POS boyfriend, and he'll start screaming at me and crying. He also has a very strong history of hitting himself, punching holes in the walls, has wrapped cords to a fan around his neck, hit himself in the head repeatedly with a metal candle holder of mine until he dented it. He gets annoyed with me and doesn't wanna help me deal with my anxiety anymore, he told me it's a problem and an annoyance. When we fight is the only time he makes me feel slightly "loved" but it's after he has a meltdown of screaming, throwing things and then he starts crying.
We adopted two dogs from the animal shelter a few months ago. He picked out the dog who I'm going to be talking about in this story. The dog has severe seperation anxiety, and is really attached to me personally. My husband has hit the dog in the face on multiple occasions. He's also pulled his personal knife from his pocket out on him and held it against his throat. The thing that really got me though is a few days ago he was ignoring the dog growling at him, my dog bit him on the nose, and my husband tried to throw one of my big glass candles at him but my sister got him to stop. He ended up jumping on our bed where my dog was and forcefully choked him for a couple minutes with both hands. I threw his phone at him, and me and my sister were both screaming and he just wouldn't stop. He didn't show any sign of regret and told me I was being dramatic and mad at him for no reason and just wanting to fight with him.
I want to leave and am starting to think of a way out. I just need advice and wanna know if anyone else thinks hes a narcissist.

This is probably gonna be a long one so I suggest grabbing a snack & some tea before settling in for this wild ride. This story takes place between January and July of 2021 and is one of the craziest paranormal experiences I’ve ever had. I had just moved into my Nana’s house after she had passed away the previous December with my 3 kids. My boyfriend and I had just broken up so I was alone in the house when he had the kids. To preface this before we get too far into it, I had lived in this house with my nana many times before in the decade she lived there and I never got any spooky vibes or felt like there was any presence. I am also a practicing witch and have come into contact with many different kinds of spirits throughout my life. (This is important for later) The first week after she passed is pretty much a blur, and nothing seemed off other than the obvious emptiness of my nana no longer being there. My ex had taken the kids for me so that I could get everything sorted out with the funeral home and to give me some time alone to process the grief. Around the two week mark is when I started noticing a change. I am naturally a night owl, and tend to stay up well past midnight consistently. One night, I was sitting in bed journaling and reading tarot when I started to hear foot steps walk the length of my house. I heard them pass through the living room, into the hallway, and stop right outside my door for a few minutes before walking back toward the other end of the house. I tried to write it off as if it were just my cat, but I realized he was laying in bed right next to me, staring at my doorway. This started happening every single night between midnight and 3am when it would finally stop, the entire time I was living in the house. During the day the house was fine for the most part and I spent the day going about my rituals, and whatever mundane tasks needed done. Until it was time to do laundry. The laundry room was located in a part of the house that used to be a garage before it was converted to be a bonus room in the early 2000’s. There were 3 steps down into the room which had previously been my nanas craft room, and I had started to use as a hobby spot where I would draw or whatever. Anyway, the washing machine was at the back of the room. At first I only felt it at night, but I started to feel it during the day eventually. There was something down there. I dreaded going down there because the air was always heavy and uninviting. I don’t really know how else to describe it other than I just knew that whatever had taken residence in my home did not want me in there. I ended up moving the table I had down there up into the kitchen which faced the room & even then I couldn’t sit with my back to the doorway without feeling like I was being stalked by this thing. I started doing almost daily cleanses of the house and nothing I knew to do was getting rid of this thing. I’m gonna apologize in advance for the rest of this story because I might jump around a bit, there’s just so much that was going on every day that I cannot remember the order of events. For a while I had all 3 of my kids sharing one room (ages 1-4 at the time) and we had a spare bedroom that they used as a play room, however my middle child started to have issues going to bed and would throw tantrums every night, keeping my other two kids awake so I moved him into his own room to hopefully help, thinking he was just overstimulated during bedtime. This actually made things worse though, because about 3 nights a week after he had finally fallen asleep he would wake up crying so hard and sounding so scared. I would go into his room to calm him back down and find him standing directly next to his bed facing the wall and looking up at something above him. And every single night he would end up in my bed or in bed with his sibling. My other 2 kids were never affected in this way. Another time, while my children were with their dad I had gone grocery shopping and when I pulled up at home the vibe just felt off before I even stepped into the house. I go inside and search the house, and nothing had been disturbed, it looked just like I left it less than an hour before, but the energy still felt dense and unwelcoming. I checked my room last, and what I found will forever unnerve me. Like I mentioned before, I am a practicing witch and I had a few different altar spaces set up around the house including one in my bedroom.now usually at the time, I had a tarot deck,a stick of palo santo (ethically sourced), a couple candles & a whole bunch of crystals. And I had a very particular way of setting it up. When I entered my room and looked at my altar it had been completely rearranged. My tarot deck, which was usually on the right side of the space was directly in the middle with my crystals ringing it in a perfect circle. The deck was neatly stacked but the top card had been flipped over revealing the “Death” card. My stick of palo santo which I had just got and barely even used, was singed halfway up its length and still warm yet there was no smell anywhere in the house. This spooked me so badly I ended up calling the cops because I had another ex that lived in this town who is actually just bat shit crazy & I was convinced that someone had broken in just to mess with me. The cops arrive and search the house while I explain everything to them & when I told them about my altar they just looked at me and said “we’ll we aren ghostbusters” and left. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was honestly so embarrassed. There had also been times there the lights would cut out on their own, the tv would turn on by itself or the volume would increase to max with no explanation, but that’s the gist of it. All of these things happened consistently until I eventually just sold the house and moved to new town. The woman that bought the house is also a witch and she has informed me since that she has managed to get rid of whatever had taken over my home.

Been lurking on this sub until familiar Friday so I suppose I'm just gonna do a brief introductory? Sorry for possible incorrect tags. I guess to start off with, I've always been drawn to 'witchcraft'. Just inexplicably drawn to herbs, fire, thought to be 'satanic' symbols/runes, crystals, spirits (many instances w/ spirits) and nature. But growing up in a Christian household I was always taught it was satanic, taboo, to avoid it but I kept it secret that I wanted to know more about it. My aunt was a wiccan and my family tree goes back to the saxons, so I cant help but wonder if others in my ancestry also practiced? I dont know, I'm searching for answers and I feel safe in this sub.
I've done two protection spell jars, a money/wisdom spell jar, and burnt a candle for the attraction/abundance of money (I've got my reasons). I like to use my pendulum and a tarot app on my phone. With the app I always take it with a grain of salt 🤷‍♀️ but I'm open to getting a tarot deck but I'd prefer cuter ones if I'm being honest 😅 I ALWAYS cleanse my workspace, tools, ingredients and myself before I do a spell with smoke. Always have selenite, salt and other protective crystals around too. When it comes to spell ingredients I pick them with intuition, same with crystals, unless it's for protection or it has to be specific.
I dont do any deity work, I'm hesitant to do spirit work and I dont say anything outloud because I'm hiding my practice from my sister. Mostly I'm just thinkin real hard on my intentions. I'm trying to learn more but it seems like everywhere I go I'm told to buy a book but theres hundreds of books. And it's really hard to find a site thatll just tell me the properties of herbs/items without a load of ads and stuff.

So I’m a big fan of brutalist architecture. I’ve made a few cylindrical candle holders that I also pour 90% isopropyl alcohol into and light on fire by just using soup takeout containers.
I want to start casting miniature structures and shapes but I’m not sure where to start.
My original thought process was to carve/craft my desired shapes out of high density foam blocks, then place those in melamine frames, pour a silicone mold in, remove the foam model, fill cast with concrete and place back in the frame.
My issue is I have no idea where to find such foam or if there are tutorials out there? Everything I’ve seen on YouTube seems to center either around starting with wood rather than foam or it’s simple stuff like “use a balloon and make bowls!”
I don’t have space for a wood shop so that’s out.
Can anyone recommend a good resource, tutorial, or suppliers for what I’m looking for? Im located in central Texas if that helps any.

So I've spent the better part of well... My whole childhood and young adult life looking over individual items to build my Cosplay for TLA. Only recently have I gotten most of the major components.
I managed to get an actual staff made of Rowan Wood but it needs to be refined into a usable quarterstaff. I have the cloak, it's linen I think but it's not too heavy and I can always buy a better one but it's fairly good quality. I got pants and a tunic.
The last two items have yet to arrive, the boots and undershirt, but aside from that what accessories would I need to complere the look?

This text was originally written as a response to a thread about a specific fictotype, but it's all stuff I've found myself repeating a lot on specific requests, so I figured I'd copypasta and just edit it to be applied more generally. Because I don't want to re-write it to any large degree, I'm just awkwardly replacing the name and pronouns with the word "kin" out of pure laziness.
Appearance:
If you can wear makeup, use it to look more like [kin] (contouring can do amazing things with some practice and a few good tutorials), or wear colors [kin] would enjoy wearing/would resemble [kin].
Style your hair to look like [kin]; even if it's a length or color you can't replicate for reasons, maybe [kin]'s hair does a flippy thing and you can get your hair to do a similar flippy thing, or if [kin]'s hair is side-parted then part your hair on the same side.
If you can wear nail polish and there's a specific color [kin] likes to have [kin]'s nails painted or [kin]'s claws aren't standard-human-nails-colored, paint them that color or just [kin]'s favorite color.
Does [kin] have any tattoos/markings? Assuming they're not distressing to [kin] or you, grab some non-toxic markers/body paints/makeup and illustrate yourself. If they're washable markers/makeup, you'll be able to get rid of the evidence in a hurry if you need to. It doesn't have to be any sort of flawless replica of [kin]'s tattoos/markings, this isn't a competition; the only thing it needs to accomplish is helping you feel better.
Pointy ears? If prosthetic appliances aren't an option at the time but seeing your ears pointed would help, use some bandaids to make temporary ears. Just take the wrapper and paper backing off, wrap that sh*t over itself like an awareness ribbon logo so that the sticky is on the inside and apply the crossed "arms" of the bandaid to the backside of the ear so the point looks nice from the front. ^_^
Clothing:
Wear clothes [kin] would like, or similar to what [kin] wears, or that resemble [kin]'s appearance in some way, depending on what's available to you. If [kin]'s a jean jacket [kin], maybe get a jean jacket. If [kin]'s a suit-and-tie [kin], a button-down shirt would be a start. If [kin] prefers mismatched socks, mismatch your socks. If [kin]'s clothes are patched, add patches to your own. If [kin] has scales, you can look for clothes made with scale-print fabric or add scales to plain clothes with fabric paint by making a stencil out of cardstock or a stamp out of craft foam. If [kin] has wings, perhaps paint [kin]'s wings on the back of a sweatshirt to wear, or find/make a shawl that reminds you of those wings.
You can pick accessories similar to [kin]'s or that [kin] would like. If [kin] has a favorite hat, you may be able to find a hat like it. If [kin] has a specific scarf [kin] wears, you might be able to find or make something similar. If there's a piece of jewelry that's important to [kin], perhaps you can find a similar item. If [kin] has piercings that you can't or wouldn't otherwise want to get, fake-piercing jewelry is widely available in accessory stores and (in the US at least) even easier to find around Halloween. If [kin] has horns, try putting hair clips that have a *little* weight on the places on your head where [kin]'s horns would be. Going back to wings, if [kin]'s wings tend to be heavy, then a small or lightly packed backpack may help replicate the feeling (nothing too heavy, we don't want to get hurt).
Environment:
If you can redecorate to match [kin]'s environment or an environment [kin] would be comfy in, more power to ya. If you can't go all out, smaller changes can help, too. Hanging pictures on your walls that [kin] would hang, maybe pictures you remember in [kin]'s living space or pictures of places or people important to [kin], can help - maybe find some nice fanart online and print it, or order a print from the artist if you can.
Listen to music [kin] likes! On your headphones if you have to, or out loud if you can - music is very therapeutic.
Is there a smell that puts you in [kin]-mode? Maybe there's a scent that's very important to [kin] or makes [kin] very happy. Bring that smell into your space, whether it's a perfume, an air freshener, a scent diffuser with essential oils, a room spray, or a scented jar candle left unlit with the lid off. Scent is a powerful thing, and your nose knows.
Does [kin] have a pet, or is there a pet you know [kin] wants? Don't buy a real pet just because it's what [kin] has/wants, that's not fair to the animal, but find a way to represent [kin]'s pet in your environment. Maybe a picture of that pet, or a plushie that looks kind of like it. You could even make your own. ^_^
Food:
Most non-human beings/creatures/etc have dietary needs and habits that differ from a biological human's, some but not all of which are safe for a human body to eat or live on long term. Raw meats, for example, need to be handled extremely carefully and prepared in very precise ways in order to be safe to eat for a human body, so it's usually not a good idea to do so without the right preparation. Some kintypes eat things that a human body just can't properly handle no matter how it's prepared, such as a being/creature that eats rocks/crystals or ingests metal as a normal part of their diet. Some even subsist on things that don't exist in our universe at all currently (I'm looking at you, energon).
So, what do?
Make something that's safe for a human body that resembles a not-safe-for-human-consumption food that your kintype would likely eat!
Using the arbitrary example of a machinekin who's kinself eats scrap metal, one might get candy molds in the shape of machine parts or hardware and use them with melting chocolate/candy to loosely replicate scrap metal in an edible form. Places that sell cake decorating stuff will often have metallic food coloring sprays along with their regular colors, which can definitely make candy gears much more realistic.
On the example of rocks and crystals, isomalt sugar can be made into lovely crystals that are safe to eat and candy meant to look like pebbles and gravel are pretty common (at least in the US market). One could also use the melting candy idea from above with crystal or gem shaped molds, it would look nice with shiny food coloring spray in colors. Rock candy is also a thing (the candy crystal cluster on a wooden stick) and typically inexpensive when you find it in stores.
For a kintype who eats sticks/trees or bones, crunchy pretzels could potentially be a good human-body-safe substitute, especially pretzel sticks and rods. Not only are there numerous halloween snack recipes out there to decorate them to resemble bones, they have a solid "crunch" as you grind them between your teeth and can be snapped nicely in your hands if your kinself tends to break the bones/branches apart before eating them. Also, if you compare a cross-section of a human long-bone to a cross-section of a crunchy pretzel rod, you'll notice a distinct visual similarity in their inner structures.
For more carnivorous kintypes, properly cooked animal proteins are something a human body can definitely handle. If your kinself generally only eats their meat raw, look at the sensory traits from the eating-raw-meat experience and find safe ways to replicate those traits. Is the raw meat extra juicy? Maybe give it a good marinade before you cook it, or add sauce to it after. Is there a certain scent to your kinself's preferred meat? Experiment with sauces, marinades, and seasonings on various meats to get as close as you can to it. Carnivorous kintype but not exactly a "meat" person in this life? Plant-based meat-substitutes are more widely available and more diverse on the market than ever before and could make a great place to start, and don't forget our old friend tofu. Tofu honestly is as versatile as the jokes imply. ^_^
Is your kintype stuck with a warm, liquid protein diet while everyone around you is enjoying lamb chops and Mallowmars? Not to fear, blood-drinkers, you also have options. u/Sea-Bee1133 and others have made suggestions like wine (if you're legal), cranberry juice, and tomato juice, and included the info that cornstarch or thickening powders sold in stores can be used to thicken beverages to a more blood-like consistency.
Kintype eats bugs? [Uh, no need to share your snacks with me! I'm good, but thanks. ^_^;;] While lots of bugs are or can be made safe for human consumption (I don't have a list of which, if anyone knows of a reliable reference please put a link in the comments), there are a lot of candies on the market that resemble bugs and candy recipes that can be made to look like bugs. Halloween recipe websites tend to have tons of treats, savory and sweet, that can be made to look like bugs in their repertoire. Squid-ink pasta and noodles also look kinda wormy and could be made "slimy" by tossing them with a bit of butter or olive oil after draining them.
Honestly, Halloween recipe websites keep coming up as good resources for stuff. Bones? Look up Halloween recipes. Blood? Look up Halloween recipes. Human flesh? Look up Halloween recipes. Bugs? Look up Halloween recipes. I'm noticing a trend. If you know of any especially good sites, please hook me up with a link.
What about things that don't exist in our known-universe currently?
Let's look at liquid energon: Not an amazing idea, but if one had a slightly cloudy beverage (translucent rather than transparent or opaque), there are cups with lights built into the bottom and light-up "ice cubes" designed for putting into beverages that could add color and glow. Glow sticks, while technically an available option that would do the job of adding color and glow, do have the potential to leak if the outer case gets damaged and that would immediately make food/drink that it touches completely unsafe to consume. On those specific grounds, I can't recommend glow sticks; safety first.
How about gagh, a staple of Klingon comfort food? While there's no serving it live, squid-ink udon noodles do look like a smaller-scale gagh and are completely safe for a human body to eat. Make it a bit slimy by tossing it with a bit of butter or olive oil after you drain it, or try to get Nanna B'Etor and great-Aunt Lursa to share the family's secret recipe for sauce to go on it. The choice is yours. ^_^
Also, bread sculpting is amazing, and any bread sculpture could potentially have fillings in it like a calzone. If you feel the need to rend the flesh of mankind with tooth and claw and feel the hot blood and organs squoosh out, make a calzone shaped like a little guy with pepperoni pizza toppings or something. [BBQ chicken calzone guy sounds amazing, tbh. ^_^;;]

Hello all! Today I went to a mall for the first time since pre-COVID. I wanted to check out a new metaphysical store in the area since my usual one had moved. Turns out, they’re in a mall. The metaphysical store was wonderful and I found out it’s family and BIPOC owned. I’m excited to support them again! While I was there, I stopped into a few stores and I noticed there were a lot of little things that gave me witchy vibes, but I didn’t think much of it until I got into the book store (a chain that many in the US have probably heard of) and it was everywhere! I found this really cool book about queer religious figures that have been erased throughout the years, Queer Magic by Thomas Prower. When I opened the book, I read about these 3 queer Goddesses who had been revered until a God offered them up as temptation and it all spirals from there…because the male gaze taints them spiritually and they are no longer holy, I guess? I’m excited to read more. That was my first stop, and while I was looking around, I noticed a table of magic books: herb magic, crystal magic, candle magic, moon magic and others. After that, there was a display with about 12 witchy romances. I’ve had a couple of those books on my TBR list, so I noted that. Then I found a huge discount section with more magic stuff. You could buy crystals in a box, pendulums, tarot decks, palm reading books, fortune telling books, and there was a Goddess magic book I own and it was cheaper there than where I bought it. On my walk out, I found a mini crystal ball, a moon phase notebook and couple mini spell books.
I feel conflicted! On one hand, it’s cool to see my spirituality around me, normalizing it. As a kid who longed to be a witch and secretly mixed up my own “potions” with grass, sticks, rocks, in any outdoor space away from my family of origin; I think it would have helped me find my own craft much more easily if I had seen it around me like in the bookstore. Wicca and Goddess work have been a big piece of healing complex childhood trauma, so I would have preferred to find my Wiccan identity much earlier. On the other hand, it feels like capitalism is exploiting this really meaningful part of my identity. We were literally burned to death (I know it’s more complex than that, any dissenting person who didn’t fit the cis-het traditional gender stereotype was murdered in the name of witchcraft), and now we’re trendy? Wtf happened?
I apologize if I’m late to the party on this. I gave up all my social media the day after the 2016 election, but I gained Reddit and found wonderful communities like you all. So, I don’t know how to feel. Similar to how Pride started as a riot and now rainbows are put everywhere in June for financial gain, because apparently our money isn’t dirty anymore (I’m bi and gender queer she/her &they/them)? But violence and hate continue around us, but corporations get to look good for a month and like they aren’t funneling money into politicians who promote hate…but I think about all of those young closeted kids who get to go into a store in June and see that love and their queerness celebrated, even if some assholes are profiting off it…maybe that’s enough to keep them going? And now our craft is being sold to us by corporations who don’t know anything about Wicca and Witches…but maybe a child who is writing stories about witches in her diary and mixing potions out of grass and dirt in their backyard feels safer because of this?

I had to list this one because I just adore the fall and everything that comes with it. My birthday is in October too so it's always been my favorite month. I much prefer fall and winter over a muggy humid summer. In the cooler seasons there's always ways to warm up.

I'm good at fixing electronics and I'm quite nerdy in that aspect. So if something breaks I can fix it ;) I'm also good with my hands and quite inclined mechanically. Just the other day I was over at my elderly neighbor's barn helping him put a toolbox on his truck.
• Music
I love genres such as classic rock, alternative rock, psychedelic rock, gothic rock, heavy metal, punk, post punk, hardcore, etc. My current favorite bands are The Cure and Joy Division/New Order. But I like tons of older and newer bands as well. such as: Bauhaus, Velvet Underground, Type O Negative, Nirvana, Rush, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, the Wipers, Cream, MC5, Stooges, 13th Floor Elevators, Screaming Trees, Green Day, Mountain, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Jefferson Airplane, etc.
• Cooking and Baking
I like to cook and learn new recipes, as well as bake fun things too! It's always nice when the house feels nice and cozy and smells good. I appreciate the simple pleasures in life, a cozy cup of tea and music or a movie in bed or sitting outside is so nice! I believe in veganism and I've been trying to become more vegan lately in what I eat.
• Animals
I love animals of all types, and I currently have an older cat which I adore to death! We rescued her from the local shelter. She's the sweetest thing. (I think I love her more than anyone in the house lol, she just makes me so happy) :) I also don't kill insects or bugs, I catch and release them outside.
• Art
I enjoy art, both creating it from time to time such as drawing, and admiring other peoples work. There's just something so fun about it and seeing things so beautiful.
• Houseplants
I love houseplants and really anything nature related and also spiritual such as crystals and rocks. I love to help my mom in caring for all of our plants and also gardening outside when its a good growing season. Its fun! I also like cottage core and goblin core type vibes and enjoy sitting out on the deck burning incense, its peaceful :)
• Cozy video games
I'm not a hardcore gamer really, but I enjoy simple and fun cozy relaxing games such as Stardew valley and Minecraft. :)
• Photography
I love to shoot with my Nikon D5500 D200 and I've really been enjoying taking photos of my cat and nature landscapes! This includes closeups, photos of trees, the fields, etc. I've been working a lot on composition, long exposures, getting nice blurred backgrounds, depth of field, etc. It's interesting to me.

Hi all! Any ideas for re-embracing love, romance and sensuality? I’ve been more or less single for the past four years and it’s been okay… Mostly I thrive off my platonic relationships but even those have been lacking lately. I’m not necessarily trying to develop a relationship, but maybe cultivate a sensual and erotic relationship with myself. So I’m going to create an altar for sensuality and romance, putting rose crystals, rose petals, silks, velvets, red candles, honey.. any other suggestions? Or rituals I can do to build myself up.
