I've posted my full bottles here before but I've been building up my decant collection. Here is what I have so far followed by some unhelpful reviews:
BOTTOM ROW (LEFT TO RIGHT)
1) Xerjoff 40 Knots- jerkoff scent from the jerkoff house. It’s a dark cola, not a sea breeze. It’s a pretentious billionaire who uses poor people as biomatter to fuel his boat, not a day at the beach.
2) Roja A Midsummer's Dream- this is like spending midsummer in an old person's closet. He has mothballs to keep the moths away and to keep his captives nauseous so they can’t make noise.
3) Louis Vutton Meteore- FULL BOTTLE SHORT LIST. Awesome scent, like Azzaro Chrome that doesn’t come from a rack store. Fresh and a little metallic, like an extra terrestrial who wears Timberlands.
4) Louis Vutton Afternoon Swim- FULL BOTTLE SHORT LIST. Is that a little armpit funk at the top of this? If it is, I don’t care because it smooths out into a citrusy bomb, giving it good longevity for me. It’s the funk that keeps it Crunk.
5) Tom Ford Costa Azzura- haven’t tried yet… Pretentious name,.plus, Italy fought against us in WWII
6) Parfums de Marley Greenley- very refreshing ok scent. It’s your typical fresh spiked with lovely green apple at the top. I’d buy it as a cheapie, not at the PdM price tag.
7) Creed Millesime Imperiale- f*** you, this is a Silver Mountain Water citrus flanker despite what these fragrance nerds out here say. “Oh but it’s not, it has a subtle..blah, blah, blah” cut the BS. It’s SMW with more fruit and less performance.
8) Goldfield and Banks Bohemian Lime- FULL BOTTLE SHORT LIST. This is a rich guy on his yacht who wears light linen pants and lets the kids play when at sea. This is a laid back rich guy, not the biomatter rich guy from 40 Knots.
9) Mancera Cedrat Boise Intense- it’s like Cedrat Boise… but Intense. It really is aptly named. It’s smokier and longer lasting. The smokiness has a bit of a burnt rubber smell..I don’t hate it. Smells like a Band Aid.
10) Roja Oceania- citrus and aquatic battle it out for supremacy. They both lose and we go home bored.
11) Roja Enigma- FULL BOTTLE SHORTLIST. This is Roja’s Pretentious BS fighting for a good cause. It's cola that sparkles more as time goes on. Great for the winter. People will automatically have an inferiority complex if they smell this on you.
TOP ROW:
12) Replica Mathca Meditation- it’s good, I guess. It definitely has an herbal note but it doesn’t make me feel like meditating.
13) Replica Sailing Day- THIS is what 40 Knots should smell like. It’s deep blue and refreshing. It also lasts 5 minutes. The 2nd-best Replica behind At the Barber’s.
14) City Rhythm Miami- if you smelled this in Miami, it would cloy you out of the state. Nice sweet scent but a little too deep for Miami swamp ass.
15) Terre d’Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver- this is like Tom Ford Grey Vetiver’s disappointing brother. You don’t hate him but you don’t mention him to your friends because his existence is so underwhelming.
16) Roja Vetiver- this is a smokier Grey Vetiver. It’s Grey Vetiver’s 2nd brother who ended up going away to art college and now lives a Bohemian lifestyle. He’s just kind of there not offending anyone but not taking a stand for anything either.
17) Tom Ford Fougere d'Argent- this is Beau de Jour’s more laid-back brother. He’s a little smoother, a little less serious than BdJ but you may want to hang out with him more because he’s more accepting.
18) Creed Viking- this is a middle-aged man who thinks trading Crypto currency makes you an alpha male. He looks for wives on foreign bride directories.
19) Creed Erolfa, Himalaya, Royal Water, Bois de Porugal- haven’t tried yet.
20) Parfum de Marley Galloway and Ispazon- haven’t tried… PdM has the most meaningless, Pretentious names.
21) PdM Pegasus- this is Creed Original Santal’s inferior twin. It got the shitty half of the DNA strand. It is only saved by the fact that the DNA strand is really good, so its floor is high.
22) MFK 724- interesting scent.. floral and aquatics battle for supremacy. The battle creates a beautiful symphony. It’s probably not worth the MFK price but it smells and performs good.
23) Louis Vutton L’Immensite- FULL BOTTLE SHORT LIST. I haven’t smelled a bad LV scent yet. This one reminds me a lot of Bohemian Lime. When it gets warmer, I’m going to wear this and BL on alternating days to see the difference.
24) Louis Vutton L’Orage- haven’t tried yet, they misspelled Orange.

The people of Aluwa, called the ani’Aluwa in the gla’Aluwa language, first appear in the archeological record in subtle signs. New tools appear, improvements on old methods of fishing and farming. Images of uncertain meaning but familiar feeling are carved into and painted onto the walls of caves. Goods from distant lands are found, indicating the birth of an extensive trade network. In Aluwa oral tradition, this was a time of legend, when monsters swam through flooded forests, stars danced in the sky and changed their patterns, and men intermarried with spirits to birth mighty heroes. Scientifically speaking, the emergence of the ani’Aluwa onto the world stage seems to have been somewhat less dramatic – an intermingling of the peoples of the coast and the peoples of the river, who shared their knowledge and their resources and thus created a new society, able to outcompete their less stable or prosperous neighbors.
Geography
Aluwa is positioned near the center of Horea, with the colder forests of Tritonea to the north, the dry steppes of Xanthea to the west, and the warmer jungles of Gorgonea to the south and east. This central location is mirrored in its people, made up of shared Gorgonean, Tritonean, and Xanthean ancestry. The Aluwa heartland lies on the north coast of the Gorgonean inland sea that the ani’Aluwa call Iteha, with their greatest population density lying along the banks of the Plombalo River. The climate is warm, with hot summers, mild winters, and distinct springs and autumns. Most of the land is covered in oak forests, with mesquite, hickory, sycamore, elm, and cedar trees also common. Toward the west, the tree cover begins to peter out into open prairie.
Food
The ani’Aluwa of this time, as throughout history, got most of their sustenance through a combination of fishing and agriculture, although they also continued more ancient practices of hunting and gathering. Traditionally, agriculture was handled by women, while men went out to hunt, gather, and fish. Agriculture was primarily focused on the intercropped three sisters of corn, beans, and squash, but peppers, sweet potatoes, cassava, and even turkeys had been brought in by trade with more southerly Gorgonean peoples. Their farms lay along the Plombalo and other, smaller rivers that water Aluwa, or further afield raised up among basic irrigation canals. The Aluwa women worked with mattocks and sickles, along with the new invention of hoes. Many of these tools, especially the hoes, had their cutting edges made of sharp clam or whelk shells, a sign of the interdependence of the riverine and coastal Aluwa communities. Others were made of flint, which is common in the area. Only a very few tools of any sort were made of copper or bronze. In the winter, people would cover themselves with warmer deerskin pants and shirts – winters were mild and snow was rare, but it still did get cold enough to be uncomfortable in nothing but a loincloth.
The early ani’Aluwa were great workers of wood, chopping down trees with simple adzes and using their basic carpentry knowledge to craft wigwam-like houses out of flexible young saplings covered in bark. Their villages consisted of many such houses, surrounded by farmland cleared out of the forest. The villages were thought of as a feminine space, governed by matrilineal elders, while the wilderness was a masculine space, inhabited only by wandering hunter-gatherers. Traditionally, when a boy reached maturity, he would leave his home village behind, joining a new village where he would find a wife to marry (intratribal marriages being taboo).
Little is known about early Aluwa spirituality. Followers of Ahiye will declare that it is the oldest religion in the world, worshipped by the first humans, but there is little archeological evidence for much of the religion’s practices at this time. Religious objects, including those of distinctly female figures, have been found on hills and manmade mounds of dirt or stone, indicating belief in some sort of female sky deity. In places without natural caves, the ani’Aluwa would build artificial “caves” out of limestone blocks, often brought in from miles away – an example of their knowledge of basic masonry, even if they preferred wood in their other constructions. However, it seems that at the time the reverence of local spirits was more important to the ani’Aluwa, with many small shrines devoted to trees and landmarks being scattered across the land.
Many of the mystical symbols found in ancient Aluwa sacred places mirror the patterns of the constellations. Some of the earliest myths of the ani’Aluwa were linked to these constellations they drew. • The 30th anniversary Juan de Fuca Festival begins today, bringing together more than 60 acts on five stages and dozens of artisan and food vendors at the free street fair in Port Angeles.
The Vern Burton Community Center and grounds, 308 E. Fourth St., is the hub for the celebration of music and art from around the region and beyond.
The street fair, which will also showcase 18 Juan de Fuca debut artisans — local entrepreneurs vending for the first time — will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Sunday.

ShrimpFest began 30 years ago to celebrate the plentiful Hood Canal Spot Shrimp and raise funds for such local causes as schools, food banks and animal rescues. This year it has a new name: the Hood Canal Fjord Fest.

The street fair, which will also showcase 18 Juan de Fuca debut artisans — local entrepreneurs vending for the first time — will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Sunday.

I've found myself in a bit of a pickle, caught up in the never-ending abyss of decision paralysis. You see, I've had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful country more than 7 times —exploring nearly all the holiday islands and some mainland cities. But this time around, things are extra special because my girlfriend is joining me. I've got a plan to be a digital nomad in Spain down the line, and this upcoming 9-10 day holiday in July is my shot at introducing her to the captivating Spanish vibe!
After considering the flight options and ruling out some popular choices (even though Barcelona is my all-time favorite, I'm yearning for a fresh experience on the mainland), I've narrowed it down to two options:
1.) Malaga 2.) Valencia
But here's the deal, folks. I've been going back and forth on this so much that it feels like I'm endlessly scrolling through online forums without any breakthrough.

- We'll spend the majority of our stay in a beachfront apartment, right on the best city beach.
- During the day, we'll kick back and relax on a well-maintained, spacious sandy beach, preferably one buzzing with bars and restaurants where other young adults (people in their 20s and 30s) hang out.
- Come nightfall, we'll take leisurely strolls through the charming old town, checking out historical sites and unique museums.
- We'll rent a car for a few days, giving us the freedom to explore hidden gems and less crowded remote beaches in the surrounding areas.
- And of course, we'll take 1 or 2 day trips to visit top attractions within a range of about 150 kilometers. (Think of Granada -Alhambra- as an example).
- I absolutely loved the city beaches of Barceloneta (BCN), Las Canteras (Gran Canaria), and Platja de Can Pastilla (Mallorca).
- Almuñécar, on the other hand, was a tad underwhelming for me in terms of boredom.
- I came across some reviews mentioning that Playa de la Malagueta in Malaga can be a bit dirty, both the water and the sand. Similar remarks were made about Barceloneta, but I found its cleanliness and tidiness just acceptable.
- Personally, I lean more towards sightseeing rather than immersing myself in Spanish "nature", since I prefer lush vegetation.

I have not included the other necessary Episode Two Knights and the Holy Sword since it doesn't seem important to the Main story. (Sorry, Deirdre and Annabel, but brief cameos in The Ogre Wars don't count for much.) If it ends up being important to ver. 2.0's plot, I'll add it in the next update. Episodes like the IDA ones and the Ocean Palace stuff have been omitted for similar reasons. Again, if they turn out to be important, I'll add them.

- In the beginning, the primal forces of Order and Chaos fought. (That old chestnut.) The resulting Dimensional Vortex dispersed Chaos throughout the universe, while Order coalesced into matter, I guess. Chaos, in some sense, is still pissed about things ending up less than chaotic, apparently. (Another old chestnut.)
- In a time before written history, Titans rule the world. They create a mystical sword out of mystical rock, as people are wont to do. (It eventually winds up in the hands of a human, King Parsifal.)
- ~ 20,000 y.a., Antiquity consisted of various human tribes getting along just fine — which is how you know this is fiction — and the planet’s power came from the four Elementals: Salamander (fire) Sylph (wind) Gnome (earth) and Undine (water). [Note: If there had been a “heart” elemental, they could have summoned Captain Planet.]
- At some point, they must have expired, scattering Prisma: shards of their corpses which contain fragments of their power. [The reason for this would be altered to be the Elementals sacrificing themselves to stop Phantom.] The four Elemental Arms are also created from their leftover energy.
- King Palsifal declares war on another nation, or else they declare war on his nation first. During the course of the war, a guardian of the forest, is killed. This drives his wife, formerly the Green Witch, Reptires, mad with grief. She becomes the Dark Witch, being taken over by the malevolent spirit of the Shadow Witch.
- Reptires, holding a grudge against King Palsifal, slays his wife and son. His grief is immense. Failing to stop the royal family's doom, Cyrus - a royal retainer from the East - is defeated and cursed with the form of a frog.
- Over thousands of years, it seems likely that some humans grew closer to nature - growing to resemble beasts (beastfolk) - while others used Prisma to build modern civilization to mimic the cities they’d known prior to the Elementals’ destruction. This caused considerable friction between the humans and beastfolk, the former valuing the power of Prisma and the latter having some innate elemental power.
- ~ 3,000 years before the present, the Ogre Clans - led by Zennon atop Ogre Spike - and the Thunder King make war. The war may well have started when the Thunder King "stole Zennon's girl," Feiona (which I take to mean either Zennon's wife or daughter). Together, they have a son, Alfaldo. (Methinks I know where Feinne and Aldo's respective names derive from.) At some point, Feiona passes away.
- During the course of the war, Alfaldo is slain by the ogre clan. The Thunder King kills Zennon with Palsifal's holy blade. In this moment, the collective rage of the ogres slain that day attach themselves to the king’s sword, possessing it - transforming it into the cursed blade Ogre Rancorem.
- At some point after the war, Ogre Rancorem was placed at the base of the World Tree, turning it into a malevolent plant, for some reason. In response, people build the Dogma Tower was built to prevent the tree from growing above ground and spreading evil.
- 1 AD, the Kingdom of Miglance is founded, apparently beginning the current calendar. Seven kings into the family's reign, we reach the Present Day.
- 300 AD, the Present. I suppose Aldo and Fienne were not originally a part of this era’s original timeline. [In the updated timeline, obviously, The Player Timeline goes down when the Beast King makes off with Feinne.] However, come to think of it, the cat - Sorik - that would be Kyros did wander into an inexplicable portal from that time period. (I guess that really kicked everything time-altering off. Whether that event is part of the Original Timeline, I guess is up to interpretation.)
- ~700 AD, Prisma in general began to noticeably lose power. So, Xeno Prisma was invented 400 years before the Future era. Therefore, it would have been around 700 AD.
- The surface of the planet, now absent working Prisma, loses the ability to sustain enough energy to support civilization, becoming inhospitable for human beings. (What became of the Beastfolk is difficult to say, but it’s hard to imagine they weathered the change well, tied to nature as they were.) Luckily, with Xeno Prisma, humans figure out how to lift islands into the sky. They subsist there amidst the clouds, with increasingly futuristic technology, for about four centuries.
- Xeno Prisma works well for about four centuries, but its synthetic nature meant it was a solution with an end date. And the end date would result in the destruction of all space and time: the Timequake.
- 1100 AD, Geo Prisma, the proposed solution Professor Chronos devised to prevent inherent time-quake set to materialize from Xeno Prisma’s destruction, was invented.
- At some point, Chronos created the Synth Humans as well. He created two prototypes, Galliard and Helena, formerly human lovers. Their memories are wiped in the process.
- Chronos married Professor Madoka and had two children, Eden (EE-den) and Cecile (siss-EEL). Sorik the Cat inexplicably arrived via a wormhole from 300 AD. Chronos names it Kyros and it forms a bond with the family as its pet.
- Eden, and years later, his newborn sister, Cecile, are implanted with Alpha Geo, bits of a prototype of Geo Prisma. Cecile’s bit is developed three years after Eden’s, and is seen as an improvement.
- Despite the professor’s best efforts, the Geo Prisma doesn’t work as planned, and a time warp occurs, (though at least it wasn’t the bigger, universe-ending type). Chronos, his wife, his two children, and his cat are thrown across time and space. (I may be imagining this, but I could have sworn Chronos would later say that the time warp in question was initiated on purpose so that Chronos could go back 20,000 years to study the Elementals directly.)
- If one imagines the original timeline going on after the Chronos family time warp, it must not have lasted too much longer as the Xeno Prisma would have shortly failed and destroyed everything. If not, the timeline ends after the Chronos family exit via the time warp. I suppose it doesn't matter for our purposes.

The events prior to player control follow. I will clearly mark when the player's journey begins.
- Chronos lands in Antiquity, and there sets about his plan to destroy the future timeline in order to prevent the destruction of all space and time. (His wife, Madoka, I don’t know - I think we’re to assume she died, but I highly doubt that.)
- Eden saved Cecile and Kyros, somehow, during the time warp, dooming himself to 16 years of isolation. During that time, he was transformed by chaos (I think) into an evil titan monster: Chronos Menas. You know how it is.
- Cecile and Kyros together arrive in 284 AD, in the Moonlight Forest, and taken in by the Mayor acting as their grandfather — but not before Cecile turns Kyros into a human who resembles her brother, using the power to the Alpha Geo imbeded in her. In doing so, Kyros loses his cat memory, because as every alchemist knows, creation can only come from sacrifice. The Mayor names the boy who resembles Eden “Aldo” and Cecile “Fienne”. (AHL-do and FEE-nay.)
- A few years later, when Fienne is a young girl, she was picking mushrooms in the forest and met Altena - part of the beastfolk royal family - who had sprained her ankle. Feinne healed it with her Alpha Geo powers, and she and Altena become fast friends. Only later, after Aldo had to break up a confrontation between them and some village bullies, are they told to not see one another anymore.
- At some point prior to 300 AD, a young Aldo comes into possession of the corrupted sword Ogre Rancorem. The details are sparse, but apparently the beast within harbors some special hatred for Aldo. Rancorem, unhappy that an alternate version of the holy sword it inhabits exists in this same timeline, decides to play the long game and someday use Aldo to bring Zennon and the other ogres, along with the Thunder King, into this timeline. Why? To make it that the holy sword is destroyed, and, in the process, to have its revenge against the Thunder King.

This is the updated timeline, which is to say the series of events from the perspective of Aldo, time-hopping as he does. In other words, from here on, I’m writing about the sequence of events that follows the game’s events as one plays through them.

Part 1: The Cat Beyond Time and Space

- It’s 300 AD and Aldo (formerly the cat Sorik/Kyros, now physically an Eden clone) is a guard of the town of Baruoki in the Kingdom of Miglance. Somehow, he has come into possession of Ogre Rancorem, and even though he’s unable to unsheathe it, he takes it with him everywhere. “Cecile,” now going by “Feinne,” doesn’t remember anything from the original timeline, either, owing to her having been an infant during the time hop. Feinne’s role in society is to collect mushrooms and make Aldo lunch.
- Their cat, Varuo, wanders into a random portal (much as Sorik did in the Original Timeline). Aldo follows, meeting the Dream Master at the Gallery of Dreams. He takes this all in stride, considering what a massive discovery it is.
- The Beast King, Guildna, and his henchman, Vares, barge into the Mayor’s house and kidnap Feinne in order to use her dormant power to rule the world. (Somehow! The Mayor is the most powerful fighter in the game! He trains Aldo, afterward! How is no one finding this odd?) Vares breaks some poor guy’s neck during the course of all this, but I guess no one knew the guy because no one mentions him ever again.
- Giving chase, Aldo is easily defeated by Guildna. Needing Aldo alive, Ogre Rancorem awakens in order to defend him. While it is not enough to win outright against Guildna - despite going of far as to awaken the Another Force power - the Beast King spares Aldo “in deference” to Ogre Rancorem.
- After his grandfather, the most powerful character in the game (Hello?), teaches him some fighting techniques, Aldo is accosted by Vares in the Moonlight Forest. Though Aldo wins the duel, Vares summons a couple chimera to hunt him down. Mysteriously, before the monsters can attack Aldo, a portal appears just in time to transport him to safety.
- Prior to Aldo’s arrival in Elzion, things proceed much as they did in the Original Timeline. As a reminder: the Prisma lose their power, the earth spoils, Xeno Prisma is invented and allows humans to exist on floating islands, then Xeno Prisma begins to dangerously lose power around 1100 AD. Professor Chronos and his wife, Professor Madoka, begin to construct Geo Prisma to counteract Xeno Prisma’s world-ending destruction, they put Alpha Geo bits into their children Eden and Cecile, and the whole family - including their cat, Kyros - is sucked into a dimensional vortex.
- After the disappearance of the Chronos family, the Synth Humans, apparently discriminated against and mistreated by regular human meatbags, violently revolt, led by Galliard. Initially, he only targets the human military, and only enough to attempt to force peace talks.
- The Rebellion Circuits - implanted in many Synth Humans by the mysterious Cardinal Vestige - activate and drive Synths mad with rage for humanity. The Cardinal Vestige, a clandestine group with the goal of humanity's survival no matter the cost, initiated the rebellion so that humanity would fight with Synth Humans instead of fighting amongst themselves (as humans are wont to do).
- Though Helena and Galliard were not implanted with Rebellion Circuits, the latter decides to not abandon his chipped comrades. (Galliard and Helena seem to be aware of the inevitable timequake that will occur when Xeno Prisma fails, and perhaps also fight to prevent this, but I'm unsure on that point.)
- Around this time, before or after the rebellion begins, the Administrator is chosen to lead Elzion by a quantum computer.
- During a Synth Human raid in 1090, Amy's mother is killed. Amy, a blacksmith's daughter and bad cook, swears revenge. She eventually becomes the star fighter for humanity.
- In 1100 AD Elzion, Aldo - arriving out of the wormhole from 300 AD - meets both Amy and KMS android Riica. With help from Amy's brilliant friend Sebastia, the granddaughter of KMS's chairman, they go on to defeat the leader of the Synth Humans, Galliard. Helena mourns his death, but chooses not to fight the party, desiring as she always has a peaceful co-existence with humans.
- The future timeline is suddenly erased, along with Amy and everyone else. As Aldo gazes across the ruins of humanity, the Phantom appears and tells him that it’s essential that Aldo travel far back in time to stop someone from accomplishing this destruction. Aldo agrees to do so, and enters the portal that the Phantom generates for him. Little does Aldo know, the Phantom is an agent of Chaos, and they want the deteriorating Xeno Prisma to destroy all of time and space.
- Professor Chronos, working in Antiquity, is the one who has built a quantum computer in order to erase the Future Timeline, thereby preventing the Xeno Prisma from blowing up… at the small cost of the existence of countless thousands of people.
- Aldo and Riica wind up in Antiquity, about 20,000 years ago, and dispel a black miasma controlling the elemental Salamander. The elemental tells the pair that he senses a darkness coming from Palsifal Castle.
- Indeed, the king has lost his wits, having been led astray by the Oracle/Chronos. To reiterate: the professor is working to erase the future in which Xeno Prisma destroys all of space and time. “Difficult problems call for difficult solutions” type, he is.
- King Palsifal won’t hear Aldo out because he wants his wife and kid back, and most likely wants to change the timeline to prevent their untimely deaths at the hand of the crazed witch. He teleports Aldo and Riica to a swamp, where they meet Frog Cyrus, the former human royal retainer who has been transformed an amphibian by the aforementioned witch. He joins the party in order to try and make the king see reason.
- The three head to the Tower of Time, an invention of the Oracle/Chronos, and find it is both a synthetic living organism and the quantum computer mentioned earlier. (“Visus,” it’s called, for some reason.)
- They permanently shut the computer down, ruining the Oracle’s schemes and restoring the Future. The Phantom then reappears and thanks Aldo making things so that the Xeno Prisma can eventually destroy all of time and space, which shocks the party. He also calls Aldo “kit of Chronos,” which everyone takes as the Phantom saying that Aldo is Chronos’s actual kid; the Phantom is in fact being literal and saying the short form of the word “kitten.”
- The Phantom generates another portal, transporting Aldo, Riica, and Cyrus to parts - and times - unknown.
- The party arrive at the Spacetime Rift - specifically, Time’s Forgotten Stop - and meet Master, a mysterious bartender who speaks in riddles, both claiming to know and not know Aldo. He informs them about the pillars of light, effectively portals themselves, and the party use one to travel back to the Present, 300 AD.
- King Miglance tells them that his father (the previous king) and Aldo’s grandfather had “valor” when they were young, confusing Aldo, but the topic quickly becomes that of the invading beastfolk army.
- The party volunteers to take a break from trying to prevent the destruction of all space and time to help guard Miglance. On the way to destroy a scouting party, Aldo and company instead meet Mobecha and Pepori, beast friends of Feinne. They warn Aldo about Ogre Rancorem’s true nature, and the party repels its attack. The Ogre agrees to obey Aldo and reverts back to sword form, which it claims is now at full power for Aldo to command. Not for the last time, everyone is pretty forgiving of the sword trying to kill them, possibly because Another Force is too valuable to give up.
- As the beast army attacks Miglance, the party catches up with Guildna, cornering the Beast King atop the castle. Amy fortuitously arrives to help, having been restored thanks to the party’s adventures in Antiquity. After finally defeating the Beast King, he seems to die. (He disappears in green light, suggesting Alpha Geo interference.). The party then goes, as Aldo says, “back to the future” (™️) to find Professor Chronos.
- Sebastia, a gifted friend of Amy’s, reveals that she knows the Administrator, and is able to secure an audience for the party. The Administrator grants them access to the Xeno-Domain research structure through the Babel Elevator. There, they view a hologram recording left by Chronos and Madoka intended for one, or both, of their children. Since Aldo is effectively a clone of Eden’s, the recording is triggered anyway. (Kyros, in cat form, can also be seen in the picture if you look closely.)
- Upon reaching the Xeno and Geo cores, the Xeno Prototype orb begins to somewhat malfunction. While it is not yet bad enough to trigger the timequake that would end all time and space, it’s bad enough to open three red portals to the Corridor of Time Layer, connecting Antiquity, the Present, and the Future. Professor Chronos appears (somehow!) and asks Aldo - the person he believes to be his son - to travel into the Corridor and use his Alpha Geo to dissipate the timequake. Too bad Aldo has no Alpha Geo within him, as he is not actually Eden.
- The party almost stops the destruction, too, those meddling kids. But the Phantom appears and demonstrates how he’ll just use a spare floating island to create the quake with the tremendous force of its impact.
- The island, transported through time, arrives in Antiquity, but the Four Elementals sacrifice themselves to destroy it, sending pieces of their corpses flying around the world, falling at random. This, in the updated, current timeline, is the reason why Prisma is dispersed across the world.
- However, the Phantom can claim a partial victory, as all this only delayed the destruction of time and space. A Dimensional Vortex forms, and it is only a matter of time before it sends everything into oblivion.
- Having been time-warped to the Future, 5 days pass there, and Aldo stands on a beach like a moody teen, being all defeatist and mopey. Then the Gallery Master shows up and gives him a pep talk, Aldo acting as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Aldo then promptly finds Riica, Amy, and Cyrus and joins them once more.
- They reach the Synth Hydra Riftbreaker airship, newly created by the Synth Humans with leftover Chronos tech, which travels through time. The party is unable to enter it, however.
- Helena, though nominally a pacifist, joins the party. (She fights them first, making an exception due to lingering resentment over Galliard's death, I guess.) She aids them in gaining entrance to the airship.
- Together, they convince the other Synth Humans to join humanity’s cause. (They do this by using the effective, time-tested strategy of beating the shit out of one’s enemies until they see things your way.)
- The gang meets with the Oracle/Chronos who takes them to the Tower of Stars. There, he reveals that he and his family had entered the portal willingly, in an effort to go back to Antiquity to study the Elementals in order to find a solution to the timequake. But a gust of time-wind (time weather is a thing, it seems) arrived en route and blew the family their separate ways.
- However, Chronos just now managed to complete the fruits of his labors: the Geo Metal. The professor’s face was scarred from years of radioactive exposure, and after King Palsifal deals him a fatal blow, he and Aldo get a Vader-Luke moment as he asks his mask to taken off one last time. Also, Palsifal, defeated by the party, dies. (No one seems to care; Cyrus doesn't react, that I recall. Odd.)
- Aldo then receives the Primeval Gem, which is made of remnants of Order or something, and it’s effective against Chaos. But since the Synth Hydra needs time to power it up, and Vares randomly somehow arrives on the airship somehow and invites Aldo to come die trying to rescue his sister (lol ok), they decide to go rescue her.
- At the Beast King’s Castle, after the party arrive in the throne room, Feinne unintentionally starts freaking out due to her Geo Prisma power by collecting the the energy of other worlds. Geo Angurius forms from a union of Feinne and Altena, calling itself the perfect fusion of Geo Prisma and Elemental. But the party mortally wound it, and Altena decides to let Feinne go so that Feinne, at least, can survive. Altena then “dies” the same way as her brother, in a green light, suggesting Feinne’s Alpha Geo powers somehow preserves her.
- Using the Primeval Gem’s power to fuel a cannon blast from the airship, the gang punches a hole through the Dimensional Vortex. The ship can’t quite make it all the way, so the party travels to its core on foot.
- There, they meet Phantom once again, and defeat him (?) in battle. However, the Phantom survives and reveals Chronos Menas, a titan monster who is extremely angsty and made of dark flesh and fire. This gigantic monster uses the Alpha Geo power. But how can that be? His real identity is revealed to be: Eden! (If you’ve been reading all of this from the beginning, you knew that, but remember the first time you found out? Wow!)
- It is revealed that Eden made sure to save his sister (Cecile/Feinne) and his cat (Sorik/Kyros/later Aldo) from the time-wind gust 16 years ago. While his sister and cat ended up in the Present, he was stuck in Chronos’ Umbra - the heart of the Dimensional Vortex - for these past 16 years. There, in the darkness of the abyss, he was driven mad. His imperfect Alpha Geo was further warped in the void, becoming, basically, Chaos.
- Aldo accepts his cat origins fairly quickly, compared to how I would have taken the news. (Side note: if one goes back and watches the game’s initial cutscene, one can - barely! - see Kyros in the bushes behind Cecile’s baby basket. The clues were there the entire time! It is revealed Aldo is both “Another” version of Eden and the titular Cat Beyond Time and Space!)
- The gang rush in and battle Eden, all the while trying to get him to see reason. Eventually, only Aldo (Kyros), Feinne (Cecile), and Eden remain facing each other. Through the power of love and remembrance - and Aldo transforming back into a cat and running full force into Eden - they are able to bring Eden back to his senses. He tells his sister it’s time to give up their Geo Prisma powers, and in doing so they deus ex machina everything back to normal. Also, however, is nowhere to be found. (I wonder where Kyros is now, though,” wonders Amy. “Did he merge with Eden, or what?”)
- In a green flash (Geo Prisma power, seems - Eden’s will, in this case?), Kyros reappears inside the Mayor’s house. He then transforms into Aldo (perhaps also via Eden’s wishes). He and the others to resolve to look for Eden.

~ OGRE WARS (ver. 1.5)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 300 AD, after the events of the The Cat Beyond Time and Space, the game devotes itself to something so important that it gets its own version number - 1.5 - but so unimportant that it doesn't amount to version 2.0 ... The Ogre Wars! [Note: I'm told this is because the events were initially to be included in 1.0, but it was decided that would have made The Cat Beyond Time and Space too bloated. I concur.]
- The Mayor tells our heroes (as a refresher: Aldo, Feinne, Amy, Riica, and Helena) that there are rumors of the site of an ancient battle, where eerie screams are heard. The group decide to investigate to see if they can locate clues as to the fate of Eden, Guildna, and/or Altena, all of whom met their supposed ends involved in some ways with Geo Prisma.
- Sure enough, both Altena and Guildna are revived via Feinne's Geo Prisma. Finding it awkward to have a deutero-antagonist with the blood of thousands of people on his hands joining the party, Geo Prisma brings back Guildna in his young adult form - the Guildna that existed at the start of the game’s very first cutscene, in fact. So, prior to his having committing acts of atrocity. (Geo Prisma likely running the same software that turns cats into clones of humans.) It yanks him out of the original timeline just before he meets the infant Feinne. Guildna meets his (now older) sister on Snake Bone Island.
- Ogre Rancorem temporarily frees itself of Aldo's control and opens up a massive portal in the sky. Out descends the Ogres Spike, transported there from about 3000 years ago, prior to the defeat of the Ogres. With them, the human Thunder King and his soldiers, as well - wielding his own version of Palsifal's holy blade. Ogre King Zennon reveals himself, too, though he retreats with his minions. Lastly, Ogres Spike is encased in an impenetrable shield.
- Beneath Miglance Castle, the Mirror (mirror on the wall, as it literally is) recounts the story of Ogre Rancorem possessing the sword of Palsifal around 3,000 years prior... adding the detail that the sword was created out an ancient magical stone by Titans, long vanished from this world. (Weirdly, the king of Miglance has the original, uncorrupted Palsifal blade, despite being from the same timeline when it was transformed into Ogre Rancorem.) The Mirror then tells of the Elemental Arms, ancient weapons connected to the Four Elementals from Antiquity, saying the Ogres had sought them out.
- The party is informed that a huge black-winged monster has been seen on Snake Bone Island. Traveling there, they reunite with Altena and the younger, reformed Guildna, and everyone puts their... edited pasts aside. They also reunited with Vares - revealed to be a smaller, kinder blue dude - and meet his twin sister, Myra. (It appears that the fact Vares snapped an innocent Baruoki man’s neck in Chapter 1 has been forgiven and/or forgotten.)
- Guildna asks Aldo and friends to accompany him to find the island's Genesis Dragon God to acquire a power-up, and they agree. They stop by the former Beast King's castle for a mandatory side quest, and afterward finally arrival at the Dragon God's heart. There, the god's vassal appears and is initially skeptical that Aldo is pure enough to save the world when he wields an evil blade. Aldo proves how pure he is by violently beating the vassal, and is given the power to increase his strength many-fold if he can collect an absurd amount of items by farming dungeons.
- Zennon kidnaps Altena. He tells our heroes to bring him the four Elemental Arms in exchange for her life. (One of these being Guildna's Crimson Blade.) This ends Part 1 of Part 1.5, if you're keeping track.
- Part 2 of Part 1.5 begins with Guildna confirming that his Crimson Blade houses the power of Salamander. Cyrus suggests the group travel back to Antiquity so that they may ask his associate, Dummy, what next to do. Somehow, the group thinks thinks that sounds right, and they depart.
- Cyrus's friend Dummy is - without explanation - literally a straw dummy. It reveals that phantoms of the Elementals can be found at Purgatory. Purgatory is a bardo-ish place in the world one can travel to and talk with dead people, somehow.
- Here's a sentence I never imagined I'd type: A straw dummy transports the team to Purgatory using astral projection.
- In Purgatory, the team fights the spirit remains of the Four Elementals, which is fine thanks for the Elementals saving the universe from annihilation in ver. 1.0. They gather the Four Elemental Arms: Earth Spirit’s Ax, the Wind Spirit’s Lance, the Water Spirit’s Katana, and the Fire Spirit’s Sword.
- Zennon, it turns out, cannot be trusted. While handing over the Elemental Arms, he briefly “frees” Altena only to use her as a biological base for combining the Arms, creating one giant, dark sword. He could kill everyone in an instant, he claims, but he chooses to do the villainous thing and leave the protagonists with time to think of a plan to defeat him.
- Amy has the bright idea to visit Sebastia to see if she has a bright idea. She googles and finds out the Ogre Key. It was at the Macminal Museum, but it was abandoned. Aldo and Amy manage to get it reopened by time-hopping, but “neohumans” Amy used to know, Clughorn and Mildy, steal the key. (Amy dated a guy named… Clughorn?) Neohumans are mutants, in the X-Men sense, with psychic powers.
- The pair of Neohumans hide out in Toto Dreamland, an amusement park. The protagonists confront them and defeat the monster the two channel. Mildy and Clughorn retreat, leaving the Ogre Key. Mildy, remarkably, calls the new Neohuman organization the Chrono Clan.
- The fellow from the Gallery of Dreams shows up out of nowhere and "sharpens" the twin blades wielded by the Thunder King and King Miglance. Also, in secret, he switches the blades. This sort of becomes clear, later.
- Ogre Key in hand, our heroes return to 300 AD to do battle with the ogres. The key disables the forcefield around Ogres Spike, and the combined armies of Miglance and Thunder attack from three sides.
- After avenging the Thunder King's son, Alfaldo (awfully similar name to Aldo), killed years ago in the Thunder King's timeline, Ogre Rancorem takes control of Aldo. The sword-ogre threatens the life of the Thunder King, but Aldo's friends beat him mercilessly until he is freed from its control. Ogre Rancorem promises not to do it again, and everyone is satisfied, somehow.
- Everyone comes together and defeats Zennon, the killing blow struck by the Thunder King. However, as Zennon dies, the souls of the ogres that day slain converge on the Thunder King's sword - it turns into another version of Ogre Rancorem. (Aldo's version does its best to explain the situation.) This way, since the Thunder King's sword remained uncorrupted, they all end up with two Ogre Rancorems instead of three. Follow so far?
- King Miglance gives the Thunder King his own Palsifal's holy blade, uncorrupted as it is, and the Thunder King and his troops return to their own timeline. Since the Thunder King has both the uncorrupted *and* the corrupted version of the same sword, the timeline remains in such a way that both Aldo and King Miglance will someday come into possession of their respective versions of the same weapon in the same timeline.
- Ogre Rancorem apparently planned out the whole thing - summoning the Ogre Spike into our timeline - so that our timeline would be altered to the extent the holy blade of Palsifal would not exist, but things played out differently in the game's timeline, thanks to us. (Aldo: "My head's going to start hurting if I think anymore about this." Mood, Aldo, mood.) Altena is returned to normal.
- Ogre Rancorem sets up a sequel by saying "the Goddess of Time" would soon return and that he'll have need of Aldo when she arrives.
~ EPISODE: The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel (ver. 1.9)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[NOTE: There are other Episodes up until this point, of course, but I don't believe any besides this one and parts of the Celestial Tower one - so far - are integral to understanding the Main Story. If that turns out to be untrue and Part 2 of the Main Story requires knowledge of one or more of the other Episodes, I'll add them in at some point.]
...in the Future...
- Leongrantze Figaro San - "Leo" - the youngest company officer at KMS, becomes very bored and decides to put into motion a complicated plan to make business dealings with mysterious forces in an alternate world. (I guess they luckily use the same currency, or else there's an exchange rate that I can't possibly understand.)
- Becoming smitten with Sebastia, the granddaughter of the CEO of KMS, he finds her old school project schematics and begins mass producing... well, it's basically a gundam. He decides that's what he'll sell, but he does so behind the backs of his fellow KMS leaders.
- KMS invents LeA-BAK, a rogue Synth Human created by KMS, modeled on Galliard. Leo enlists it to further his plans by enticing it with rumors of something called the Chronos Report, supposedly filled with secrets Professor Chronos catalogued.
- LeA-BAK contacts Helena. He makes some vague threats and leaves the party to wonder how to proceed.
- Through a series of events that may or may not be directly important to understanding the overall story (I'll update if necessary), our heroes resurrect Galliard and he is informed about all that transpired since his death. This was also orchestrated by Leo in order to possibly locate the Chronos Report.
- Biaka, nominally an agent of the Administrator, is revealed to be working for the Cardinal Vestige, the mysterious masterminds behind the Synth Human Rebellion. Pointing the party towards one of their secret bases, they learn of the plot to obtain the Chronos Report. Though they accept help from the Cardinal Vestige this time, Amy and the rest declare that there will be a reconning with the shadowy group controlling everything from the shadows.
- LeA-BAK is defeated by Leo's gundam, commanded by Leo, who declares his intent to discover the contents of the Chronos Report in order to unlock the "Sealed Garden," using his control of the "Time Layers," whatever that means. However, after dying again, Galliard is resurrected by a kiss from Helena, (...) and saves the party from certain death at the hands of Leo and Sebastia's gundam. Sebastia then destroys about 100 mass-produced gundams - they being based off her schematics, she had included a self-destruct option.
- The party - and LeA-Bak, saved by Galliard and Helena - escapes the building that housed the now-destroyed gundams, and Sebastia is narrowly saved by none other than Leo.
- Despite everything that transpired - world-ending level subterfuge and the attempted murder of the party and all - the pair decide to be on decent terms. (What?) Leo reveals that KMS found out about his schemes but was overall impressed by his boldness. However, they decide to stop attempting cross-time transactions.
- Galliard cryptically mentions "the stars" are at least somewhat in control and that the preceding events have shone light on the mysterious "Over Technology." Meanwhile, LeA-BAK is shown utilizing a wormhole to travel to times unknown.

Got back from a 1 week trip to Costa Rica and wanted to summarize my thoughts here as a few friends have asked for them.
Tamarindo, 2 nights
Scene: Young and touristy with a lot of surfing though during low tide you'll actually see that the beach is full of jagged rocks - my friend actually cut himself on them. Plus the waves were pretty aggressive when I was there which makes surfing even tougher for beginners. Great for partying - at least on the Friday and Saturday night I was in Tamarindo there were several bars and clubs. That said, I've heard that folks who stayed in other popular beach towns like Santa Teresa and Nosara enjoyed it more.
Things to do: Bar crawl ($25 USD) was pretty fun and Crazy Monkeys was my favourite spot as it was a rooftop club with acrobatics (think: a very, very scaled down version of Coco Bongo). Cheap surf lessons at Banana Surf Club, $20 or 30 USD for 2 hours. Not much to do from an outdoors/adventure perspective.
Food: Tough to find cheap local options as the Sodas are not walkable from the center of town. The food options were pretty westernized. The Mahi Mahi tacos from Green Papaya Cafe were my second favourite meal. Witches Rock had a cool vibe with live music and it's beach front patio. Tried several places in the small food court but they ranged from mediocre to bad. The Carribean food truck in the food truck yard was terrible as the meat is literally microwaved. Heard good things about the food at El Be and coffee at the shop above White Lotus but didn't try myself.
Transportation: Shuttle from airport for $25 USD each (1 van shared with 4 others)
Monteverde/Santa Elena, 2 nights
Scene: Quite literally in the mountains. Much quieter and sparse vs the other places in Costa Rica. Great for outdoor adventures, renowned for coffee, and most notably the home of a large cloud forest reserve, etc.
Food: CASEM co-op was quaint and the tortilla with meat was decent. Raulitos was decent as well. Sabor Tico was highly recommended by the locals but I thought it was disappointing (plus very expensive). Cafe Choco was a great place for coffee (though contrary to the name, they do not make chocolate).
Things to do: Between 100% Aventura (which I did for $54 USD), Selvatura, and Extremo, there's lots of great ziplining/Tarzan swing excursions available and I'd highly recommend doing one of them. I would ignore any claims like "largest zipline in Costa Rica" because I saw several ziplines throughout the country making similar but nuanced claims. Night walks are also popular but the one I did ($25 USD purchased at the Selvatura office in town) was terrible - saw a couple interesting animals from afar but was otherwise underwhelmingly focused on bugs (read: boring) and I didn't like the guide. Didn't visit the cloud forest or do a coffee tour but those are the other popular things to do here.
Transportation: Shuttle for $50 USD (van with ~6 others)
La Fortuna, 2 nights
Scene: Typical tourist town (not necessarily in a bad way) that felt like a hybrid of all the other places I visited in Costa Rica. Has a good variety of things to do ranging from quiet outdoor activities to partying. As has been well documented here on Reddit, you have to pay for pretty much every hike though there are a small handful of free activities.
Food: My favourite meal in Costa Rica was at Travesia. While the prices appear high, each meal we got could have probably fed 2+ people. A must try. A close contender because of its low price was Pollolandia, which is a no-frills fried chicken chain located throughout the country. Rain Forest Cafe was decent. Soda Viquez is highly recommended and definitely filling but the food is very low quality and served from a hot table that has likely been sitting all day - I didn't like it.
Things to do: My favourite activity during my trip was the level 3-4 rafting ($85 USD). It was my first time and a ton of fun, especially for those who like high adrenaline activities. The river level was a bit low though which led to us getting stuck a lot. We hiked through the private Volcano Arenal for $18 USD which was a pretty decent hike though you don't actually get too close to Volcano itself. There's a vendor in the parking lot selling cheap fresh coconuts (1,200 CRC) which was a great refresher after the hike. We also did the La Fortuna waterfall for ~$20 USD which was beautiful. The Don Juan coffee and chocolate tour ($45 USD) which was nice as well, though someone later suggested the Northfields one could be better because it's less "corporate" than Don Juan. Partying, at least on the weekdays that I was here, was pretty limited. Charlie's was the only place open during the week but pretty empty. Drinks were cheap though (~3,000 CRC per). In terms of free activities, there's a great swimming area with a rope swing, an okay hot spring a short walk from the road, and a free waterfall that I didn't get to visit. Also, on the trip from Monteverde>La Fortuna our shuttle service had us switch from bus>boat>bus again which we didn't know would happen upon booking but actually made for a nice, makeshift boat tour around the Arenal Volcano
Transportation: Shuttle for $50-70 USD (don't remember the exact amount) (bus/boat with ~12 others)
Liberia, 1 night
I know everyone says to skip it but I had an early morning flight the next day and wanted to be close to the airport. Next time, I think I'd just stay in a nearby beach town like Playa Hermosa instead which is equally far from the airport. Not much to do and my Airbnb on the south side of town felt a bit sketchy. This is more specific to the Airbnb itself but despite the great reviews it was terrible - flooded during heavy rainfall, bad smells, and lots of bugs. Cafe Negro was great for breakfast and coffee, though. Also if you're flying from this airport beware that alcohol at the souvenir shops is significantly overpriced. There's a smaller duty free shop near gate 5 that sells the example same products for much less (e.g. 750ml Cacique for $15 vs $23 USD)
Transportation: Private driver (shuttles were sold out as we tried booking the day before) for $115 USD (SUV with up to 4 seats and the cost can be split by all passengers; driver also stopped at Rio Celeste, a popular river to swim in, on the way)

Other, general thoughts:
- Everything, especially food, is VERY expensive. Outside of Airbnbs and alcohol, I paid more for things in Costa Rica than I would in Canada. I ate out for all my meals and paid ~double what I would normally spend eating out at similar places where I'm from in Canada. Same goes for coffee (~2,000-3,000 CRC) and other general merchandise items, but food was especially surprising given that even basic meals like casado (read: rice and bean heavy) would run me ~5,000 CRC.
- In addition to being expensive, food is pretty underwhelming here. I guess that was to be expected as Costa Rica isn't exactly a culinary destination.
- Alcoholic drinks from corner stores were pretty cheap (e.g. ~1,000 per beer, ~7,000 for 750ml bottles of liquor), at least compared to Ontario (perhaps not as noticable if you're from a low alcohol tax area in the US, let's say). Alcohol at restaurants and bars was generally expensive though.
- Tipping was not expected anywhere I went. Some places, particularly fancier restaurants, do mandate a service charge though, a standard 10%.
- With the exception of my night walk guide who sucked, all the tour guides were great and funny. Even the guides that were not great English speakers knew how to crack jokes.
- I imagine it's an anomaly but it only rained once despite my trip taking place during rainy season.
- If you're used to eating properly marbled steaks, I'd skip eating steak in Costa Rica. It's generally lean and tough, very different from the fattier steaks we're used to.
- Tap water is safe to drink. I drank it everyday without issue.
- Navigating is really challenging because they don't use addresses here. It's all relative to landmarks (e.g. 50m West of large statue).
- Partly due to above but also because the roads between cities can be terrible, I'd recommend avoiding driving. Perhaps if you're from a region without modernized roads then you'd be okay with it but fully paved roads, stop signs, cross walks, street lights, etc are rare outside of the big cities.
- Uber is illegal (for drivers, not passengers) so in some less populated areas it can be hard to match with drivers. Still worth trying to call for them if you're not in a rush because it was ~50-70% cheaper than taxis (regardless of whether we had fixed price or meter). That said, taxis show up very quickly if you call them.
- Related to the previous thought, I was amazed by how easy it was to book transportation around the country through shuttles/private transport. Even on very short notice, we paid someone at a hostel or tour agency who leaves a Whatsapp voice message with a very vague description of your party/pickup location (again, no addresses), and in every single case the driver showed up right on time. Never tried public transportation but I heard it's to be avoided if you can afford it. Shuttles/private transport can also be booked online. We used Bookaway which seemed standard.
- For some reason you can't convert foreign currency to CRC at banks without showing your passport.
- Outside of a few small things irking me in Liberia, the country generally felt safe, even when walking around Tamarindo and La Fortuna at 2-4am in the night.
- Tourists are tourists but the locals generally felt pure and nice, truly embodying the essence of "Pura Vida". These aren't great examples but I saw several things (e.g. bumping into people at clubs) that in North America would lead to a fight that the locals just brush off.
- Last but not least, and partly a product of hanging around hostels (even if I wasn't staying in them), it was very easy to meet and make friends with other people. There were plenty of people ranging from solo to small groups, backpackers to more mature travelers, coming from near and far countries, and so on. A very different vibe than in North America where it's almost taboo to start up a conversation with someone at a restaurant or on a tour - I was able to meet a diverse array of people just by striking up conversations!

The “Sisters” are “queer and trans” drag queens whose shtick is to dress up as Roman Catholic nuns and mock them and their faith in ways that range from the lewd to the sacrilegious. They go by various sexual and blasphemous stage names, all of them with the honorific “Sister” (e.g., “Sister Anal Receptive”). The group’s motto is “go and sin some more.” They annually host a “Foxy Mary and Hunky Jesus” contest on Easter Sunday. This year, that included a “Jesus and Mary–themed striptease” in which, per the San Francisco Chronicle, a pole dancer was “writhing upside down on a large wooden cross.” Senator Marco Rubio observes that the group “hosts pub crawls mocking the Stations of the Cross and even the Eucharist.” The group’s website proudly notes that it began when members “went in full, traditional habits through the streets of our city and down to the nude beach.”

2023.05.27 00:00 Saschoe I wrote a 10 page Goblin Essay for my English Teacher
As part of my last semester of English class, I wanted to give my teacher a little trip into the teenage minds of the United States. Since our textbooks aren't the newest anyway, and Tyler was still 18 or so at the time of Goblin (I think I got a little confused with the age), I thought this would probably give this album the best opportunity. It's clear that I didn't include some obvious passages in Tron Cat, but he probably listened to the album himself for that.
He liked the music.
Now the real professionals can have fun with the essay...
Goblin (2011) by Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, The Creator, also known as Tyler Okonma is a US-hip-hop artist, who already entered the branch at a very young age and is know world famous for works like Flower Boy or IGOR. One detail in his albums, which made him so famous is his shifting between different, well-structured personalities, who all tell different stories. But his origin where he began is lesser known or recognized, even by the best informed hip-hop-heads in the scene. Tyler’s first mixtape “Bastard” was published in 2009, when he was just 17 and already recorded, when he turned 16/17. His second album “Goblin”, the follow-up story to “Bastard” was published roundabout 2 years later. During the recording sessions, Okonma was around 18-19 years old. “Goblin” became his debut studio album and earned the MTV Music Award for “Best new Artist” in 2011. In retrospect, many fans say, that this is not his best album due to the fact, that he wasn’t that good at making music at that time, but I think that’s the reason why the album shouldn’t be ignored. All tracks are only written and produced by Tyler himself. He was the universal mind behind his projects and led all by himself – something not many artists do today.
The Album contains 15 Tracks plus 3 additional bonus tracks. The story sets in after the first therapy session, Tyler had with Dr. TC who is the school psychiatrist. Tyler was sentenced for multiple sessions, the first one being told in “Bastard” and the second one now in “Goblin”. Dr. TC can be recognized by his low pitched voice. Tyler himself is performing as three different persons in this album: Tyler, Wolf and Sam. Context to them is given during the second track “Yonkers”. Who also can be heard on the album are members from Tyler’s Gang Odd Future Wolf Gang (better known as Odd Future or short OF) Frank Ocean, Hodgy, Jasper, Taco, Domo Genisis and Mike G.
Tyler starts his verse with very aggressive wording, paired with silent and long stretched melodies, which are very contrary to his emphasis. “I'm not a fucking role model. I'm a 19-year-old fucking emotional coaster with pipe dreams” gives us the listener an impression on how Tyler portrays himself to Dr. TC and other people. With lines like “The devil doesn't wear Prada, I'm clearly in a fucking white tee” he states very clearly, that he himself sees his person as bad and harmful, like the devil.
After his rap part, Okonma and Dr. TC have a short dialogue, in which Tyler questions his appearance. "Okay, you guys caught me, I'm not a fucking rapist or serial killer, I lied". Dr. TC answers with "You know, you just want attention, you'll be fine" and Tyler says "I try too hard, huh?" on what Dr. TC ends with "No, you don't". Dr. TC now asks Tyler how his trip to New York went, which leads us to the next Track.
“This ain't no V. Tech shit, or Columbine, but after bowling, I went home for some damn Adventure Time” is referencing to the famous Virginia Tech shooting and Michael Moore’s documentary Bowling for Columbine with Wolf telling, that he is potentially build the same to go “bowling”. Other lines like “stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus and won't stop until the cops come in” follow the same shock effect. Wolf calls himself a “walkin' paradox, no, I'm not” which itself is again a paradox. He also has a lack of emotional empathy and tells his friend Syd to shut up and meet his therapist, because he is good at listening – a very important line for the later plot. “Jesus called, he said he's sick of the disses. I told him to quit bitchin', this isn't a fuckin' hotline” reveals Tyler’s religious believes, because all members of Odd Future are atheists, except for Frank Ocean.
With this track, Tyler earned the MTV Music Award for “Best new Artist” in 2011. The song caused a lot for attention for his music video where Tyler can be seen vomiting and eating a living cockroach.
The Track begins with the following disclaimer: “Random disclaimer! Hey, don't do anything that I say in this song, okay? It's fucking fiction! If anything happens, don't fucking blame me White America, fuck Bill O'Reilly”. Tyler is again referencing to the Columbine shooting, where Bill O'Reilly, a famous FOX News Reporter at that time, blamed musicians like Marylin Manson for radicalism and school shootings in the youth. Marylin Manson was also interviewed by Michael Moore and speaks himself out against gun violence.
In the refrain Tyler is chanting the words “Kill people, burn shit, fuck school. I'm fucking radical, n*gga, I'm fucking radical” over and over again, underlining his aggressive style and building a metaphor for youth radicalism, at that time a heavily discussed topic and widespread phenomenon in the USA. With the line “I ain't got no motherfucking daddy, he ain't teach me shit. Child support ain't come, that faggot still ain't bought me anything”, Tyler is mentioning the disappearance of his father, when he was a child, a problem that will come up many times again on the album and which also shaped his career and topics, he is rapping about.
After almost four minutes of radical combat announcements, the beat, flow and topic suddenly change: “I'm not saying just to go out and do some stupid shit, commit crimes. What I'm trying to tell you is: Do what the fuck you want”. After more minutes of appeals to his listeners to be free and doing the things, they want do instead of being captured in their everyday live – a appeal that can may be interpreted as radical, Dr. TC makes an appearance again and weaves Tyler back to reality, saying “You gotta let these shits go, man. It's not making sense to you right now […] getting too old for this shit, man, you gotta grow out of it. […] You gotta look at reality, understand that shit, so you don't get caught. I'm just being real” to which Tyler answers with “N*gga, fuck you”. Dr. TC explains himself, that he just wants to help Tyler but after that the rapper gives a very “radical” statement about maturing and tells the doctor “Look, I mature day after day, nigga, you don't know shit, you're a fucking therapist”.
Tyler often spoke out against a society of forcing people to mature and instead wants to help everybody to mature by themselves instead of getting them to therapy, like he has now with Dr. TC. The track becomes a parable and gives us both extremes of Tyler by first showing his one radical site, which tells the listener to kill people and don’t care about school but then turning into a whole new radical, that gets more content about maturing and adolescence for US teens, written by a teen himself, which makes the track quite impressive and very self-reflective about Tyler’s actions.
In the first verse, Frank tells us a story about a new girl, that moved on the block, called Raquel and that he fell into a relationship with her, but suddenly things change. This night, when Frank slept at her place, he saw a stalker, that somehow got into the room and sliced his back with a ninja sword. “A sword sliced the air, I pulled out the na-na. Rolled off the bed, then shot back, pow-pow”. Frank shoots back with his glock, but didn’t hit him, only to see him run away like: “Looked out the glass, seen him sprintin' on the grass: A real ninja, with the blade and the mask”. “If that's your ex, you should probably own a pistol” is the last advice, that Frank can give to Raquel before he ends his verse.
“The blinds wide open so he can see you in the dark when you're sleepin'! […] You're sleeping alone in bed, but check your window. He's at your window!” is sung by Frank in the refrain. It’s an urgent request to Raquel to take care of herself, because a stalker could be dangerous for her. But let the stalker himself talk.
The second verse now is shared from Wolf’s perspective. With “Night light hits off, turnin' kisses to bites. I'm a down to Earth n*gga with intentions that's right” Tyler introduces us to the scene, his imagination what is happening, when no one is at her place, giving a small hint to the next track Transylvania. He also asks the girl to go out with him to the lake, also a hint to the eleventh track Analog, where he prepares a meetup with the girl at the mentioned lake.
In the third verse, the track reaches its highlight. The line “One, two; you're the girl that I want. Three, four, five, six, seven – shit. Eight is the bullets if you say no after all this” is a pretaste of what will happen with Raquel if she declines Wolf’s offer. Tyler uses one of his most famous personal stylistic devices by starting with a harmless nursery rhyme and mixing it with gruesome and dark themes like necrophilia in lines like “I just wanna drag your lifeless body to the forest and fornicate with it, but that's because I'm in love with you, cunt”, which then again switch up to Wolf, expressing his more human side and talking about an interpersonal relationship, that he want’s to build up with the girl.
The second and third verse underline the “paradox”, that wolf called himself by unforeseen switches between falling in love with Raquel but then turning insane and fantasizing about killing her just to eventually turn back to thoughts about love and a relationship.
In lines like “My only problem is death” he falls into existentialistic dilemmas and reveals his worst fears to Dr. TC. “Fuck heaven, I ain't showing no religion respect” is another harsh statement about Tyler’s atheistic lifestyle and beliefs. “When I was younger, I would smile a lot. I'm getting older, getting bolder, but a wiser top. Now I'm drunk driving, lap's full of Budweiser tops. Life is a movie and you're just a prop”. Tyler is less and less caring for the people around him and starts losing control over his moral, which he had back then, when he was younger and much happier. In “Love? I don't get none, that's why I'm so hostile to the kids that get some. My father called me to tell me he loved me - I'd have a better chance of getting Taylor Swift to fuck me " Tyler is trying to explain his hostility against the other kids he hangs with and gives an ridiculous example, how unlikely it is, that his father would get in contact with him. During therapy conversations, Tyler often refers to both these problems, his depression and the loose of his father.
Dr. TC is working as a waking mechanism for Tyler to question himself, building up a more and more close up relation between them. “Ignorant as fuck, offend people for the hell of it, because I am the devil, fucker, get on my level” is now a correlation to the heaven mention in the beginning, presenting how he is only moving in the extreme ends that the religious afterlife offers and mocking them. One of the most depressing line in the track is “I won't feel the feelings I be feeling when I'm sobered up”, when you think about the fact, that he was just becoming an adult at this time and still has his life ahead of him. “One ear I got kids screaming, ‘O.F. is the best’. The other ear I got Tron Cat, asking where the bullets and the bombs at so I can kill these levels of stress, shit” OF a reference for his hip hop group Odd Future and Tron Cat is a new introduced inner voice of Tyler, which tells him to go insane like Wolf does by asking Tyler like a hypothetical question about arming himself with weapons and bombs. Tron Cat will be introduced more in the following track Tron Cat.
Tyler ends his third verse with “Ain't kill myself yet, and I already want my life back”. He wants to go back to the life he originally had without all the interviews, shows etc. and just enjoy being a kid so his old life is metaphorically “dead” which goes along with wanting to kill himself as well. He starts to lose control again and Dr. TC asks him what happened, to which Tyler answers with “it's like I'm a different person at times. Sometimes I'm fucking mad, sometimes I'm not. It's like I got a fucking voice in my head telling me to do all this fucked up shit, man. He tells me to do this shit, that I don't wanna fucking do”. Dr. TC asks for the person’s name and Tyler answers with “Tron Cat” which just leads us to the next track.
The Track starts with an innocent la-la singing and abruptly switches into a deep screaming. “You got a fucking death wish? I'm a genie, it'll get done. Nice to meet you, but it's more pleasant to eat you” are just the harmless thoughts by Tron Cat. Which power he possesses can be heard in the line “I'm Tyler, The Creature”, which shows, that Tron Cat has the ability to control Tyler’s whole person and not just talk into his thoughts as Tyler said in Nightmare. He is a real problem for Tylers sanity and brings up extreme thoughts about violence and Harassment.
“What the fuck? I... I'm speechless […] Shit, Tyler, you're gonna need some help” is Dr. TCs reaction to Tron Cat’s introduction in the therapy. I don’t want to get too deep into Tron Cat’s thoughts will leave it to each himself to listen to this track. Dr. TC moves on to the next topic and asks Tyler the following question: “fuck it, different subject. How's that girl you were telling me about?”. Yes we go back to Raquel, the girl we already know from the track She.
It’s the first time, that Tyler shows real affection for a girl. Throughout the whole track the use of repetition as a stylistic device, gives the verses a constant flow, starting over and over with the line “it’s this girl!”, showing how euphoric he is, when he talks about Raquel. “We talk every night, she cry to me about her guy”, refers to Frank, who is currently in a relationship with her. As the track moves on we find out, that he has much contact to her on Facebook and is video chatting with her, very common in his age and that Tyler also feels invited to her “world of privacy” when chatting with Raquel. When rapping “I see her in class. Not really, two doors down, but anytime that I pass to take a piss in a stall, I picture us in the hall”, Tyler is letting his imagination run free and is imagining himself with her in the school, they both visit. Another line like “I know, to y'all, I come off as rough; but I'm the nicest to her and I just want to concur, a relation. I want the cheesy dates at the movies and stupid walks at the beach”, is again an allusion to Tylers alter egos and his bipolar disorder, the conflict with Tron Cat.
We find out that the relationship between Raquel and Frank, who he is now calling “Mr. Faggot” isn’t going very well: “Things are looking great […] Last time we talked, she said that her relationship was rocky. Now that Mr. Faggot's gone, there's no one that can stop me” but our tragic protagonist is not going to fulfil his wishes of love, because as the track moves on, Tyler tells us “Next day, metro's taking me home. I see her in the cut at Wendy's, she's not alone. Who's that guy? Wait, why the fuck he 'bout to kiss her? Come to find out, she got back with her n*gga.“
“We could count the shooting stars, well could you meet me by the lake? Summer never has to end with me” is a very catchy description of how they can spend their summer time together, but Tyler is seemingly being fine with this style. It differs extremely from the other other tracks and is again pointing to his extreme personality disorder, making the listener uncomfortable considering how it can drag others into dangerous situations with its mood swings.
In the first verse, we got Tyler’s friend Hodgy, bragging about his girl and how they spend the, already teased “never ending summer” together. He gives a short hint into this summer time with the line “I'm give it to her, she wants that summer time. I'm give it like no other cause she knows I'm hers. Damn right she's mine, we both know it. So when we separate everything fine, her phone ringin' in her purse” and calling himself “her n*gga, n*gga”. Following to that, Hodgy goes shopping and clubbing at Venice Beach and transitions over into the hook, which is sung by Tyler again. Tylers verse fell short in this track, only rapping four bars, that give us a very unsettling feeling again.
“I packed a couple sandwiches inside that basket”, yes Tyler prepared a package for a nice day at the lake but mystery unfolds, after he says “brought some extra towels if anyone was asking”, which might or might not be a hint on, what Tron Cat is planning to do with the girl, when they meet at the lake. After that, Tyler falls back into his lovely imagination and wants to do something with the girl, that’s “beyond what we both can imagine”. The track ends with a repetitive outro of Tyler saying “Watch the sunset, we can watch the sunset” and then closing the track with the words “Look, you know, the water's pretty deep, let's go to sleep”. A happy or not so happy ending to his date at the Lake.
Like Sandwitches and Fish, B.S.D. doesn’t suit the story of Goblin that much and is rather a gate to the mind of Odd Future’s mindset and gets the young teens flexing with money and jewellery in lines like “See my neck? Iced the fuck out. I'm getting money, n*gga”.
In the outro, the track gets a twist again. The beat stops and we hear Jasper and Taco getting shot and killed by Tyler, which leads us just to the next and maybe most important track of the album.
I want to give short summaries about everybody’s verse on this track, starting with Domo Genisis. “It was all a dream, I used to read ‘Complex’ magazines” is the starting line in his verse. He talks very extensively about consuming weed and fyling from city to city, asking the listener “Where we at? We on top of the world, where we at?”
Frank Ocean’s introduction into his part is just perfect. “And five minutes from suicide, I biked it to the park” mentions his suicidal thoughts after suffering through hurricane Katrina and how Odd Future saved his life, by giving him a new meaning and gang to be around him, possibly teasing to Tyler, that Frank almost went exactly the same way, Tyler want’s to now and stop him from doing so. “All was gray, all was gray, Frankie had the blues in fact […] Teenage males, couldn't tell I was going through it” refers to his comeback to New Orleans after the strike of hurricane Katrina and finding his home and studio completely destroyed with nothing left to use from. Frank also has answer to Domo’s question “where we at”, which he replies to with “Deep inside the ear canals of Bill O'Reilly's daughter, that's where I'm at” again hinting to the FOX reporter and now telling, that his own daughter is listening to the music, he says is motivating gun violence and terrorism. After that he ends his verse with the same question as Domo, asking his gang “Now, where we at? Where we at? Wolf Gang, where we at?”
The third verse, now by Hodgy, alludes to the maturing of Odd Future “No longer, but we were in premature, immature” and how he is also consuming grass for a particular reason: “Hell yeah, I smoke weed 'cause I like to go green”. Hodgy again ends his part with the question “Where we at? Where we at?” and answers it with “We on top of the world, on top of the world”.
Mike G explains to Tyler how far they have now made it with Odd Future. "And too often they think that they could stop me. Now every show we makin' half a Maserati". Mike sees a change in his life, how the enemies of the past can now only marvel at the success Tyler and his group have to offer. Mike sees a destiny in the fact that he now sees everything in front of him that they told him then he would never have, confirming Hodgy's statement that they are now on top of the world, having reached their horizon. "Now it's gold Rolex's if they try to clock me" is of course a pun on watches and the Rolex brand, which generally stands for high wealth. "They say life switches pace when you got shit made. So I'm just tryna get paid, don't you remember the days when your dreams were the only thing that kept you sane?" Mike G reminds Tyler of the hard times when dreams were the only thing that kept you sane, to keep going no matter what. But Tyler has to realize that they've finally managed to get out of the muck of yesteryear, and so Mike G also ends his verse by saying "Where we at, n*gga? Where we at, n*gga? Uh, we on top of the world, on top of the world".
Now follows Tyler’s part and we get feedback on how well his friends influenced him on his depression and suicidal thoughts but signs are not looking good for our protagonist. “Where the fuck we at, man? Y'all niggas don't know me, huh. Where we at?” mocks the question of before and sounds more serious, than his friends because he actually wants to know, where he is right now. His friends don't know him and Tyler, as you could hear at the beginning, is afraid to open up and as he now gradually completes the final transitions to his total decline into madness in his part. “Down to fucking Earth, huh? Fuck everybody” is his reaction to his friends making irrational, unrealistic, unreasonable and impractical verses that don’t suit him. With “My window is a book, and I'm a fucking crook. Stealing phones to call home, but the line is off the hook” Tyler openly talks about his loose of contact with his family and how everybody can watch his emotional downfall if he wants to. “Look, you can't stop me, I'm going full Monty. Fuck that, I'm Hitler, everyone's a fucking Nazi” is a very raw and cynical comparison on the base, that everybody is just his follower. “When I'm on that stage, I feel important. A whole fucking assortment of children that's taking Ritalin because the teacher said that the therapist wasn't feeling him. You gotta be fucking kidding me”. Tyler speaks openly, as he did in Goblin, about the fact that only the stage makes him happy and that he has become addicted to Ritalin in the meantime - another tragic case to be despised at such a young age. “In school, I was a zero, now I'm every boy's hero, and they fear it. You can hear it when that little fuck is reciting my lyrics” describes the transition Tyler made over the years, how everybody turned in and stopped hating him for his creative ambitions but all that is not enough and so the tragic highlight begins with words “Cheer it, dead parents everywhere, it's smelling like teen spirit. Okay, fuck it, Elvis has left the building”.
After this, a 100 second misery follows, how Tyler now shoots all his friends to death and after his murderous freakout is beckoned back to reality by Dr.TC and only now becomes aware of his deeds and suffers an emotional breakdown - all this accompanied by the constantly repeating instrumental in the background, which in my opinion is the crucial point to complete this audio-visual environment. Dr. TC tries to calm him down and make him feel comfortable again: “You're in your good space with me. We'll figure all of this out. You don't have to worry about a thing” and so the story of Window comes to an end.
“My friends are turning into opposites, because my life is turning into opposite” is a short summary on his relationship to his friends and how it changed over time. Tyler says “I'm missing my only friend” and Dr. TC answers with “You have everyone around you. You have thirty meetings a day. I don't see what it is. I mean, you— you act like you don't have anyone to talk to. I'm here for you. I'm your friend” and is visibly confused by the words of his patient, because he can’t get himself into his situation and so tension starts to rise. Tyler begins to question about his mother, why she didn’t abort him and we had to become the self-called “Bastard”, that he is today, but Dr. TC doesn’t know what to answer and so The dialogue between TC and Tyler is getting more and more strained. TC tries to tell Tyler, that he is living the time of his life and that he wishes to be that free in his age. Tyler just answers with “Fuck that, fuck all this shit!” and “You don’t help me with shit! I killed my fucking friends”. Dr. TC calls in security and Tyler yells, that he isn’t going insane but that he morphed into a table “And I’m not even human, I’m a body-shaped demon” brings us back to the beginning of the album, where Tyler already told us, that he can be compared to Satan. After a bit of mess between Tyler, the security and a nurse who gives him “two doses” it finally happens:
Dr. TC causes the house of cards to collapse. He explains the whole situation to Tyler. Dr. TC - our accompanying psychiatrist; Tron Cat - Tyler's crazy alter ego; Wolf Haley - Tyler's best friend with a tendency to snap, who Tyler wanted to kill; and Sam - Tyler's other friend, who was very shy and reserved, but had murder fantasies about Wolf: None of them are real. “The person that gave a fuck was me. See, you’re not going crazy... It’s me, I’m your best friend, Tyler. I know everything. I know everything about you. You’ve been helping yourself this whole time. Your friends? They’re just figments of your imagination. Dr. TC... See, Tyler, I’m your conscience. I’m Tron Cat... I’m Sam... I’m Wolf Haley...” After this, the case about Dr. TC, or better Tyler’s Conscience is closed, the album ends with a Cliff-hanger and the story of Goblin is over.
This plot was often teased during the album, for example in tracks like Yonkers, where Tyler tells his friend Syd, to shut up but then says, that he knows a great listener, his therapist, which was again a paradox move by Tyler. Also, in Nightmare Dr. TC says that “everything isn’t just going well”, just to then immediately transfer over to Tyler’s rap part without even having a real transition – a hint for, how Tyler is switching through his personalities all the time.
Tyler was an early talent at both writing and producing music, as the entire album was also produced entirely by himself. Not only that Tyler himself sets here a highlight in his career, also his friends like Frank Ocean or Hodgy prove themselves on this album with sophisticated lines and elaborate stories, which are described on a duration of over an hour. Goblin works almost like a radio play and gave many young people in the U.S. at the time a lot of courage to become creative themselves and to prove his artistic creativity. Therefore, especially young artists like Tyler, The Creator should also be presented more strongly on the subject of youth and adolscence to the students to strengthen their courage to create something in the world and pursue their dreams. Even if Tyler is perhaps no longer as convinced of this album as he once was and also many fans nowadays give the tracks rather a rejection, it is nevertheless only fair to think at least once into the story of the bipolar, mentally disturbed, aggressive murder-fantasy and creative head of the young Goblin-Tyler / Dr. TC / Tron Cat / Wolf / Sam purely and also to pay respect to this work, what young creative people, with just 18 years or even younger can create.

Goblin (2011) by Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, The Creator, also known as Tyler Okonma is a US-hip-hop artist, who already entered the branch at a very young age and is know world famous for works like Flower Boy or IGOR. One detail in his albums, which made him so famous is his shifting between different, well-structured personalities, who all tell different stories. But his origin where he began is lesser known or recognized, even by the best informed hip-hop-heads in the scene. Tyler’s first mixtape “Bastard” was published in 2009, when he was just 17 and already recorded, when he turned 16/17. His second album “Goblin”, the follow-up story to “Bastard” was published roundabout 2 years later. During the recording sessions, Okonma was around 18-19 years old. “Goblin” became his debut studio album and earned the MTV Music Award for “Best new Artist” in 2011. In retrospect, many fans say, that this is not his best album due to the fact, that he wasn’t that good at making music at that time, but I think that’s the reason why the album shouldn’t be ignored. All tracks are only written and produced by Tyler himself. He was the universal mind behind his projects and led all by himself – something not many artists do today.
The Album contains 15 Tracks plus 3 additional bonus tracks. The story sets in after the first therapy session, Tyler had with Dr. TC who is the school psychiatrist. Tyler was sentenced for multiple sessions, the first one being told in “Bastard” and the second one now in “Goblin”. Dr. TC can be recognized by his low pitched voice. Tyler himself is performing as three different persons in this album: Tyler, Wolf and Sam. Context to them is given during the second track “Yonkers”. Who also can be heard on the album are members from Tyler’s Gang Odd Future Wolf Gang (better known as Odd Future or short OF) Frank Ocean, Hodgy, Jasper, Taco, Domo Genisis and Mike G.
Track No.01 – Goblin
Goblin is the title track for the Album and leads us into the therapy by a short monolog of Dr. TC, saying “You wouldn't do that Tyler, kill yourself or anyone. You don't even have the balls to begin with. What you need is me, someone to talk to, uh, it's been a while since our last session. So, tell me what's been going on”.Tyler starts his verse with very aggressive wording, paired with silent and long stretched melodies, which are very contrary to his emphasis. “I'm not a fucking role model. I'm a 19-year-old fucking emotional coaster with pipe dreams” gives us the listener an impression on how Tyler portrays himself to Dr. TC and other people. With lines like “The devil doesn't wear Prada, I'm clearly in a fucking white tee” he states very clearly, that he himself sees his person as bad and harmful, like the devil.
After his rap part, Okonma and Dr. TC have a short dialogue, in which Tyler questions his appearance. "Okay, you guys caught me, I'm not a fucking rapist or serial killer, I lied". Dr. TC answers with "You know, you just want attention, you'll be fine" and Tyler says "I try too hard, huh?" on what Dr. TC ends with "No, you don't". Dr. TC now asks Tyler how his trip to New York went, which leads us to the next Track.
Track No.02 – Yonkers
Yonkers is a city in the US state of New York. It often refers to itself as being the founding city for golfclubs in the USA. The track portrays the clash between him and Wolf. Tyler often told Dr. TC, that he wants to kill himself and Wolf, but as we heard in the intro track Goblin, Dr. TC thinks, that Tyler is not brave enough to kill himself or anyone else. Also Sam, the third person that is mentioned in this Song want’s to kill Wolf too for stealing a girl he had an eye on, underlining Wolf’s aggressive appearance we have in this track, because it’s only performed through Wolf’s perspective. “I'm Wolf, Tyler put this fuckin' knife in my hand. I'm Wolf, Ace gon' put that fuckin' hole in my head”. Wolf can be seen in the whole album as the cool and very aggressive guy, who is often at the skatepark, talking about his insanity and hurting or killing people.“This ain't no V. Tech shit, or Columbine, but after bowling, I went home for some damn Adventure Time” is referencing to the famous Virginia Tech shooting and Michael Moore’s documentary Bowling for Columbine with Wolf telling, that he is potentially build the same to go “bowling”. Other lines like “stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus and won't stop until the cops come in” follow the same shock effect. Wolf calls himself a “walkin' paradox, no, I'm not” which itself is again a paradox. He also has a lack of emotional empathy and tells his friend Syd to shut up and meet his therapist, because he is good at listening – a very important line for the later plot. “Jesus called, he said he's sick of the disses. I told him to quit bitchin', this isn't a fuckin' hotline” reveals Tyler’s religious believes, because all members of Odd Future are atheists, except for Frank Ocean.
With this track, Tyler earned the MTV Music Award for “Best new Artist” in 2011. The song caused a lot for attention for his music video where Tyler can be seen vomiting and eating a living cockroach.
Track No.03 – Radicals
Radicals displays Tyler’s “fuck everything”-mentality with himself turning himself into an extremely radical person, which is no wonder after we heard the first two tracks of the album. But this Radicals is going one step further.The Track begins with the following disclaimer: “Random disclaimer! Hey, don't do anything that I say in this song, okay? It's fucking fiction! If anything happens, don't fucking blame me White America, fuck Bill O'Reilly”. Tyler is again referencing to the Columbine shooting, where Bill O'Reilly, a famous FOX News Reporter at that time, blamed musicians like Marylin Manson for radicalism and school shootings in the youth. Marylin Manson was also interviewed by Michael Moore and speaks himself out against gun violence.

Dr. TC explains himself, that he just wants to help Tyler but after that the rapper gives a very “radical” statement about maturing and tells the doctor “Look, I mature day after day, nigga, you don't know shit, you're a fucking therapist”.
Tyler often spoke out against a society of forcing people to mature and instead wants to help everybody to mature by themselves instead of getting them to therapy, like he has now with Dr. TC. The track becomes a parable and gives us both extremes of Tyler by first showing his one radical site, which tells the listener to kill people and don’t care about school but then turning into a whole new radical, that gets more content about maturing and adolescence for US teens, written by a teen himself, which makes the track quite impressive and very self-reflective about Tyler’s actions.
Track No.04 – She
She is the most known track of the album, that Tyler made, this time together with his friend Frank Ocean.In the first verse, Frank tells us a story about a new girl, that moved on the block, called Raquel and that he fell into a relationship with her, but suddenly things change. This night, when Frank slept at her place, he saw a stalker, that somehow got into the room and sliced his back with a ninja sword. “A sword sliced the air, I pulled out the na-na. Rolled off the bed, then shot back, pow-pow”. Frank shoots back with his glock, but didn’t hit him, only to see him run away like: “Looked out the glass, seen him sprintin' on the grass: A real ninja, with the blade and the mask”. “If that's your ex, you should probably own a pistol” is the last advice, that Frank can give to Raquel before he ends his verse.
“The blinds wide open so he can see you in the dark when you're sleepin'! […] You're sleeping alone in bed, but check your window. He's at your window!” is sung by Frank in the refrain. It’s an urgent request to Raquel to take care of herself, because a stalker could be dangerous for her. But let the stalker himself talk.
The second verse now is shared from Wolf’s perspective. With “Night light hits off, turnin' kisses to bites. I'm a down to Earth n*gga with intentions that's right” Tyler introduces us to the scene, his imagination what is happening, when no one is at her place, giving a small hint to the next track Transylvania. He also asks the girl to go out with him to the lake, also a hint to the eleventh track Analog, where he prepares a meetup with the girl at the mentioned lake.
In the third verse, the track reaches its highlight. The line “One, two; you're the girl that I want. Three, four, five, six, seven – shit. Eight is the bullets if you say no after all this” is a pretaste of what will happen with Raquel if she declines Wolf’s offer. Tyler uses one of his most famous personal stylistic devices by starting with a harmless nursery rhyme and mixing it with gruesome and dark themes like necrophilia in lines like “I just wanna drag your lifeless body to the forest and fornicate with it, but that's because I'm in love with you, cunt”, which then again switch up to Wolf, expressing his more human side and talking about an interpersonal relationship, that he want’s to build up with the girl.
The second and third verse underline the “paradox”, that wolf called himself by unforeseen switches between falling in love with Raquel but then turning insane and fantasizing about killing her just to eventually turn back to thoughts about love and a relationship.
Track No.05 – Transylvania
Now after all that intense of a storytelling, Wolf is comparing himself to Dracula in the track Transylvania. With lines like “I’m Dracula, bitch” and “'Til I grab them throats and start smacking them shits” Wolf is comparing his aggressions to the prince of darkness, who also kidnapped women in his earlier stories. “She keeps sending me garlic! How many times I gotta tell her I’m allergic? ” is another detail about vampires, in which he sees as a parallel to himself. “I don’t want a bride, I just want bone marrow” an allusion to Bram Stokers original novel where Dracula kept three female vampires in his castle called Brides of Dracula.Track No.06 – Nightmare
After these insane outriggers by Wolf, we come back to the therapy and Dr. TC asks Tyler, which Problems he has and how his life is going downhill now. The Track starts with “So, you tell me that everything just isn't going well. Well, first off...” by Dr. TC. A very important detail here is, the beginning of the second sentence, which is also spoken by Dr. TC (a hint for the later plot) and immediately leads to Tyler’s first verse.In lines like “My only problem is death” he falls into existentialistic dilemmas and reveals his worst fears to Dr. TC. “Fuck heaven, I ain't showing no religion respect” is another harsh statement about Tyler’s atheistic lifestyle and beliefs. “When I was younger, I would smile a lot. I'm getting older, getting bolder, but a wiser top. Now I'm drunk driving, lap's full of Budweiser tops. Life is a movie and you're just a prop”. Tyler is less and less caring for the people around him and starts losing control over his moral, which he had back then, when he was younger and much happier. In “Love? I don't get none, that's why I'm so hostile to the kids that get some. My father called me to tell me he loved me - I'd have a better chance of getting Taylor Swift to fuck me " Tyler is trying to explain his hostility against the other kids he hangs with and gives an ridiculous example, how unlikely it is, that his father would get in contact with him. During therapy conversations, Tyler often refers to both these problems, his depression and the loose of his father.
Dr. TC is working as a waking mechanism for Tyler to question himself, building up a more and more close up relation between them. “Ignorant as fuck, offend people for the hell of it, because I am the devil, fucker, get on my level” is now a correlation to the heaven mention in the beginning, presenting how he is only moving in the extreme ends that the religious afterlife offers and mocking them. One of the most depressing line in the track is “I won't feel the feelings I be feeling when I'm sobered up”, when you think about the fact, that he was just becoming an adult at this time and still has his life ahead of him. “One ear I got kids screaming, ‘O.F. is the best’. The other ear I got Tron Cat, asking where the bullets and the bombs at so I can kill these levels of stress, shit” OF a reference for his hip hop group Odd Future and Tron Cat is a new introduced inner voice of Tyler, which tells him to go insane like Wolf does by asking Tyler like a hypothetical question about arming himself with weapons and bombs. Tron Cat will be introduced more in the following track Tron Cat.
Tyler ends his third verse with “Ain't kill myself yet, and I already want my life back”. He wants to go back to the life he originally had without all the interviews, shows etc. and just enjoy being a kid so his old life is metaphorically “dead” which goes along with wanting to kill himself as well. He starts to lose control again and Dr. TC asks him what happened, to which Tyler answers with “it's like I'm a different person at times. Sometimes I'm fucking mad, sometimes I'm not. It's like I got a fucking voice in my head telling me to do all this fucked up shit, man. He tells me to do this shit, that I don't wanna fucking do”. Dr. TC asks for the person’s name and Tyler answers with “Tron Cat” which just leads us to the next track.
Track No.07 – Tron Cat
The seventh track of the album gives us a deep look into the behaviour of Tron Cat. The term cat is very important for the beginning of the track because Tron Cat’s name is an oxymoron, paradox like Tyler mentioned his whole personality is, in Radicals.The Track starts with an innocent la-la singing and abruptly switches into a deep screaming. “You got a fucking death wish? I'm a genie, it'll get done. Nice to meet you, but it's more pleasant to eat you” are just the harmless thoughts by Tron Cat. Which power he possesses can be heard in the line “I'm Tyler, The Creature”, which shows, that Tron Cat has the ability to control Tyler’s whole person and not just talk into his thoughts as Tyler said in Nightmare. He is a real problem for Tylers sanity and brings up extreme thoughts about violence and Harassment.
“What the fuck? I... I'm speechless […] Shit, Tyler, you're gonna need some help” is Dr. TCs reaction to Tron Cat’s introduction in the therapy. I don’t want to get too deep into Tron Cat’s thoughts will leave it to each himself to listen to this track. Dr. TC moves on to the next topic and asks Tyler the following question: “fuck it, different subject. How's that girl you were telling me about?”. Yes we go back to Raquel, the girl we already know from the track She.
Track No.08 – Her
In this track, we see Tyler falling back in this paradox and bipolar behaviour, with now becoming harmless again after his very extreme Incendiary-like revelation.It’s the first time, that Tyler shows real affection for a girl. Throughout the whole track the use of repetition as a stylistic device, gives the verses a constant flow, starting over and over with the line “it’s this girl!”, showing how euphoric he is, when he talks about Raquel. “We talk every night, she cry to me about her guy”, refers to Frank, who is currently in a relationship with her. As the track moves on we find out, that he has much contact to her on Facebook and is video chatting with her, very common in his age and that Tyler also feels invited to her “world of privacy” when chatting with Raquel. When rapping “I see her in class. Not really, two doors down, but anytime that I pass to take a piss in a stall, I picture us in the hall”, Tyler is letting his imagination run free and is imagining himself with her in the school, they both visit. Another line like “I know, to y'all, I come off as rough; but I'm the nicest to her and I just want to concur, a relation. I want the cheesy dates at the movies and stupid walks at the beach”, is again an allusion to Tylers alter egos and his bipolar disorder, the conflict with Tron Cat.
We find out that the relationship between Raquel and Frank, who he is now calling “Mr. Faggot” isn’t going very well: “Things are looking great […] Last time we talked, she said that her relationship was rocky. Now that Mr. Faggot's gone, there's no one that can stop me” but our tragic protagonist is not going to fulfil his wishes of love, because as the track moves on, Tyler tells us “Next day, metro's taking me home. I see her in the cut at Wendy's, she's not alone. Who's that guy? Wait, why the fuck he 'bout to kiss her? Come to find out, she got back with her n*gga.“
Track No.09 – Sandwitches
The Track Sandwitches is not really that important for the storyline between Tyler and his therapist Dr. TC, but gives the listener a deeper look inside the hard rap style of his gang Odd Future, performing together with is long-time friend and gang member Hodgy, who is now the second heard feature on the album after Frank Ocean.Track No.10 – Fish
The title of the track is an extended metaphor which compares picking up girls with fishing, which possibly derived from the popular “many fish in the sea” metaphor. Tyler expresses his love and tension but also different problems, he has with “annoying women”.Track No.11 – Analog
Coming back to the story, as teased in the track She, Tyler is now inviting the girl Raquel, about who he is gushing so much in Her, and wants to share a good time with her, talking about, what they could do, if she is getting along with him and drops Frank for him.“We could count the shooting stars, well could you meet me by the lake? Summer never has to end with me” is a very catchy description of how they can spend their summer time together, but Tyler is seemingly being fine with this style. It differs extremely from the other other tracks and is again pointing to his extreme personality disorder, making the listener uncomfortable considering how it can drag others into dangerous situations with its mood swings.
In the first verse, we got Tyler’s friend Hodgy, bragging about his girl and how they spend the, already teased “never ending summer” together. He gives a short hint into this summer time with the line “I'm give it to her, she wants that summer time. I'm give it like no other cause she knows I'm hers. Damn right she's mine, we both know it. So when we separate everything fine, her phone ringin' in her purse” and calling himself “her n*gga, n*gga”. Following to that, Hodgy goes shopping and clubbing at Venice Beach and transitions over into the hook, which is sung by Tyler again. Tylers verse fell short in this track, only rapping four bars, that give us a very unsettling feeling again.
“I packed a couple sandwiches inside that basket”, yes Tyler prepared a package for a nice day at the lake but mystery unfolds, after he says “brought some extra towels if anyone was asking”, which might or might not be a hint on, what Tron Cat is planning to do with the girl, when they meet at the lake. After that, Tyler falls back into his lovely imagination and wants to do something with the girl, that’s “beyond what we both can imagine”. The track ends with a repetitive outro of Tyler saying “Watch the sunset, we can watch the sunset” and then closing the track with the words “Look, you know, the water's pretty deep, let's go to sleep”. A happy or not so happy ending to his date at the Lake.
Track No.12 – B.S.D.
B.S.D. features both fellow Odd Future members Jasper and Taco, or as Jasper told us in the intro: “Three icy ass n*ggas from Odd Future doin' some crazy shit” and yes “By the way, we do punch bitches”.Like Sandwitches and Fish, B.S.D. doesn’t suit the story of Goblin that much and is rather a gate to the mind of Odd Future’s mindset and gets the young teens flexing with money and jewellery in lines like “See my neck? Iced the fuck out. I'm getting money, n*gga”.
In the outro, the track gets a twist again. The beat stops and we hear Jasper and Taco getting shot and killed by Tyler, which leads us just to the next and maybe most important track of the album.
Track No.13 – Window
Now we get to the retarding momentum. Dr. TC introduces us into the Track Window with the words “Tyler, we, ah, I know it's short notice, but I brought all your friends here. For some reason, I couldn't get a hold of Taco and Jasper, but I just brought all your friends here to talk to you, because they're really worried about you I thought it would be better if, they could talk to you”. the mention of Taco and Jasper refers of course to the end of B.S.D. where Tyler kills his two Odd Future friends, which is why they could not be invited by Dr. TC now. Everyone of Tyler’s friends opens up a “window” to their lives, show Tyler what is important to them and try to convince them of their ideas to move on. The track is with 8 minutes the longest track on the album and I think the best way to make yourself a picture from it is by listening to the album by yourself, but I just want to make a short personal comment about this track, because it’s one of the best storytelling tracks I’ve ever heard and the fact that these people were just my age when doing this is very impressive.I want to give short summaries about everybody’s verse on this track, starting with Domo Genisis. “It was all a dream, I used to read ‘Complex’ magazines” is the starting line in his verse. He talks very extensively about consuming weed and fyling from city to city, asking the listener “Where we at? We on top of the world, where we at?”
Frank Ocean’s introduction into his part is just perfect. “And five minutes from suicide, I biked it to the park” mentions his suicidal thoughts after suffering through hurricane Katrina and how Odd Future saved his life, by giving him a new meaning and gang to be around him, possibly teasing to Tyler, that Frank almost went exactly the same way, Tyler want’s to now and stop him from doing so. “All was gray, all was gray, Frankie had the blues in fact […] Teenage males, couldn't tell I was going through it” refers to his comeback to New Orleans after the strike of hurricane Katrina and finding his home and studio completely destroyed with nothing left to use from. Frank also has answer to Domo’s question “where we at”, which he replies to with “Deep inside the ear canals of Bill O'Reilly's daughter, that's where I'm at” again hinting to the FOX reporter and now telling, that his own daughter is listening to the music, he says is motivating gun violence and terrorism. After that he ends his verse with the same question as Domo, asking his gang “Now, where we at? Where we at? Wolf Gang, where we at?”
The third verse, now by Hodgy, alludes to the maturing of Odd Future “No longer, but we were in premature, immature” and how he is also consuming grass for a particular reason: “Hell yeah, I smoke weed 'cause I like to go green”. Hodgy again ends his part with the question “Where we at? Where we at?” and answers it with “We on top of the world, on top of the world”.
Mike G explains to Tyler how far they have now made it with Odd Future. "And too often they think that they could stop me. Now every show we makin' half a Maserati". Mike sees a change in his life, how the enemies of the past can now only marvel at the success Tyler and his group have to offer. Mike sees a destiny in the fact that he now sees everything in front of him that they told him then he would never have, confirming Hodgy's statement that they are now on top of the world, having reached their horizon. "Now it's gold Rolex's if they try to clock me" is of course a pun on watches and the Rolex brand, which generally stands for high wealth. "They say life switches pace when you got shit made. So I'm just tryna get paid, don't you remember the days when your dreams were the only thing that kept you sane?" Mike G reminds Tyler of the hard times when dreams were the only thing that kept you sane, to keep going no matter what. But Tyler has to realize that they've finally managed to get out of the muck of yesteryear, and so Mike G also ends his verse by saying "Where we at, n*gga? Where we at, n*gga? Uh, we on top of the world, on top of the world".
Now follows Tyler’s part and we get feedback on how well his friends influenced him on his depression and suicidal thoughts but signs are not looking good for our protagonist. “Where the fuck we at, man? Y'all niggas don't know me, huh. Where we at?” mocks the question of before and sounds more serious, than his friends because he actually wants to know, where he is right now. His friends don't know him and Tyler, as you could hear at the beginning, is afraid to open up and as he now gradually completes the final transitions to his total decline into madness in his part. “Down to fucking Earth, huh? Fuck everybody” is his reaction to his friends making irrational, unrealistic, unreasonable and impractical verses that don’t suit him. With “My window is a book, and I'm a fucking crook. Stealing phones to call home, but the line is off the hook” Tyler openly talks about his loose of contact with his family and how everybody can watch his emotional downfall if he wants to. “Look, you can't stop me, I'm going full Monty. Fuck that, I'm Hitler, everyone's a fucking Nazi” is a very raw and cynical comparison on the base, that everybody is just his follower. “When I'm on that stage, I feel important. A whole fucking assortment of children that's taking Ritalin because the teacher said that the therapist wasn't feeling him. You gotta be fucking kidding me”. Tyler speaks openly, as he did in Goblin, about the fact that only the stage makes him happy and that he has become addicted to Ritalin in the meantime - another tragic case to be despised at such a young age. “In school, I was a zero, now I'm every boy's hero, and they fear it. You can hear it when that little fuck is reciting my lyrics” describes the transition Tyler made over the years, how everybody turned in and stopped hating him for his creative ambitions but all that is not enough and so the tragic highlight begins with words “Cheer it, dead parents everywhere, it's smelling like teen spirit. Okay, fuck it, Elvis has left the building”.
After this, a 100 second misery follows, how Tyler now shoots all his friends to death and after his murderous freakout is beckoned back to reality by Dr.TC and only now becomes aware of his deeds and suffers an emotional breakdown - all this accompanied by the constantly repeating instrumental in the background, which in my opinion is the crucial point to complete this audio-visual environment. Dr. TC tries to calm him down and make him feel comfortable again: “You're in your good space with me. We'll figure all of this out. You don't have to worry about a thing” and so the story of Window comes to an end.
Track No.14 – AU79
AU79 is the first instrumental track on the album. AU is the short form for gold in the periodic table and 79 is the number of protons. This name gives us a hint for the last track Golden and puts a space between the events of Window and the end of the therapy session.Track No.15 – Golden
In Golden, we can hear one last dialogue between Dr. TC and Tyler to end the session and with it the album. Dr. TC starts in the track with “Tyler, you... obviously have some fucking problems and, this— This is... This is the end of this session. Let's... Anything else you've gotta say?” to which Tyler answers with many different problems, which he has addressed on his journey, such as his gang.“My friends are turning into opposites, because my life is turning into opposite” is a short summary on his relationship to his friends and how it changed over time. Tyler says “I'm missing my only friend” and Dr. TC answers with “You have everyone around you. You have thirty meetings a day. I don't see what it is. I mean, you— you act like you don't have anyone to talk to. I'm here for you. I'm your friend” and is visibly confused by the words of his patient, because he can’t get himself into his situation and so tension starts to rise. Tyler begins to question about his mother, why she didn’t abort him and we had to become the self-called “Bastard”, that he is today, but Dr. TC doesn’t know what to answer and so The dialogue between TC and Tyler is getting more and more strained. TC tries to tell Tyler, that he is living the time of his life and that he wishes to be that free in his age. Tyler just answers with “Fuck that, fuck all this shit!” and “You don’t help me with shit! I killed my fucking friends”. Dr. TC calls in security and Tyler yells, that he isn’t going insane but that he morphed into a table “And I’m not even human, I’m a body-shaped demon” brings us back to the beginning of the album, where Tyler already told us, that he can be compared to Satan. After a bit of mess between Tyler, the security and a nurse who gives him “two doses” it finally happens:
Dr. TC causes the house of cards to collapse. He explains the whole situation to Tyler. Dr. TC - our accompanying psychiatrist; Tron Cat - Tyler's crazy alter ego; Wolf Haley - Tyler's best friend with a tendency to snap, who Tyler wanted to kill; and Sam - Tyler's other friend, who was very shy and reserved, but had murder fantasies about Wolf: None of them are real. “The person that gave a fuck was me. See, you’re not going crazy... It’s me, I’m your best friend, Tyler. I know everything. I know everything about you. You’ve been helping yourself this whole time. Your friends? They’re just figments of your imagination. Dr. TC... See, Tyler, I’m your conscience. I’m Tron Cat... I’m Sam... I’m Wolf Haley...” After this, the case about Dr. TC, or better Tyler’s Conscience is closed, the album ends with a Cliff-hanger and the story of Goblin is over.
This plot was often teased during the album, for example in tracks like Yonkers, where Tyler tells his friend Syd, to shut up but then says, that he knows a great listener, his therapist, which was again a paradox move by Tyler. Also, in Nightmare Dr. TC says that “everything isn’t just going well”, just to then immediately transfer over to Tyler’s rap part without even having a real transition – a hint for, how Tyler is switching through his personalities all the time.
Conclusion
Goblin is the continuation of a unique story of a teenager who is in the process of finding his place in the world and has to deal with personality disorders, problems at home, betrayal and depression at an early age. We observe an eternal struggle of suffering, which reminds us again and again what consequences of such mental illnesses can bring to social participation. Songs like She, Her, and Analog provide unique storytelling about Tyler’s love while Yonkers, Transylvania, and Tron Cat prove how easily Tyler can empathize with and flesh out the personas of strangers.Tyler was an early talent at both writing and producing music, as the entire album was also produced entirely by himself. Not only that Tyler himself sets here a highlight in his career, also his friends like Frank Ocean or Hodgy prove themselves on this album with sophisticated lines and elaborate stories, which are described on a duration of over an hour. Goblin works almost like a radio play and gave many young people in the U.S. at the time a lot of courage to become creative themselves and to prove his artistic creativity. Therefore, especially young artists like Tyler, The Creator should also be presented more strongly on the subject of youth and adolscence to the students to strengthen their courage to create something in the world and pursue their dreams. Even if Tyler is perhaps no longer as convinced of this album as he once was and also many fans nowadays give the tracks rather a rejection, it is nevertheless only fair to think at least once into the story of the bipolar, mentally disturbed, aggressive murder-fantasy and creative head of the young Goblin-Tyler / Dr. TC / Tron Cat / Wolf / Sam purely and also to pay respect to this work, what young creative people, with just 18 years or even younger can create.

So she’s got 238,000 miles on her. The trip to PCB will be about 400 miles or 7 hours. I’ve made long trips in this truck before this one is going to be about an hour longer than the ones I’ve done in the past. Basket and wreath making was always a hidden passion for mom, she finally (with friends & family encouragement) transitioned into an enterprise. As a marketing major, I decided to help be her marketing mgr. Social media, marketing plans, etc.
We live in same area which like a multi city coastal beach area in florida Senior aged residents, retired miltsrty vets, beach goers, pet lovers, not big city. Ranges from "2nd tier affluent to the lower end of socio economic scale". All that for perspecitve. My mom's style of baskets are premium, fancy, glam chic, beautifully radiant, with colors, designs and looks that pop!
Mom's makes the baskets and also customizes by customer order or preferences. This is the part where I can use some ideas and or help to pass on. Some potential patrons have their own side business like Mary Kay or Avon, etc etc..and they commission my mom to turn a few of their products into a wow worthy basket.
So the question is? How do you price this type of basket product. Normally a basket that mom makes is the addition of the cost of the items that comprise the basket plus a general laboproduction fee that usually come to a "reasonable" round final price.
But with the potential customer providing the products? How should the formula change or look ? My thought is mom's item total cost + labor cost + design fee???! Appreciate any ideas or insights!

It's really good!! They just opened at Panama City Beach's Pier Park next to Dillards. Was in town for the day, saw the billboard and went. Thought $20/person (you can make it more affordable by bundling with escape rooms and axe throwing but I wasn't interested) was steep so I had somewhat low expectations (I've been to a LOT of haunted houses).
I was pleasantly surprised. This is a really well-done walkthrough haunt full of motion sensor moving props that are well timed and well placed unless you're going too fast. They actually come pretty close to you too which is great and I thought there were a lot of them. Lighting and fog were good levels, dark but not that you couldn't see where you were going or the props. Great sound design (hard to hear the reaper intro monologue tho). Lots of different themes which was really fun. A couple balloon bag walkthroughs and times you have to touch something like a hanging body bag or find the right wall in the clown house. Tight spaces and turns. I really hope that they do well and the people going thru don't break the props since they get close. I was initially disappointed there weren't live actors, but even without it was still full of action and lots of fun which says a lot. Strong recommend to anyone in the area and kudos to the designers of the haunt.

The restaurant is built into an old villa on a cliff, overlooking the water, and is very beautiful. They emphasize that they have the only 3 Michelin star French chef working there, and claim to be the #1 food destination in Vietnam. (Tasting menu is VND4-5M.)
The advertising feels scammy because there is no such thing as a Michelin star chef. They claim the chef helped design the menu and he runs a 3 Michelin star restaurant in Paris, which is not the same thing and he is not in the Da Nang restaurant. Based out of the Mission Row station, your duties will see you patrol all aspects of the city from the lights and dazzle of Vinewood, the beaches of Vespucci and the mean streets of Southside.
We also have the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office who patrol the North of the state. Although a slower pace of life in the north, it’s certainly not quiet! The deputies of the BCSO patrol the entire county from the sleepy shores of Sandy to the busy industrial industry of Paleto Bay.
